We had the pleasurable experience of Chris being our server and his attentiveness and hospitality made me and my wife anniversary date a memorable day. What a wonderful experience aboard to Bateaux New York! I cannot suggest this dinner cruise enough, because who doesn't need an excellent excuse to put on a gown and see some views, listen to some jazz, and eat delicious food! **Food: We did the three course meal I selected the cauliflower and leek chowder, the Cioppino, and the Spanish style cheese cake. The cauliflower and leek chowder is the perfect beginning, light and full of flavor- which we ate along with a bread and herbed butter. The cioppino had the perfect portion of shrimp, mussels, and scallops with the squid ink linguini. They load it up with a flavor fueled tomato sauce. I'd never had this type of cheese cake before, but I will 10/10 have again, not too sweet and the perfect small portion- to finish off our meal. I sipped on French 75s which were lemony and fresh; and one of the on board specials (something about on the Hudson)- which was equally as delicious. **Service: Upon arriving to the boat- we were offered a helpful hand to get from land to sea- by a very happy friendly gentlemen. We were greeted by "Swan" who was running the floor with grace and precision; and bright smile and handshake through out. Our waitress Miss J, was sweet as pie and very attentive and extremely helpful with the menu (thank you for helping me get the names right!) The crew as a whole truly made for a divine experience- with their delight at our delight. **Ambience: Magical. From the views, to the high end decor, the low lighting, and jazz. This is perfect for a nice date, to catch up with friends, to drag your parents from the Midwest to the city to see the statue in a classy way, and more. I would like to note, later in the cruise they went from jazz to covers of pop songs-- which caught me off guard, because of the ambience they set up- but there were certainly people aboard that enjoyed them, however. 5/5 I'd most certainly be overjoyed to experience this again! read more

We have done this dinner cruise twice. Food is decent. You get your choice of three different entrees. Wine selection is okay. The staff and service is excellent. The live music makes the little voyage!! Duo on piano and vocals, mostly the standards but also do special requests for special occasions. Of course, cruising the bay with drivebys of the Statue of Liberty is one of the best parts! It is very touristy but nice to experience at least once. read more

Our waiter was nice but not very attentive, I felt like we had to chase him when we needed something. The downer here was certainly the bathroom . I expected a lot from this business event having organized and attended several business boat events around Manhattan in the past. I was disappointed. The menu included "The Gramercy Cone" ( two small waffles rolled around a too thick cut of smoked salmon and truffle oil creme fraiche. I took a bite and it was a mistake. "Tribeca Croquettes" ( three small balls of mashed potatoes and Katz's Pastrami put through a food mill and fried). It made no sense. "Spicy Rigatoni al Mare" ( Rigatoni with a spicy tomato sauce with three enormous shrimp. The sauce was good, the shrimp as tough as nails and completely cold. A cronut dessert was nice. I asked for coffee three times and it was served to me as I was leaving the ship. The noise level was horrible, you could not hear your server. The lucite covering over the ship added to the din. This covering was clouded too, and caused the heat and humidity to grow as the night went on. If you are susceptible to sea sickness you are apt to get ill. Also, i found the cheerleading by the ship's staff over a microphone all through dinner to be cheap and distracting, this is NOT a high school outing. read more

We are local couple and we just wanted to relive together to our dating memories. We had dinner curies before but this time we wanted to be more luxurious. There is couple website to book the curies, but the cheapest website didn't have the option to book the table. We wanted to have a window seat, so we paid extra for it. The trickle was the day because if you book too far or too soon the price were different. I ended up paid extra and expensive for the trip because I want everything to be smooth. The Service was good and I'm appreciative. We had crab & corn Chowder. then they had a paused for the second course. For the second course, my husband had Atlantic striped Bass and I has Osso Bucco. it was ok. For the third course. my husband had Basque 'Spanish Style' Cheesecake and I have Tres Leches that wasn't delicious at all. The experiences were good, they seem to focus on tourist customer, lol. So I would like to let others know it's a scam, or perhaps they are racist. It was Halloween on my birthday and they basically didn't allow us in because my son and wife had matching customs. We arrived in time before the boat departure and they basically didn't allow us. Yet again it was on Halloween. Ended up spending my time in the bowling alley next to the pier to not ruin my night . But the worst case about it is the fact that they claimed I used the voucher. The least they could have done is refund my money if they didn't allow us in. But this was the worst experience for my birthday ever. Never again , worst case about it is I have taken the boat ride prior. read more

