Great park for many outdoor activities! This is a really great park for any age. They have a nice paved trail surrounding the water. I love to use this for running and biking. Along the route you'll pass picnic areas, basketball courts and well kept grassy areas. They don't want you to feed the birds as you will see many of them hanging out either in the grass or taking a swim. They have plenty of paved parking to this beautiful setting. Pleasantly surprised to discover this park! Came for a UYE for Ife's birthday- we had a potluck picnic at one of the covered tables. The fact that the tables are covered is noteworthy, and there are plenty of trash and recycling receptacles. Grills were also nearby and clean, and there were bathroom and water fountain facilities here as well. Water level seems to be down right now (then again, it's the middle of summer)- but there were still ducks present. PSA: Don't feed ducks bread, it's not good for them; instead, bring halved grapes, cracked corn/barley/oats/grain, or actual bird seed/duck feed pellets. The more you know! For a Sunday afternoon, this place was completely deserted- a few teenagers on scooters came by but it's not the hoppin' place I'd expect given that it's surrounded by subdivisions. Good choice for grilling out with a group, they have everything you need along with nearby convenience and grocery stores to stock up on supplies or grab things you forgot. read more

We first visited this park when it was still under construction last year. The Trails Day Celebration was held here and it was far from completion at that time. Fast forward to today and it is a beautiful park with a great 1+ mile loop around a cute pond that is home to a few families of ducks, geese and other birds. Unlike Sunset Park, it has lights along the path that circles the pond and has less shrubbery and such. As a woman, I would feel safer running or walking here instead of Sunset Park when it is in the evening. It does not have as much as Sunset has to offer, but it has a few covered picnic tables, some that are off to themselves (Perfect for a romantic picnic). It has clean restrooms and SOAP in the bathroom. NOTE TO PARKS AND REC - I appreciate the water and toilet, but soap is great too! Heritage Park and Sunset Park do not have soap. There is a basketball court and sand volleyball/badminton court, so don't forget your shuttlecock! Game on! I am anxious to visit this park at dusk. Enjoy! I love this park. It's such a pleasant surprise that such a beautiful park is situated between the busy Stephanie Street and residential areas. When we first moved to town this park was behind our apartment. I'm not sure I would have noticed it otherwise. The park can be accessed from Wigwam where there is a large parking lot or by coming over from The Arroyo Grande Sports Complex. The trail runs around all of the water areas and offers some nice scenery for your run or walk. When I ran here I usually had to lap a couple of times to get a decent workout. The trail once probably isn't enough. The distance could also be extended by connecting up with the Arroyo Grande Park or Pittman Wash. There are picnic tables for people that want to enjoy a meal or rest and take in some nature. It'd be a nice place to bring kids for a picnic. Check out this park, you'll be surprised to find a park like this in Las Vegas. read more

My wife and I have been coming here more frequently because we can enjoy traffic-free walks on a longer walking trail that is well lit at night. The park is never really that crowded and isolated enough from the hustle and bustle of Stephanie St. where we can still hear the sounds of bird calls and ourselves when we converse. There's plenty of parking after you descend from the entrance on Wigwam. You'll see a large covered picnic area and three or four other smaller covered areas that are available for rental. Just check the Henderson Parks and Rec website for details. Unfortunately, once the scorching days of summer roll around, these will be the only places where you'll be able to get reprieve from the sun. There's a large grass area for the dog's to roam around or to sit and relax. Be on the lookout for those special gifts left by our feathered friends. The lighted basketball court and sand volleyball courts allow you to enjoy your games well after sunset. We usually walk the outer paved trailed which is lined with motion sensitive lighting and allows us to come at night and still feel safe. According to my GPS, the outer trail measures around 1.25 miles. That length isn't any good for long runs, but it's good for adding a little challenge to your interval work. There is some elevation gain at the south and east ends of the trail and the set up of the park gives a wind tunnel effect adding challenge provided by the elements. But if you are interested in more distance, the northwest corner of the trail now connects to the Arroyo Grande Sports Complex where you can hook up to the trail along Pittman Wash. They are building some homes along the eastern side of trail, but they are gated and shouldn't interfere too much. read more

There are several playgrounds with cool equipment (even a purple dinosaur), basketball courts, several nicely appointed ball fields, horseshoe pit, dirt bike trails, a dog park, disc golf, a neat bridge to cross, bathrooms & picnic tables. And of course hiking trails. Not very crowded either which I like. The playgrounds have shade, also a plus. Well kept grounds too. I give it 5 stars, which I do for most (but not all) Henderson parks. read more

