Bacon Swiss turnover and blueberry scone
    Becca D.

This sweet little bakery is amazing! Friendly service right when I walked in. The smell of fresh baked pastries hits your senses and everything looks so good. There are a small amount of seats inside but plenty outside. There's plenty of street parking too. I got a blueberry scone and a bacon swiss turnover. The scone was heavy with a soft interior and full of blueberries. Not too sweet which was great. The star of the show was the bacon Swiss turnover. Hands down the best! The pastry itself was buttery and flaky without being greasy and crumbling completely. The salty bacon and creamy Swiss cheese made a nice filling I wish there was a bit more. The the crust of the turnover was so dang good!! I will definitely be back and highly recommend the turnover!

A cute bakery tucked away. They offer muffins, scones, quiche, cookies, cakes and coffee for starters. Everything is homemade fresh We ordered a piece of bacon/cheese quiche and almond/raspberry muffin. The quiche was just ok. It was a fluffy omelette in a pie form. It tasted very eggy and not much bacon at all. I wish it had more taste. On the other hand, the muffin was delicious!! It wasn't very sweet which was good and really enjoyed the fresh raspberries. So moist. Nice young man behind the counter. Very quiet. He brought our food out to us. Enjoyed the sitting area outside. Look forward to visiting again.

The scones were a delight! Loved the soft texture and that they weren't overtly sweet. The cinnamon bun was moist and doughy, just how I like it. The turnover was nice and flaky and the filling wasn't super sweet either. Great baked good all in all!

Cute little hidden spot near the Hidden Tea Room. I like to stop here if I'm in the area when they are open. They are open only from 7am to 1pm. Their pastries are thick and yummy. I go for the blueberry scone or muffin. Their coffee drinks are great! Their service is welcoming and friendly. They are pet friendly and they have plenty of patio seating.

Cute little bakery. Really good sticky buns and cinnamon rolls if you can get your hands on them before it's gone. Staff is friendly and helpful. Not much seating so we either sit outside or take things to go.

A cute little treasure off the beaten path, definitely worth seeking out. They have fresh baked goodies and delicious coffee. The cafe is small and quaint inside with patio seating on days that the weather is nice. Everyone is super nice and helpful, the service is great. They open early and are closed by 1:00 p.m., so plan to stop in early for the best selection.

Corner Scone is a small bakery with limited hours but the shop is very cute and makes up for limited interior space with a lovely little outdoor area. The selection is good for the size of the location itself and the prices are reasonable as well. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. It's a great place to stop for a little treat although the hours they keep can make that a little tough. Most recently I had a blackberry turnover there that was flaky, moist and delicious with a good amount of filling that was not too sweet. It's so important to support local small businesses like this one. I really hope they are able to expand their hours in the future as I would love to patronize them more often.

corner scone bakery has a really cute and welcoming ambience -- it's in a quiet area of lodi and the space feels cozy and calm. the owner was very sweet and personable, and she mentioned she had just taken on the role about a month ago. for such a new owner, i think she's doing a great job creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. that said, i do think the staff could use a bit more training, especially when it comes to drinks and presentation. i ordered an iced chai latte, which is usually a simple favorite, but unfortunately it tasted like mostly milk with just a splash of chai. usually, it's made with equal parts milk and concentrate, so the flavor was really off -- but everyone was so kind that i didn't want to complain. the scones, while beautifully presented (which is what drew me and my mom to try them), were very cold, dry, and lacked flavor. i wish they had offered to warm them up -- i think that could've made a big difference. i also ordered a caramel macchiato that was served upside down, which i didn't request, but it still tasted fine. nothing amazing, but not bad either. overall, the vibe and people are lovely, and i think this place has potential with just a bit more attention to product quality and barista training. i'd love to come back in a few months and see how things have grown!

I've been coming to the Corner Scone, off and on for months now, maybe a year and some change ever since reading about them in San Joaquin Magazine. My procrastinating ass is just getting to the review. Ha! Simply said, this place is great!! Super small inside but their deliciously baked sweets are baked daily and sometimes fresh right outta the oven. I love when they tell me they're right outta the oven!!!! Scones, quiche, muffins, cupcakes, cookies, cakes, pies, shepherds pie, cinnamon rolls, tortilla wraps, breakfast/lunch sandwiches and more are offered. Their vanilla lattes are awesome! They use Temple Coffee. At this time they have closed the bakery due to the Covid stuff. I see people walk up to order but they recommend you to drive up in front of the bakery, park, and one of their friendly staff will come up to your window and take your order. As cars receive their orders just move your car up. There are a few tables outside you could eat/drink at too. The Corner Scone is a Lodi gem! Check i

Five stars for the delicious scones. Curbside pickup only at this time. Calling in my order was only slightly painful trying to explain the way my husband likes his coffee / but he's to blame for that, not the lady working. Some prior reviews with complaints about their "system" which yes isn't the best; it would be nice if they had a portable payment system so as not to have to go back and forth from the vehicle - brought my order then took my card went back into store then came back - but not a huge deal and we all have to make adjustments during this time. We ordered three scones even though we really only needed two but you know us! I really wanted the pumpkin chocolate chip bread that I saw on one of the menu pics but that's only seasonal. I was sad and thought I "settled" on some scones. Lemon, chocolate chip, and maple bacon (husbands). I'm glad They didn't have my first choice because These scones were perfect! They were thick and soft inside. I can't comment on the maple bacon that one definitely not my style (hubby gave 5 stars as well) but the other two were SO GOOD. Try warming them for 15 seconds takes them up another level which is pretty surprising because they already mouth watering. We hope to take some home with us! (But they probably won't make it that far) The reason for 4 stars not 5 was because we were sitting curbside for about 15 minutes with only one car ahead of us and it still took another 5 after that car left (I had called the order in 10 minutes prior to us even arriving) so that's quite awhile to wait for an order that's already been made ya know? Like those scones didn't just come out of the oven - oh wow can you imagine if they had oooooh my! But yea I just didn't understand what could be taking so long - but perhaps they had more phone orders coming in!

