A beautiful oasis in the Henderson area! This is my favorite park to walk my dog! We try to come swing by at least once a month and go for a stroll around the giant lake. There's really so much to do at this park. They have basketball courts, a large grass area to run and play, areas for families and friends to gather for BBQs, a trail around the lake which has lots of ducks and swans, a playground and more. Our favorite thing to do is to walk around the lake. Some parts of it is paved and other parts are dirt, but it doesn't bother us much. It's a nice long walk and something a little more special than our traditional walk around the neighborhood. They also always seem to have different events and festivals going on at this park so always something to do if you like that sort of thing! read more

Lots of geese and ducks, please don't feed them. Hatching season is April-may and it takes 10 weeks for them to mature so beware of protective mothers and extra animal droppings during that time. read more

This park has become home to several hundred species of birds and other wildlife. It is situated on 100 acres and carefully planned to have something for everyone ranging from pavilions, volleyball, basketball, bike path, trails, and individual covered table areas complete with their own barbecue. While we were there, employees were ensuring the cleanliness of the park. This was refreshing to see that this community takes pride in their park while allowing it to be shared by all. After my daughter learned to ride her bike, this is where she learned to ride long distance. Perfect open path around the water. There is a little hill on the path that takes you up to a bench that overlooks the park, such a beautiful and rewarding view after that climb up the hill. Geese can always been seen around walking or in the water. There is a big open grass area for field sports. As well as a shaded area with several tables to have gatherings. I like that it doesn't have a playground only because it makes our kids enjoy the outdoors and nature more, instead of just being on a playground equipment. read more

This was a really nice, clean and well-maintained park! I was here for an ultramarathon event and got quite familiar with the park. There's the Railroad Lake in the middle of the park. Around the perimeter of this lake is a nice paved trail suitable for running and walking. There's also a grassy area on the Western section of the park near the Southern end of the parking lot. Also located next to the parking lot near the Northern end are a couple of basketball courts. This park has a lot of geese and their goslings. read more

Ok Covid19, you can go away now! Your presence has caused many mental breakdowns, especially being cooped up in a house with two children under the age of 4. You know all those bad ass Chuck Norris jokes? Well Chuck Norris just spent the day with my kids and got his a$$ handed to him on a plate. Anyway, we needed to get the kids out of the house to let their wiggles out. I specifically picked this park since there is no jungle gym/playground area. If my son saw a jungle gym right now, he'd be so upset if I didn't let him climb on it. This is a large park with a huge grassy area, walking paths, a small lake/pond whatever you want to call it, and of course the ducks and geese roaming around. I was worried when we pulled in because there were a lot of cars and thought it would be crowded with people. This was not the case however. Since the park is so large, there was plenty of space to run around. Everyone was out enjoying the wonderfully warm weather and practicing good social distancing. My kids enjoyed their time outside where there was lots of rooms to run. It's was a great change of pace from having them just ride their tricycles around the block for exercise. My fearless little daughter had a blast trying to chase the geese. And my son loved just exploring and naming off everything that was in sight. I'm sure we will be back more now that Vegas is starting to loosen restrictions again. Tip: just be careful on the grassy area. Since the geese like to roam around, watch where you step. You don't want to be cleaning poop off your shoes. read more

I took my family here after getting sick of all the crowd and noise in Vegas. Even though the park is close to the city, it still felt very serene. I loved the open layout of the park and wide open walking/biking trails. I'm not sure how big the park is, but it seemed like it was about a mile to mile and a half in distance walking around the perimeter of the park. There are two loop trails. One is a paved trail on the upper (outside) area, and the other is a combination of dirt and paved surface on the lower (inner) level. Both trails are pretty flat so they are good for casual walking or biking. This park has a HUGE parking lot, two basketball courts, two volleyball courts (but no nets), picnic benches & tables, bathrooms, and sufficient grass area. There are lots of ducks and geese at the lake so just watch out for their poop. I took off one star because some of the informational signs were faded from the sun and were difficult to read. read more