I love Cornerstone Park! The park is really big, with really wide walking paths. Bikes, strollers, walkers and pups can all co-exist with the wide trails. There is a nice pond, grass area and basketball courts on the far side of the pond. My German Shepherd loves the dirt trails and checking out the park wildlife (rabbits, geese and ducks). The only negative is some people don't pick up tgeir dog's poop. There are a ton of bag stations, but too many people don't pick up after their pups. read more

Stopped in yesterday for a UYE for Ife A's birthday potluck yesterday. This park is nice! There was a HUGE shaded area with picnic tables and a couple grills that we used. Thank goodness for the shade! Everything seemed super clean, although I didn't check the bathrooms. I was very surprised at how empty it was, although it was 111 degrees yesterday... The park also has several trails, my fella said that he used to come down with his dog a couple years ago and they would walk the trails. All in all, this seems to be a great place to come hang out when it isn't roasting outside. I'd like to stop out in the spring! read more

Corner Stone Park - A beautiful retreat in the middle of the desert. This is the perfect place to visit if your looking for a relaxing spot to run and explore. There was no playground, but my kids enjoyed riding their scooters and bikes. The lake is surrounded by several different trails some paved and others not. The winding trails and various terrains are great for creating different workouts. This also was great for my kids running up and down the hills. There is no shade on the trails,but not much of a problem this time of year. The views of the birds on the lake as well as the views of the mountains in the distance make this feel like an experience not a work out. It's very relaxing. There are benches throughout the park, great for just taking in the sights. There are also basket ball courts, and nets for volley ball. Two big areas with picnic tables are covered and conveniently located near rest rooms. Looks like a perfect place to grill and picnic. In addition there are individual covered tables right near the water. Nice for a midday picnic with the family. There is plenty of parking. The park is very clean. The other patrons were very friendly and respectful. Not crowded at all . read more

A great neighborhood park! A mile long (+/-) walking trail that I use for walking my dog or riding my bike around for exercise. they have Bbq grills. It's home to numerous birds and ducks.The one negative is there is always a lot of poop from the ducks on the sidewalks. It is a great place to come for a walk, play basketball, take your kids or have parties! There is so much to do at this park! I love that this park is always clean! It shoes that the city values this park but also that the visitors very much respect it! There is a ton of parking here! There is also a large grass area where you could bring your dogs and kids! Great park for walking / jogging ... beautiful for exercise or just to get away and relax

I'm trying to train my dog to properly walk on a leash. He's still a puppy but he's rather large. He gets extremely excited when he sees other people or dogs because he wants attention and wants to meet them and so he tends to pull on the leash but it's nothing that I can't handle. He listens to me and sits and calms down on command. The reason for the low rating is because of a middle aged man who felt as though that he needed to personally take his aggression out on me and my dog. Apparently his dog had been attacked by another dog not too long ago at this park and he felt as though my dog was too "aggressive" because he was pulling on a leash a bit. I'm young and every time he came by me he had to make rude comments about me and my dog. He went as far as to threaten carrying his gun on him to make sure he could shoot any dogs that were showing "aggression" in his opinion. I will no longer be coming to this park. I felt harassed and picked on and it was completely unwarranted when my dog had done NOTHING wrong. I did not feel safe and was near tears because I have never had any kind of issue with my dog around other people, children, or other animals. Watch out for this man who now has a fear of larger dogs. read more

I love Cornerstone Park, it's a beautiful walk in the morning and evening time. I'm so incredibly lucky to be right next to this little gem of a park! It's a estuary so you are able to see and hear the many types of birds who flock to this area! The park is dog friendly and it takes about 30 minutes to walk around at a leisurely pace buts it's alway very good for runners as well! This is a daily morning walk for my dog and I. read more

the park gets a 5 star, but the people get a 1 star. Park is awesome for dogs, but it was very disappointing to see all the dog poop. It was EVERYWHERE! i feel terrible for people with children who want to play on the grass. Shame on those dog owners who don't pick up after their dogs and who seriously don't think about anyone else. I seen a couple of doggy poop bag dispensers, there placement is not optimal but they are available nonetheless. All in all I am sad to see such a great park neglected due to careless and irresponsible dog owners. Again... non of this has to do with the park itself.... this is about the dig owners. I suggest that park official reevaluate placement of poop bad dispensers and post a sign (which shouldn't have to be done because owners should pick up after their dogs) a sign that reads "please pick up after your dog" read more

