Horrible. They tell you that the you can start walking onto the ship at 7pm. It was raining, women have had their hair done, both men and woman were dressed up with expensive shoes and we had to wait, in the rain and puddles for 20 minutes!!! Unacceptable! Service? - there was none except for the manager Julie who tried to cover for everyone else. The waitress ignored us, playing stupid, not knowing how much drinks were, not returning when we asked her questions, like can we move because we were seated next to kitchen and speakers. She claimed they didn't have Parmesan cheese, when it was clearly on the appetizer. It was like they had the heat on. The DJ was horrible. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! This was one of the WORST experiences I have ever had. Purchased the tickets on Groupon, which they charge you not only for the discounted tickets, they charge you for tax and gratuity which was a turn off and you basically saved nothing. When entering the boat, the boat was kept in a terrible state, the brass had never been polished, windows never cleaned. Also the decorations were very low class. The staff had mismatched uniforms. Our table was crammed in the middle of a sweet 16. We ordered drinks, the only drinks that are free are water, coffee, and tea. The food was okay but our table was called last even thought we were table 2, so we got soggy seconds. The dessert was basically frozen cake. Yum (sarcasm) The staff was unattentive and you had to scream to get their attention cause of the blasting music. Our drinks were empty half the time. The DJ was playing EXTRRMELY LOUD MUSIC, it felt like you were in a club, and the music was all in Spanish for the 16 year old girl. You could barely hear yourself talk and the music was blasting the whole time! The views were AWFUL! We went on the boat thinking we were going to see New York City like the brochure has promised. All we saw was a dirty Raritan Bay and industrial factories and the ghettos of Perth Amboy. The cruise was from 12-4, the boat has came back early so the captain did circles to pass the time. Still laughing out loud at my experience here. My company booked our holiday party on one of the dinner cruises. First off; It seemed like the whole cruise was a 50th birthday party for some lady and we were the only table not a part of this party. It was VERY awkward! It was nice to join in the celebration for her, but we did feel like intruders. Second; the food was NASTY. Frozen appetizers not even completely thawed out. The dinner itself was worse than any banquet hall wedding dinner you can ever imagine. The dessert was pretty good though (probably bought at a local shoprite anyway). Third; it took off 20 minutes late, but came back just as scheduled- cutting our paid experience off by 20 minutes. Not really complaining because it seemed like the boat was just circling around and not even going anywhere anyway. Fourth; our waiter barely spoke English, was rude and unintelligent. Fifth and most inconvenient / upsetting; they only took cash. BUT WE WERE ONLY TOLD THIS WHEN THE BILL CAME! Our food was taken care of by the company- but many of us ordered drinks. Plenty of drinks (to get through this horrible cruise). We were all dumbfounded when NONE of us had enough cash to cover the whole drink bill...... one brave soul was kind enough to write down their credit card information for the cruise line to charge at a later date..... Had an OK experience during their brunch time slot. Decor was surprisingly nicer than expected. My main disappointment was that the food was only about 5% brunch and 95% what I would expect on dinner. Didn't know until later that there was omelette and pancakes upstairs which should have been communicated better by the staff. After the food the DJ got the people up with your expected line dances and kept it going with the normal "once upon a time used to be cool" songs. We purchased a Groupon package for my friends 30th and it was a pretty good time! If you are going into this cruise as it being very fancy or romantic you will probably be disappointed. It's more about the company that you bring and the fun you make for yourselves! The food for the most part was good. Appetizers were an array of fried foods, nothing to write home about.Nice little penne pasta, a basic Cesar salad but it was crisp and fresh. All of our entrees were different and overall everyone was pleased. Service was fast and staff was pleasant. The DJ played a a mixture of songs, mostly stuff to dance to and the floor was pretty full most of the night. My friends and I certainly made use of it! The DJ also took lots of requests. So two things- a) if you want to have a $30 dinner on a boat, go ahead and pay the extra money. Otherwise beware, you will not move out of Perth Amboy or even remotely see NYC unless you reserve one of their "special longer new york cruises" they choose not to specify on the website. The actual cruise was really fun as I was there for my boyfriend's birthday. Otherwise, it probably would have been a very boring dinner that you're stuck on for 3 hours. b) the waitstaff sucked, even thought we were a pretty big group- 10 people, some of them were extremely rude and snappy about getting us our food. they took our drinks from the table while we danced even though they were still half full! they forgot a bunch of our drink orders and never gave one of my friends the included piece of cake. Overall, I did have a great night, but this was in no thanks to the location or the service. Traveled on the Cornucopia Princess out of Perth Amboy for my Dad's 65th b-day on their Sunday brunch cruise. Location: Port is in desperate need of a "beautification" upgrade along with better signage getting to the parking lot from the street. Also, paint parking spot lines in the lot. Boat: Ship was nice but needs an upgrade in decor. Bathrooms need renovations, especially the leaking sinks and stained toilets. Cruise line should clearly indicate that the boat only cruises in the Raritan Bay along the coastline of Staten Island and does not travel to the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, except on specialty cruises. Food: It was ok but not worth the price. Could definitely be fresher and more flavorful. Staff: Initial impression could have been better especially friendliness. Some crew members were smoking and eating their meals in sight of passengers, which is a definite no. Crew and staff should be more professional and courteous. Go the extra mile for your customers. This operation has the potential to be excellent but CCL needs to invest more time and money for me to ever return. I'll be looking into Spirit Cruises next time. read more

