This was my first time at Boulevard. I was a little skeptical with some of the recent negative reviews. I went out with a colleague for "happy hour". The service was decent and the waitress was attentive to everything going on at not only our table but the tables around us. I don't think anyone was ignored or had to wait an extensive amount of time. It looked like everyone working was trying to make sure everyone had what they needed without a terrible wait. We didn't have food, but from those around that had food, everyone was finishing their plates and appeared tasty! The drinks were good and the waitress was on top of refills as needed right away. Great service! With the weather, there weren't many on the patio, but the inside with folks was never too loud or overwhelming. I was impressed! Maybe it's because it was a weeknight, but staff and patrons were all friendly and respectful. I'd opt to go here again and be inclined to try a few of the plates of food!! Thank you, Boulevard! I was impressed and definitely pleased!!

Decided to go here for lunch today. The special was all their burgers were $8. We all ended up getting burgers. I got the mushroom and Swiss with a side salad. My husband got the bacon cheeseburger with fries. My husband got a beer with his lunch. Both lunches were good. We had a nice time visiting with our friends.

We met some friends here for lunch today. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries and my wife got the mushroom and swiss burger with a side salad. Today they were having a special on all their burgers. $8. Everything was tasty. We will be back.

Saturday out on the town with Sis a couple of weeks ago and we wanted to try some place new for lunch. The last time we were here it was Bamboo Betty's. Better parking lot now, with a patio, and of course, the inside is remodeled. No more DJ space or dancing floor. A long bar top when you walk in and booth/ table seating in the back. There are plenty of big TVS to watch sports wherever you look. Service was good. No complaints there. The best thing ordered was the deep-fried pickles. I was expecting traditional circles, but what actually came were long, thinly sliced pickles. They had the perfect ratio of crunchy breading and were addictive. Sour pickle, salty seasoning. Sis ordered the BLVD Big Mac. She liked it but could only eat half. Took the other half home and was not as good as leftovers. I ordered the Cheesy BBQ burger and was not impressed. It came with cheese curds, but they were breaded (gritty texture), not battered. The hamburger patty wasn't fresh like it stated on the menu. It tasted like a frozen patty I get from the grocery store and heated up on a George Foreman. The meat was densely packed like a by-product, very chewy with no flavor. Fresh hamburger should be tender and juicy. If we happen to come back here again, I'll likely order the fish fry. Seems to me that is what people here on YELP post about.

We went and had dinner on a night when kids eat free. Our server was great and friendly and our food came out fast. The burger and kids meal was great. Our chicken wings where large and had plenty of sauce but unfortunately when we bit into the second wings blood came out so we didn't finish those and recooked them when we came home. We enjoyed the ambiance and all the TV's they had going this would be a fun place to watch a game and have drinks.

The interior has that classic vintage pub feel with lots of character and natural light. There are tons of booths and different seating areas that could accommodate parties of all sizes. I especially liked the glass dividers between some of the booths, which give you a little extra privacy without making the space feel closed off. My booth also had coat hooks and easy access to outlets, which I appreciated. I could definitely see myself coming here for a working lunch. My server was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially as I was trying to figure out how to use a couple of rewards I had on my account. I specifically came in wanting to try the fish and chips. Their lunch menu offers smaller portions of several dishes from the dinner menu, including a fish and chips option for around $15. I really wanted to try the walleye, though, so I ended up ordering the full dinner portion for around $28. The fish was absolutely the star of the plate. The breading was fantastic--crunchy around the edges while still light and fluffy--and the fish inside practically melted in my mouth. The tartar sauce was also really good and paired perfectly with it. The sides, unfortunately, didn't impress me nearly as much. There were plenty of fries, but they were pretty average, and the coleslaw was mostly cabbage with a light dressing. It felt like it was missing some acidity or lime to give it a little more personality. For almost $30, I also expected the meal to be a bit more substantial. I left satisfied, but found myself hungry again a couple of hours later, so I'm not sure the dinner portion felt worth the price for me. If you're mainly curious about their fish and chips, I'd probably recommend trying the smaller lunch portion first rather than committing to the more expensive dinner version. Would I come back? Absolutely--the atmosphere, service, and location alone make The Local worth another visit, and I noticed several other dishes on the menu I'd be interested in trying. I just don't know that I'd order this particular meal again. The fish itself was excellent, but for me, the sides and overall value didn't quite match it.

This is a great Irish Pub with very good food and beer selections. My husband had the pot pie and…read moreenjoyed it. I had the Gaelic Chicken Bites as an entree which were absolutely delicious, nice and crispy with high chicken quality and a great sauce. The service was good and the whole establishment had nice vibes, huge space. If we ever visit Minneapolis again this will be an automatic re-visit thanks to the weird situation where everything in their downtown closes at 6pm on Sundays.
