Called employee (Victoria) and arranged a month stay. Stayed one night and Victoria called us the next morning to tell us that some missing travelers were enroute and that she was giving our spot to them. Apparently they were overdue 5 days and they had "phone trouble" which of course sounded like bs to us. We travel a lot and always call places when overdue so we knew this explanation was garbage. Surfside is a very small park. Our trailer at 35 feet is hard to turn and position. This park squeezes people in so tightly, you must ask other travelers to move their vehicles. I could not park my truck near the trailer- there is simply no room. On the upside, the park is very clean and friendly. It is within walking distance to the beach. We were charged 52 bucks for one night- Victoria gave us a "free night" after telling us we had to leave which gave us a chance to find a new spot. If you have a smaller rig, this place might work. There are plenty of rv parks nearby which have more room and cable that works. It pays to shop around Port A a little. read more

I love this place! When's making reservations you'll talk to Victoria, one if the owners, who is one of the most friendly people I've ever dealt with on the phone (and in person once you get here!). (I hear that these owners took it over just a few months ago. I don't know about the old owners, but these are great.) The grounds and facilities are well maintained and modern. The doggie walk area was free of burrs (nice and grassy). What should have been the grassy area outside our door was largely reduced to sand. Hopefully they will fix that. One of the great things about this park is that it's small...only 45 sites, so you don't feel like you're lost in a sea of anonymity. We looked at those parks that are right on the beach but realized that we usually wanted to drive our gear to the beach (instead of hauling it over a boardwalk) and once you do that, the short 3-block drive is no different than a 1000 foot drive (and at some of those places, you'd have to drive a lot farther). We also didn't need the attitude at some of those places. We were here in a 39 foot fifth-wheel with 4 slides and had no problems getting in or out. We did not use the on-site showers or restrooms but my one visit found them clean and well kept. My wife made several visits to the pool and liked it a lot. read more

Chill little spot real close to beach!! the only issue I had was my cable not working like it should've but the internet worked thank goodness . Honestly it could've been my trailer giving the issue but I overall enjoyed my overnight stay. The grounds are kept up clean and restrooms are clean and big for whole family use. The checking in process was cake even after hours we had no problems. And it was Christmas.. We will be back again for more than an overnight stay. read more

Let me start by saying we are new to RVing. We don't have a lot to compare this place to, but wanted to give my opinion so I can help other families make a decision. I chose Surfside because it was close to condos that some friends were staying at and because it's a smaller park. The pool was also a reason, since we have two young kids and I figured we'd want a break from the salt water. I liked that is was away from the beach so we wouldn't have to deal with too much sand (hahahaha, don't know who I was trying to fool with that thought !). The spaces are really small. Even smaller than I had prepared myself for after looking at photos. We brought a little camper (23 ft) and our space still seemed extremely tight. I was ok with it until a bigger RV pulled in next to us and took over half of the tiny patch of grass in front of our door. Our awning couldn't even extend all the way after that. Not the neighbor's fault, just an unfortunate space issue. You aren't able to choose your spot, so don't bother looking at the map and trying to get one that has a few more inches of grass. Not gonna happen ! The RV Park is surrounded by condos and has very little trees or scenery around it. Kinda dulled the beach vibe while we were at our camper. The bathhouse is really nice and super clean. If I was rating the bathrooms alone they'd get 5 stars. The pool was ok. Small and can get crowded, but comfy chairs and some shade. Our kids liked it a lot. The park was really quiet at night which was also a big plus. Didn't hear anyone between 10pm-8am for the 3 nights we were there. Since it has fewer spots than most RV parks in the area, kids are able to safely ride their bikes and scooters around without getting lost. You can literally watch them ride around the entire place. read more

What a find! A precious little gem! We had a family reunion in the area & so we decided to make a full vacation out of it! We were not able to take our own RV this time, so we had been searching for rentals and came across Surfside. They have the perfect RV to rent ! It felt like "home". Victoria & Jim are the friendliest, most hospitable, and helpful hosts. This is a beautiful well-kept park. The pool and hot tub are very clean. If you are going to be in the area... I highly recommend staying here... it is in a good location close enough to the beach and all the shopping and places to eat, too. read more

