It's an ok store to shop hmbut do yourself a favor and don't bother trying to sell them your vinyl or cd- take the time if you have it to sell it yourself on eBay or FB marketplace! They will tell you your items are not desirable and maybe they will resold for a buck but yet when you go back you can see your items being sold at $24.99 - I get it they need to make money but the money they offer you is an insult -I took my batch and left - the offered me 55 bucks for my entire box - later I sold just one CD from the box online for 50! read more

This place is a gem! It has a great selection of music, dvds, and blu rays. The back wall is alphabetical organized with dvds. Center section has an array of blu rays. Non sticker items are $2 and stickers were 50% off. Don't know if that is their on going pricing or limited promo. Scored a very nice selection of new Disney movies. Staff is friendly and appear to enjoy what they are doing which is great to see. Will be back to check them out again and support a local business. There is street parking and at the end of the block a parking lot that appeared to be free. read more

I started shopping at this store in 2000. Definitely a GREAT in-person record store (where you can check conditions in person), but I would avoid their eBay auctions (unless the record is sealed). Steve at Atomic sold me a Fugazi record that was listed as "near mint," but was VG at best. Surface wear on album and ring wear on album cover. The guys at Freakbeat Records (Sherman Oaks) jump through hoops when they incorrectly grade a record, but Steve was reluctant to do anything when I spoke to him on the phone. Not sure if he was just distracted while grading, but a monkey could have done a better grading job than Steve did on this one. Methinks Steve might be suffering from a "holier than thou" attitude. He even mentioned while I was speaking with him that he was dealing with another person trying to return a record? Not a great sign. Again, in person shopping? Go for it. Avoid their eBay listings. My feedback is flawless and I'm not a scammer. Rick, take heed and keep your eye on Steve. I won't be coming back. read more

They have a good selection of mostly used vinyl. The prices are good for the used items. They also carry a lot of dvds and Blu rays. My only issue was the lack of organization in the store. The aisles are already very narrow, but to have piles of stuff and boxes all over the floors makes it really difficult to get around. Somebody had knocked over a box of things while I was in there. It's just very disorganized and cluttered. Other than that, you can find a lot of used and old records. read more

If you are looking for hard to find vinyls, then this is the place! I couldn't believe my eyes when I walked in that they had an entire wall dedicated to hard to find pressings. Prices are marked reasonably considering the quality. The rest of the store was well organized and had a great selection of items to dig through. By the looks of the boxes at the front counter, new inventory comes in daily. This has been one of the best vinyl stores I've been to in this area. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. I left with so much good stuff and it is now on my list to visit anytime I'm in the area. read more

Love this store. Came in on a whim a few weeks ago looking for movies. They have a bunch. Some are unopened and new. They have really reasonable prices. Owners were fun to talk to. They were really nice one day and because I bought so much stuff they kept the store open for an extra twenty minutes. It looked their music selections where huge. The have CD's, cassettes tapes, vinyl, vhs tapes, DVD's, Blu-ray's, and some 4Ks. Average price for dvds was between $3to $10, Blu-rays $4 to $12, 4ks were up to $12 for unopened. read more

Don't waste your time bringing your used CDs in. The gentleman I spoke to over the phone was very polite and said to bring what I had in. I brought in a lot of soundtracks, jazz and popular artists for review. Everything was used but in good condition: The cases were in good condition, the CDs not scratched. I was sure to check before. The owner came out to look through everything and acted almost offended as he was going through everything and proceeded to make a lowball offer, almost 0.20 cents a CD like he was doing me a great favor. Just a real sour puss. The only other time I went by there prior was 30 minutes before closing, and they were basically telling us to get out that they were closing soon. Like they didn't want our business. Quite honestly this interaction was off-putting enough that I have no interest in going back. Take your business elsewhere! read more

A mixed bag. Decent prices, but be prepared to hunt for it. Selection is okay but you won't find any hidden gems. The place is a bit of a mess and the cashier (owner?) seemed in a bad mood or just gruff, but if you want some vinyl, DVDs or CDs, you might be able to waste some time and find something worth buying. The vibes @ Atomic Records cannot be beat. The staff is knowledgeable and super helpful. I came into this store to sell my very eclectic vinyl collection because I am moving out of the country and cannot take them with me. It's emotionally very difficult for me, but Rick was so chill and patient, and made the entire process fun and relaxing. His music knowledge was incredible, and I love just watching him handle the records - I know that even if I have to part with them, my vinyl is in good hands. I also got a fantastic price of my record collection, and I was completely thrilled. I also wanted to say that I was initially tempted to sell my record collection to a different vendor, but changed my mind after being treated very rudely. I brought in about 60 dvds and blurays and all were in excellent shape. They gave $80 and that's ok. They didnt take about 25 of the dvds but said I could donate them. I took them to Amoeba records in Hollywood with no traffic is about 15 minutes away. Amoeba gave me $30 for the dvds Atomic wanted me to donate. Hadn't shopped here in years and now everytime I am LA I will visit. Used records are almost all spotless and only the heaviest discounted ones have some marks. Pricing is more than fair. Place is stacked overflowing with records. It would take a 1/2 day to go through collection on floor for sale. My only gripe (which I told the employee is way way too many boxes on the floor). I can drop $200 - $10,000 in a store at anytime depending on their prices and stock. I did a bit over $500. The store employee was super helpful to help me out. The owner I think name is Steven was very friendly and gifted me a signed Gordon Lightfoot record. While shopping there I met a older crowd and I could tell some people just needed someone to talk with like a nice woman who lost her husband and we struck up a conversation on her fave musician John Denver (note: only John Denver convo I ever had in a record store). Enjoyed my time with her. I had two problems with used records though not the store fault at all. Contacted the owner and he said bring it back next time I stop in. Great guy. The Golden God meets the Vinyl God of Atomic Records in Burbank CA! AWSOME! Browsing through endless vinyl the owner Steve who appears to be very much aware of his clientele, but I think he couldn't figure us out so he asked a few times if we are looking for anything in particular if he could help. It wasn't until I paid for my LPs that he shared with me two pictures of when Robert Plant came into the store. He even let me take a picture of his picture on his cellphone! The story behind the photos is Steve's to tell. But yes Robert Plant in a face mask too! Yes face masks are required he is very strict on this. The inventory is amazing I picked up 5 LPs and a CD. There is apparently a "back room" of blues vinyl, I only had an hour to spend inside I will be back soon with no time restrictions. read more