I was so fortunate to have my best friend book the dinner cruise for my birthday! We had an amazing time aboard the Bateaux. The staff was incredibly pleasant and efficient. The entire night was a super classy and upscale experience. I loved the food and the incredible views of Manhattan and the ocean. You have full range of going outside the boat whenever you want and seeing the views. The food was incredibly delicious as well! My favorites were the seafood tower, clam chowder soup and the chicken with rosemary. The chicken was a bit salty but it was delicious! The drinks were also great! The only things I didn't like were the margarita and the dessert which was chocolate cake. The cake was very dry. The entire experience is something that all should do! We wanted a romantic night out and this dinner cruise delivered! From 7pm to 10pm and the cruise took us around the Hudson River to see the city and the Statue of Liberty from a different view. The boat was very comfortable and had a glass ceiling with heat and air so you could comfortably see everything. We went outside for photos and a closer look several times as well. The weather was PERFECT. The meal includes an appetizer, main dish, and dessert. They will try to "up sell" you on the food but we just went with what was included. They also have live entertainment and you can dance if you want to. It was VERY RELAXING and a highlight of our trip. read more

Absolutely amazing! We went on the New York Bateaux Premier Plus glass side/rooftop dinner cruise and everything was fantastic. From the very start we had amazing customer service from the house manager Cassandra/Cass that went above and beyond the entire cruise. Thank you so much. Our waitress Eme was the best ever and made us feel like family. Matt the 1st mate was so friendly and also went above and beyond. The food was the best and I'm still licking my lips from how good it was. The musical entertainment was perfect to an elegant evening out and we loved the band and singer. We can't wait to come back. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE EVER I took my husband to celebrate his birthday, let me start from their price. They are a hell lot expensive, and no value for money. If you want to eat sea food get a package with extra 150 bucks. If you want to drink get a package with extra 100 bucks. I bought the package in which the food was included and plus I bought drinks package too as my husband loves trying new drinks. Worst experience stared here with our server- her name was Cassandra. Terrible server ever I have met in my life. She did not deliver food on time, when everyone was done eating after that she brought the food. Plus I told her to minus just one thing from salad she didn't even deliver that properly to chef and still I let that go. But when we ordered our first drink and food she never came to attend us. We had to tell other server to bring our drink and food, we paid for 8 drinks and and we only had 4 drinks. She never brought our drinks on time nor our food . Plus food was really really OK. Not worth your money. And here another thing when we ordered our food she never mentioned anything about which food was included in package and which doesn't. And we ended up paying extra for food. And also when everyone was leaving that time they brought our dessert. Tip of advice| if you get a package for drink just order all of your drinks at once otherwise they will never bring it . Magnificent views of downtown, the World Trade Center tower, the Brooklyn Bridge and Lady Liberty await you. The service, from the Maitre d'Hotel at the reception to the Captain, not forgetting our server, were fantastic. Five star service indeed! Let's address the elephant in the room, why a 4 and not a 5? The food was good, but at $200+ a person without wine, we expected more. A simple salad to start, I had the Sea Bass and found it under seasoned. Forgot to do a check- in here, but this was a nice experience. Not much to say but that I had a lovely time. The food was good, but I wanted more. The drinks were nice, forgot to take pics. The service was good. Everyone was friendly and well behave, being that we were on a 1 or 2 hour lunch tour around the city. They had people come around to take pics of you and your guest, or whoever you came with, and then sell it back to you for a price. I did buy a set because they were professional and a nice memory of a beautiful afternoon. You can step outside to the front of the boat to take pics, or just veiw the city up close and personal. The boat is all glass so you can see from inside, but its better to get some pics from the outside. They had someone speaking and giving us a tour as we went pass places. They also had piano music playing. It was all really lovely. I would'nt care to do again, it was more of a one time experience for me to do, living in the N.Y. its a must. I want to try their sister ship, Spirit Cruises next time. They have buffet style dinners instead of 3 course style like this one had. This was an interesting experience for a boat cruise. Combining dinner & music with the New York City skyline as day turns to night, not to mention you get to enjoy it on the water. All in all we had a good time. We got some good pictures and enjoyed a couple parts of the food a lot. Pros: - Restroom was clean - Music was good, not too loud and they were talented - Food was in good quality, my only minor issue was with a lobster bisque that was not meaty at all. Things to know: - I have the seasick issue and managed to survive. Though it was a little choppy while you wait to embark off and when you arrive back...would recommend you pregame with motion sickness medicine if you are especially sensitive. The staff for this cruise was more than accommodating, so much so that they mailed back a couple belongings we forgot on the boat after we were already out of state. I would give them a negative star if I could. I had high hopes based on some of the reviews off Yelp and TripAdvisor. We were in New York for our one year anniversary. I booked the most special excursion I could find to celebrate. The deluxe package came with roses, champagne, and a private table by the window. I wanted a private table, because from the picture it looked like there were big long tables, and I was going for a romantic vibe. It was sooo expensive, but this was a special night for us, so what the heck - I have a credit card lol. There were no signs indicating where to go once you got to dock 61, so we walked around a bit, but we were at the boat exactly at 7, when the directions said to be there, with our IDs and mobile tickets ready in hand. The boat was still in the harbor and hadn't left, it was still hooked to the moorings. I had our tickets on my mobile. My boyfriend was talking with one guy who looked like the one that took the tickets to get onboard. He seemed willing to let us walk down the ramp onto the boat, but asked another guy if he could let us on, who then asked if we had our tickets. Yes, I said holding up my mobile tickets... He asked did we have paper tickets? The mobile tickets weren't enough, we were to get paper tickets somewhere apparently .... He said no, and told the other guy they were leaving. He ignored my boyfriend who was trying to talk to him, while this guy, who seemed to be the boss untied the boat. I stood next to my tearing up, just so pissed off. The cruise looked almost empty. It was a Monday night. The boat was still there. They must have already prepared our table, with the roses and the champagne and of course the food. It seems short sighted of them not to let us on, when we were right there when we were supposed to be. If we needed to check in in advance BEFORE 7:00 pm and get paper tickets despite being told mobile were okay, we should have been warned in advance. Then we could have gotten there fifteen minutes earlier, and it would have been bad on us for not being there before 7:00. Mistakes happen, but I will never book through this company or Trip Advisor again particularly because of the mean spirited way the employee spoke to my boyfriend. The inaccuracy of the information I received at booking is unforgivable. And yeah, I was especially pissed as I said because my hopes were so high, and that our special evening was ruined. A lady walked up to us as the boat sailed away - We were kinda just standing there shocked at what just happened. She asked if we were the ones that was supposed to be on the boat. She seemed really nice and said she was sorry, so not all that are associated with this business are jerks. read more

