The whole team was friendly and professional. They made me feel comfortable, answered my millions of questions, and did great work overall. And the team ran like a well oiled machine. Special shout out to Sam at the front desk who was warm and welcoming the first time I called, (and all the other times I called with follow up questions). Maranda made the billing process transparent and seamless (I walked out of my consultation appointment knowing exactly what I would be paying). My daughter had an OK experience with her wisdom teeth extraction. However, the office staff is extremely unprofessional. Several months after the surgery they sent me a bill for therapeutic medication they gave at the surgery. When I initially called to ask about the bill they told me they would work it out with the insurance company. Then a few days later Maranda started texting, emailing, and calling me about the charge over the course of a few hours. I asked for details in writing and she described about $1 worth of meds they wanted $155 for. I am not surprised insurance denied the claim given the excessive charge. Based on this experience I do not recommend them at all. It is not worth the trouble of getting harassed during your work day over a ridiculous charge. read more

I just wanted to share how truly grateful I am to Dr. Cline and her wonderful staff. They really helped to make a difficult experience much more comfortable. I was extremely anxious before the surgery, and had serious concerns about covid. The wonderful staff put my mind at ease, and took extra precautions for me. After our younger son's experience, I honestly will not be recommending Dr Cline. I can only speak to my own experiences: My own wisdom teeth extraction, and my older son's. Both procedures took at least an hour and a half. No bruising, no swelling, no meds after the first day (both experiences with different surgeons). My younger son, after having his 4 wisdom teeth extracted in 35 minutes, had severe bruising all inside his mouth (all over his jaws and soft palate). The bruising then travelled down his throat, causing intense jaw, throat and neck pain for over 2 weeks (he took Ibu and Tylenol 3x/day during this time... Can't do school on narcotics...). Dr Cline prescribed 30 pills of Hydrocodone for my teenager, as well as a bunch of steroids, antibiotics, Ibu, and anti-nausea meds. My impression of this experience was that my son's mouth and well-being would have benefitted from more time and care during the procedure itself. read more

All the staff here were amazing to me! I wish I had gotten all of their names. One day I had woken up with an impacted and infected wisdom tooth. I was in so much pain, I needed my wisdom tooth extracted immediately. I called around 10 oral surgeons in the area and Dr. Cline's office was the only place that was able to give me emergency surgery the day of. They were so quickly respondent with my needs. Despite the urgency, they made my visit very comfortable and calm. They ended up taking out all 4 of my wisdom teeth with my approval (2 ended up being infected/impacted). When Dr Cline was in Santa Cruz she did an implant for me. Within the year the implant fell out. There are no guarantees with implants and she offered no discount to replace it. I went to another dentist to have it replaced and it cost less that the one she did and has lasted over 10 years now. I can only think the problem was was with her work. It cost me thousands of dollars to have it done twice because she did not do a good job initially. Don't trust you moth and health to Dr Cline-Fortunato. read more

I woke up on a Thursday morning with a problem, saw my own dentist at noon, got in to see Dr. Cline at 3:30 the same day for "consultation", and had the surgery before noon the NEXT day. That's fast! We had a horrible experience with Dr. Cline with our 12 year old child. She performed an procedure on him that failed TWICE. He had to go under general anesthesia both times, applying a chain to a tooth that was coming in sideways. The bond to the chain failed TWICE and she would not even take a personal phone call to talk with me. She passed it over to her front office, and refused to refund us any of the money. It was very expensive, and even though the procedure failed and we had to go to a different oral surgeon (who was successful the first time) and pay cash to have the procedure done. She kept our insurance money and our out pocket expenses and refused even a partial refund! Horrible Experience! read more

