Cornerstone was recommended to me in January by an independent counsellor. I researched their website and immediately had a gut feeling this was the place for my son. There was so much information, and a wide range of programs at various levels from In-patient right through to sober living. Not only help for the addict/alcoholic, but for the families too. The Tuesday night session for family members is extremely supportive. It is incredible to see how peoples emotions can change so much over time, and how strong they can become themselves in their recovery process. (after all, it is a 'family disease') This group is also open to children/ siblings, which is a great idea. The Thursday night lectures are invaluable in helping to understand the disease of addiction. One thing I find great is that you can still go to the Tuesday evening group and the lectures on a Thursday even after your 'qualifier' has left the centre. This support is fantastic. The programs for the addict/alcoholic are superb. The staff at Cornerstone do their job in a professional manner, and really do care. Despite what my addict son said when he first arrived at Cornerstone that they try and keep you longer than you need, that they only want your money, and that you don't learn anything.... I found this far from the truth. Those 3 statements from my son are typical from some addicts in their disease. Cornerstone helped my son.... they gave him the tools he needed to stay clean and sober... they also gave me the tools I need to take care of myself. Cornerstone family members are like my second family, and have helped me get where I am today - only 5 months along, but I know I have their support for life. Cornerstone is a life saver. Yes, it was tough, and I had to spend some money, but I found that if I followed the direction of the staff, who showed that they genuinely cared about me, then things always worked out well. I had been to the super expensive rehab on the beach and then the boot camp type, but found that neither was about recovery. Cornerstone was about recovery which included a rigorous program of action. They taught me how to restructure my life, work the 12 step program, and reconnect with family. Like any program, you have to want it to get it, but a place like Cornerstone will help you accomplish goals through clear direction and action. read more