The Cornucopia Princess out of Perth Amboy. Short: I wasn't expecting much, but the service and the food leave much to be desired. 1a. The Payment: I booked a Sunday cruise through Groupon. Obviously, I'm not going to get the highest standard here - but I thought it would be a fun date night. $89 for two is a fair price to pay for a fun Sunday night.. But then you have to pay the difference you save on Groupon in a fee when you make the reservation. 1. The Location: Walking up to the boat is a rollercoaster of emotions. You park in a decent-sized lot and walk towards the boat. On the right is an enormous aging "boat" and on the left is what looks like one of the sister ships being dismantled, or whatever. Whatever it is - it's an eyesore. The vessel you're on is hidden behind these two gross monstrosities. 2. The Ship: The Cornucopia Princess The boat itself was in decent shape. It could use a serious bath, and a couple gallons of paint, but all-in-all it stayed afloat. The interior was a bit dated. It probably was the shit 10 years ago, but you can't expect the world. Upkeep on these boats must be astronomical. The atmosphere was fun, though. The outside deck views are beautiful and relaxing, and there is plenty of space to sit. 3. The Service: The service was probably the worst I've ever had. We went in and stated our reservation, then we were brought down to the lowest deck, next to the dance floor and were sat Sweet-16 Style (A bunch of random couples stuck at a round table). The boat was absolutely full of empty 2-Tops, there was no reason we should have been sat where we were. Luckily the people we were sitting with were friendly and were able to laugh about how horrible the service was. A couple we were sitting with asked for place-settings four times because they weren't seated with them. They were given ketchup. Also - Our server didn't speak English. So we had two servers for a table of 6, both working against each other. Before they were moved - a couple that was originally at our table was getting bottle service. The non-English speaking server came to our table three or four times until someone at my table had to ask her why she was ignoring us. They were easily flustered and angered, constantly blaming the kitchen and other facets for mix-ups. Abysmal service. 4. The Food: The entrees and desserts were good (Beef & Salmon). Everything else was total crap. The appetizers tasted like they came out of a box. The pasta was cold and sitting, with what tasted like from-a-jar sauce. The beef entree was killer - and I was very happy and honestly surprised. 5. The Atmosphere: While the interior of the ship was dated the DJ did a good job playing to the crowd and after dinner, there was a lot of dancing and laughter. We absolutely enjoyed that. The sunset was beautiful. But that's just a perk of being on a boat. The Take-Away: If this place was just a club on the water or something, they'd have much more success. They wouldn't have to scam you into coming with false-advertised prices for crappy food and abhorrent service. If they put some money into making the boat and the dock a bit more attractive they could really bring an enormous amount of business in. The whole thing felt lazy and unprofessional. This is coming from someone who didn't have high expectations knowing what Groupon deals typically get you. Will I ever go again? No. Will I ever recommend this to a friend? Hell no. We ended up rolling with the punches and ended up having a great time because of how poor service was - it became funny. The dancing, the views, and the music were all good. read more