The first oral surgeon I went to see in Santa Cruz for my wisdom teeth planned in just numbing me, pulling them, and send me out the door; obviously they hadn't met me before. Which is when I found Dr Clines office. Not only did they put me to sleep for the procedure, which I'm a big baby and needed, but they were so caring and empathetic. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible. For someone who's never had a cavity, tooth extraction was a big deal to me and I was really nervous. I'm so glad I found this office and can't thank them enough for being so human in a world of technology and coldness. If you need any dental work, this is he office you want. I recently needed an extraction that had to be done quickly. My wife had used Dr. Cline several years ago and convinced me to travel the distance to Scotts Valley for oral surgery. Dental surgery can be a traumatic experience (duh!), but I felt as comfortable as possible here. The staff and facilities are superb. The entire procedure was well done with a real consideration for any pain during the procedure. Great after care! They provided a really complete printed "instruction manual" covering every part of the care from start to finish - which really helped after the procedure. After going to my regular dentist (who "fired" me), another general dentist, an endodontist, a periodontist and an oral surgeon, all I had were a lot of different opinions and a tooth that was getting worse. With hip implants, I can't let a dental situation get out of hand.. I finally ended up at Dr. Cline's office. It was the perfect balance of kindness and competence. Her assistant was very experienced and kind. (Smart, too.) I did not have one moment of stress. I have had far too many dental extractions, root canals, implants, etc. I in the office.am 67 and I remember liking all the surgeons and endodontists I went to 20+ years ago, but I did NOT like any of the newer practitioners I saw. I want to start this off by pointing out that as patients we have a reasonable expectation to not only good patient care, but professionalism of a high caliber from beginning to end. When we first walked into this practice for a consult, we were greeted like royalty. Everybody was kind and attentive. They couldn't do enough for us. That includes Corrine Cline-Fortunato. Based on the recommendation we received from our dentist, I wasn't surprised. What surprised and disappointed me were many of the events that followed that initial consult. Here are my issues: We were charged $72.00 by the office for a single application of prescription numbing cream for my daughter's arm. If the doctor wrote a prescription, which I had her do once I realized what was what, it would cost me $10.00 instead. With the cost of medical care being what it is and in this economy, shouldn't they put some thought into this for the benefit of their patients? One of the office workers called our insurance and told me what the insurance would and wouldn't cover. Fine. I understood what our financial obligation was. Less than a week later (before my daughter had the procedure) I receive a bill from Corrine's office for the consulting amount, which this worker said was covered by insurance. When I called her to ask her about it, she was stone-cold and could care less that she told me one thing, but another thing was the result, costing me. Her attitude is what really offended me in that instance. She didn't treat me like a client, but like an annoyance. I asked to speak to Corrine, since she's the owner of her practice and never heard from her. In fact, I requested on three different occasions to speak with her and never heard from her. That's unprofessional. I'm going to skip elaborating on other issues I found to be less than professional, like Corrine completely ignoring my daughter and myself when we came in for a post-op visit, and well tell you the "coup de grace" on why I would NEVER recommend this practice again: When I brought my daughter in for her post-op visit, do you think the doctor herself checked on my daughter? No. And not because she wasn't there or was too busy; it's simply something she has her techs do instead. We had a concern and a question regarding my daughter's healing, but we have no doctor to speak with or question, just the tech. The cost of removing my daughter's wisdom teeth was well over $1500.00 and that should include a post op visit. I deem that doctor not being there for that checkup as unprofessional. I called a friend in the dental field in LS (also a graduate of USC, BTW) and she said that was completely unprofessional on Corrine's part. Frankly, what I suspect is that this practice likely has openings available on short notice because many others know what I now know about this practice: they don't genuinely value their clients. Lastly, yes, they do have a private waiting room complete with a tv/dvd, small stocked fridge, snacks and an extremely expensive coffee maker. I would trade that all in for a higher standard of professional courtesy (like having the good doctor actually do the post-op check up) and customer consideration. While Corrine is a good technician, many of the aspects of her office are disappointing. I've certainly experienced better and it is for that reason that I give this office a rating of two stars. read more