I am a former client of Cornerstone. I did outpatient treatment back in late 2000. I still apply what I learned there to this very day. I slipped up a couple of times before realizing that my counselor knew better than I did. As of this date, 6/23/14, I am a month shy of 11 years sober and now work for the Department of Corrections in Florida. I have been involved in our Drug Court program here and have a totally new outlook on life. For those saying that their family member didn't get magically cured, they need to realize that an addict needs to want to quit before they will quit. I have to say that all the positive reviews, as mentioned cannot say in full detail the life saving experience Cornerstone of Southern California brings to an addicted person suffering. I echo the positive reflections posted completely 12 years ago, my Uncle showed up at this facility beaten by his addiction and left this facility on the path to life long recovery. .Currently he is a Director of a rehabilitation center and holds two Masters degrees. Cornerstone gave him everything he needed to be successful in long term sobriety. For Myself, I have been sober for a little over six months and daily think about what I have been taught and learned from the dedicated professionals at this facility. Lessons that began at the Detox house and others presented through my stay for 30 days at there Intensive Inpatient Living, continually "pop" up in my head in the way of relapse prevention, craving management, and positive daily living. Thank you Cornerstone for the work you do! My newest daughter is 6 months old and has never had her father drink alcohol. A gift I could not give my two oldest children, however they have their sober father as an example now and to come. I came through the doors a broken down 45yr old man. My insurance would not cover this program. With the success they had with another family member, I decided to self pay. This was my first time, ever to try to get sober. I didn't know what to expect. Drugs were never a part of my story. I'm just a good old alcoholic! For the first few days all I heard people talk about were drugs. I felt like I didn't belong. After the first week, I started to realize, a lot of these people , half my age, had similar problems like family, work , home and relationships. I still see and talk to a lot of those people. At first I wanted to rip my case managers heads off. I felt like they were teaming up on me and pushing my wife further away. It took me over a month to finally figure out, I need to work this program, not to get my family, friends, and my job back. But , work this program to get me back. At this time , I now have 4 1/2yrs of sobriety. The aftercare program is wonderful. I also am involved in their Alumni program. We've gone bowling, skydiving, and beach party's. I often stop by Cornerstone and visit all the people that gave me the tools to Get and Stay sober. Cornerstone saved my life. Both my case managers Darlene and Crystal are both very passionate about their job and how much they love helping addicts like myself, they truly went above and beyond to help me. Stephanie Herring also helped me tremendously with the 8 cases I racked up all in 2017. Instead of jail I only had to do a couple months at cornerstone, which was way worth it. She was also one of the happiest councilors their whenever you saw her walking around cornerstone, no matter what she was doing she would stop and give you a hug and see how you were doing. Simon Stone was also a big help to talk to if you needed anything especially being one of the owners, always being at cornerstone made it feel like he really cared about everyone there. I also have to give a huge shout out to my house manager Ronna in house #16, I was totally not okay with the fact of leaving my own home for 30 days but she made my stay in rehab the best I have ever been to and this was by 8th different rehab. Ronna was one of the most caring people I met there. She was the easiest to talk to when I had and issue and always gave me some of the best advice. She made my stay away from home the most comfortable and really showed how much she cared about how I was doing. She brought back my laughter and happiness and I will be forever grateful for her. I truly recommend Cornerstone to anyone suffering from a drug or alcohol addiction that really wants to get their life back. I went to cornerstone to detox from alcohol, because it was recommended by my insurance. They gladly took my $500 copay and insurance info. Then I had to wait nearly 8 hours to receive my detox meds. Meanwhile, I was shaking, nauseous, unable to eat or sleep. It was almost midnight before I was able to see someone about getting medication. finally woke up the next day, and was told i was moving houses.... already. Still shaking and sick, I was going to be moved to a house that did not have in house staff to check on me. After a bit of refusal, They let me stay in that house another night, then quickly rushed me out the next morning. From there I received no warnings or mentions of "Med time" besides the 6:30 wake up call. They also got me good and doped up on valium to the point that i would want to sleep all day, and constantly drill me for not making it to their meetings. Finally, after finishing the detox at cornerstone, my Case Manager, Aaron, helped me get in contact with another facility closer to home, to start Outpatient treatment. He was very determinded to get me in. Kept telling me that the first thing I need to do is contact them and get started... So, when i left, I went straight to this other facility. But wouldnt you know it, I peed dirty for benzos (valium that was given to me by cornerstone), so this facility could not let me in without a detox. I called cornerstone day after day for a week, asking for papers that showed i detoxed there under DOCTOR "SUPERVISION" AND PRESCRIBED MEDICATION. Never, to this day, heard back. I never got into an IOP, never got any help since. Its really saddens me that there are companies like this out there. The "recovery" industry is so profitable, that these people are willing to take your money and push you aside, like you are nothing to them. We need less Cornerstones, and more people that care. If you, or someone you know, needs help. DO NOT LOOK HERE. They will take your money, and lie to your face. Absolutely the worst rehab ever! All they care about is the money! First off one of my family members was there recently and he was not taken care of in the least! We paid for medical treatment and they kept giving us bullshit as to why they couldn't blah blah blah! Second, he asked to call to see which day we were gonna to come visit him, because they are limited on phone privileges, and the fucking case worker tells him " did you ever think that maybe your family doesn't want to see you!?" And in the state that he was in he lost it and cried for about 24 hours until we got there the next day!!! What the hell kind of motivation and "help" is that to somebody???? These people are already fighting a life threatening battle but to throw some dumbass lady in there kicking somebody when they're already down is beyond the words I could express right now on this! Then they tell my family member that they called and told us that he was going to another program and dropped him off with No help, just " bye, good luck!" Then he calls us to let us know he's okay later that evening when the entire time we thought he was safe in the place where, Ya know, we dropped over $800 dollars for him to be at!!!!!!!! Ok, so besides the joke of a care system that they are there was a $500 intake fee for 10 days which is ridiculous in itself when somebody's life is at stake' then for court purposes they were going to charge $200 dollars so that we could get a 2 sentence letter with their letter head saying he was in their program. Then there was another $300 dollar medicine fee ( which he didn't EVER get by the way!!!!) AND and Are you kidding me right now!!!? They absolutely do NOT have your family member or friends best interest at heart! Stay far away from this place, they coax you with their words just because they know people will do anything to save their loved ones life and bill your insurance company for days they weren't even there! It has been many years since i have been discharged from cornerstone and i can proudly say that i am still living a sober lifestyle. Dr. Herring still continues to be an essential influence in my life and continues to still be there for me when i need recommendations or suggestions. She never leaves me without an answer to my questions. Incompetent, rude, and condescending staff? Check. Complete lack of individualized treatment? Possibly. Abounding and sharp corporate overtones? Definitely. My experience at cornerstone was wholly negative, indeed a detriment to my desire to become sober. Without winding through the myriad of issues that I encountered at this place, I will concisely state that because of this pitiful excuse for a rehabilitation center I was fired from my job and had to drop out of college. They were absolutely unhelpful and unaccommodating in my schedule, the staff at times didn't know who was in charge, and I was constantly met with hostility and challenged as to whether i was trying to "run my own program". At the residential setting, the lack of proper medical attention became apparent when my medications ran out and I had to demand refills. There is no RN or PRN on duty at the residential setting. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. There are far better options available for people who want to recover from drug and alcohol addiction. read more

