True rating 2 1/2 stars. Rustic place with a dive bar as you enter and a decent size dining room next to it. The dining room has a step up stage. Last night they had a solo performer who obviously knew the locals that frequent the place. We walked in at 6pm and were greeted by a cute, friendly bartender. Limited beer choices (5 beers on tap). Nothing exciting on the beer choices so I opted for a yuengling. Beer was cold and fresh. We ordered steak quesadilla and garlic shrimp. It took exactly 1 hour to get our food! The bartender who was serving us was nice enough but not experienced enough to keep us informed about the long delay. The shrimp was just OK, the quesadilla was pretty good. We sat at a high table in the bar area.

Decent food and drink with good price, waiter is friendly. We went there for lunch and it wasn't busy. From what I heard evening and night is alot more busy

Let's start this review by going over what it used to be...This new venture has taken over one of the long standing now defunct Italian establishments in Bayonne "Amici's." It has now been taken in a slightly new direction...the Italian still presents itself in their menu...but it has gone to a unique fusion theme with western. That is right ladies and gentleman...we have an Italian-Western joint?!? The problem is it isn't quite good at either of them. The burger that I had was quite possibly the worst I have had in a full service restaurant. "The Cowboy Burger" seemed like the way to go in a western place...the hockey puck that they served me was devoid of any flavor whatsoever. With seemingly zero seasoning added to the paddy...it overcompensated with too much BBQ sauce and a pile of crisp onion thins. The onion thins were actually the best part of the burger. I had to take off the top portion of the bun because it was either so stale, or so toasted that I could barely bite into the burger. I am not exaggerating about the bun...but it was barely edible. The Italian was slightly better but I would not even place it in the top ten in town for quality or value. The redeeming quality is the bar...friendly bartenders and good prices on light beer. Craft options are lacking...but were not expected. The bar deserves a good review, the venue is slightly new so hopefully the ceiling on quality will raise when it concerns the food.

I was pleasantly surprised with Buttero. I had the fried chicken and substituted the potatoes for mac and cheese, the fried chicken was perfectly crispy and Oh man the mac and cheese was amazing! The drinks are really good too, I had the Buttero and it was very tasty. The waiter that we had was the same waiter from when it was Amicis and he is one of the sweetest waiters, I'm really happy he stuck around for the change. I can't wait to go back and try the rest of what they have to offer!

The menu is about half American food and half Italian American, so there's a nice variety to choose from. Prices are comparable to the casual dining chains but the food tastes MUCH fresher. The coconut chicken, either alone as an appetizer or on the salad is a stand-out dish. Burgers are huge and delicious. Margaritas are always good, and best of all they play country music and have country line dancing here sometimes.

On the day of the event (6/7/2026) the decorators arrived at 5pm (the agreed upon time) there were two tables that had not been cleaned (beer bottles and dirty plates and utensils). We had to go look for someone to clean the tables. It took about 20 minutes for them to come out to clean them, therefore, the decorators had to work around them. The area where the food was setup buffet style had a ceiling leak where water was dropping continuously from the ceiling directly in front of the tables where the food was. They had a white and yellow pallet on the floor catching the water. Not only did it look bad but very unsanitary. I contacted Victor the following day to voice my displeasure and suggested the he give us a discount on what we had paid. He said that he had to speak to his boss about the situation and would get back in touch with me the following day. He did not call me. I contacted him the following day. He was not in, but I spoke to someone else. He kept making excuses about the air conditioner, but never apologized. Said he would call me back. I contacted Victor two days later. He wanted to know what he could do to make things right. I told him that we got no apology. He finally apologized. I also told him about a discount or partial refund of $200. He said that I would hear from him by 6/12/26 because he wanted to make it right with me. Said that he would put the money back on my card. To date, I have not heard from him and have not received anything from them. I will never use them again and will let others know about my experience. Obviously, the Chandelier does not care about pleasing its customers.

The weather was absolutely ideal -- warm enough to enjoy being outside but still crisp, with very little humidity. Basically, rooftop weather perfection. The biggest draw here is, without question, the view. The space itself is beautiful, with a nice mix of indoor and outdoor seating, but seeing the Manhattan skyline illuminated at night is what makes this place special. It's one of those views that reminds you why people romanticize New York and the surrounding area so much. They offer a full food menu, although it appeared to be available primarily for guests seated indoors. The outdoor area seemed to focus more on drinks and lighter bites. Just know before you go: this is definitely a splurge spot. Everything is priced at a premium, so prepare yourself accordingly. Unfortunately, the service experience got off to a rough start. Both the security staff and hostess came across as unwelcoming and not particularly friendly. Whether they were overwhelmed or simply having an off night, it didn't create the best first impression. My biggest disappointment, however, was the restroom situation. By around 9:30 p.m., the bathroom was already in pretty terrible condition. Honestly, it was hard to believe it had deteriorated that much in just a few hours, and it gave the impression that it may not have been properly cleaned earlier in the day. Overall, Rooftop at Exchange Place delivers exactly what most people come for: spectacular views, a beautiful atmosphere, and an unforgettable skyline backdrop. Just be prepared for premium prices, a potentially lukewarm welcome, and hope that someone has checked on the bathrooms before you arrive.