The CS reps were so kind and promised they would assist me in returning my item. However, it is all a facade. Viator Bateaux NEVER responded to my inquiry. In NYC for business and a native suggested we take this dinner cruise. We signed up the same day (on a Tuesday) and did not choose to do the guaranteed window seat upgrade. We boarded at 6:15 and launched on time at 7:00. We were totally happy with our seats as the roof is glass and essentially there is not a bad seat in there. We were able to get up and go out on the deck to take pictures. I had the lobster bisque, crab cakes and the Bateaux butter cake. All were delicious, but the cake was incredible! Service was great with Deborah as our waitress. My only complaint was being charged for the water! $12 for still water bottle and $19 for sparkling. Really?! I have taken Spirit, Hornblower and Bateaux cruises in the past which I have always enjoyed. I have always chosen the Bateaux for special occasions because of the elevated experience (food and service.) This year I decided to take my visiting mom and my aunt on the Bateaux Thanksgiving cruise. I was extremely disappointed with how much the food, service and overall experience has declined now that it is under the umbrella of City Experiences (Hornblower). Originally, there were several City Experiences Thanksgiving Day cruises to chose from. The number cruises got reduced over the last few weeks which may explain why our cruise was uncomfortably overcrowded. The Bateaux traditionally added a sophisticated touch by providing live music which has now been downgraded to a DJ. In the past, the plated service was always on point and memorable. The service on this holiday cruise was underwhelming and disorganized. Our water, drinks and bread did not arrive until after our appetizers. Someone tried to serve us our appetizers twice and our server did not seem to be happy that she was scheduled to work on Thanksgiving. The food on the Bateaux never strived (nor expected) to be Michelin rated quality, however it has always been a few steps above what is served on the buffets on the other dinner cruises that they offer. This time the seafood chowder tasted like it was out of a can. The turkey was fine, but there was nothing exceptional about it or the sides that were served sloppily with it. The advertised assorted seasonal 'dessert station' must have been eliminated so that more tables could be added. We were served a sad looking plate of random mediocre basic dessert selections. I would still consider using City Experiences for their other cruises, but I would not recommend paying a premium price for The Bateaux due to the fact that it is no longer a premium product. read more