After receiving my 3rd DUI with a high BAC, I immediately enrolled into Cornerstorne of Southern California. While my main goal was rehabilitation and recovery, I also realized that I had a serious DUI charge with a very likely chance of doing a year in jail. However, while at Cornerstone, I was introduced to Dr. Stephanie Herring - Director of Alternative Sentencing. Not enough can be said about the role she played in regards to my sentencing of NO jail time. Leading up to my case Dr. Herring continuously managed and instructed the proper steps and avenues to take in order to receive the best possible outcome. Along with this, Dr. Herring not only knows the "ins-and-outs" of the judicial system, but has a very high credibility with lawyers, administrators, and most importantly, the judges. At my trial the judge was glad to see and respected Dr. Herring - knowing she represents those who are making a change for the better. As a DIRECT result of her presence, I received no jail time (6 more months outpatient, SCRAM bracelet, . .etc.) Personally, Dr. Herring is a wonderful woman who truly cares for her patients/clients and someone that I can definitely call a friend. read more

I have been to 11 treatment centers and this was by far the worst. I went to cornerstone because they told my family and I that they were a dual diagnosis facility and I struggle both with severe depression and addiction. When I got there, I had to make my own psychiatrist appointment and do everything myself because they didn't have a psychiatrist at the facility. When I told my case manager on multiple occasions that I was feeling suicidal, she brushed me off and told me that I was just being "defiant". They kept me for 30 days before I went to my case manager and literally yelled that I wanted to kill myself. She then told me I had to find somewhere else to go because they aren't a dual diagnosis program. But she didn't help me find another program, she just called the police. I stayed 3 days in the hospital before finding another program (with no help from cornerstone). I have been clean sober for over a year now, but I'll never forget how horrible my time was at cornerstone. It is all about the money for them and they lie to potential clients to get people in the doors. If you have a loved one you care about, do NOT send them to cornerstone. read more

I came in here with time under my belt and left with them holding my wallet and cell phone above my head as ransom and was so fed up with the program only focusing on how I was a bad person and not on why I used that I left and so did three others when they saw me leaving because they were scared to do it on their own and all this place did is make me wonder the street with no phone or money for three days until I could get my own items I walked in their with so for three days I was breaking the law because I didn't have my id and this place is first hand responsible for making my legal problems worst and ruining relationships in my life so I walked into this place looking for help and left with a huge resentment towards recovery due to the non respectful ways of putting you down everyday in the program read more

