The service was terrible from the waitress and the bartender. We were informed we could not do separate checks for three different couples. The waitress said she was unable to do this on the register, Which is so totally unacceptable and unbelievable. Waitress again was very rude. The waitress would not refill my water, though she did the other side of the table. Two people ordered before the other 5 and received their food much later than the 5. She did not even acknowledge that their food was late and ignored them multiple times while passing them sitting at the table. There were the group 5 of us and the group of two that they put a 20% tip automatically on our bill, which was so not deserved. When we said something the refused to remove it. My husband ordered beer and asked if he received the correct one and the bartender came out and very rudely informed him she poured the correct beer. We asked for the owners information so we could complain to the owner and low and behold they gave us a nonworking number. Great way to make sure the owner does not know. We will never return or recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Everything was amazing! The staff is friendly, funny, and just outright amazing. The food was to die for. We had the Southwest Empanadas, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We started at the bar and even with music playing, it was easy to carry on a conversation. Just got to Corolla today, but we will definitely visit here again before we leave next week. read more

if you want to go to a hole in wall bar with rude staff you found the right place. Unfortunately food was decent, service was the worst I've had in years. The waitresses were, loud and obnoxious, playing on their phones, didn't refill our drinks even once. Brought a pitcher of water the 3rd time we had to ask for a refill. Automatically charged us a large party 20% gratuity for a family of 6. Honestly I cannot say enough about how horrible the the wait staff was. Best of luck to you if you go. read more

Went for dinner on a Tuesday around 6pm. This place is teeny tiny! There is more seating on the small outside patio than inside tables. We sat at the bar since there were no available tables, which worked well for us. The staff was friendly. They were good with everyone I saw them interact with and checked on us often enough. Full bar available, I had a vodka pineapple and they had 3 types of vodka (Tito's, Absolut & Stoli). They also Had beer, hard seltzers, etc. Mexicanish food on the menu. We started with nachos. They were fine. Nothing great, nothing bad. Then we had quesadillas. I tried the veggie-Dee with chicken, friend had chicken and cheese. Again, it was fine. Stuffed pretty full, so can't complain. I saw some other people with the taco platter and it looked like a lot of food. Cute place to have a few drinks and a few quick eats. Beach vibe. If looking for something easy, stop by. We ate here twice this week because we liked it so much the first time. They have a unique menu and we love their food so much! It has a seafood mix with Mexican type menu. Love the atmosphere here as you can eat inside or outside on the patio. They do allow dogs on the patio, but we love dogs so didn't mind. I had the bbq plate the first night and it was so yummy. I had the burrito the second night and it was great too, but I liked the bbq plate the best. Hubby loved the shrimp tacos. Their chips and dip and crab fries are so good. Service was pretty good. Corolla Cantina is not your typical Mexican restaurant. Instead, it does offer some unique dishes for the Outer Banks. I had the Currituck Club Quesadillas. This dish had jerked chicken as its main ingredient. Accompanied by sour cream, shredded lettuce and tomato. Very good. There is a build your own taco platter, but no standard enchiladas or tacos. Inside seating is limited, but there is ample outdoor seating. Restrooms are outside and around the corner of the building. read more

