Really nice park with plenty of seating throughout. They have a nice size playground area with swings and a functioning splash pad that we had fun running through on this very hot day. There were tons of families out. and was just a wonderful day for a Park visit. As you walk through the gardens so much moves me . The world seems to stop and be in this moment, just for me. This park hosts many different activities for children especially, including a park and baseball field. There is a park for the pups. For our veterans they offer a small rock garden to keep veterans in our memories . The rock garden art is beautiful. So many individuals have come together to share their ideas of love and kindness. The respect from this community exhibited exists because we all care . Come and show your support and appreciation for your freedom and all that we have, but take for granted . If you want to remember someone that you once loved or cared for you can always sponsor them on a bench or tree for all to see and share. Acacia park had made some new changes by taking big trees out and added several small trees along with loads of nice size rocks to have desert yard views. I do enjoy the bike lane when I'm walking my beagle where there's less people. When you walk pass the bike lane make it all the way up passing apartment complexes it connects to the bigger road to gas station and way back to my neighborhood street. I get my good steps in for the day when I make the full circle from the park then pass the apartment complexes and make my way back to my place by pacing myself. Just make sure to do the run during day time now that it gets darker fast in the winter afternoon. read more

Acacia is a large, well-maintained park with a great variety of activities. The large parking lot is conveniently centered in the park. I've never had an issue finding parking here. The park is clean and everything is in great shape. This park seems to have full time employees dedicated to cleaning and maintaining the park. This park offers two playgrounds (one for smaller kids), a small splash pad, tennis courts, a garden, a dog park, a baseball field, and plenty of open grassy areas. This connects up to the main walking/biking trail in the area. Bonus points for current construction in the area so there are often construction vehicles at work to watch. There are also lots of chipmunks to watch in the rocky area under the bridge past the garden. I love the variety of activities here when I'm looking for a long park trip with my toddler. Acacia has two pavilions available for rental for special events. We've been to a couple of birthday parties here and the pavilions are perfectly located for kid parties. They're right by the playground, splash pad, and bathrooms. This area can get very crowded if you happen to come when parties are taking place. Bathrooms are located between the parking lot and the playground/splash pad. They're as clean as a park bathroom can be. Acacia definitely offers something for all ages! read more

Acacia Demonstration Gardens in Henderson, NV offers a lovely park experience with its open areas. I have deterred many of my recent visits to this park because of occasional weed/marijuana smoking around the playground. I don't think that's right to do around young children. the strong odor is particularly bothersome. Despite this, the park's appeal is clear, and given the growing residential area, adding another playground nearby could alleviate overcrowding. The park's popularity for birthday parties adds a fun element to its charm. read more

They have Acacia Park and Acacia Demonstration Gardens. Great location with lots of grassy area for soccer and/or flag football. There is also a baseball field that some use the outfield for flag football in the baseball off season. Plenty of parking. Some of the parking overlooks the fields just in case you are freezing during winter practice and want to watch your kids practice. read more

A beautiful little gem of a park, located next to the highway in Henderson. This place was put here by the city to show us all some demonstrations of desert landscaping. We all have to do our part and practice sustainable landscaping. There were a lot of cool plants and animals here. I will definitely be back for birding. There were some sweet dogs at the dog park. There are open green fields, a dog park, and a baseball field. A lot of the amenities in this park are heightened by the beauty of the park. Parks like this are what make life in Henderson better. read more