i enjoyed discussing this, that, and the other with rick and andrew so much that it was difficult to leave (had to pick someone up at the airport). funky, comfortable, pretty well organized, and over the approximate hour that i was there (selling my dvds - very fair prices), they made everyone who came into the shop feel welcome and at ease. need to go back when i have time to leisurely explore. they also have some FANTASTIC lps that are oop, if you saved that turntable. highly recommend them for so many reasons! thank you. read more

Lots of hidden treasures you can find here if, you have the patience to search through the boxes upon boxes in this tightly-packed space. I mean, very few people knew Michael Bolton began as part of a hard rock band called Blackjack (whom btw opened for Ozzy Osbourne on tour) before he went in to whatever you call elevator/easy-listening music. His first album was a self-titled album using his original family name, Michael Bolotin. Why the history lesson on Michael Bolton you ask? Well, I found this treasure of an album at Atomic for $5.99! But alas, I did not leave with it since my fiance gave me a very sad, disappointing look when I said I wanted to add this to his (my soon-to-be inherited) record collection. I'm not saying this is a great album by any means - in fact, the music is complete crap but, what a conversation starter this would have been! Anyways, if you want to find hidden treasures such as a Michael Bolotin album or, a horrifically German bootlegged John Lennon album that has been repressed multiple times, Atomic Records is the place to visit. read more

Great, Great, Great. A true crate divers paradise! You gotta dig through the boxes at the front of the store. Then to the 99 cent area (probably a thousand discs. Row after row found some blues greats, compilations, some awesome Chick Corea, John Cougar Mellencamp, found some Elvis, String Cheese Incident, a Grateful Dead common, and a newer Styx album I wasn't aware of - all for 99 cents. Found a great J. Geils double greatest hits ($10) and some live music DVDs (Robin Ford, John Mayall, and Stevie Ray Vaughan ($5/6). Overall a great second visit - will be back for more. They are replacing Rockaway Records on my must go list. Rockaway let Covid ruin them. A real shame - they are now a value less store only opening by special appointment and only selling used CDs above $9. No bargain bin, no crate or under shelves diving anymore. This place always has a good selection of records, but the prices are higher than most other record stores. The size of the store is small and the aisles are even smaller thanks to stacks of boxes sitting there with records, CDs and DVDs inside them. The new arrivals are placed in a tiny corner in the back of the store and there is nothing indicating its existence other than you figuring this out on your own. The "good stuff" on the wall is massively overpriced, but at least it's interesting to look at. The people who work there are socially awkward and unpleasant unless you are a regular or have some sort of notoriety. All in all, I like how fully stocked the records are and like finding records here, but the store has a subculture that reminds me of the employees in the movie "High Fidelity." This is one of those stores that won't help you understand it because you should already understand it somehow. read more

Here's a tiny shop featuring used records, 8 tracks, CD's, DVD's, and Blu-Rays. It's packed with people flipping through the records with hopes of coming across a find. As I have written, it is a tiny shop, so don't expect it to be easy to walk through. There's a $1 CD section where my friend claims he always finds something. I wish they had new records, because I would prefer to buy records that I know for sure don't have scratches. I ended up buying a couple of CD's that looked new. A lot of people complain about the customer service, but I thought it was okay. I didn't get a smile, but I did get asked if everything was okay, or some question of the sort. I'm giving Atomic a 4 stars. It has a certain flavor that's special. read more

To be clear, I had a grand total of thirty minutes at this shop. As a result I had no time to do anything other than look through the labeled bin dividers. Had I had the time to look through the alphabetical "misc" sections ", I have little doubt I would have come away with a few gems. As it is, I walked out with 3 LPs and a CD box collection for less than $50. This store is packed with vinyl (all genres), CDs, DVDs and related ephemera--chock full. This is a classic independent record store. The prices are very reasonable and the staff (probably the owner) was helpful.