I took my girlfriend on the Valentines day cruise this weekend on the Bateaux and I have to say this was nothing short of an absolutely wonderful evening. Before we even entered the vessel the service was amazing already. When we got to our table it was perfectly set and the best server we have experienced regardless of where my girlfriend and I have dined recently and we eat out a lot was Naeem. Naeem was beyond professional and simply amazing at his job. We never had to worry about a thing. Naeem ensured we where all set throughout the three hour beautiful cruise on the Hudson river. The atmosphere was incredible the music and singer that played on Saturday Feb 12th and the band was absolutely incredible the variety you get of music from the live band throughout was fantastic. All of the views and the route the cruise took was a sight to see and we live in the NYC area and it still does not get old. The manager Adrian Silvestre did an excellent job at asking everyone as they walked on the boat how they are doing and if it was a special occasion besides valentines day. The Food was first class. I had the seafood chowder and lobster and filet and chocolate cake. I will tell you just because this is a dinner cruise the quality was just as good if not better than a steak house in the city. I could go on about how much we loved this night. Thank you Naeem & Adrian for really going above and beyond to make our Valentines day special. My hopes are that Naeem & Adrian both get recognized for the exceptional service they both provided us and everyone on the ship. They have a tough job but I could tell they love what they do everyday. And the same band and singer should play every night! We will be back! First class experience all the way around. Everything was fantastic from the live band, ambiance, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the sites on the water were breathtaking! Second time sailing and highly recommend. We travelled from Detroit to NYC. This dinner cruise was our big outing. We purchased formal attire and were truly excited for this opportunity. At 6:00 PM the night of the cruise (boarding began at 6:30), we received a notification from the cruise line confirming our reservation. We got in a cab, paid ~$40 to get to the pier....and the boat was dark! No service agents around, no one answering their customer service line or chat feature. I did use the chat feature around 1PM to confirm the location of the pier, which I later found after digging through several emails---not even listed on their website. NO ONE WAS THERE.....there was another couple that was also waiting for the cruise, so we were not the only ones. To add fuel to the fire, the next morning after the cruise, we received a THANKS for SAILING with us email.....LOL! For a cruise that never happened. Still no reply to my email. Monday morning I called the reservation center and was told that they cancelled the cruise because they had unplanned inspections. They thought they had contacted everyone....but apparently not. I kindly asked for a refund of my $400 PLUS the cab fare ($40), which I felt was very reasonable considering the inconvenience caused by the cruise line. In checking my statement, I received the flat $400....hence the reason I'm not hesitant to post this review. In my opinion, when there is such a heinous mistake, there should be a little extra to compensate or keep the customer in good standing. Save your money and head over to the Russian Tea Room or Brooklyn Chop House. Both were excellent and offered impeccable service. read more

