We were also given complimentary slip mats for our vinyls and some unique collectible pins. Friendly staff, wide selection of vinyls, no insane price mark ups. This was a heck of a deal and a heck of an experience!

I thought that I should look around inside... Wow... It has everything... jazz, top 40, soul, hip hop, ethnic music, CDs, vinyl, movies, used, new, merchandise, and more! He sent a text message saying I now needed to pay the $500 plus a 3% business fee they "charge all customers". He said to pay or he would get another vendor as they're "completely sold out" and have vendors lined up for my spot. I said I didn't agree to the extra fee, to which he responded it's up to me but I already paid the $100 deposit. Of course there was no mention of anything being non refundable. Original photo of contract shows $100 deposit, with $500 owed at later date. Second photo shows where he wrote in pen to add the "3% bank fee". This guy and his business are shady and they refuse to refund my deposit. Believe the negative reviews, stay away from this shyster.

Came here with my cousin looking for some classicl vinyl from back in the day. This place is the…read moreepitome of cool. And while we didn't find the particular albums that we were looking for, we were blown away by the sheer ambiance and amount of product they do possess. Being a child of the 70's and '80s, we could have looked through their collection for four or five hours easy since I think those were the greatest decades of music with artist who not only achieved legendary status, but even one hit wonders that what have you going back into time. In fact, we were joking with the staff that we easily could have opened and closed the place down by doing an entire day shift right alongside them! The place really blows you away from a 5 senses standpoint as well. The sights, sounds, and smells all hit you at once-and in here and on this occasion, that was a great thing. If you follow a little hallway it leads you into a completely different section into what seems like a another small universe or at least galaxy. Once on the other side of this hallway which leads you to another portion of the building entirely, your met with even more records and additional musical and odd treasures. To top it off, a bar with alcohol awaits you! Lol You can't make this place up! Bottom line here folks is this is a really cool, cool place-especially for those who love classic music, a good beer, and the idea of hunting for what you want. I'd highly recommend this place....just be prepared to put in some serious time for research and for your senses to be able to take it all in.

We were wrong! We started to chat with the nice folks working behind the counter and they told us that it is a coincidence. This store has nothing to do with the movie. But they do want to continue the name, legacy of the original Licorice Pizza store. Till the settle they rights, this store is called Licorice Pizza Records at Hear We Are. We are happy to have a new record store in the Valley after many cool ones closed and it was painful to witness. They sell a bit of everything: vinyl, books, t-shirts, merchandise that could make a great gift or souvenir. They also have a pin ball machine if you want to play and try it! My husband found a cool coollection of Chandler's work so he was happy to add a new book to our collection (we are addicted to books and proud of it!). Fun store to explore and shop at right next to Art's deli. Parking? Street parking, some lots around as well. If you're local, you'll manage. Great addition to Ventura Blvd. and to the Valley. Nice to see a new indie record store around!

Nothing here is authentic to a real Licorice Pizza. I mean what record store neglects so many genres?