This was a super cool spot! We were in the area, enjoying the curbside life, and we yearned for a walk with the puppo. Stopped here to walk along the trail that apparently leads all the way to Boulder City and follows along a railroad. Super cool! In addition, there are several mini gardens and cultivated desert plants with labels so you can learn about some interesting flora! I loved the canary date palm. So many other cool plants - saguaro cacti, pomegranate trees, etc. It was so peaceful at magic hour with few people to disturb us although we were still decked out in PPE. Acacia Demonstration Gardens is a beautiful garden spot in the shadow of the Henderson Spaghetti Bowl and the Horizon Ridge Parkway residential communities in the foothills of Black Mountain*. When you are driving on eastbound I-215 onto Southbound US 93/95/I-515 and are picking up speed to merge, you are driving above Acacia Demonstration Gardens which would be on your right. Acacia Demonstration Gardens is a 16 acre parkland of gardens and recreation. The gardens toward the east of the park occupy approximately four acres. First I'll talk about the gardens. Acacia is a demonstration garden because its mission is to demonstrate the kinds of trees, flowers, and plants that can survive in the heated climate of the Mojave Desert. The gardens are themed exhibits with informative signs that introduce the public to the horticulture and fauna of the Mojave Desert. The gardens include an Allergy Friendly Garden, Cactus Garden, Wildlife Friendly Garden, and Mediterranean Garden. These are pockets of Tranquility to sit on a bench and breath in the clean aroma of the plants. The plants include the Joshua Tree, beavertail cactus, quail Bush, and dwarf pomegranate. A TIP: The Allergy Friendly Garden COULD be the most allergy free and nicest smelling spot in the Las Vegas Valley. Sitting here was a five star aroma therapy session . And sitting here I LEARNED that the creosote bush is the ultimate Bush for a sneeze free yard. I also learned from my research that the plants that smell like bubble gum are Mountain Laurels. Acacia Demonstration Gardens is also the home to some adorable critters. In the wash I have laid eyes on antelope squirrels and rabbits. Acacia Demonstration is a remonstration of the stereotype that freeways destroy neighborhoods. From the gardens and recreation areas, the Henderson Spaghetti Bowl towers above the parkland as a work of modernism art. Now I will talk about the remainder of the park. Between the recreation fields and playgrounds are the two dog parks. To the west of the dog parks are the green spaces of a soccer field, baseball field, and playground. Foot trails, benches, and picnic tables are interspersed throughout the park. The last thing I want to say is that Acacia Demonstration Gardens is a jewel in the Henderson paved trail system. The Union Pacific Trail feeds into the park from the east and the Beltway Trail feeds into it from the west. These are first-rate trails. You can park at Acacia Trail then use the Union Pacific Trail that reaches just southwest of Railroad Pass to get near the Fiesta, Downtown Henderson, the stores at College and Horizon, and Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area. Or you can use the Beltway Trail to reach Stephanie Street that leads to Cornerstone Park on the north side of I-215. I have been to Acacia Demonstration Gardens several times since I moved here in 2004. It has usually been a stop on the hikes that I did on the Union Pacific and Beltway Trails. It has also been a garden spot where I chose to relax and breath in nature's aroma therapy. I also spent time here during the year that I lived nextstore in Black Mountain Villas. Acacia Demonstration Gardens is in bloom 365 days of year. The gardens themselves are lovely. A nice little oasis in the desert. We saw multiple bunnies & chipmunks. Theres a dogpark in this area too only drawback is if you dont know its there, youll never find it. Id rate this area a 5. The playground was just average - a 3. Averaged together you get a 4. It features the typical park amenities such as swing set, baseball field, covered picnic areas, grassy field, etc. It also features two dog parks and the aforementioned demonstration gardens. A bike and running trail runs directly through Acacia, and you can often see bikers, runners, and walkers passing through. I enjoy Acacia park because of the demonstration gardens. Here you can walk through various examples of trees and other foliage which is native to our area, with plaques featuring interesting information about the various vegetation. Although there are numerous parks in the area, Acacia is one of a small number which offers a dog park. In this case, it is two identical dog parks. Although they aren't large, they do allow pets to get out and run. Overall, this is a great addition to the Henderson experience. read more

The park is one big trail that you can walk while looking at beautiful vegetation/dessert plants and trees. Two small dog parks and some very upkeep baseball fields. Beware of coyotes and wildlife although not so much in the wild we ran into a coyote so if you're walking your little pets be cautious. Other than that such a nice upkept park. read more

This is a great park that overlooks the I-515 / I-215 interchange. It has connections to the Union Pacific Railroad Trail, and a dog park. It also has a nice looking baseball field, soccer field, and a tennis court that is lit at night. But if you have a 3 year old this place has a pretty enjoyable playground and a small water area that makes for a lot of fun on a summer day. A small shelter house with concrete picnic tables gives you a place to setup for a small picnic lunch, or if you go after dark the play area and shelter house was pretty well lit up and we felt safe here. . Overall Acacia is just another reason why I like living in Henderson. read more