My husband and I stayed here and we enjoyed it very much! Victoria the owner is so nice and they kept the place extremely clean! Bathhouse smelled so good and was kept super clean. Everyone there were really nice and respectful! I was disappointed the hot tub wasn't warm but loved the pool! Would be nice to see a small picnic table at each site. I am going to start by saying this- After going back and reading other negative reviews, The owner, Victoria always starts her reply with-"I don't usually write retorts but...". Interesting, let's see what she says this time. Let me start by saying- the place is well maintained, though spaces tight. Bathrooms very nice. Unfortunately, she is rude and offered poor customer service. Victoria knew this was our first time RVing and we had a rental. Two Problems- She changed our site (we had a confirmation in writing) without telling us. We arrived 45 minutes after closing. 6:45 pm. She. had informed us to pick up an envelope with RV rules. Which we did after setting up. She never said that spot was changed, nor did we know what that number on front meant. Plus she originally told us that it was a pull through (we were renting a 32 foot RV.) but she added, "Though it doesn't look like it on the map.) it wasn't. The next day, she called us at 2pm, and we rushed back. Got there in 20 minutes. I figure she had double booked since I had confirmation. She told me that we had to move, the sites were not guaranteed. And if we didn't move we could leave. Adding that she was sure there wasn't a spot open within 20 miles." So we moved. My husband felt that it was a matter of poor park management because it was 2pm. They should have checked the park to see that there were no squatters and to make sure everyone was in the correct place. I checked my phone and that was my only call. Ironically, that couple left the next day. We had gotten to know the 'neighbors', even went out for a beer that week and they told us their AC needed recharging, and repairman coming in morning. But wife decided she didn't like place so they went elsewhere. read more

It's our first time at this park and we love, love, love it. We stayed all winter and already made reservations for next year. Yes, you need to make reservations to be sure to get a site. This park is very popular. The owners, Brandon and Victoria, are great people, very nice and friendly. They take great care of the park and have excellent customer service skills. The winter Texans are also nice and friendly. With this park being so small, we didn't see the "clicks" you see in the other larger parks. In their beautiful rec hall, they have game nights, bingo, potlucks, breakfasts, brunch, dinners, arts and crafts, happy hour socializing, as well as shopping trips for the ladies, fishing trips for the fishermen, or just relax and enjoy not having to shovel snow. The sites are level cement slabs with grass. They are working on the weeds! It's close to town and the beach. They have free cable, but you pay for Wi-Fi if you need it. There is a beautiful pool and hot tub, showers and laundry. Each site has a picnic table. If your unit isn't too long on the site, there is room to park. If not, they had plenty of parking all winter close to all sites in the park. We had plenty of room for our golf cart on our site. There is an additional charge for a second vehicle or golf cart, anything more than your towing vehicle. They accept pets. We love it here and don't ever plan to go back to the park we stayed at the first winter in Port Aransas. This park is so much more superior then that one. With good owners comes good people. read more

Horrible customer service!!! My family and I stayed here over the weekend and I can say one thing, we will not be returning. The caretaker/maintenance man was rude from the day we arrived. He even made it a point to turn off the hot tub while my family and I were in it, just to scold us like children because our dogs were barking at our camp and we were unaware. It was a misunderstanding that the dogs were left unattended, and I understand that is against the rules, again it was unintentional. I should also mention that other people had their dogs running around the place with no leash, and to no consequence. Had he handled the situation in a more professional manner instead of yelling at us for a mistake that was easy to fix then we'd have no problem. No point in taking my business here again if they don't treat you with common decency, I'll take my business elsewhere for a better experience. read more

We've come here for a few years now (2018 & 2019 and now 2021) and have always enjoyed our stay, never had an issue with the owner. However, this most recent experience has left us with a sour taste. My husband and I and another couple rented the condo upstairs and had the owners, Victoria and Thomas berate us almost every evening. She even had the nerve to accuse us of hosting more than the allowed number of guests at the condo (which was inaccurate). We had referred other friends to stay at the park in their RVs and it seemed that each time we tried to gather together to enjoy each others company we were scolded by them for being "too loud", having greater than 4 people on the condo balcony, and were told to "take it inside" after 10pm. Keep in mind we understand receiving a warning or kindly being asked to keep it down. This happened both Friday and Saturday night and Thomas was especially rude and unprofessional, even threatened to kick us out. A piece of advice I would like to leave them for general customer service would be to approach your customers with positive intent and don't assume the worst of people. We paid money to enjoy our vacation with family and friends and have a good and safe time. Instead, we felt we had a target on our backs the entire stay. Would not recommend staying here if you like to hang out past 10pm on a weekend. Me, nor my family and friends have the desire to return. read more

Worst RV park we have stayed at. Spots are very tight. We found the owners to be rude and randomly add charges throughout your stay. They did not communicate charges up front. The grass is beautiful, however we told more then once while moving the rv not to drive on grass, which is IMPOSSIBLE with how tight the spots are. They mowed the grass and flung clippings all over our belongings, spent a good amount of time cleaning our stuff off. Would not recommend or return. There are other parks in the area, cheaper and excellent customer service. read more

