I just worked with the folks from Corrigan on an interstate move, and found them to be efficient, professional, and friendly throughout the process. From my conversations with Maribeth in the office, through the on-site walk-through of my home with Brian, and the move itself with driver Brad, they were both well organized and considerate. For instance, in addition to explaining the companies practices and policies in detail, Brian was able to provide me with an inventory and bound estimate for my move which was emailed to me before he left my house after the walk-through! Both he and Joanne in the office were responsive to email and phone calls before the actual move date answering questions about logistics and packing. I was able to pay by credit card and review/approve all documents online in advance of the move. Joanne also personally called me multiple times throughout the move, pickup, and delivery to confirm that things were moving along smoothly. Driver Brad and his crew arrived on time, worked quickly, and efficiently on both ends of the job. They were friendly and considerate of both my home and my family, which is a valuable asset during a stressful move. Having worked with other moving companies in the past, it was clear that Corrigan practices great communication between their customers and staff. Their appraiser Rob claimed that large furniture would be wrapped at their warehouse so all my large things like dining table, sofa, bed etc... taken directly to the truck unwrapped. That was a lie. When receiving my container most of my furniture was damaged and not wrapped. My couch cushions were just thrown on top of a pile and terribly stained. 80% of my wood and metal furniture had damage after my long distance move. Even a cherry table which I listed as a high value item. Had a major gouge on one of the leaf extensions and three of my chairs were stained and scratched. I would say that if you value your furniture and don't want to deal with insurance claims. Stay away from this company. read more

You get a great deal with this moving company. However, be prepared by knowing your rights and asserting your authority. I could tell that the moving crew dismissed me right away because I am a young WOMAN. All of my dealings with the company over the phone and via email were superb regarding my move from Connecticut to New York. Tanny was quick to communicate and listen to my concerns. However, I was very displeased by the moving crew headed up by Paulo from the New Haven area. I disclosed all of this to the company (they were sorry), so this review should not be a surprise. 1. Paulo was unwilling to complete an inventory until I threatened to call the office. 2. Paulo was unwilling to give me a copy of the inventory pre-trip until I threatened to cal the office. He said it was not customary. 3. Paulo was unwilling to let me check off my numbered boxes at arrival until I showed him in the papers that it was my right to do so. 4. At the arrival point, he asked to see my copy of the inventory form. He wouldn't say it but he had failed to take a complete inventory and was actually adding boxes as they arrived and then lied about it. 5. He damaged my bed frame, shelf, and TV. When I commented, about the shelf he said it was just some paint that had rubbed off on it. He proceeded to scrape more of the coating off trying to prove it was just some paint. 6. A lot of my large goods (lamps, shelves) were not wrapped and were free to move around the truck. 7. He was upset that I lived on the second floor of a house. When moving my boxes out, they were practically thrown down the stairs. 8. They wrapped up my plants and cleaning chemicals and placed them in a box in the truck even though I said not wrap them and the moving company said not to move cleaning supplies. read more

I cannot go any lower than a 1 star review. I never experienced such terrible service till I used this company. Not only did they damage so many things, they packed a dirty plunger with my clothing, a kitty box with my clothing, which was not supposed to be packed. (My fault for not micro managing uneducated workers)They claimed my sons train table was falling apart, it was a month old from toys r us, they damaged it... there are things missing, clothing taking out of totes that was packed just fine and moved in with old collectibles. I would not recommend this company, they were in too much of a hurry, and didnt pack as if it was their own property. If you are looking for a moving company, do not use these guys! They will talk a good talk and when you get to your destination, you will be as upset as we were. read more

Unfortunately, our experience with Corrigan was bad. Their service was highly recommended to us - and we signed a contract with them for our move from Fairport to Pittsford this summer without any hesitation. They gave an estimate for 9 hours of work - no problems or questions from our side. On the moving day, they were prompt and started moving our stuff very quickly. While unloading the stuff at our new home, it was very obvious they were in a big hurry - later learned that the lead mover guy needed to be somewhere within an hour or so, hence the hurry. They were in such a hurry that they were throwing our boxes - one guy was at the top of the stairs and another was at the bottom of the stairs in the basement and our boxes were moved to the basement by the men simply tossing the boxes from the top of the stairs. They broke a couple of pieces of our furniture; put a whole in a wall; and the truck put massive ruts on the lawn. Making claims against the damages were not easy. They fixed the wall after a couple of months; paid $100 for the ruts on the grass; but the furnitures were never fixed. They sent someone to fix the furnitures a couple of times (not competent at all). Eventually they sent a nice letter saying that they were done processing our claim and that there was nothing else that they could do. This is an excerpt from their letter: "I noted that you did not make any exception for lost or damaged goods at the time of delivery. Your signature on the inventory forms and Bill of Lading indicate receipt of all items in good condition." That's simply terrible! The moving guys are in a hurry to leave as soon as the last box is out of the truck and they want me to sign the forms before they leave. But Corrigan wants me to go through all of the boxes and check all of our furniture before signing the forms? That's unreasonable - and undermines greatly the convenience of using expert movers to move one's home. read more

Corrigan was my company's mover of choice when they relocated me for another job opportunity this year. Their before, during, and after communication was prompt and helpful. It was a great relief to have someone come to my house to do everything necessary for the move, with minimal prep work on my part. I was present to greet the movers, who showed up on time, and proceeded to pack up my belongings and move them out to the truck. I had once minor instance of slight damage to some decor, but their management team was receptive to my feedback and looking to resolve my issue. I can not describe all the damage done to my household furniture. Deep gouge in what was a spectacular wood dining table. An oil painting carelessly stacked with a rip in the middle of the canvas. So so many items beyond repair. Heart break in every box that meant so much to us and so very little to this company. They have no business being in this line of work. Uncaring, unprofessional. I have no legal recourse because my home was in storage for a year but I hope someone punishes them. read more

