I personally have never been into martial arts. I've always heard positive things from parents that have their kids in taekwondo. I had checked out Robinsons in Lodi before, but I wasn't a huge fan. However, Cutting Edge has been something totally different. I really see the passion these instructors have for what they teach. I like that they're attentive to the kids, teach them to be disciplined, and teach them other important values. They don't play with nonsense, but will be patient with kids that aren't listening and talk to them in a caring but firm manner. I love the way they put on belt testing for the kids. It was such a cool thing to see. My kids love it and I love seeing my kids learning something that they enjoy with instructors that have a true passion for what they teach. read more

I love this place! My daughter just started with Mr. Lo's martial arts studio and she is enjoying this as much as I do. Both Mr. Lo and Mr. Marco are very patient and kind to the kids, they know each kid's name. They also take the time to make sure that the kids are doing well off and on the mat. My kids have been going to Cuttimg Edge for years. In all the time they have gone to Cutting Edge I have always been pleased with the school and especially Master John Lo. Not only do good students attend this fantastic school but so do his own children. Master Lo cares deeply about his students on and off the mat in every aspect. Mr. Marco & Mr. Lo are amazing. I highly recommend Cutting Edge! They put focus on the physical aspect & technique, but also take time each lesson to sit down & review different topics such as integrity, bullying, compassion, etc. I originally enrolled my son due to his short attention span & impulse control. When he is in class he is 100% focused, and since he has so much respect for Mr. Marco he doesn't want to disappoint out of class either. My son started taekwondo at Cutting Edge Martial Arts in June of 2011 and it is one of the best things we could have done for him. Not only does it keep him active but they teach self discipline, manners, respect, life skills, and safety along with their taekwondo skills. Watching my son gain confidence and people skills over the past six months has been so amazing. Mr. Lo and the other instructors are great with the kids. Marco McAlpin teaches the younger students and has definitely found his calling. They offer many class times and are very flexible in that you can choose what days are best for you each week. Ex: If one week u go Monday and Wednesday but the next week Tuesday and Fridays are better for your schedule you can go those days. My kids have been attending cutting edge for almost 2 years now. They love it and so do we. The teacher is great and its just a friendly atmosphere!