EXTREMELY IMPRESSED! I had all ready booked the Cornucopia Majesty before I read the reviews, so for about 7 months I was like uh this could be pretty bad... No food sampling & no one i personally knew had any experience with them. We had our ceremony & our reception on the Majesty out of Hoboken. Gorgeous location!! Roof top over looking Manhattan. Hadaiyet would meet with us any time & we could see the boat & discuss anything we wanted. The staff was very friendly, the food was very good, the ship looked gorgeous! Pros: -packages to meet most budgets -a lot more reasonable than other dinner cruises in Manhattan - an elevator comes in handy -gorgeous wallcovering, not overdone like most halls - gorgeous pier Cons: -parking in Hoboken $20+ -hire a wedding planner/coordinator to make sure things run smoothly - we didn't get to serve our cake -at 11:30 you really have to make your way off the ship Thanks Cornucopia Staff! read more

I called to see if there was space for my husband and I before I bought the groupon, and the woman on the phone was nasty. She just snapped that I had to buy the groupon first before booking and shut the phone. I almost didn't buy it because of her attitude. When I called back a second time after purchasing the groupon, she THEN told me I had to pay almost $23 in tax and gratuity right now over the phone, and that id be sitting with strangers. Those two things could've been mentioned the first time I talked to her but were conveniently left out. Anyways, when we got to the actual ship, we loved the experience. The food was great (salmon was top-notch, kudos to the chef), the DJ was very entertaining, and the servers were sweet and funny. We did not notice the "dirty windows" like everyone is complaining about because it was nighttime and we did not notice. The windows had fogged up though, so we did not have much of a view. We went outside and saw NYC, but it was cold so we went back in. I would not recommend this if you are going solely for the view, but it was certainly a nice night out. read more

Ok, we went on the princess. Let me start with the good... All staff members I encountered were very friendly and polite. Even when I was walking about the boat the staff I saw helping others seemed like quality personalities. The cruise itself was much nicer then I expected. Pretty good views of the verrazano off in the distance and areas of the Jersey shore that I never found appealing looked pretty good. Also it goes under the outer bridge crossing which was really nice on the way back. Salad was acceptable. The beef short ribs were not dissapointing however I had lowered my expectations the potatoes that came with the short ribs were excellent. Dessert was the best part of the meal cheesecake was better then I expected and tirimisu was also much better then I expected keep in mind every minute I was there I was lowering my expectations. The not so good... Drink service was very slow, there wasn't a bartender I could go directly to, The bottled beers they we're much warmer then I can forgive. The bread was quartered kaiser rolls. The appetizers were carelessly tossed onto each other cross contaminating the varieties in a way that could have been easily advoided. The pasta was a very small portion (several fork fulls, which I loved and everyone else complained about) What was bad about the pasta in my opinion was just that for a small portion I expected it to taste good and the sauce had a burned taste and the cheese they topped it with is that fake parmesean that they sell in grocery stores that never needs to be refrigerated. The only vegetarian entrée was eggplant parmesean and my wife disliked it also it didn't come with the potatoes that my short ribs did which would have probably made her OK with it, I shared mine with her but they still lose the star for entrées. Also the vessel has seen and smelled much better days. I honestly can't advise you if you should or shouldn't go. I can say that I do not look foward to ever going back, but I don't dread the possibility because the staff was friendly and there was ample space to sit outside without other people being on top of us. I've never been on a dinner cruise before so I though it'd be a good idea to celebrate me and my boyfriends birthday in this one. 1. We were a party of 8. 6 tickets were purchased by 1 person and the other 2were purchased by another. When it was time to get on the boat the lady checking tickets gave us an attitude because on her paper the reservation said six. On the ticket my boyfriend handed her it said 8. I guess you don't need to know how to read English to work there. 2. We got into the cruise and as I'm looking around the place was very outdated. The carpet and furniture were very old. The decor was dreadful. 3. The waitress was rushing us to order when there was ONE menu on the table for 8 people. My sister asked for water twice. Eventually she just went to the bar and got it herself. 4. The music was being played on an outdated computer using one of those old remixing systems. The Dj was about 75 years old so he was playing depressing 70s music. He was better off plugging in pandora and just letting that play all night. 5. The bar was probably the only thing I liked. The bar tenders were friendly, drinks were reasonably priced and the drinks were good. 6. The food was AWFUL. They've gotta be kidding if they call that a 4 course meal. The first course was a small plate of frozen "seafood" following another small plate of "pasta". The main course was in edible. The short ribs were cold, you can tell the strong beans were frozen. I couldn't eat it. 7. I had a great time because of the people I was with and of course alcohol always brings everyone together. I'm not sure who was running the 4th of July cruise we booked, but it was horribly disorganized mess and I would never recommend the Cornucopia Majesty! Lines were ridiculous and unmonitored, didn't board until an hour after the cruise was supposed to begin and tons of people cut the "line" , still docked for another 45 min after boarding. Not even close to enough chairs for all the people, they refused to let people purchase food on board, so many went without food and the buffet/bars were running out of things half way through the cruise. Where do I begin, they were supposed to board at 11:30 am and they didn't board until close to 11:45, that may not seem like much time but when waiting in line in the 90 degree sun with a toddler it is a long time. Turns out they were waiting for some guy with a lap top to show up that had the reservations on it. Really unprofessional to be late. We finally board and we are given a numbered table to sit at, I immediately notice that our table was missing a place setting. I asked a staff member who just happened to be our waitress if we could have another place setting and she tried to get us to just move to another table. I explained to her that we could not do this being that the tables were assigned seating. I was quite shocked that she was not aware of this. Moving forward after already boarding late they decided to wait for a party of 6 who didn't completely get on board until around 12:15. This was completely absurd for the amount of money that was spent on this brunch. We finally set sail and our waitress came around to take out drink orders (which are not included in the price) I pre tipped her so that we would get decent service and get our drinks in a timely manner since we were not allowed to go to the bar on our own. Finally we were able to eat by about 12:30 and the food was buffet style. Everything was pre cooked and cold to say the least. The food itself had it not been cold tasted okay. Beware the mimosas are $10 per glass. After eating we went up stairs to the top deck of the ship to enjoy the sights and it was completely fifthly. There was a huge pile of dried bird droppings on the bench seating and behind the bench seating there was a ton of used cups, napkins, straws and all types of garbage. Also they automatically charge you a 20% gratuity at the end of the brunch on your drink check. Mind you I pre tipped my server at the beginning so you think she would have not put the 20% gratuity on the drink bill at the end. But she did and when I said "well I already tipped you" she said "well I can take I off"...how ungrateful in my opinion. Not worth the price for his brunch in my opinion. read more