We moved from San Francisco to Philadelphia with Corrigan, and it was a pretty positive experience for us with only two minor hiccups. Out of the 3 moving companies that we could choose from, Corrigan was the only one that was competent with the estimate - showing up on time, calling us by the right names, i.e., very basic things that indicate the company has their act together. The central office was very communicative and explained the processes very clearly, and were very patient with the fact that we didn't know what we were doing as we hadn't used a moving company before. They were on the ball before, during, and after the move. The car shipper was great - professional, on time, and communicative. The packers on the CA end had some issues - they got backlogged the day they were supposed to come pack our stuff, and didn't contact us. We had to call a few different people until we finally got a hold of them, and we figured out a reschedule that worked. When they did get there, they got everything done very quickly and didn't end up delaying us at all. The truck driver + loading/unloading crew were amazing and more than made up for the packers. Nick, the driver, very clearly explained everything, walked us through the necessities, and was flexible with us on the Pennsylvania end because of our loading dock scheduling. He got us unloaded and assembled the major furniture in the 3 hour window, and even kindly pointed out where and how they had broken our TV and that we should claim a reimbursement. The reimbursement process was pretty simple, and our contact in the central office was really helpful and got the reimbursement expedited. Would definitely use them again! read more

The planning phase, the timelines of loading and delivery was all as expected. The only negative was a flat screen television stand that was broken due to the cold weather and fragility of the plastic. We used Corrigan and they were great! They packed up our home and moved us out of state. My only "issue" was that the boxes weren't all labeled correctly, so when my son was unpacking his things, the box had his name on the outside, but it should have been labeled "master bedroom" for my bedroom. "Santa" stuff was in there, and now he knows there's no Santa :( There were a few other instances caused by the mislabels, but other than that, the guys were great! We didn't actually hire Corrigan, but called them out for an estimate and the gentleman who showed up was the most insulting and arrogant person I have ever met and would *never* use this moving company after having to endure the company of this ridiculous man. After hearing we were downsizing for a move to a big city apartment he informed us our small interstate move was basically not worth their company's time to provide us with the services we needed. He then said he would grace us with his knowledge and give us the lowdown on all his competitors completely honestly at which point he trashed the ones who gave us a great estimate - the ones whose price he can't beat - yet couldn't explain what that company did poorly and why we shouldn't go with them specifically. So there we standing- for over 30 minutes - listening to this blowfish yammer on we had to basically shove him out the door to get him out of the house. Terrible! read more

thest are the worst!!! i had to take day off work to receive a shipment from restoration hardware that was to be delivered on a friday between 10-2. that is the window they give you! corrigans call at 9:00 to tell me guy called in sick and cant deliver. adam ,the one i spoke to said sorry, i will be there tomorrow between 10-2. i just called company to please give me a better approximation of delivery time. closed! left 3 voicemails! i guess i lose 2 days of pay plus the 499.00 delivery fee thy charged!!!! very,very, unreliable!!!! read more

I just moved from Pennsylvania to North Carolina and Corrigan was the company I chose. I looked into a lot of companies and they gave me the best price and I also trusted them as a friend of mine moved previously with them. Overall they were great, I had no problems with the dates and all my things were delivered in their delivery window and nothing was damaged. All the people involved were professional and nice. When they delivered my things they made sure that the floors were protected. During both loading and delivery, Alex who was my moving coordinator kept in touch with me to see how everything was going. Anyway they were a great help and they definitely reduced the stress associated with moving. I will definitely move with them again. Also another reason to trust them: the estimated weight was much higher than the actual weight and I got a big refund back, which made things even better. A few minor negative points, which I assume can happen with any company...it took a while to get the final bill and the refund (almost 3 weeks), but they do say that it takes around 10 business days for this to settle. I just didn't know that from the beginning and it would be nice to have everything settled sooner. And the numbers on some of my boxes were doubled so there was some confusion for the people who delivered my things. However nothing was lost, I got everything and in good condition. And the price for my move was similar (or just a little higher) to what I got from all these online companies which for some reason are located in Florida. If you have searching around for moving companies you probably know what I'm talking about. But I definitely trust Corrigan much much more than these companies. I highly recommend them. read more

I really regret our decision to go with Corrigan moving. The quote we received was for 7 hours. 4 hours out and 3 hours in. We moved 20 min from our old house to our new house. This quote was based on a walk through of our house so they saw what we had to move. From the time of the quote, we actually moved some of our belongings ourselves, so we had less to move when moving day came. When they got there, they accused us of having more bins than we we did during the walk through, which was untrue, as we had moved several ourselves since the quote. They starting taking "breaks" less than 2 hours after arrival. They took frequent breaks while there. At one point, my husband, disgusted with their slow pace was down in the basement moving stuff himself with the only one of the 5 movers who actually moved at a decent pace, while the other 4 men were in my back yard for 20 min laughing and taking yet another break.After the trucks were loaded, they said they were stopping for a beverage and would meet us at the new house. They left empty beverage containers in the yard when they left with the moving trucks, so we had to pick up after them when they left, so we left after them. We got to the new house before them and ended up waiting for them. It took so long we got worried there was an accident, so my husband called the company to see what was going on. The person he spoke to said that "there is a 1/2 hour travel time, so they are taking that now." They didn't show up for another 1/2 hour. They put things in the wrong rooms, left garbage on the lawn, took way too many breaks that we were charged for. Only one out of the 5 men actually worked at a decent pace. Will never recommend them. read more
