Shame on the Simi Unified School district for picking a company that puts almost 0 effort into the effort of quality. This is the only company our school forces us to use, and they are a completely rip off. They couldn't even have my child fix their hair, and they want to charge me 185 dollars for crap pictures. How has Cornerstone remained contracted by MUSD for school photos? I finally just ordered a small package and digital download of my daughter's kindergarten photo. She's mid blink in the picture. You could've reshot that. That's just lazy. I haven't spoken to another parent that's impressed with their photography. School photos aren't meant to be of the highest quality but come on. As "professional" photographers you ought to be able to produce one decent image of each child. Thankfully with the digital download, I can fix their armature hour quality. read more

This was the photographer for my kids school photos. I was upset to find they left a sticker on my childs shirt front and center. I called and asked to see if they check to see if a child doesnt have items on them for a nice photo and she confirmed that they dont check things like that. The most unprofessional, untrained , unkind, rude, insensitive bunch of idiots... obviously an easy job to acquire without any knowledge. School pictures were unclear, shots of children blinking, sneezing, or looking away. Adult staff photos taken without adjustment to camera for adult height is pure laziness! Seasonal photo promotions are inappropriate and somewhat suggestive for young children poses. So many other PROFESSIONAL companies to choose from. Just received my daughter's school picture. I was not impressed. Having just taken my own school pictures I know that our photographers spent time trying to get a great shot for parents. They took multiple shots until they got a good one. This company seems to have taken one shot and done. Did they bother trying to get a good shot or were they just rushing to get through? Zero stars is more accurate based on customer service. They are the photographer for my child's school and despite ordering photos and paying a month ago and seeing other children's photos delivered immediately, I still don't have them. I got an email that said they shipped, though they did not. I called and was told they were "on their way", though they were not. On my second call they admitted they were never sent and they "reordered" them. On my third call they admitted they still had not been sent and it was because their lab in Tennessee was to blame, but they promised to call and give me an update. They didn't. On my third call they said "they supposedly shipped yesterday" however they have no proof and no tracking. They have no idea what they are doing and clearly do not care to fix it. read more

Sad to say but this place will charge for any little change on your pictures, anything to up the sale. Schools need to invest in photographers who will do as they did back in the days. Zero stars if possible. BUYER BEWARE-- they put their logo on your photos whether you like it or not! Our son's school uses this company for school photos. Unfortunately, in order to see the photos of your child, you must first purchase their pictures. If you wait to see the photo they take of your kid first before making the decision to purchase, you are charged a late fee. We purchased their most expensive package-- paying $60 plus tax for one image of our child printed in several sizes, and to gain access to the class photo (which is really the photo that was most important to us). Who are we kidding, school photos always turn out awful. We received our printed photos that included the class picture. Cornerstone Photography places their logo on the class photo. When I called to see if this was a mistake--- that maybe they watermarked it accidentally, I spoke to a Sandy in the school portrait department. Ultimately, I receive a phone call back from her saying she spoke to the owner of the company. Her excuse for them stamping their logo on the photo I PURCHASED from them was that they've "always done that" and that it's "never bothered anyone before". She told me that they will continue to place their logo on purchased images in the future and then reneged on her offer from our first phone conversation to remove the logo and reprint the class photo for me. She then told me that she had contacted the school. Not sure why I would care? Maybe the school will realize how ridiculous this is and will decide to go with a different company. Fingers crossed. My husband is a professional photographer and he's never heard such a thing. When a client purchases your work, you don't place your logo on it. Poor customer service. They could remove this logo in a matter of seconds and they should. Absolutely ridiculous. Who in their right mind would want to stare at the Cornerstone Photography company logo every time they look at the picture they paid to own a copy of. Logos and watermarks are for examples and previews--to prevent image theft, not for purchased images. Their brochure that shows samples of what you will receive does not show a logo stamped on the class photo. Come on guys, this is just plain common sense. You aren't gaining more clientele this way. All you're doing is steering possible repeat business away. And quite frankly, your too bad, don't care attitude makes me want to offer my husband's services FOR FREE to the entire school--- with FREE PRINTING RIGHTS to ALL FAMILIES of the children that attend just to make a point. read more