The place was clean. Very tight space and your neighbor on neighbor. You can hear everything your neighbor is talking about hen they are outside. If your neighbor has kids you have to hear them yelling at all times of the night. I have kids,but mine are inside by 9pm. I had to get up at midnight to yell at my neighbors kids to go inside. About 3am kids were hanging out and running around throughout the park. It's not a 5 minute walk to the beach unless you are a speed walker. Not worth $47 a night. I had more peace and quiet at the Nueces County park right on the beach...for half the price. read more

The park itself is very nice, clean and well equipped with pool and shower rooms. We checked in after staying on the beach, but the tides were coming too high, so we moved to Surfside. Upon arrival, Victoria was very helpful and we couldn't decide if we'd need 2 nights stay or just one. We paid for the two nights as Victoria told us to let her know what we decided. Around 10 the next morning, we saw the weather forecast and decided to head home. When we asked about a refund for the 2nd night and we were told "we don't give refunds". We stated she had told us to let her know what we decided and she said "that was before you paid". We feel misled and quite frankly ripped off. Which is sad, because we had planned to book next year's reservation here after seeing how nice the park was and how helpful Victoria had been. But now, we will never book here again. And I will make sure to tell my fellow event attendees, and anyone else who asks, to avoid Surfside as well. After all the add-on fees, like extra people, extra cars, etc..2 nights came out to about $160, $80 of which was not "earned" by the park. Bad business makes for non-repeat customers... read more

Rarely am I as sold on a place as I am this WONDERFUL getaway. But, DO NOT stay here unless you want the quietest RV park in Port Aransas...the most friendly owners in Port Aransas (and beyond)...the cleanest RV park in Port Aransas...and the the nicest neighbors in Port Aransas. We've been going to Port Aransas since 2006 and have stayed in a number of different RV parks, but we have found "home away from home" at the Surfside RV & Resort. SImply put - it can't be beat for price, for friendliness, for cleanliness, for courteous neighbors and for the best owners you can imagine. My only hesitation is making such a strong recommendation is the fear that next time I want to stay...it'll be full and I can't get reservations. You can't go wrong - we love our twice-a-year getaways to Surfside. read more

My family has stayed here 2 years in a row. The owners are a accommodating and have great communication. Park is clean and quiet. Spots are tight, but Victoria put us in an end spot since our 5th wheel is large. The park is well worth the extra money to be in town, close to beach and shopping, yet quiet and cozy. Very nice RV park! It is a smaller park, which is nice because it has a homier feel. The restroom/laundry and pool are a short distance from anywhere in the park. The owner, Victoria, is super sweet!!! She let us borrow some cable wire and she was so friendly and helpful!! Will definitely stay here again, had a great Labor Day weekend here. I just ended a two-month stay at Surfside RV Park and Resort. The park is located within walking distance to the beach and other local attractions .Throughout my stay, the owners, Victoria and Brandon, were so friendly and very professional--always willing to help in anyway needed; whether help with moving in, with hooking up to amenities, or help finding information out about the island or local attractions. The rv park is kept in immaculate condition; all the RV sites are clean, well kept, and ready for move-in. The community room is a great place to go hang out, watch movies, or meet other campers and make new friends! The showers and restrooms are kept very clean, and personal keys that lock are handed out to each adult resident for your safety and security. The pool and hot tub are kept very clean and are very inviting! All information and expectations are displayed in a very nice brochure which is very easy to read and understand. The only problem I experienced while at the rv park was with another resident this past weekend who allowed her minor unlicensed child and minor friends to drive the family's golf cart throughout the park, weaving in and out of vacant RV sites, attempting to drive off-road behind rv sites occupied which was dangerous for those in the golf cart as well as other adult residents, other children and pets. However when I brought this to management's attention, the problem was handled in a very timely and professional manner. I will definitely be back soon for another awesome stay! read more

We stayed for two months in Nov. - Dec. 2015 and had the best time ever. Friendly, helpful owners who gave fun parties in the rec room, property very well maintained, nice pool and hot tub, laundry machines, fish cleaning station, cable tv, good wi-fi available for $20/mon., close to the beach and restaurants. We had a blast and met wonderful friends who we plan to meet there again over the years. Highest recommendation! read more

We stayed here 4th of July 2015, made reservations for July 2016 as we left. July 2016, I called to confirm and they had no record of our reservations, so we made reservations for July, 2017. We can't go this year so I emailed to cancel in time for them to relet the space, and again, no record of our reservation. The owner called and kept overtalking me, refusing to listen to the history of events and the apparent intent of her call was to rudely invite us to seek future accommodations elsewhere. We've been blackballed! Apparently they have all the business they'll ever need. I was all but called a liar. Why would anyone invent a reservation they wanted to cancel? read more

We've stayed at this RV park several times..... The RV park is clean. The only downfall is that the sites are extremely tight. There is not much space between RV's. The back in spots are had to get into. The park is only a walking distance to the beach and it is close to restaurants and shops. The sites are reasonably priced! read more