We chose this spot for dinner because it was close by and the wait wasn't too long. The chips sampler was good, but I wish it had more salsa, guac, and queso to go with all the chips. I tried the taco platter, which came with coconut rice, black beans, slaw, cheddar, salsa, sour cream, Chipotle aioli, grilled chicken and tortillas, so you could build your own. I thought it was pretty underwhelming considering it was $18. The chicken was a bit dry, the rice didn't have a coconut flavor, and the presentation was just alright. I guess that's why they don't have alcohol prices on the menu. Get ready to be charged for EVERYTHING extra you request as well as a fee for using a credit card. I vacillated between a 4 and 5 star review, ultimately going with 5 because my entree at Corolla Cantina may very well be the best thing I ate the entire time I was in the OBX, and I didn't have a bad meal at all while there so that's saying something. That entree? The Sesame Tuna. Seared ahi tuna, perfectly crisp on the outside perfectly pink on the inside and coated with a ginger, sesame, soy sauce and sesame seeds. Every bite was amazing. The pickled seaweed served with it as well as the clean, simple rice and beans on the side? Really, really perfect flavor combinations. Perfect serving size, fairly priced. I was thrilled with this meal. I added a basket of fries to my order for the table and they were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside steak fries in a generous serving. We also did the chips and salsa sampler while waiting on our food--tri color tortilla chips with a fresh salsa (seemed to be sans-cilantro which suited my wife fine as she's one of those unfortunate people for whom cilantro tastes like soap and I didn't miss it this time), a great guacamole, and a tasty cheese dip. My brother and nephew dug the Baja Burrito which was huge, big enough that they split it. My wife liked the chicken quesadilla, simple and straightforward. The only thing I didn't like here? The drinks. I had a lime margarita that tasted like water and ice with a splash of margarita mix, a half-shot of tequilla, and some seltzer. My wife had a mixed drink that tasted pretty much the same despite allegedly containing rum. So skip the $10 cocktails and get water or a beer, otherwise you're good. Also, plan on sitting outside as inside is tiny--but it's great outdoor seating. We ended up here by default, as we tried to get into 2 other Mexican restaruants that had a 2.5 hour wait or were fully booked with reservations. We didn't need a reservation here (and told me by phone they don't take them), and while it isn't really traditional Mexican food (leans heavy on the seafood which was GREAT), we were happy to have ended up here. read more

We had a party of 10 including a 5 year old and a toddler. It was prime dinner time and everywhere was crowded. We called to see how long the wait would be and they said they had availability now so we headed there. They actually made sure to save us an area in case we were coming. They had fun music playing which made my daughters happy. The place is small and unfortunately it was rainy because otherwise there is a nice big outdoor seating area. Our waitress was great but two or three other staff interacted with us and they were all so pleasant and happy. Dancing when my toddler got a little whiny, offering glow sticks which made my girls night! Quick service which is important with a toddler. Everyone was very pleased with their meal. My father in law said it was the best seafood quesadilla he's had! This place gave a cozy island vibe. While we were leaving a huge party was coming in and the staff were extremely prompt in figuring out where they would be seated and offering them drinks while they waited. Walked the Duck Boardwalk and stopped by for a late lunch. Food was pretty good for the price point, my wife had a crab quesadilla and I had a pulled pork bowl. I also had a draft beer and got a souvenir cup with $4 refills, initial beer was $8. Nothing fancy, order food at the bar and they bring to the table. Most seats are on the boardwalk, so nice water view at picnic type tables. If you want a descent meal at a reasonable price (for OBX) this is a worthwhile stop! read more

I really wanted to like this place. The service was good and the place has a definite beach feel although very small inside with limited seating. There are some seats outside. I got the Baja Burrito with Mahi that was very good. Sadly the cheese dip smothering it tasted very processed like Tostitos dip. The nacho sampler was the same and disappointing. My son thought the jerk chicken quesadilla was very good. The best thing on the menu was the Southwest Egg-rolls. My family of 6 came here for my son's birthday. We ordered our drinks and then went to order our food. My daughter and I started to ask if we could split the nachos and have the stuff she doesn't like to one side of the plate. The waitress told us that the cook won't do that. We ended up deciding that this wasn't the place for us, paid $20 for our drinks and left. If we are going to pay that much for food, I expect a little better customer service. We stopped here out of a whim while driving through Corolla. This was our first time eating out since February due to the pandemic so we were super excited to eat out. We are outside since the inside was closed but they were able to distance us from other customers which we liked. The food was good! The tarter sauce really flavorful and I ordered the guacamole and a side of chips and that was great as well! The waitress was super nice as well. Over all we had a pretty pleasant experience. With that being said the only thing that knocked the stars down a bit was if you ordered soda, refills were not free. Which is no problem, however because we were not informed that they were not free was an issue. We would of never ordered the sodas. What a cool place!!!! Absolutely loved the Vibe. Found by accident but won't forget this place! Great way to end vacation with a great meal and very friendly staff ! They were packed, but told us to take a seat at the bar for our wait . We did and decided to have a drink. All day at the pool I was craving a Bloody Mary. They had a bloody Mason on the menu. And I would say it was a 5/5 ! Wow ! That good ! Way to go Tarynn. Time flew as the music played. Great throw back to pop classics. Loving it ! Had the nachos as appetizer. So fresh !
