Huge variety to choose from. Was a decent place for a bagel sandwich but they do have a solid wait time if there's a line. They have a lot of outdoor seating with shaded umbrellas. No indoor seating from what I saw.

Very fast and nice service! One worker told us that these recipes have been his grandmother's since they opened! The bagels are delicious and HUGE! Definitely grab some of the french toast bagels!

Delicious bagel sandwiches in the heart of Corolla. Friendly staff and quick process. Visiting during the off season was a great perk as well. Lots of bagel flavor options and each were well-made. The shop has good parking. Can't wait to go back!

Stopped into this place to grab a bite after morning walk. It was busy but service was quick. Bagel was done well and no skimping on the lox or cream cheese. Lots of outdoor seating. Lots of bagel and cream cheese varieties to choose from!

Bagels were amazing and their coffee cake was also a huge hit at our beach house rental.

Nice bagels. Lots of options. Nice outdoor seating. Only complaint is that it took forever...... not because the staff were slow but they were so busy!!! It was about a 20 min wait just to get to order and another 15 mins before we got our bagels. The Turkey Bang Bang was amazing

I'm a big fan of bagel and lox and this place had the best it was so good I was almost finished with it before I realized that I needed to take a picture of it. It was deliciously fresh with just the right amount of cream cheese and red onion and capers my mom also purchased an assortment of different bagels for the house she said that the service was friendly and quick although their online ordering was a bit confusing because you could not make any changes. My cousin was able to get the bagel she requested in accordance with her dietary needs though. Will definitely come back when I can!

If you want bagels that are lacking in seasoning, come here! See the attached pictures for what their "everything" bagel looks like. If anything it should be called a "somethings" bagel instead. This is the sad ghostly whisper of an everything bagel. I know this sounds dramatic but was greatly disappointed. Also, was super disappointed that we order bagels and cream cheese in addition to our sandwiches to go thinking we were going to eat them the next day and the cream cheese was smeared on the bagel not on the side so now we can't reheat them the next day. Line was out the door and took a good amount of time, but ambiance was nice. The filling of the sandwiches was nice but the bagel itself was a major major disappointment.

Stopped by lighthouse bagels with my friends and the bagels here are crazy good. We're from New Jersey so we know a good bagel when we see one and this bagel is BETTER than good. It's up there with New York and new Jersey bagels, I got the everything bagel with cream cheese and scallion cream cheese. It tasted amazing and the bagel was super high quality and tasted like some fine artisan bread. Best bagels in the outerbanks and I don't even have to try any other bagels to say that!

Awesome bagel place! We're from NJ and we're sooo excited for this bagel shop and we heard the recipe came from Jersey too! We got a bunch of bagels and they were all good! The french toast bagel was awesome. Would definitely recommend to anyone coming down here!

Ask the Community - Lighthouse Bagels & Deli

Why don't the workers here wear masks? We've visited on two trips to OBX and they require patrons to wear masks but not employees. Can someone please explain?

Yeah, that was very annoying. Even when there was a mask mandate - nope, no masks. Disappointing.

    Do workers wear masks?

    No!

    Do they have vegan options?

Not sure, just contact them directly and ask

Does this place have any gluten free options?

They make awesome gluten free breakfast sandwiches!

I had NY strip with broccolini and potatoes while my wife had the shrimp and grits and our 3 year old had butter pasta with Parmesan - all three were a hit. Came back Saturday with five friends on our last night in the Outer Banks and it turned into one of the most insulting meals I've ever paid for. The broken plate sent Three different waiters at different points. Nobody owned the table. Nobody knew what was happening. We ordered the jerk chicken. They called it a "whole chicken." It was a half chicken. Sixty dollars for half a chicken that arrived cold. The rice was raw--hard, crunchy, undercooked garbage. The beans? One bean. One. The rest of the plates were cold too. Everything. They said they'd take 20% off. They took five dollars. Then they made it worse: that "discount" came out of the waitress's tip. The restaurant didn't eat the cost. They penalized the only decent person there and kept the money themselves. The waitress took an $80 hit on a $400 bill. The manager stood there and lied about it. Straight-faced. A lying sack of crap who would rather steal from her own staff than admit they served cold, incomplete, overpriced food and then shorted the bill. I walked out. I should have done it sooner. No wonder the place was empty on a Saturday night in the Outer Banks. People already know. There are dozens of better restaurants here. Go to any of them. Do not give this place your money, your time, or your last night of vacation. They'll serve you cold half-portions, undercook the sides, then take it out of the waitress who actually tried. Stay away

As you walk in you note the feel of it being a converted diner made to look like a country place. You grab your own menu, seat yourself, and walk up to the bar/register when ready to order. If the first time, you need a minute to get your bearings. Food ordered (3% fee is not using the cash "discount" FYI, pretty common around here and absurd given these OBX prices). Drinks are self serve. Some coke products and excellent tea. This was the end of breakfast around 10:30/11, so it was empty. Service was pretty quick. (they bring it to the table). I thought the breakfast pricing was fair. Shrimp and grits for $12, etc. Especially for the portion sizes. Two things I didn't care for. -The ceilling tiles were crazy dirty and stained and the flor light bulbs were uncovered. -The shrimp and grits needs a re-do. It's huge, with a base of grits, ladels of bacon gravy, and about 5 shrimp and cheddar cheese. It's more like a shrimp, grits, gravy, cheese casserole. I would have much rather had a base of grits, the gravy scooped in the middle with shrimp stuck in it, and topped with cheese. Even with all that you'd think there would be flavor. It was kind of bland minus the occasionally greasy/burnt bacon piece. Also, the shrimp were flavorful but over-cooked and tail on, which is traditional--but in the casserole were a pain in the butt to get the tail off/cut. I know they can do good flavors and plates. My spouse's chicken biscut...omg the hand-breaded chicken was fantastic! My son's baked apples were to die for. You Philly visitors will be happy to see scrapples on the menu - yuck. All in, I would repeat and stick to chicken and the chicken coop.

I really enjoyed each of the dish and all the beers that are on a tap is the highlight of the restaurant. There are two long tables in the middle for larger groups. The crispy apple jack chicken has all the ingredients for a delicious sandwich. But I would replace the 3 chicken tenders for a large chunk of chicken breast. That would make the sandwich perfect. I don't necessarily blame the restaurant for that since people are constantly coming and going through both the front door and patio, but it did affect the experience. We didn't try the beer wall this time. We came primarily for the food, and I'm glad we did. We both ordered the Angry Chicken sandwich, and it was fantastic. It had great flavor, a good level of spice, and was absolutely massive. For $19, though, it better be big! Honestly, I almost wish they offered a smaller version with just one chicken patty at a lower price. The sandwich has so many great elements, but it's almost too much food. I'd happily order a smaller version. Our server was friendly, but he was clearly spread pretty thin. It took a while to get drink refills and our check. Overall, there were a few things that could have been better, but I'd definitely come back for that chicken sandwich.