I just relocated to town in the midst of the crazy pandemic, so it's been nice to take walks at this park with my dog and get some fresh air! We've gone on Saturday mornings and have enjoyed the paved paths and scenery. I haven't tried out any of the facilities yet, but the park seems to be very well kept. You can watch the geese and ducks on the lake, and I even spotted a little rabbit in the brush on my loop around. I'm so excited to come here for exercise and the beautiful sights. read more

I live right across the street from this park and I consider it a blessing. This park is always very clean, well lit and has ample amounts of parking if you plan on hosting an event. There are volleyball courts, basketball courts, a grassy area, some dessert space and a huge expansive lake. I think they're geese (could be totally wrong) and duck here that frequent/live at the lake. I would recommend it to anyone looking to host a summer BBQ because the grill area is covered. It's also great for night walks because all of the lights are bright LED and are motion activated. read more

There are two walking/biking trails (upper and lower) that goes around the lake/marsh where you can see the wildlife. Yelp 100 Challenge 26 Was looking for a local park to stretch my legs so came upon Cornerstone Park. I have to admit, I have never seen so much duck and goose poop in a park as I came upon here. It's heaviest in the grass close to the waterfront, just a heads up keep your eyes open and watch your step! It is a terrific park, beautiful basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, walking paths, bathrooms and ample parking We walked on the concrete path around the aquifer and noticed one of the trails closed as it appeared flooded from the recent rains, a most unusual site. Shade is limited, so bring your hats and sun screening while you enjoy the outdoors. read more

My favorite place to go for a run. I love everything about this part, to be honest. It's a nice little oasis in the Henderson area. Definitely worth checking out if you feel like escaping LV proper. There are a plethora of wildlife that gathers in the vicinity, which makes it a great place to go take some wildlife photos without leaving the city. The "lake" is also great. It kind of feels like you leave the desert when you are there. It can get pretty crowded during the day, especially in the spring and fall seasons, but it's also amazing to visit at night. I usually run in the evening and am hardly ever alone there. Most of the people that are around the area are also friendly. It's about 1 mile all the way around, has grills, picnic areas, and the like. read more

Huge clean park complete with grills and great covered picnic areas, big basketball court, volleyball court, trails for biking and jogging, and a cool man made lake/marsh where you can witness different species of waterfowl in their element. Anywhere that you can enjoy animals in their own natural surrounding, I am an instant fan. I got to get up real close to some Canadian Geese grazing on the grass with their little ones and we also walked along the lake and saw a family of Mallard Ducks, what looked like a Sandpiper, and a Moorhen species. It is totally therapeutic and very enjoyable doing so, but I have a big concern that irritates the F out of me!!! Hopefully The City of Henderson Parks and Recreation will enforce a rule that prohibits anyone from feeding the wildlife. If you've been to Hemenway Park in Boulder City, Big Horn Sheep come down during the hot summer months from the hillside to graze. You are allowed to see/watch them, but you aren't allowed to feed or come in contact with the sheep at any time or face a stiff fine. I strongly feel that the waterfowl that frequent Cornerstone Park should have the same respect! By feeding the wildlife, you are disrupting their way of life finding food for themselves. Observing them at close range when we first got there, all the geese were just fine grazing on the grass, bugs, and other insects. The ducks, moorhen, and sandpiper were seen also fending for themselves with insects and small fish in the lake/marsh area. They DO NOT need to be fed any type of human food, and by doing so, you are only letting them get accustomed to " human handouts" also contributing to future health issues, and even affecting their migratory process over the years. These creatures will also lose their fear of humans and become very aggressive. If you've been to Haunauma Bay on Oahu back in the day and tried to feed the fish while snorkeling you know what I'm talking about. (They have banned the feeding of fish for some time now) During our last few minutes at the park, I saw a family with a bag of hot dog buns heading towards the lake, and this other guy scatter a bag of popcorn all over the grass causing the geese to get aggressive with each other. Totally different scenario from when we first saw them. If no such rule gets enforced, it'll become a mess like Sunset Park and Aliante Nature Discovery Park is. I like this park I really do but it's too far and the trees aren't fully grown so there aren't a lot of natural shading. Plus it took a long time for them to build it. 1 star. haha come on now of course I'm only joking. It's probably my favorite park in the area. Located just north of 215 and Stephanie St, Cornerstone Park is a nice park where right in the middle you'll see a huge 31 acre lake that stretches across the entire park. You're not suppose to swim in the lake, so please don't, I don't even know if it's safe to but there are ducks, dragonflies, The lake is surround by a walking path so it is a nice peaceful walk if you do decide to however there aren't any water fountains or much shade along the path except for in the pavilion area. There'a two separate pavilion so there can be two parties going on at the same time. Both has heavy concrete tables and grills, bring your own charcoal and fire. Restrooms are usually clean. And there's electrical outlets. Large grass field, don't remember if it was fake or real grass. There's 2 lighted full court basketball courts and some sand volleyball pits. I've never seen it busy with what seems like enough parking to handle it if it got busy. read more

