I booked an appt through ZocDoc for Dr John Nguyen, however was seen by another professional...I believe his name was Brandon. He was a very professional and nice professional, explained very thorough the digital photos of my eye and throughout the eye exams. He also recommended the brand id like to stay with and although I understand it's a business, I loved the recommended contact lenses - I was given about a week's worth of trial contacts (Acuvue Oasys Max). Shelly was the staff who assisted in ordering my contacts - she was so helpful and friendly. She even gave me recommendations of things to do in queens. Very friendly staff, and everything was easy. If I could give 0 stars I would. I stopped by in December to potentially use my vision benefits before they expired in January. I felt kind of pressured but I didn't have a ton of time to go to other places. I was told that my glasses would take at least 3-4 weeks because of the holidays, which was fine. I ended up having a personal issue and called the next day to cancel my order- which should have been easy because of the delay in processing orders. I left a message but walked by toward the end of the night and talked to an agent. He told me he would see what he could do and I would get a call back on the morning. I didn't get the call so I called back. Long story short, I've stopped in a half dozen times, always told that someone else had to handle it and they would call me the next day. It's been more than a month and no one has returned any of my messages or visits, even though they always tell me they'll call the next day. What a scam... they clearly tried to dodge me for long enough that it would be too late to cancel. The glasses they sell are 2-3x less expensive if you buy them online. Save yourself the trouble. I've never had an experience with any business like this... it's hard to even say I had an experience at all since they refuse to return my calls. Fine service by my optometrist. Shame that this eye glass store doesn't promote her name more. For goodness sake, the staff needs to refer to her by her name instead of as "The Optometrist". Anywho, this place gets 5 stars for the excellent service by her. She was patient and took delicate time to evaluate my annual checkup. She also answered all my questions and most importantly laughed at my jokes. Great bedside manner and not taking things too seriously goes a long way. Stopped into the Astoria location on a recommendation from my Aunt... We both agreed I was paying too much for my eye glasses. Right from the call into Alex who verified my insurance was accepted and could fill my prescription. After they ripped me off on my reading glasses for $550 with insurance and for a DKNY eye frame, I'm done. Never returning.

During my eye exam, the doctor quickly and casually slipped in the conversation that there was an extra exam that could be done, without presenting a document of the extra cost that would be incurred. When I say casually, I mean, he was speaking very quickly about everything and just rapid fire threw it into a sentence in a way that was meant to be deceiving (thinking back to it). I agreed to it, not knowing that I would be personally charged for the fee. This was purposefully done in a deceptive way to add more money in the store's bank. At the end of the day, what should have been a wellness visit seemed more like a transaction than anything else, left a bad taste in my mouth, and made me question the legitimacy of the care that was provided by this doctor. I am basing this review on my contact pre-appointment, not on an actual visit. I have never made it that far. Corona requires all prospective clients to complete an extensive demographic survey prior to arrival for examination. They inform you at the time you schedule the appointment that it will be sent in a timely manner. Come the day of my appointment the survey had still not arrived. I telephoned and was rescheduled to an appointment the following Monday a 12 PM. The survey was sent to me via text at 10:40 that morning, not leaving sufficient time to print and complete. It asked for information that should never be sent via text or email due to the susceptibility of Identity Theft. There are a plethora of vision centers in the Ditmars area. I found another that was far more organized in their scheduling and registration process and am thoroughly pleased with the care they provide. read more

I've been going to Corona Vision for three years. I'm moving to a new neighborhood and will no longer be in Astoria, but I'll def still be going here for eye exams/glasses. For City employees covered under Davis Vision - their selection of glasses covered by insurance is impressive. The doctor is sweet, professional and efficient. I wish I knew her name, but it's slipping my mind. I always get my glasses in less than two weeks time as well. Overall, highly recommend. read more

I selected Corona Vision because they were a "premiere member" on my insurance plan. I called and scheduled an appointment. I arrived 5 minutes before the appointed time and was seen immediately. The doctor was friendly and professional. The exam was thorough and I was impressed. I was then directed to a salesperson to select frames. The salesperson was Liana. She was professional, friendly and extremely helpful through the entire process. She helped me select frames and made sure that i maximized the benefits of my plan. I purchased two pairs of glasses. When I went to pick up the glasses I had order, she was equally as helpful. She remembered me by name, and help me to use the new glasses. (This was my first time wearing progressive lens.) Fool me twice! I'm so annoyed that I'm actively writing a review. Went there 6 months ago to get new lenses for my glasses. Exam was fine and the doctor was friendly. I paid for the lenses up front and was told it would take "up to" 2 weeks. My first thought was "wow that's a long time". I used to go to Odyssey a couple door down but was lured by the new space. Well it took 3 weeks for them to get me my glasses. 6 months later I tried them again and its been over 3 weeks now. This place is the pits. Going back to Odyssey, never took that long to get my glasses ever. read more

I just had my annual eye exam and was totally blown away..... literally the BEST eye exam I ever had over the past 20 years. This place is Brand New and the design is gorgeous, bright and super clean. They have State of the Art Eye Examination machines in private rooms. Easy to view showcases with vast selection of eyeware to suit everyone's needs, styles and price range. The women running this place are Professional, efficient, and very welcoming. This place is wonderful. The doctor is detail oriented as you'd want in an eye doctor and the staff is so nice! My insurance only covers vision prescriptions every two years but they got them to cover an exam and prescription early. They really care. I was previously going to Cohen's but they went by the book. There was no effort to work with the perimeters of my insurance. They are great but Corona Vision is so much better. This is our new go to place for vision related healthcare. read more
