We called ahead to see if the dining room was open and told it was. When we arrived we were informed that it wasn't open. The wait staff was very good, the food was not so great. Prime rib was really bad. Steak was good. Wanted baked potatoes but there weren't any. Asked for a vegetable but there wasn't any. I am truly a sucker for a hometown bar. After a little researching on a mini Tuesday night road trip, we stumbled upon a true blessing: the Cornerstone's specials. $5 burgers and $5 pitchers of domestics on Tuesday night.s. With the $5 (HALF POUND) burger, comes one topping and for $.75 each, you can add additional toppings - fried or raw onions are always free though. The options include a number of cheese varieties ( pepper jack, American, cheddar, Swiss, maybe something else) lettuce, tomato, mushrooms and a few other essentials. The premium ads-on's includes jalapeño bacon, smoked bacon, blue cheese crumbles or blue cheese dressing (ranging from $1-$2). The burger comes with a "sample" of fries or tots. I've never sampled fries or tots, but what a restaurant considers to be a sample is maybe 10 and what I consider a sample is probably a large order. And domestic pitchers are domestic pitchers, so no complaints there. There are also quite a few TVs with various sports things on and some vintage signs. The cornerstone has officially been added to our "stops along 35" list. read more

We arrived with large group and were seated and waited for a long time with no service and the table near us was then seated and we watched as server came and waited on their drink orders and I notified wait staff we had not been waited on yet. We waited more and table next to us received drinks and ordered as we still did not have any service. We finally got up and left. I would not recommend this place if they ignore customers like this. read more

We were referred to this spot by a local fellow who had been in for lunch a few times. The post lunch crowd was nice and obviously locals. The server (Kat) was friendly and attentive and the place was clean and well lit. Pull tabs were doing a good business and apparently the meat raffle is a big deal at the Cornerstone. Overall a nice first impression. My lunch partner had the Rachel (which was rated as "Pretty Good"...turkey was tasty and marble rye was fresh, dressing arrivedon the side as requested) and I had the Cornerstone Lucy which was also pretty good. The slice of ham on the top was a nice, tasty touch and the size of the burger was generous (see photo). Overall it was a nice experience and I'd definitely stop in again when in the area. read more

This place was good. It's an old styled restaurant and it smelled like it too. But the people there are SUPER friendly. My waiter, Melissa was very helpful with my choice of food and just overall great. Also a lady in which I believed was a possible owner was very pleasant and friendly to my group as well. The kids meals were just as excepted, simple and smaller. And my burger was soooooo meaty. It was good, but lacked vegetables. I didn't think to order any with it. I haven't been to this place in at least 15 years and I will probably wait another 15 before returning. The service was slow and the food was on par with that. I had their Juicy Lucy burger, and it was the worst Juicy Lucy I have ever had. The cheese on the inside tasted so odd an it just didn't work. If you cant perfect a Juicy Lucy, don't put it on the menu. read more

Friday around 5:30 pm, fairly busy, but no excuse. All 3 of orders chicken wings, bone in. WORST, driest wings I have even had. I ate 1 wing, with much needed rinse to get the thing down. Didn't/wouldn't even touch the rest of them. Extremely overdone and dry! How can you screw up wings? It appeared maybe they fried them hours ahead and them either left them in the oven to keep warm or rewarmed them. My husband and brother ate theirs. We did not complain. I just went hungry. Sad to go out for dinner, pay and not even be able to eat it. I don't plan to go back. If I have to I guess I stick with a salad as you can't screw that up. Also, a far cry from social distancing, especially at the bar, everyone elbow to elbow. I guess we continue to eat at home. read more

Table mates had all you can eat prime rib which they said was good, but I found the sides and stuff offered to be a bit sub-par. Save your hard earned cash and eat at a restaurant that is recommended and has higher good reviews. The Cornerstone will rob you without using a weapon. I ordered a gin and tonic. I knew our party of 3 was in trouble when it was served in a beer glass without a garnish. Looking at the menu the price for a small liver and onions was priced at $14.95. A side salad listed was$3.00 on the menu. The total being $17.95. When the order was placed the waitress said the side salad is $5.95. This would now be $20.90 or $1.00 more than the large plate which included a salad and potato for $19.95. Also ordered was Bleu cheese dressing, not shown on the menu was the $1.00 extra charge. Besides the price shifting the food was under cooked. All the above was mentioned to the waitress without any response or apology or visit from the manager.Oh that's right he was too busy trying to resolve food issues at another table. Dayum! When my family said we were meeting in Wyoming to celebrate my awesome mom's birthday, I started looking for flights. Cowboy hats. And my DVD of Brokeback Mountain. What? Wyoming, Minnesota? Who knew. Or so I thought. Apparently A LOT of people know of Wyoming, MN and of its uber popular, iconic, Cornerstone. This joint was jammin' on a Thursday night. Fortunately we booked a private room ahead of time, cuz that's how we Anoka County Smith's roll...and we had awesome service from hello to good bye. I went with the prime rib...like BUTTAH! Perfection in a Flintsonian slab with au jus, horseradish and sour cream. I shared with no one! Started off with a simple yet crisp and cool salad with....drum roll pahleeze...the BEST blue cheese dressing. Shout out to our awesome server for that suggestion and the outstanding hospitality in general. Mama Jo and family had a most memorable evening on our "trip" to Wyoming. I can see why it was full of happy locals and should most definitely drive in business from surrounding areas. Cornerstone. I am SO in your corner any day of the week. read more