The cake was moist, flavorful, and the strawberry filling was delicious, which is why we decided to order a 6 inch birthday cake for $90. Unfortunately the first custom cake was extremely dry. Nobody at the birthday party wanted to eat it, which was disappointing considering the price. We contacted the bakery, and to their credit they offered to remake the cake, which I genuinely appreciated. When we picked up the remake, the cake box had been taped shut and the frosting had smashed onto the top of the box, so I had to scrape frosting off the lid and put it back onto the cake myself. It wasn't a huge deal since it was just for family, but it didn't feel very carefully handled. The bigger issue was that the remake still wasn't made correctly. The original order was white cake with fresh strawberries and strawberry filling/purée in the middle. The remake had fresh strawberries but regular frosting filling instead. The cake itself was much better this time and not dry, but it still wasn't what we ordered. I do appreciate that they tried to fix the mistake, and their individual cake slices and cupcakes are honestly really good. But after receiving one dry cake and then a remake that was made incorrectly and packaged carelessly, I don't think I'd order another special occasion cake from here again.

They have a very large variety to choose from. Although the cheesecake and bread pudding have been my favorites from the start, I do like to try things that are new to me. Sometimes it's a hit, and sometimes it's a miss. But I guess that's just a personal taste thing. I'm not really sure if there is a best time to come here in order to get the freshest and largest variety. Some days I come in and it's fully stocked, and sometimes it's a bit picked over. But you really never know what you might find at times. And I enjoy that. For example... I went in recently and found pumpkin muffins. Where the heck can you get great pumpkin muffins in the summer? They were big and delicious. I'm glad I bought extra to keep in my freezer. I do wish they had tongs. I'm not a fan of people sticking their hands inside the case to get things, although they do have papers that you are supposed to use. I generally always see people using them, but it still would be more sanitary if they provided tongs. I find the prices to be reasonable, and the employees are friendly. Just be aware that there is an additional fee for using a card to pay, whether it is debit or credit. And should you require a box and not a paper bag for your purchases, you pay $.50 for it. I recommend that you give this place a try. I have told others about it and they now enjoy stopping in.

Out of this world. The breading was thin and crispy, and the dipping sauce was yummy. We had the catch of the day. It came with risotto that was perfectly seasoned and cheesy. My friend had the Parpadelle. She said it was prepared perfectly, and al dente just like she likes it. We definitely would return for some more spins around the menu. We made a brunch reservation for 11:30am, though we ended up ordering off the regular menu rather than brunch. That was the first odd note of the afternoon. Before the appetizers, they brought out focaccia with herbed butter, a nice alternative to the standard bread basket. The calamari appetizer with marinara and tartar sauce was fine, nothing memorable. My mom's eggplant parmesan arrived warm but not hot and cooled down quickly. The pizzas, a Funghi and a Margherita, were cooked well in the stone oven and were genuinely the best thing on the table, but they arrived warm and cooled down quickly, the same issue as my mom's eggplant parmesan. With the air conditioning blowing directly overhead, hot food didn't really stand a chance. The service is where things unraveled. When we were first seated, the manager came by and helped with my dad's walker, which was a nice touch. After that it went downhill. When my dad asked for something light, the waiter recommended the carbonara, a dish built on guanciale, grana, egg, and black pepper. That's not light by any definition. It's a basic gap in menu knowledge that does the guest a disservice. The menu also had salmon, ricotta toast, and eggs in purgatory. My dad also asked for red pepper flakes to go with his pizza and they took unusually long to arrive, so he had to flag down a different waiter to get them. The waiter noticed I was drinking my Bloody Mary slowly and offered a different version that actually tasted better. If there's a preferred version, lead with it. When I made eye contact to signal we were ready to pay, he acknowledged it but continued socializing with a coworker before finally coming over and taking my card, as if he was surprised we wanted to pay. When a customer is ready, they're ready. He took my card, asked if we wanted dessert, went to grab the dessert menu, then handed it back. Just hold onto the card. I'm paying with the same card regardless. Handing it back makes no sense. The restaurant itself is beautiful and spacious, with a full bar, outdoor seating, a small store at the entrance, and a vegetable garden out front. It's a great setting. Dinner service might be a different experience, but on this visit the dining room wasn't particularly full, which made it more noticeable that the staff prioritized socializing over the guests in front of them. For the record, the suggested tip on the receipt started at 18%. On the way out, two hostesses stood by and did nothing while my parents, one of whom was on a walker, made their way to the door on their own. Getting the door is common courtesy for the elderly. Pietro's has the ingredients of a great restaurant. The space is beautiful, the stone oven pizza is genuinely good, and the brunch menu has real potential. But a restaurant is only as good as its execution, and right now the service and the food temperatures are letting the kitchen down. They just need to meet it.