What a cool little park this is. It has a little bit of everything. A grassy area, volley ball court, basket ball courts, hiking, etc. I came here for the hiking. I guess it is more of a place to walk than really hike. There is an upper/outer trail that is paved and convenient. Then there is a lower unpaved/natural turf trail. This lower one goes closer to the lakes edge and provides great viewing of the many birds just chilling here. I took the lower trail to give more of the hiking feel. Here I saw a good variety of birds. Maybe four different duck species, Canadian geese, and sea gulls. There were some non-water fowl here too. Starlings, sparrows and the rest of the usual city birds. The park may be surrouned by urban development but with the lake, the marsh and all the animals, it feels like wilderness. Even where the urban world makes its presence know, there is nature. Like the little urban desert glacier of frozen runoff water coming into the lake. Cornerstone Park is well maintained and clean. The people visiting the park and hiking, much like myself, were so friendly. Nearly everybody I passed by bid me good morning. There were people walking, people jogging and people taking their dogs for a stroll. Regardless of their recreational status, they were all polite and courteous. It is refreshing to see in this spralling metropolis with little sense of community. read more

Such a cute park with lots of wildlife; ducks, various birds and an occasional geese. This park is huge and sits right on a small lake of water, making us super enjoyable to take a stroll around it while seeing the wildlife. The only downside is the grass and cement walking areas can get VERY dirty and covered in bird feces. I've never seen much staff there so this could be the reason but the ambiance itself makes it worth visiting and bringing your own chairs to sit in and watch the beauty of nature. read more

I'm so blessed to live by this gem. It has something for everyone. Some exercise groups do meet up here you are free to join them as well. Ride your bike, electric scooters, roller skate, walk your dogs etc. Gorgeous scenery to watch endless sunsets, walking/ running trails are open 24/7. They even have motion activated lights if you're walking at night. very safe, family oriented park. There's a picnic area, basketball courts, volleyball courts, duck/geese & dragonfly ponds. The animals will come up to you as they are used to humans, but I will advise to watch your children around the geese as they are large in size, will hiss and chase if they feel threatened. Please don't feed them , as it actually makes them sick. We later learned from a credible veterinarian. Since it is in a residential neighborhood, trash, excessively loud noise, violence etc. will not be tolerated. You will definitely have a lovely day & not be disappointed coming here. I love this park. It's huge! It's so wide open and it all centers around a man made lake. You can easily get two miles in at this park going around the lake. In a future tip I will measure the distance but I ran and fiddled around and easily got in two miles. They also hide rocks in this park so that is fun :) there are a lot of duck and geese at this park. A great place to walk your leashed dog. They also have sand volleyball courts (but there is no nets, bring your own?) they have a lit basketball court and bathrooms as well. I love this park. I love the huge wide open Grassfield the dogs can run in. They have plenty of picnic benches that are covered with awnings for shade. There is also a giant pond/lake/lagoon. It's not for swimming or water activities but the ducks have fun playing in it. The bathrooms and facilities are well-kept and comfortable as far as public restrooms go. Ok, I used to like coming to this park from time to time because of the running trail, ducks, and geese...until construction on all these new homes started up. They actually built a road INSIDE OF Cornerstone Park in the back where these new homes are, so they are now allowing people to drive through it. Who's bright idea was to do that? Ridiculous!!! We were not happy about it so we decided to send Clark County a letter protesting this new street. Of course they didn't listen. I'll be hanging out at Sunset Park now. read more