I just went on this dinner cruise last night, we had booked with a party. We paid about $83 per person, not including gratuity. 1. The food: we were given an almost cold appetizer, which were definitely frozen at one time. It had a spinach spanakopita, pig in a blanket, half a hash brown, and a deep fried breaded shrimp. They give you bread basket afterwards. You can ask for more bread, just have to ask your server and wait a few minutes, but at least it's warm. The next serving was an alfredo pasta which looked like they barely gave us a spoonful. Next was a barely there salad. There was more plate than salad. Everyone at our table laughed about how you either had 1 crouton, or none at all. It was just lettuce and dressing. The main course was better. The short rib ripped tote apart so easily, but it was very fatty and really needed a marinade for flavor. The salmon was a big portion, and tasted good...you just have to ask for extra dill sauce. The green beans tasted frozen, so it wasn't eaten. They gave you 3 different cake options for dessert, and they were the tiniest servings. Drinks: the only complimentary drinks are water, hot tea, and coffee. Sodas cost about $2 each, and no free refills. We had the green sangria for around $30, but it was super tasty. Yeah the dance floor is small, but we still had fun. The DJ played good music and everyone looked to be having a good time. Overall, I probably wouldn't pay $80 for this again. If it were $40, sure. The view isn't that great. It's nice that you can go take a look at all levels outside. I'm sure it's expensive to run a boat, and pay crew and maintenance, but I don't feel like I got my $80 worth just to be on a boat. I thought the food was okay my issue is that softdrinks should be free or lower than $3 also the air conditioning did not work when I went and it was extremely warm. I have a heart condition as well as COPD I had an extremely hard time trying to breath. I can only use my rescue inhaler every 4 hours so I just struggled on the 3 hour course. read more

