Came in to do a smog check. They charge $60 dollars for smog which is not cheap at all. My car failed due to the fact that I was doing some work to car a few days ago and forgot I disconnected the battery; therefore, I got a failed test. The manager still charged me a full price. I was fine with paying it, hoping a retest would be free of charge, but they wanted additional $30 dollars for a retest. I was trying to tell him that most smog stations do the retest free of charge as courtesy. He could have at least just offered to pay additional $8.25 for the smog certificate for the retest, but he still insisted on additional $30. He just didn't care about what I was trying to tell him. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE! When I started arguing with him about their customer service, the manager started yelling at me right away. So expect yelling if you have any issues with them! I just went there to get gas at Cornerstone today at about 12:15. The mechanic had a car parked just outside of the service bay that made it difficult to get to the pump. I was able to squeeze through but it was so tight I would not have been able to open my door at the first pump. I pulled to the forward pump. When I went to pay for my gas, I told the attendant that the car was blocking the pump. He said "that guy is getting his car serviced right now". Nobody was working on the car. I told him that if the mechanic pulled the car up even a foot it would make it easier to get to the pump. His response was "I just work in here, I can't do anything about it." If I was the owner, I would want to know the mechanic was blocking the pump and the attendant didn't care. read more

I really like this place alot. First and foremost their gas is always competitively priced, and they still do full service! But where they really excel is around automotive services. I've used the mechanics there for smog checks, oil changes, and even a transmission replacement. The pricing is always fair. The service is timely and done in a high quality fashion. I'm from a different state that doesn't require that you get your car smogged. So when it was finally time to register my car here I took it to the local cornerstone automotive place to have it done. I'm sure the smogging all was fine but when they were done they guy said that my drive belt was cracked and I should really get that checked out. I had just recently had my drive belt replaced and know that it is not cracked. Just to be certain when I got my oil changed (at the place that I know and trust) I asked them about it and they told me that my drive belt was fine. Hai, the head mechanic charged my mom $60 for a smog but failed her on a visual under hood inspection due to a disconnected vacuum line- and was mysterious about what line it was, while it was a slip on connection that takes 2 seconds to connect. He initially failed her then charged an additional $39 for a re-test after she connected it herself. Hai is scamming customers on smog and refuses to refund people after they realize he ripped them off. Bad and predatory business!! read more

Hai saved my life. This man took me under his wing, like his own daughter. He was able to help me in my time of crisis, while conflict was arising and my tires were catching fire, he calmed me. To think I would never make it home again, he was able to fix not 2 but 4 of my ailed tires. He explained not only the function of rotor cuffs but defines a true man filling me with nothing but love and respect. Without this man, who knows where I'd be? Tried to get a 10 gal. propane tank filled here. Was told they'd be right out after two other cars. Waited 15 minutes and then told I had to wait until no cars were there for gas...even ones that came after me. Service was terrible and rude. If you want propane, don't go here. read more

I've been taking my '92 Toyota truck, with over 300K miles on it, to Hai for a few years, and he's yet to do me wrong. The guy who answers the phone, however, needs some serious training in customer service. Seriously every single time that I call to ask about my truck, he acts irritated that someone DARED to call and he would rather burn in Hell than take 2 minutes out of his day to find out how your vehicle repair is going. I guess he must make only minimum wage and just doesn't care. Hai, the lead mechanic, is a good guy, though. I trust him. read more

Went to get two new tires. They said it would take one hour. It took over 2 hours, they left car on while working which resulted in a dead battery and to top it off they gave me car back with two of the tires with 15 and 21 psi. read more

The mechanic is top notch, he will definitely fix your car. Unfortunately, he over charges. He charged me 20% over retail for a dealer part. I know that mechanics get wholesale prices from parts stores and dealers (I used to work in a garage), usually 20% to 40% under retail, so to tack another 20% on top of retail is robbery. After the work, he needed to smog my vehicle, but since the battery had been disconnected, it needed to have about 100 miles driven for the computer to give a valid test. He said he would just drive it home that night (to San Jose). Sure. He used a quarter tank of gas and charged me shop rates for the drive time! read more

I took a tire there that had a piece of metal in it and asked an employee if he thought he could fix it and he as well as an older man whom I think was the owner assured me that they could fix it. I came back two hours later and paid $30.00 for the fix. The older man loaded the tire onto my pick up bed and quietly told me to not use the tire, only use it in an emergency! I told him that just rendered it useless to me and that this was a complete waste of time and money! He just shook his head and repeated that I should not use that tire. I told him that I had asked him and his employee if they thought it could be repaired and why wasn't he honest in the first place and he just walked away. Needless to say, I was furious.