This a great park with an awesome view. It sit just off Stephanie, in Henderson. There is an Great walking pathway, with a cool staircase down to park level for all the cross fit fanatics. The park is still a hidden jewel, as it it's hardly crowded at all. It has a great green open area for family, and pet fun. Plus you can't beat the lake view and Black maintain in the background. The park is quiet, and has restrooms, and a food warming area. The Lake has fish but there is no fishing as the water is not safe to drink. read more

Nice park because the lake The lap around the whole park is about 1.25 miles so it's Easy for me to track. The only thing is the track is not all cement so some dirt roads was a problem with my little ones scooter but I ain't complaining! read more

Now is the perfect time to go for a run/walk at this park. The weather is not too hot, yet, and no longer too cold. The lake does make the wind a little chilly towards the night time but I certainly don't mind that! This place is huge! Large parking lot, bathrooms as clean as park bathrooms can be, shaded areas to sit and relax/picnic, grass area for the kids and pets, and a beautiful man made lake right in the middle to enjoy! There's even multiple paths to you can run/walk. I think twice around makes it a mile and some change? Some going up hill, another on the dirt for those who are trail runners. There's stairs on the south end of the park where you can do stair related workouts. Benches around the path if you intend to sight see or if you get tired of walking. They also have a sand volleyball court and a basketball court. I'm sure this place will be packed over the summer! ** Beware of the geese and the geese poop everywhere though! This is a beautiful park that has a man-made small lake At it's center and a walking/running trail sll the way around the lake! There are several covered picnic pavilions to enjoy that offer nice shade and a picnic table with a trash receptible and picnic table under each pavilion; gres for a family yO enjoy a weekend picnic with the kids. There are also lots of geese and goslings roaming freely about the grassy areas and sweet Ming in the water, which the kids will certainly love as natural entertainment! They also have public restrooms that are considerably glean gor a public park area. The very large pavilion offers enough roach y host a team ll outdoor event with plenty of shade and a concrete pad to ne'er the pavilion in case it might r Asian on your party/parade, so weather won't be a factor to worry about. If you want to pick up food for your picnic and not have to prepare in advance there are a few drive through fast food type restaurants less than 1 mile away from m this park. Perfect for that impromptu outing; a surprise date or surprise birthday party. I attended a community e vent at this park 1 month ago and was very impressed with how well run it was. iMC sponsored a family health event and there was plenty of room gor lots of vendors who set individual Canopus for each of their own booths. Nothing worse then a large bed of water in the middle of the desert that you can't use for anything. No fishing? No paddle boards? Dogs can't swim in it? DON'T TOUCH THE WATER!!!!! It seems to be a usless toilet bowl that is maintained by the city at taxpayers expense? What else would you expect from the government, I shouldn't be surprised. read more

Cornerstone has become our park of the month. It'll definitely be added to our park rotation! Located on the corner of Stephanie & Wigwam, this 100-acre park has a 31-acre man-made lake (not for swimming). There's cute packs of ducks here which the kids love. There are lighted paved asphalt and dirt trails perfect for walkers, runners, bicyclists, and dog-walkers, even a set of exercise stairs for those trying to get in a good cardio workout. Well-kept, clean, and very welcoming now that the weather is awesome! More good points: - Clean restrooms - Ample parking - Pet-friendly - doggy waste bags provided throughout whole park - Covered picnic areas - Picnic tables - Large pavilion areas (great to reserve for birthday parties!) - Lighted basketball/volleyball courts The only big bad point I can foresee about this park is the lack of shade, especially during the summer months. Unless you have a covered table area or under the pavilion, there aren't trees around to make shade if you decided to take a loop around. It does look like they'll be adding more to the park, so I hope shady areas will be one of them! My 5 year-old is loving this park, so our family will be enjoying our time here this coming spring and autumn. It's definitely a great spacious park to check out if you're in the area! read more