I owe everything I have to Cornerstone for saving my husband. I had given him up for lost after suffering a 14 year rollercoaster of addiction to alcohol and pot with him. He, himself, had not been sober for more than 3-4 days in over 30 years. I had given him an ultimatum to move out or go to rehab for at least a month. Although I wished him well. I didn't have much hope. However, the transformation since he's been home has been all encompassing. His whole demeanor and outlook on life has changed. He even looks different, due to a healthier diet and lifestyle. Our children finally have a happy home. Best of all, our marriage has never been so fulfilling. He now has been sober for nearly 3 months, and shows no signs of relapse. If anything, he keeps getting stronger. Iagree with the previous reveiws, this place is a business not concerned with rehabilation, but money and more money. I had a family member that asked for help, so I called this place, they ran the insurance and called me back and said of course come here right now, we can help you. We went there and they separated us, gave each of us forms to fill out, emergency contact and so forth. After I gave them my portion of the paperwork, they told me that the insurance only approved 3 days and that they needed to keep my family member for 10 days, would I write a check to cover the extra 7 days. I told them that I did not have the money and that they ran the insurance before we got there and they said they would help with insurance only. They then proceeded to ask me to contact the people on the emergency contact list and borrow money! From my son, from my 70 year old mother! Unbeleiveable! Then they put me in the room with my family member and I witnessed them telling that person that they would not succeed in getting clean without their program and that this person would fail and they stepped out several times and after 3 hours of mental abuse, and failing to obtain more money from me they came back in and said I am sorry we cannot negotiate the amount of days, you would be wasting our time I suggest you go find a county program! I was furious! My family member was in tears, going there based on the hope that they were going to help and that the insurance wa going to be enough, and then pulling the bate and switch preying on desparate people looking for help, doing more harm than good. Stay away from this place. The staff is horrible, their system is horrible, their ethics are non existant! Do not trust these people to even speak to anyone that you care about. read more

Cornerstone is an amazing program. This is a true addiction treatment program with real doctors on site daily and 24 hour LVN's. I lost my brother to this disease because he would not seek treatment and denied his disease. Cornerstone treats you like family and genuinely cares. My experience at Cornerstone was amazing; I was able to completely change my life. I feel like I am a completely different person than when I arrived. The staff is great, everyone from Dr. Herring, my case manager Tom to my house manager Gracie. I really felt like they cared and me and provided the right foundation for personal growth. I first arrived to Cornerstone coming straight out of jail. Dr. Herring was instrumental in my release from jail, and she continued to be extremely helpful with my legal situation throughout my time at Cornerstone and after my discharge. Tom is a great case manager. In his groups I was provided the tools to deal with the issues that arise throughout the recovery process. I really feel like I am able to deal with any "life" situation without resorting to using substances; that was definitely not the case when before I came to Cornerstone. I recommend Cornerstone to anyone suffering from addiction. The process is not easy, and involves a lot of work on your part. However, the rewards of recovery are worth it. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. My pregnant girlfriend got released into their custody from jail. She was there to do a program they communicated to me she'd be eligible of completing. Once they got her into their facility (and i paid them 1500 dollars), they tried basically force feeding her valium, which she refused. They asked why, she said she was pregnant and they lost it. They then informed her pregnant women are ineligible for that level of treatment (the one we agreed upon because we could afford it, and it was never told to us pregnant women couldn't do that. The reason is because they MAKE you take drugs. The very same drugs that she was addicted to!!) and told us she'd have to be in the program that costs 4 times the amount we AGREED on. They told me I'd have to find other arrangements within 24 hours, which I did, but the bed at the other facility was not available until the next day. She had been there 3 nights at this point. They told me I would have to pay them 500 dollars for her to stay the night until the other rehab was able to come get her, or they were going to kick her out on the street. The other place was kind enough to come get her from the cornerstone crap hole. DO NOT SEND ANYONE HERE UNLESS YOU HATE THEM. It reminds me of the place Happy Gilmore's grandma was in. Seriously awful experience for me and my girl, wouldn't send my dad here, and i hate my dad. read more