I agree with the other review. The park itself gets 5 stars but why can't people keep it nice!?! I brought my 7 month old here to play in the grass and have some fresh air. There were people smoking. There were cigarette butts ALL over the grass area along with dog poop. Also people letting their dogs run loose with no leash running up to my BABY. I would not return unless i wanted to strictly walk by myself, unfortunately. read more

The City of Henderson's premier city park. This park is a great place to walk, Run, jog and ride your bike. I love taking my dog to Cornerstone for a long walk. This park is great for community events and special events. I ran my first 100 mile ultra marathon race there on a two mile course around the lake. A beautiful setting for an event! I love this park! It's really clean, has trails, is well-maintained and has a giant man-made lake! You can't swim in the lake (well, I guess you could if you really wanted to), but in the fall, there are ducks that love to swim in it and hang out on part of the trail. They are pretty cute. A few of these trails circle around the lake. In the spring and fall/winter, you can often times find bikers and joggers on them. There are covered picnic tables will grills right next to them. My bf used one of them to make hot dogs and hamburgers for my birthday party. There is plenty of grass as well, so it you are the type of person that likes to throw a football around or have a picnic, then you will like this. My only wish was that there could be more trees planted where the grass is for shade. The bathrooms are fairly decent. They actually have toilet paper and soap/running water in the sinks! Most parks don't seem to really care about providing that, but Cornerstone keeps theirs up. read more

Officially open as of 30 minutes ago!!! After a much anticipated opening, they removed the barricades this morning. This park is a gem. The Pond, which is actually ground water unearthed years ago by the open pit gravel mine at this location, is a great habitat by water fowl and other birds and wildlife in the area. The Canadian Geese are the watchdogs of the place. So far with the completion of phase one of the park there is a 1.3 mile trail around the water, two large basketball courts, two sand volleyball courts, two corporate BBQ/picnic areas, five individual BBQ/picnic areas overlooking the water, large bathrooms, Rental facilities for large groups, and a large grassy area (dog owners please use the baggies!). I expect this park to be home to many future memories of friends and families enjoying nature and their time together. There are plans for this park to be a destination for City festivals and celebrations. Let's keep this place clean and enjoyable for all! read more

This is a very nice park where I utilize the walking trails with my dog from time to time. It does have Basketball courts, and a grass field as well, tables to sit, etc. It's rarely ever crowded when I go so it's always been a nice visit for me to be able to 'get away' and have some fairly quiet nature time. read more

Cornerstone is such a great park. Clean, well maintained, and unlike anything else in Henderson. The park offers a lot to visitors; grills with covered picnic areas, basketball/volley ball courts, multiple paths and trails, and of course the very cool man made lake/marsh. There are plenty of geese and ducks living it up in the marsh so watch out for all of the bird crap around them. Its great to see all the birds but remember its prohibited to feed them. Located off Wigwam and Arroyo Grande, Cornerstone is in a friendly and safe neighborhood. The picnic areas have always been clean and offer a nice view of the lake. The courts and jogging trails are well maintained and the park is rarely busy. Definitely one of the better parks in the area. read more

This park has become my favorite spot to relax as of late... We Hendersonians are rather spoiled when it comes to walking trails. Not only are there plenty to choose from in the city, but most are well taken care of and offer nice ambiance along the way. This park has it all. The lake was the driving point for me. Perhaps being born and raised in the desert and being deprived of any hint of naturally occurring water has made me accustomed to such appreciation. You can feed the ducks or enjoy their company from a distance while you walk or ride your bike along the perimeter. There are also basketball and volleyball courts, a sizable field and segregated tables that offer more privacy than the usual setting of many crowded together under a tent. I really enjoyed discovering this place! I do not live on that side of town, but I was staying with someone who does. I had to go for a run and I knew that Arroyo park is there. So I started there thinking I was going to just head up Pitman, but I got lost and ended up finding a trail that leads to the Cornerstone Park! It is a bit confusing at first, but if you just keep going, underneath the railroad, you reach the park. Let me tell you how beautiful I think this park is, especially being in Vegas. It is huge! At least it is the biggest park I have seen yet besides Sunset. It has multiple trails that lead you around the pond. I mean I would say it is bigger then a pond, but in reality its a pond. It reminds me of the Wetlands, but more open. It has geese and ducks all around, watch out for their poop, or leave your shoes outside when you go home! It has typical park amenities, i.e. basketball court, picnic tables, etc. But again, my favorite part is just the openness of the park and how amazing it is to run there. You can take paths that go uphill, or just stay leveled on the lower ones. You can get close to the water, but do not trip and fall in! It is great for dogs, kids, bikes (be mindful of others please), and it really is not to far from Arroyo Park! I did find out there is a trail path along side the railroad tracks, so that might be my next discovery! read more