Horrible experience!!!! We bought tickets for New Year's in NY and it was a nightmare. They treated us like animals. They were pushing us in the rain. The boat was more than 1 hour late and nobody cared. We were freezing in the cold and the rain and they had us waiting and waiting while they were pushing us to stand in the back. DO NOT EVER GO WITH THIS COMPANY. There is zero customer service. We bought our tickets from i-events. BIG MISTAKE. There is one guy responding to the emails, Adam Riccio, who is the sales manager. I only have a couple of negatives. I wish kids weren't allowed on the cruise. I don't mean to sound insensitive. Or if children are allowed, then some nights should be reserved for adults only or age 16 and up. Also, the food wasn't that great. The four of us went on the Sunday brunch cruise. We had a great time. The boat was clean, nice ambiance, great music and tasty food. The drinks weren't overpriced and the crowd was very diverse. I would have given it 5 stars but the scenery was terrible. All you see is small towns and dirt mounds. I wish the cruise route went past some fields, a city or beautiful bridge. This particular boat was very old and needs some major renovations. The steps leading up and down to other boat levels were covered in tattered and ripped carpeting which I almost tripped on. The buffet food was running low and in some cases completely ran out by the time our table was called up. Same happened with desserts as we were on a different level when dessert initially came out. It was a spectacular summer night so that made up for all the rest. Great ride around Manhattan. I would just choose another boat. read more

Pick a table with strangers , have lots of sangria ! Eat good food , listen to some music and enjoy the ride . Dress up but comfortable and have fun . The party is where you make it . Food was ok , service was great , sangria was excellent and I had a wonderful time with strangers who became friends . Very worth the experience . read more

Worst experience ever. July 4 Cruise: NO organization. No one knew where to direct customers to pick up their tickets. One employee would direct you in the opposite direction of another. Absolute mosh pit just to check in. No one directed a line or seemed to have any idea as to where to point people. One man in a white shirt told everyone to line up on the left side and 30 minutes later another guys said that we should have been in the right line. THEN another woman told us that we actually should be in the front of the boardwalk, to which the second guy then forced us back into the right-side line. List of ticket holders was on a print out sheet and you had to crowd the individuals on the boardwalk to try and get checked in - There was no check in booth or table. They truly were standing in the middle of the boardwalk without signage while swarms of people tried to shove and get checked in. Boarding started 1.5 hours late and didn't depart until 2 hours late. Ticket said to board BY 5:45. At 6:30 no one had even been checked in. I finally got on the boat around 7:30 but many didn't until 8. Bar ran out of tequila and other products one hour in. The boat did not position itself very well for the fireworks show, meaning the majority of people couldn't even see the fireworks. I had open bar tickets from 6-10, but ultimately, due to their delay, the open bar was really 8-10:30. No food was served except a gross buffet on the 3rd floor, and that was only accessible to certain ticket holders. No snacks available for purchase. 0/10 recommend. Absolute catastrophe. read more

My wife & I recently enjoyed your dinner cruise this past Saturday. The food was excellent, the service superb and the overall experience was positive. The musical choices of the DJ was another story altogether. I would say that 75% of his selections had a Latin theme with songs that not many patrons knew. There was about 15 minutes of "rock" music when the dance floor was full. There was even at least 1 contemporary song that was sung by a Spanish performer with Latin lyrics. At the very end of the cruise (about 15 minutes from port) he played several recognizable songs typically used to kick off a celebratory event, not end one. The Black Eyed Peas (Tonight's Going to be a Good Night), LMFAO (Party Rock) and several others. But by this time the dance floor was empty as everyone was anticipating their own departure. There was a fairly large group of teenagers on the cruise, we assume celebrating a Prom event or something similar. Several of them were observed listening to their i-Pods outside while the DJ was playing his own music. Apparently we weren't the only ones not pleased with the musical selections of your DJ. Several couples around us also expressed their displeasure. Again, the music was a major disappointment on the cruise. There were two instances where the boat rocked severely nearly making my wife ill and certainly put a damper on her activity for a good 30 - 45 minutes. We were informed it always happened as the vessel approached the VZ bridge heading out to the Statue of Liberty and again upon our return. The cruise was also much too long. Your web site indicates the return is at 11:30 PM but we didn't dock until 1:30 AM. I overheard several patrons complain that they had hired sitters for their children and were very unhappy at the time difference from what was advertised and the actual landing. This is clearly within your control and needs to be addressed. Overall our experience was "Fair" and I doubt we would do it again. To be honest, I even doubt I would recommend it to our friends.