I stayed at cornerstone for 10 months. They helped me to stay out of jail, rebuild my relationship with my family, and gave me the tools to get my life back together. With that in mind Cornerstone is a not a be all end all solution to get clean/sober. Cornerstone merely gives you the tools to help yourself to stay clean and sober. There will be times good times and bad times if you decide to stay at Cornerstone, but that is how life works. The main thing to keep in mind is to be mindful of how you react to situations. How you react to situations will significantly impact your ability to stay clean and sober and will ultimately determine if your stay at Cornerstone will be good or bad. Whatever you do, do not fraternize with the other people who are receiving treatment in there. Your not at Cornerstone to get into a relationship, you're in Cornerstone to get clean/sober. I have seen numerous people relapse as a result of getting into romantic relationships during their first year of recovery and Cornerstone has absolutely zero tolerance for fraternizing with other clients. If your caught fraternizing with another client you will automatically be kicked out no questions asks. If your committed to taking your recovery seriously this place will help you get on the right track but you have to be willing, dedicated, and committed. In addition the relationships you have with the staff members will significantly impact whether your experience at Cornerstone will be positive or negative, so keep an open mind, take suggestions, and be friendly. I had Rudy a case manager for 7 months and Monaye for 3 months and it was a very positive and beneficial experience for me because I had developed a good relationship with them. Had I not developed a good relationship with them, I probably would not have stayed in Cornerstone as long as I did. The relationship you have with your case manager while in treatment is extremely important so take it seriously and listen to all of their suggestions whether you agree with them or not and listen with an open mind. If you do not have a good relationship with your case manager, because not everyone gets along, don't be afraid to take initiative and ask to have another case manager. Take charge of your own recovery because no one else can do it for you. Overall this place is pretty solid. read more

Cornerstone saved my husband's life . It is as simple as that. The center is dedicated to the treatment of addiction but more importantly, to the treatment of the family as a whole and the focus of treatment is on relapse prevention. The change for our family is has been amazing. The Thursday night meetings and lectures for the family plus the Tuesday night family support groups have been my life line. Cornerstone has been vital in my journey throught rehabilitation from my alcoholism. I was admitted to Cornerstone by way of an intervention of my adult daughters and with the help and suport of Cornerstaff. In the beginning I was amazed and bewildered by the kindness and respect with which I was treated. At the time, I was so sick in my disease that I certainly did not believe I was worthy of it. The care I was given through my detox was nothing short of a gift from God. They haeld my hand and cared for me until I could physically begin to care for myself and begin the long process of recovery. The staff has the patience of saints and really care about the clients. Each clients program is customized to fit their individual needs and they are so "solution oriented" it is incredible. Counselors and staff are always available and the education i received pertaining to addiction, recovery and relapse prevention is excellent. One of the awesome things about Cornerstone is that they recognize that addiction affects not only the addict/alcoholic but the entire family. Cornerstone encourages the participation of family and other support members to participate in the recovery process as well. Cornerstone provided a physically and emotional safe environment for me to begin to heal and learn the tools I would need to use in my recovery. I would recommend Cornerstone to anyone and if I had to do it all over again I would.........And in fact I did. Part of my recovery has been plagued by relapse and i was welcomed back to Cornerstone with open arms despite my miserable self-inflicted humiliation and devastation. I'm a slow learner in this process but Cornerstone has never given up on me. I have gone through nearly all phases of their program from my initial medical detox, to their extended care program, Intensive outpatient, family program and I now am happily residing in one of their sober living houses as I am 9 months sober. Thanks to Cornerstone I am working with a sponsor in AA, working full time and continue to participate in their aftercare program. I would never have been able to begin to learn how to live without alcohol if not for the education support and direction of Cornerstone. My undying gratitude to Dr., Stone and His staff for their selfless dedication to the alcoholic/addict who needs help. I would not be where I am today if it were not for them. I would hope that anyone would think twice before checking in a loved one at Cornerstone! All this place cares about is money. After talking to Diane at Cornerstone for 3 days while my GF was in detox at a hospital she got all of the insurance info she needed. I was told that her insurance was good to go and that I would have a $3900 balance for 30 days. After checking my sick GF in at 9:30pm and giving them a $900 deposit I was on my way. The next day I get word that there is a problem with her insurance. I immediately call Cornerstone to see what's going on and no one seems to know anything. I proceed to let them know if there is a problem could they please notify me before my GF so I don't add any stress to her situation. They assured me they would NEVER do that and they would call me first. Needless to say this never happened! They pulled her out of a meeting that was just starting and made her sit on the steps outside before sitting in a office for hours and then calling me on speaker phone with her there. They proceeded to tell me they don't accept her insurance and I could come and pick her up and they were keeping $420 of mine as well as keeping the pills her Dr prescribed for her to help her with Alcohol. I was treated very rudely by the staff and they showed 0 support or help for someone who clearly needed help. And now I cant get anyone to return my call and her Dr has called also with no return call. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!!!! PLEASE DO NOT CHECK ANYONE IN HERE read more