The pros: large grass area, volleyball and basketball courts, covered picnic area, not crowded on Saturday evening. The cons: very little shade, small park overall compared to Sunset Park, Pokestops are few and far between, not many Pokémon spawning, not crowded = not many lures going. Whether or not you like this park will depend largely on what you wish to do there. It seems like a lovely place for taking a relaxing walk or run away from the hustle, bustle, and crowds of the city. But, for Pokémon Go, I'd skip it and head somewhere else. read more

My vizslas and I love being able to walk around a body of water (without having to drive to Lake Mead - where you still can't walk around the water...) and watch the waterfowl - particularly the babies! There are sand volleyball courts, baseball courts, lots of covered picnic areas - and a wonderful path - with lots of options to keep things interesting. We love it! A big park that not a lot of people know about. Opened just a few years ago Cornerstone is still kind of a unknown spot in Henderson. Which is great if you don't like a spot that's super crowded like Sunset Park. Anyways this park is more for relaxing than it is for entertainment and kids. Some people bitch because there is no playground for kids but boo hoo there's a million parks in Henderson that have them go take them somewhere else. What makes this place unique is the little lake, being in the desert it's always refreshing to see a body of water. The lake attracts a lot of birds, so bring your camera if you want to get some great birding shots. There's also a basketball court, volleyball court a huge shaded picnic area and my personal favorite single shaded picnic spots with BBQ grills that face the lake. This is a great place to exercise with a large grass area for soccer and nice paved path that circles around the lake makes for a nice workout. I've had countless summer BBQ's here this is the perfect spot to bring family and friends. Just remember your citronella in the summer time when the bugs come out. This place has a huge parking lot so finding a good spot is never an issue. If you have yet to pay this place a visit i suggest you do, go experience something new , it just might end up being a new favorite spot. I would say with the marsh/pond/lake this is a very special and unique park in Henderson. I have been to a birthday here and for a 5K event. This just goes to show that this park has many uses. Yay to bathrooms. The covered BBQ areas/tables are nice for a special occasion. All that grass is great to lay down on, run around on, and it sure is a beautiful color. Just be careful because it can be dangerous with all the bird droppings. There are plenty of paved paths to walk, jog, run, or ride your bike on. Having the birds as part of the park is awesome for people to see nature up close, but there should be NO feeding of the wildlife at all. Parking is plenty and with the park being near the freeway that is helpful as well. There are basketball courts and sand volleyball courts. Trash cans are numerous and they even have recycling bins- so there is no excuse for a dirty park. Street lights line many of the paths and walkways so that is great for late night strolls. Bring a hat and maybe some sunscreen as the trees are not very big and the path around the marsh does not provide for shade. read more

This is my dog's favorite park to go to...seriously, he's constantly begging me to bring him here. Cornerstone Park has a lot of the things he loves...a large open lush grassy area for him to run around, roll around, and pee on. Lots of trees and beautiful plant life, for him to pee on. It also has a nice dirt and paved trails around it's lake for him to sniff at, bark at other dogs and oh yeah, pee everywhere. I only walk my dog here, but it seems like a great place to get your jog on, or your bike on. There's even basketball courts and some sand filled volleyball pits. If the sporting thing is not for you they have a bunch of covered picnic areas with BBQ grills, all overlooking the this tranquil lake (very cool as the sun's setting) and all it's wildlife. Which brings me to the geese and ducks, they're everywhere around this lake. And they love to be fed, so bring all your stale bread and have at it...but, if the geese start hissing, you're too close and if you're feeding them up on the paved and sidewalk areas, watch out for the goose poops. In fact, watch out for poop in general...irresponsible dog owners let their animals defecate freely and don't bother picking up after them, even though the trails are equipped with those little bag dispensers. I guess they think it's like fertilizer or something. It's not, people...it's gross. Cornerstone Park is little hidden gem in the middle of Henderson, if you want to get away from the crowds at Sunset Park. So, bring your dogs, bring your kids and enjoy some nature. And please, clean up after your pets (and kids...) read more
