Have been going here for years...certainly one of my favorite stops when I'm traveling up the Connecticut River. Although a bit off the beaten track it is worth the trip for anyone going kayaking, hunting or skiing. Inside it's got muffins, donuts and coffee for breakfast and sandwiches for lunch. The deli is very good and always stocks very high quality meats and cheeses. Visitors can also get chips, beer, newspapers and anything they might have missed in the city or at home.
I've always found that this store has everything I need without leaving town. Staff is always very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the store's offerings and the local area. Prices are competitive with larger stores in Claremont or Lebanon and certainly better than convenience stores in the area.
The setting, at a crossroads in Cornish Flat is beautiful any time of year but especially breathtaking in the fall. On a given weekend morning one might encounter farmers from town, kids getting ready for the day's chores or a couple visiting from the Boston area. Saturdays in the summer and fall there is also a farmer's market around the corner by the town's Civil War monument. Worth a stop anytime! read more