I've heard amazing things about the extended care which is something I didn't get to experience. The detox is one of the worst things I've experienced. The case managers are not very nice but I'd like to right about a specific case manager Irma. When you're in treatment your supposed to be getting helped, not talked down on and being called a "spoiled brat". She also threatened me by saying she was going to choke me out. This facility is also extremely unorganized considering that my medications were mixed up and one staff member would tell me one things then another staff member would tell me something else. It all depending on who was working what shift. It almost felt like jail with better food and a better bed. 5 other addicts there wanted to leave, not just me. I am now in outpatient In a different program and love it already and already feel more cared about in 3 days then I did in 11 day which felt like 2 monthsThe only reason I went here was because of the 4 stars on this website. read more

My rating is a big fat ZERO. Even that is giving them too much! I wen to see my child and when I got there they pulled me into a room saying they wanted to speak to me. I was okay, their going to tell me how well my child is doing. Well was I wrong! They told me I had to blow into a PAS to measure my BAC . I about flipped!! I asked them why and all they said was well your child told us that you drink and we don't want you visiting him drunk. I came UNGLUED at that point. I asked them, why they hell would I show up at a rehab facility to visit my child drunk? Of course after that a lot of back peddling. 98% of the staff are addicts and they are proud of it. My child's case manager is especially proud that she is an addict. When I asked her if she was, she smiled and said with a laugh yes I am, making the gesture with her hands like she was shooting up. WOW was all I could say. What I want to know is why are addicts managing my child? It's going on the second week and believe me I really feel they are a cult. Looking for another place to take my child. What a creepy creepy place. Whatever you do, DO NOT put your child in this place. Just because addicts run this program doesn't mean everyone who doesn't have an addiction should be treated as though they have problems. Will be looking for another place to take my child. Sure as hell don't want him brain washed by the likes of this place. Bet you 10 to 1 they are a cult hiding behind the premise that they care about your child. read more

Our daughter who is soon to turn 19, was admitted and stayed for approx 62 days from Feb 2010 here. To our surprise we found out that she was using cocaine, prescription drugs as well as alcohol. Thank goodness that their was a voice on the other end of cornerstones 24hr hotline that night, the night ,I called distraught!! The staff are so well qualified and genuinely caring there that we knew our daughter would get the help she needed... The programme here is structured and educational for both addict and their families. We have been attending classes/groups, both with our loved one there BUT also, just for family members or loved ones of the addicts, at the same time as our daughter was going thru her intense treatment. plan at the center. We got so much support, help guidance and knowledge, here, so that when she would be ready to leave we had the tools too, to accept,cope and plan for when our daughter would leave, sober and healthy!! We cannot express how much the groups have helped us thru this painful time in our life. The staff were wonderful there.and really helped us...... as well as our daughter whom NOW has just celebrated 90 DAYS SOBER,she has left the treatment facility with the tools and the help,and the friends and guidance that she needs to continue living a sober life.... thank You to all at Cornerstone and especially to the staff at Tuesday night family group xx whom we still get to visit each week, to continue getting the help guidance and advice we require to stay healthy for our loved ones too. read more