Cornerstone just did my child's school photo. I purchased the digital download and noticed after the watermark was removed that a hair was on her face. I called asking if I could pay to have it removed and get a new download. Kassandra was AMAZING. Not only did she have her editor fix that one hair but they did all the wispy ones around her head then sent me the download for no additional cost. For a mom who has dealt with all the challenges of this year, it was beyond kind to have someone help me just cause. Thank you Kassandra and Cornerstone team. You are all wonderful! Cornerstone deserves five stars all the way. Recently brought my babies there for their newborn photos. They're twins and they're not easy for me to handle, let alone a photography staff. We arrived and the staff had a waiting room ready for us, plus private changing rooms in case they wanted us to change outfits for one of the shots. Peter, the photographer, and his stylists/baby handlers did a marvelous job posing the kids to get the cutest shots from just the right angles. They also have a ton of patience as the kids became fussy on more than 1 occasion during the shoot. We could tell the staff also does their homework on their photo subjects. They had a darling new wood basket (we joked about the price tag still on it) and a plush blanket to fill it and place the babies on for the quintessential 'naked baby in a basket' shot. At the start, se weren't sure how many different settings they would put the babies in for different looks to the photos, but in all they set up 4 or 5 unique looks, including an awesome family portrait. Not sure if that's standard but the photos turned out spectacularly. Since we had the shoot done just before the holidays, we also had the Cornerstone staff design and put together our Christmas card. Holiday cards are never a competition but ours rocked thanks to Cornerstone. We received countless compliments on it. We skimmed through some of their portfolio books in the lobby and looks like they do a lot of high school senior photos (hence all the photos on their Yelp page). We were also impressed with their wedding, engagement and other types of pro photos, too. Can't go wrong with Cornerstone. Professional all the way. read more

Cornerstone is AMAZING! My older daughter was required by her high school in Thousand Oaks to take her Senior yearbook photo at a photo studio in Ventura with hopes once we had her dressed up for this picture we'd also have her sit for her senior photos. We were not only disappointed in the quality of the pictures (not one of them captured my daughters smile or spirit) their pricing was outrageous. We decided to have Cornerstone Photography do a Senior photo shoot for her and there were so many GREAT shots we had a problem choosing the ones we liked the best!!! This was 5 years ago and we've been fortunate to have Cornerstone Photography the photographer of choice at our elementary school for my 2 younger children. Now we have our family holiday pictures taken by Cornerstone every year! Our family pictures have been taken in the studio in Moorpark as well as at the beach and at a friends ranch. They've all turned out incredible! Peter and his staff make it such a wonderful experience to have our pictures taken each year! It's hard with a family of 6 to have all of us look wonderful for 1 shot, it's next to impossible to have not only 1 shot but many shots to choose from! I don't like how they send kids home from school with a bunch of photos that just get thrown away if you don't decide to order them. It's a waste of paper and ink, and it's a bummer they are basically trying to guilt parents in to buying photos. I much prefer school photography companies that send a child home with one photo and the parents can decide if the want to order more without them wasting paper. We should be teaching our kids to not be wasteful. read more

My son is a senior at Moorpark High School and had to have his senior portrait taken during COVID restrictions. The staff at Cornerstone were amazing! We arrived a few minutes early and they had everything clean and waiting for my son to review and sign. They only allowed one family into the waiting area at a time. All items were cleaned and staff was very helpful and friendly. When it was time to take photos, the photographer was amazing! Since she could not touch my son to help in posing, she gave excellent directions and helped him look at ease and natural in his pictures. Cornerstone Photography is the best photography company I have ever experienced. They are talented, kind and professional. We had a family and individual pictures taken and Peter and his team couldn't have been better. He/they made us feel great all the way through our time together. They were so positive! They have great backgrounds and wonderful ideas, but always wanted us to be comfortable. I didn't have any trouble with their web site and loved looking at all of our pictures. Our sales person was fantastic! She listened to us and made suggestions, but never pushy. She even let us take our time to order. Very disappointed in Cornerstone. My daughter took senior photos and before we left I asked about retakes and was told that it was free to retake the photos and I also asked if both session would be available for viewing and I was told yes. After the retakes were taken we were notified and logged in to view them, that is when we noticed that the og session was not available for viewing any longer so I called to ask what happened and was then told that once retakes are done those are the only photos to view and that I would have to pay an additional $30 for both sessions to be viewed, not what I was told to begin with at all. After going back and forth with the lady I told her to please put back the og session. After all of that my daughter logged in and personally selected her Yearbook photo. fast forward to today, she receives her yearbook and there is a photo of her from the retake session and there is no real explanation as to how this happened. We did not pick it because my daughter was not happy with those photos and when she picked the photo the retakes were not an option at all. Emailing with them today and all I get are excuses that really to do not make any sense at all! Very disappointed in them as a company. If I can offer you any advice it would be to make sure that you confirm with them multiple times on what image will appear in the yearbook, something that I did not do because I put my trust in this company! read more

I would love to give zero but that's impossible after refusing to pay a ridiculous fee for my son to get his yearbook picture this place has made it next to impossible for me to pay an exorbitant amount of money for a couple of senior pictures my willingness to pay $250 for the smallest decent size asked packet of picturesjust ended when they would not allow me to simply come in and pay for them I have to wait a month and come in on a Saturday earliest appointment 10 AM to give them this money obviously I'm being punished for not paying the fee upfront and nowI need to wait to give them my $250 guess I'll be shopping elsewhere for a photographer so that I can have this done before my son graduates read more