A hidden Henderson gem! Hubs and I took the baby boy (our 11 year old dog, Cody) here for some dog park action. There are the standard 2 dog park areas - one for the big guys and one for the littles. They're situated next to each other and each have the helpful and safe double entry. They're not huge but are big enough for your dog to get a good run in. There are benches throughout each dog area and of course poop bag stations and even scoop brooms if your best friend has the runs (pick up after your dog, people!). There are water fountains for you and your dog although the doggy one was full of water that wasn't draining and I wouldn't personally let my dog drink from a bowl that's had standing water in it and about 7 dozen other dogs drinking from it. Ick. Water bottle and bowl from home to the rescue! My only complaint about the dog park area was the lack of grass in the large dog run. There was a big patch of artificial grass right inside the gate and the rest of the run was patches of dry, dead grass mixed with large dirt areas. I don't know if the grass was in such poor shape because it's winter-time in Vegas or what but I really think parks and rec could do a better job of at least keeping the grass spread throughout. The dirt and artificial grass were a real turn off. The rest of the park is nice. It has a large walking trail around the outside edge and the demonstration gardens are full of interesting and beautiful desert landscaping. There's a baseball field, a large empty grass field and plenty of parking. We saw a picnic tables and thought it would be a nice park for a family get together. All in all, this is a secluded park that has yet to be touched by the overpopulation of Las Vegas. We'll be back. I mean, that's the bosses orders. And by the boss, I mean the dog, Cody. read more

Beautiful park, with lots of stuff to look at. The actual dog park is pretty small and gets hot in the summer, but there is a large open field to play catch in. Just remember to pick up after your dog! Three Pokemon gyms which were all a solid lvl10 (blue) when I was last there. A very nice lady who lives nearby even came down to help me battle the gym, and she already had her Pokemon in it. How kind! read more

This park is cool cus it has a 2 sides 1 for big dogs and 1 for small but if u have both no 1 has a problem w/ you bring your dog on either side! I came to Vegas for a week vacation and brought my hand cycle with me, as I am in a wheelchair. I found Acacia on the trail link website. I started in the parking lot and a concrete pathway led me to asphalt bike trail. Its a very safe place. You follow bike trail, which is paved, under the freeway, across a street, but well marked and easy. Another mile, with rest places along the way, drinking fountains, etc. Not a busy path at all. There is not much shade so plan accordingly. For visiting and randomly finding this place, it turned out to be a great ride. read more

I really like this park. So first off, it has a dog park (why else would I go to a park if there was no place for the dog to run, seriously?), and that gets it major points. When I moved back to the Henderson area, I went searching for this place and I'm glad I found it again. It's off Horizon Ridge east of Gibson a bit in a residential area. The dog park here is on the small side but it's well-lit, clean, and there are poop-bag dispensers and a working water fountain at dog height. Yay! Also, for the most part, the people and the dogs tend to be pleasant. So the rest of the park is pretty awesome too! The acacia gardens provide a really soothing walk, though it is wise to keep your dog on a short leash because there are bunnies and quail that dart around. I like the bunnies and the quail, so the dog is kept firmly in check. There are large grass fields where I've seen soccer leagues and dog obedience trials going on, and the walk around the park is, again, well-lit and clean. Also, the parking is plentiful! Again, I really like this park and I'm glad to have rediscovered it. read more

I live very close to this park. It is very green and has many activities. There is a water play ground, basket ball court, baseball diamond, two dog parks and lots of desert greenery. It's a great place to relax and an excellent trail for walking, running or biking. I would give it a five but recently I have noticed the maintenance has gone down at the park. (More trash and no trimmings of bushes). They give the main area of the park lots of attention but wish they would clean up the exterior where it seems all the trash collects. I would recommend it for a daily walk, picnic or just to take the kids or doggies to play. read more

A great park in the middle of town. It has a beautiful view of the mountains, tons of gardens, basketball courts, baseball field, paths for kids to scooter on, picnic tables and lots of benches in shade. I really enjoy Acacia's dog park. It's got really nice grass and has two separate areas for large and small dogs! They have a doggy drinking fountain too thats nice. I love the Acacia Gardens and the park. The gardens are to the right when you drive into the park parking lot. The landscaping is beautiful and there are many photo opportunities here. When you walk the gardens you will come to a path and bridge the bikers use where when you look out you will see the Fiesta of Henderson across on the other side off the 215. When you look down at the rocks you see hundreds of chipmunks which can be a little like a horror flick possibly called Attack the Chipmunks. The kids love to watch them. When you walk on the path to the park area you come to a dog area with a fenced area for large dogs and small dogs to play. Then to the right you have the baseball diamonds and to the left a big grass area where you can fly a kite or sunbathe. Then walking straight to the play area which as a swing set, water features and two structures, one for the real little ones and one for the older kids. There are two areas that are covered and can be rented for parties and the restrooms were clean and actually had doors on the bathroom stalls and toilet seats. I just love this park.