Our son is an addict and former client at Cornerstone. We interfaced with the staff who worked in the front office and billing, as well as those involved in counseling and case management, and consistently found them all to be extremely professional. In addition to the treatment that our son received, parents and families were also provided with educational opportunities and group meetings to help us understand and accept our roles and responsibilities in his addiction and recovery. We found particular value in the Tuesday evening family group meeting headed by a gentleman who, as a recovering alcoholic and parent of an alcoholic, provided valuable insight into the importance of our role as enablers in his addiction as well as our role in his recovery. We learned to understand that we cannot blame others for his disease, nor could we hold anyone else responsible for his recovery; it was up to our son. We saw our son emerge from the Cornerstone program sober and committed to his recovery, and we've been proud of his personal development. As for the cost, addiction is a deadly disease. Cornerstone is dedicated to saving as many lives as possible. How do you put a price tag on that? The cost of the program was a valuable investment in the success and fulfillment of our son's life. The Cornerstone program has provided a solid foundation for our family and for many other patients who have sought treatment. We have learned to comprehend the seriousness and long-term effects of addiction, and have been educated to understand the need for the positive dedication that long-lasting recovery requires not only of the patient, but of his entire family. Anyone who expects a "quick-fix" solution to the problem of addiction will probably be disappointed with Cornerstone, or with any other reputable program. read more

One of the best treatment centers in the state of California. Very caring and attentive staff members. Great Facilities located in an accessible area of Orange County. They have different programs geared towards different types of patients. Would definitely recommend it to friends/family who need it. I was desperate when my son needed help so I turned to cornerstone and paid cash for a month of treatment which included no drs appointments, medication anything. It was such a rip off. My son was not getting the help he needed and left after 3 weeks. Now they continue to harass me for more money.mrun, run, run the other way and seek help anywhere but here! read more

If you are over 50 or just detoxed at another facility, don't waste your time going through pre-admissions, insurance verification, follow up calls, etc. This facility will begin by giving you or your loved one hope and encouragement and after setting that expectation with family and loved one, they will deny admissions on the your planned arrival day. They claim compassion and understanding, but obviously the case workers and doctors don't have much experience with managing patients, admissions process, etc, otherwise they would know how devastating it can be to tell a patient they are no longer accepted after setting an expectation of hope. This little exercise, combined with last minute rejection has devastated my wife's well-being. I'm not sure if she cares to continue this very frustrating process of find help. I think she is giving up. They will tell you detox or general health is an issue and when your doctor approves release to rehab, they will then tell you, the patient is too old and can't keep up with program schedule. Absolute BS. My wife has always been a very active person and until recently, worked 8-10 hour a day managing a real estate property with over 110 tenants (5000 people) and now, someone is telling me she can't wake up at 07:00 and walk or sit in a conference room and have discussions until 15:00 (3pm)? BS!!!! Thanks for making our situation much worse! read more

The legal aid, Dr Herring, she came with me to court AFTER i had already been discharged from cornerstone for months to help me resolve an issue that was open at the time of my stay there. My stepson entered the Cornerstone rehabilitation facility to receive treatment for his addiction. He went through several phases of their program and advanced to their sober living facility. He spent a total of approximately 15 months as a patient, and during that time he was provided a foundation that has allowed him not only to remain clean and sober, but to learn how to function confidently and productively. He now has a home, a good job, a loving wife and a beautiful young child. During the early phases of his residency at Cornerstone, we were particularly impressed with the level of family involvement that was encouraged to help us, his family, not only to understand the disease of addiction, but to become a positive influence as our son learned to deal with the realities and challenges of his condition. We enjoyed both the family group night as well as the speaker night, and were pleased to participate in a number of social functions that involved Cornerstone patients with their families. We have met many other Cornerstone alumni through the follow-up programs and social activities that have been offered. We understand how challenging the problem of addiction can be, but are gratified to witness the significant successes of the patients and their families who have worked together to achieve and maintain the victories that Cornerstone's program has made possible in their lives. We would strongly recommend Cornerstone as a tremendous resource in the treatment of drug and alcohol abuse. read more

My experience was completely different. Dr Stone and his staff saved my life. It will be 10 years this Jan. I had just gotten my 4th DUI, I was loosing my job, my house, I had a bunch of payday loans out and my life was a disaster. I was loosing everything! Completely unmanageable!! I went through detox, intensive inpatient, outpatient and then into sober living. The staff and Dr stone genuinely cared about my needs and provided a safe environment for my treatment. They gave me the tools to live life on life's terms. This was process was life changing. I have so much respect for Dr Stone and his facility. Cornerstone brought me an my family back together, taught me how to be accountable for my actions and how to live life with out any substances. I can't express enough how grateful I am!