Had the opportunity to experience this amazing cruise last week with my girlfriend, by far the best thing we did in New York. The views were absolutley breath taking, felt like we were in a movie or something. I usually don't write reviews but I wanted to give a big thank you to Jamal our concierge for the evening, he really went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. They printed us a nice little sign which my girlfriend loved, and Jamal even went out of the way to accommodate a last minute request of ours. Thank You again Jamal for everything. We went for a friend's birthday and had the most awesome time! Beautiful views, great food, and the staff on the boat was fantastic. It was our first time, we had a table of 9, and really enjoyed ourselves. It is a bit pricey and for as much as we paid, I was hoping to get at least one glass of bubbly, but sadly no. I also called, after we purchased, to see about adding the drink tickets to our individual ticket as we have some that don't drink and was informed you can't add on, it has to be done at time of original purchase. I don't remember seeing that stated anywhere, but could have missed it. Thought that was a wasted opportunity and an inconvenience to the customer. There was 'no, sorry we can't' by the agent, she's was just, 'nope, can't be done.' No solution or apology offered. Those 2 things are the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. After bookmarking this on my Yelp list for years ,I finally got to come here last night. I came here for my best friend's birthday celebration and we had the best time. It was such a beautiful classy evening. Every single staff member I met was super sweet. The dinner cruise was amazing. The food was delicious. The views were spectacular. This city never seizes to amaze me. There was something beautiful about seeing the Statue of Liberty at night. I enjoyed the sunset views overlooking the water. You must get the seafood tower for two, it was honestly my favorite part of the meal. I went with the chicken mushroom dish for my entree and I was very happy. We did the premier drink package and it apparently comes with 8 drinks each person, we are not heavy drinkers at all so probably not the best for us ( it was not specific on website how many drinks that included). The photographer was so nice, we left home with beautiful pictures. This was an amazing experience. I loved the live music, they were truly fantastic. Who doesn't love a live band, a gorgeous 4 course meal sit down with unbelievable views. Definitely pay the extra $$ and get a window seat, so worth it. I rate it 4.5 stars because I was disappointed with my dessert and a cocktail drink I ordered. Dessert is probably what I look forward to the most honestly.Otherwise it was an almost perfect experience. I'm so glad I got to experience this. I'd love to return for brunch. I booked this trip a week in advance in July and I was really happy with my experience. I reserved the dinner buffet at 6 pm and everything went so well. I made sure to arrive before 5 pm as some commented missing the boat. We walked to the pier and although no one was at the booth I knew to walk further in to see the worker at another booth closer to the dock. We boarded and they had designated seating labeled on their chart and we got to our table quickly. The AC was great in the July humidity. The dinner was on time and we were lucky to be one of the first tables to get food, but no issue for the rest as there was enough food. The food was tasty and the variation of food was good. They had nice desserts like cheesecakes, brownie bites and fruit. Our waitress was really nice and happy. The boat does sway side to side but our glasses were fine and it was no issue to walk back to the table if you just focused on it. People who attended were usually families, couples , birthdays , and tourists. The people were dressed semi formal. The views were beautiful and the pace was good for pictures. When done eating, we went to the upper deck and the breeze was perfect. We saw the city and went under the bridges. Great photo opportunities especially when they linger by the Statue of Liberty for a bit. It was so relaxing and my family enjoyed it so much ! They arrived back to the pier on time. Celebrated my daughter's birthday with the lunch cruise. The staff was wonderful. The views were as expected: breathtaking. The menu was simple yet tasty. Everything was perfect in making the celebration extra nice, from the birthday card on the table, to the candle on the dessert, to the red roses she received, and even the warm chocolate chip cookies on the way out. We upgraded to a table by the window, but every table looked like it had a great view. The all-glass enclosure provided magnificent views of NYC. Surprisingly enough, it didn't even get crowded on the deck, and most of the pictures we took didn't have other people in the background. Worth every penny. read more

We had a blast in NYC and decided to end the trip with a dinner cruise around this awesome city. The set up was pretty and we got some niceeeee pictures. We arrived to the ship by our awesome driver Antwan, boarded and promptly seated. It took awhile to be greeted and place our drink order. We ordered 4 bottles of wine for five people and once we finally received them, they were delish. The ship set sail and we checked out the view outside which was spectacular. Once back in our seats we noticed all tables had bread expect us so we stopped the female server that had walked by at least five times, making eye contact but never gave us bread. So we had to request it. We order a seafood that was supposedly for four people that costed $159 however it contained 2 small lobster pieces, six pieces of shrimp, and ceviche. Our dinner order was placed and it took about 30-40 mins before it was served to us. We had pre selected meals for the package however I decided to pay $50 extra for a Waugh steak. I had one in Detroit that was fabulous so when it saw it, I was excited. Well this steak was full of fat and not worth the extra. I did inform Naaem and he insisted on bringing me another one and I was very thankful for that. We also ordered cocktails which was quite watered down however they did bring us new ones that shut us up because they were very strong . The concept of the cruise was a great idea however there were a few things that fell short of an excellent experience. I will give the experience 3 stars but the effort for correction earned 4 stars.