Ordered a Blue Cheese Bacon burger for lunch. That and a grilled cheese somehow took an hour to make. After an hour, my burger had blue cheese dressing instead of blue cheese on it and was WELL WELL WELL done to the point that one bite dried out my mouth. The hot dressing was gag inducing. They also do "Freedom fries," and I guess freedom means "crappy." Also on the menu were "Freedom toast" and a "Monte CRISCO" sandwich. Yes, you can be ignorant and run a bar/restaurant. I suppose the droves of jobless snowmobilers who are drinking shots at noon don't care much about flavor or French-American relations throughout history. Keep driving past this place. read more

This place used to be great. Saturday I went with some friends for a birthday get together. The birthday guest came for ribs. We've had ribs here before and the prime rib is to die for. As we ordered we found out no ribs. Not served in 2 years. It's on the menu and it's on the web site. Waitress admitted they had to fix that. So then my other friend ordered the prime rib. As he finished ordering another Waitress came up and said they were out of prime. 6:30, Saturday night. I asked the usual wtf questions. The Waitress said its hard to gauge cause they don't want too much left over. Even though they have prime sandwiches on the menu all week. We left. I will never come back. Who ever purchased this place this time is running it into the ground. Cranked up music in a dining area. If I wanted to listen to music I'd be in the bar with the power drinkers that roost there. What a gem! We came here to celebrate my grandma's birthday last week, and I was blown away by Cornerstone. I had no clue such a great restaurant existed in Wyoming. The ambiance is wonderful, the service was friendly and the food was amazing. The taco bowl I ordered was great, but the true winner was the chocolate cake the staff gave us for my grandma's birthday. Stopped by the Cornerstone for lunch while doing business in Wyoming. The menu had plenty to choose from and most of us went with the prime rib sandwich. I chose philly style which basically added a bit of cheese and some pepper and onions. Flavor was fair but nothing spectacular. It was served with seasoned fries which were basic diner fare. Atmosphere is typical of a local pub, comfortable and quaint. Waitress was attentive and friendly. Prices were good. Appears to have a full bar but I went with the Mello Yellow which was a nice treat for an out of towner. Service was pretty quick but not rushed. read more

Poor service. If you don't look yokel enough they ignore you at the bar. I waited 5+ minutes and they studiously ignored me while serving and making small talk with the regulars. I work nearby- we used to go there regularly but got tired of the horrible service and limited selection. Figured I'd give them one more chance and was again disappointed. Cornerstone has taken a real downturn. Used to be a great local spot for great food at a decent price. Recently had a change in ownership and this was our first visit. Simply put, menu has shrunk considerably, prices had gone up significantly, and quality has dropped. A real loss for local food. read more

I've had one amazing experience here and one "blah" experience here. I had steak the first time and the prime the second. I know prime rib can be up or down. This time it was down. Bring it out warmer. And, it if has a massive slab of fat on it. Cut that off! Grain and marbleing is fine, don't bring me a cut with a 1/3 pound of fat hanging off the side! read more

My husband and I have eaten in the bar area a few times and it was great. We decided to try the dinning room ... never again! We were seated and the waitress took our drink order, someone else brought them out...the waitress took our food order. While we sat for about a half an hour with empty drinks, someone else brought out or main meal (we didn't even get our dinner salads), she never came to check on us. I had to go ask a bar-back to send her over....we had to ask for drinks, condiments and our side salads. All while 1) a table came in and sat next to us were in and out while we sat waiting 2) another table also complained to her. Once we finally asked for our bill, she kindly gave us our last two drinks free- or so we thought...We reviewed our bill, noticed what we thought were two comped beverages for the horrible service and gave her our card. APPROVING a charge of approximately $53. When she returned with the credit card receipt she had ran our card for $65! She added the drinks to our tab and ran our credit card for an unapproved amount! I realize we ordered the drinks and I would have had no issue paying for it, but she should have told us she revised the bill. NEVER AGAIN! I waitressed for years so I understand we all have our bad days. But she wasn't bringing out her drinks or food, nor was she clearing tables. All she was doing was taking orders for maybe 5/6 tables. I wish I would have talked to the manager, but I was so mad we had to leave. read more

This was our first visit. We took our oldest Grandson out for dinner. It is a very casual dining place. Actually like a neighborhood watering hole. We ate in the bar as the dining room was closed. The sign said please seat yourself we chose a great table by the window. Our server was very nice but I think she was the only serve in the bar she did the best she could. They have a decent menu many choices. I am a carnivore so of course I picked the Prime so did everyone. The dinner came with choice of soup or salad and potatoes. We all ordered the Prime rib king size cut. The French onion soup was great and our dinner salads very fresh. I chose the Blue cheese dressing excellent. They included our warm bread slices on our salad plates our waitress forgot the butter for the bread and because my husband ordered the soup and since it did not have a plate under his soup so he did not get the bread. Our Prime rib Fantastic I ordered med rare perfect they ordered med perfect. It tasted perfect no complaints. When it was time to pay we presented a credit card for payment. She came back and said they were having trouble running the cards in their system and when it was up and running there was a line of cards to run before ours she asked if we could pay with cash. We had the money on us but not everyone carries that amount of cash Food. Excellent, price ok considering quality of food. Service ok. Be sure to ask for horseradish if you like it they have creamy or regular not a sauce mixture just pure horseradish. read more