Have been to this location for the 4th of July in the past and was beyond excited to go back again…read more I was deeply disappointed and angered by the way management managed the influx of reservations and walk ins. I had an 8:30 reservation and arrived 30 minutes prior (according to their strict directions via text). I waited in line for an hour and 15 minutes and only received a wristband as the fireworks were going off and after arguing with the manager Jude. He consistently let walk ins in before dealing with any reservations. We also paid 35 dollars in advance. Once I got up to the rooftop, I was informed I would have to wait longer as they were kicking people out of our table. I asked to speak with a manager and again was forced to wait 35 minutes and witnessed a hostess quit mid shift. I do want to note, while waiting in line, a kind security guard informed me that the manager was letting people in who were late to their reservation. For example, a couple came at 8:00 for their 7:15 reservation and were let in. This was a horrible experience and will never be back. I understand the craziness of the 4th of July but this could have been avoided. Do not spend your money here, there are plenty of amazing places in Jersey City. Check out District! We went there instead and it was 10/10.

SECOND, the food is just as amazing! I was so happy hahah. It's been a long time since I enjoyed a restaurant for more than just their food. We came here for my boyfriend's parent's anniversary and the server's were wonderful and honestly very thoughtful as well! They were very attentive to our table and refilled our waters often. I also say this because when my bf's parents ordered the halibut to split, they had brought out their meal in two individual plates that were beautifully plated, you would think they ordered separately! They also took our group picture! :) We ordered 2 orders of the Basement Snacks: For Two, 2 orders of their raw oysters for appetizers. For my entree I ordered the Shrimp Carbonara Rossa with a side of Asparagus. Everything was so good. Their buffalo wings were perfectly marinated and not too saucy, their ribs were so tender and the meat fell straight off the bone! My carbonara was also delicious. For dessert they even gave an anniversary treat which was so sweet. I ordered a Chocolate Cappuccino which was also great. 11/10! Wonderful and would recommend.

We had a lovely night out with a couple who are our long time and good friends and we looked forward to this evening! However, there was a problem at the beginning of the evening that is unacceptable... my husband went to park the car, our friends were waiting at the bar for us, I walked in first. My friend ordered me an Aperol Spritz and my husband a diet coke. My husband does not drink and has been very successful with his sobriety for many years. The bartender, (I later found out her name is Maureen and apparently she is a manager there), misunderstood the drink order so my friend reiterated that we wanted a diet coke and an Aperol Spritz (two separate drinks). The "diet coke" arrived in a soda glass with a lemon wedge (just like a diet coke would) and the Aperol Spritz arrived in a cocktail glass. My husband took a sip of the "diet coke" and asked me if it tasted like there was liquor in it. Sure enough there was. We immediately returned it and the other bartender confirmed that it was a mix of Aperol Spritz with diet coke in the soda glass. My husband confronted the bartender and told her about her grievous mistaken and full disclosure, he said this is a "big f$%ken mistake you made". She took absolutely no responsibility for her error and shouted at him that she "was told to make a diet coke with Aperol Spritz". Truth be told, we clarified the drink order to her and why would she present the "diet coke" in a soda glass if it indeed was a cocktail. She went full "Karen mode" on him when she should have apologized. My request is that she re-trains in customer service and her ability to mix drinks! Like I said above, the food was excellent, the waiter was great, but this error is a serious error. People do make mistakes, but please acknowledge your mistakes and take care with serious issues. The dining experience was great, but I cannot give a 5 star due to the error.

The creamy Calabrian pepper tomato sauce delivers a legitimate, vibrant heat that doesn't hold back. Breaking into the Italian burrata is essential; the creamy center beautifully tempers the spice, while the micro basil adds a nice hit of freshness. We also started with the truffle fries, which were executed perfectly--crispy, aromatic, and a total highlight. The Service: While the food was top-tier, the service wasn't great which is why I deducted 2 whole stars. I ordered a ginger ale that never made it to the table, yet it still appeared on our final bill - not cool. It's a small detail, but at this level of dining and price point, you expect those things to be caught. Also, the service overall was pretty slow which was disappointing. Verdict: Even with the minor billing oversight, the culinary execution is elite. If you're a fan of bold, spicy pasta and a great atmosphere, this is still a JC must-visit.
