I like that they're attentive to the kids, teach them to be disciplined, and teach them other important values. They don't play with nonsense, but will be patient with kids that aren't listening and talk to them in a caring but firm manner. I love the way they put on belt testing for the kids. It was such a cool thing to see. My kids love it and I love seeing my kids learning something that they enjoy with instructors that have a true passion for what they teach.

As a child on the spectrum, we have seen huge improvements in his joint attention, discipline, turn taking, and learning routines. There are kids in his class who have been attending longer and are great role models during class. I love that Master Garmany sets clear rules for how to behave in class. He has had my son sit out when he's misbehaving and it's been really good for him to have a direct consequence. He really doesn't want to have to sit out and understands that there is a certain way he needs to behave to participate. Stamps during class for good behavior and stickers at the end are the biggest deal to my son, it's really adorable. Master Garmany really has thought about everything when putting this business together. I love that the Little Dragon's class is so child friendly. Watching little films before class starts, listening to CoComelon during musical chairs, imaginative play during warm up and stretch time. It's really sweet. Now, here's where it gets even more exciting. There is a room full of toys and imaginative play that the little ones can go in, or their siblings. Great amount of seating area to watch your kids. My first impression with this place wasn't the greatest. The first time I took my 4 year old son the instructor was late and didn't check us in or explain much or how their program worked. However, the instructor was great with the class. He was fun as engaging and really got the kids going. At the end of the class one of the younger instructors was there and I mentioned it was my first sons first time. He helped get us registered and went over the check in process. At the end a lady finished getting us setup and gave us the T-shirt that came with the Groupon. This put some ease into my first impression. Throughout the next few weeks my son went 2x a week and a few of those times the instructor was late and one time there was no class because the instructor was sick but we weren't even informed. No email or anything. With that said I will say my son enjoyed it and it appeared all of the kids enjoyed it as well. I will say that I am disappointed that I wasn't able to use the last few classes that came with the Groupon. I was told it expired and that I would need to register for their regular fees. No where on the Groupon website or fine print does it say there is a time frame in which the classes had to be done it just said 16 and that you couldn't have us a Groupon in the last 12 months. There was a push even at the beginning to go with their promo as opposed to the Groupon but I wasn't in a rush since I wanted to check it out first. This experience had some bumps. If you buy a Groupon get clarification because there is no indication of a timeframe. Although we've had some up and down experiences I can see where this would be great for kids. Also looks like they'll be moving to a bigger location which should be good since they have quite a bit of students.

When I finally decided to give OMA a try, I spoke with Jazmin, who has been kind and welcoming from the beginning. Her kindness helped ease so much of my anxiety and made the sign up process easy.Coach Chris also made a great first impression. He allowed me to attend a free jiu jitsu class, and I really enjoyed seeing his dynamic with the students. He explained the techniques in a way that were easy to understand, answered all of my questions, and took the time to explain the different programs they offer so I could find the right fit for me. He also let me try a boxing class, which was a great opportunity to experience more of what OMA has to offer. I decided to sign up for the five week jiu jitsu course, and I honestly can't recommend it enough! I worked with Coach Brandon, who is patient, knowledgeable, and easygoing. I really appreciate the level of detail he puts into teaching. He would demonstrate the techniques multiple times and make sure everyone felt comfortable and confident before we gave them a try. He was also incredibly patient whenever I needed extra help, which, let's be honest, was often. One thing I really appreciated was the way Coach Brandon corrected me when I wasn't doing something right. He would explain the proper technique, why it was important, the advantages of doing it correctly, and the disadvantages of the way I was doing it. That made everything much easier to understand and remember. As someone who was already nervous about trying something completely outside of my comfort zone, having a coach who is patient, encouraging, and willing to meet me where I was made a huge difference.