Dr Cline is the most professional, nice, smart, funny, caring and experienced oral surgeon. I love her new office too. As a designated driver/waiter, I was taken to a private waiting room complete with a tv/dvd, small stocked fridge, snacks and a coffee maker! I watched a documentary of ocean life while my husband went through surgery. The ladies in the office are all very, very nice. After giving plenty of time to think about writing a review I decided that it may be useful for others who are looking for an oral surgeon to know that while some may have a positive experience with Corrine Cline-Fortunato DDS- if you happen to have a complication or need for follow up outside of her "norm" you can expect to be treated with cold indifference. Yes, upon your initial consultation and arrival at the spa-like office setting you may be impressed with the style and atmosphere of the place, but once I had my procedure and needed some follow up care outside the regular next appointment time- I found the office staff and Corrine Cline-Fortunato unavailable and insensitive to my pain. Without going into all the details, in short, I was in a great deal of pain and the office could have cared less, once my surgery has taken place and I had developed an infection the care ended, they were unavailable and just kept putting me off. My dentist who initially recommended her, ended up having to care for the infection and ultimately, now 9 months later found something she left in the gum line and I have had further procedures to remove this- to eliminate the pain that came after the surgery by Corrine Cline-Fortunato. I hope our dentist is not longer recommending her to his patients. What was astonishing was how different the office, techs and Corrine were upon my initial care and then the 180 when I had a complication. She acted as if was an annoyance instead of caring that a patient was in pain. I have a teenager who needs all wisdom teeth extracted and would never go back to her nor recommend her. As word of mouth in our community goes along way - my experience with this oral surgeon was terrible. All flash and smiles but when the procedure didn't go as planned and I experienced a complication she left me in the dust. Terrible and unprofessional and costly. read more

As a child, I had a very poor dentist- he was heavy handed, never gave long enough for the topical to work before giving me shots, and was generally a jerk. Dr. Corrine Cline-Fortunato is the exact opposite! I had two molars removed yesterday- my upper and lower back left side. I had been avoiding getting the work done because I was nervous, but I have to say I shouldn't have worried at all! The waiting room is very nice-spacious, modern and comfortable. The staff is always happy to bring you water if you need while you are waiting. The technology at this practice is top-notch, and was also very comforting to me. For my evaluation appointment they took a 360 degree view of my mouth- which was awesome because I could see the areas where there were problems, and there was no doubt they existed. The back surgical room that I was in was as comfortable as one could wish- *extremely* clean and the chair was even comfy! The best thing- they offered me a warm blanket in case I got cold (I have been known to soak dentists' chairs in sweat, so I was very surprised when I actually accepted it and enjoyed it.) The Dr.'s bedside manner was very pleasant. Despite the oral sedative, I was still pretty freaked out when I got to the office, and the Dr. chit-chatted a bit about music with me and her surgical assistants, which really calmed me down. During the extraction itself, the Dr. and her assistants worked swiftly and precisely. The proceedure itself was rapid and was only nominally uncomfortable. If you have a tooth extraction to get done, this is the only place to go. You will be very happy you did! Thanks so much Dr. Cline-Fortunato!!! This office is incredible. Living in the age of technology it only makes since that those who are expected to work on your body to be technologically astute as well. Dr Corrine Cline-Fortunato's office is not only high-tech, but relaxing and friendly. The office staff was beyond nice, and extremely professional. Paperwork was a snap, and the financial person was very well prepared and efficient. The day of my surgery (wisdom tooth removal) the office was focused and obviously prepared for my arrival. They made me feel comfortable and were quite expressive and talkative throughout the process. They made my wife feel at home and welcome, and she loved the "reception" area that included espresso drinks and snacks. I had two of my wisdom teeth taken out last October and I was running out of time to take care of because of insurance issues. The office staff was able to fit me in right away and then they called me back and said I could get the procedure down the same day as the consult. The staff and Doctor were all very professional and gave me all the details of what to expect. The day of the procedure the assistant made sure I was comfortable and even gave me a blanket to keep me warm. I had a great experience here. The doctor and staff treated me with great respect and compassion. Therefore, I recommend them to all my friends. My oldest child had his wisdom teeth removed elsewhere and it was an assembly line experience. We saw a different doctor every visit. My second child was treated at another office. It was okay, but not particularly special. I went here and what a difference! I have a tough time with pain control and the doctor really took her time to help me find medication and methods to help me. Therefore, I was shocked by the review written on 06/23/2011 by "TS" as we are neighbors and I actually was in the office on the day she claims she was treated poorly (she was mad about her insurance copay amount and the fact that she had to wait her turn to see the doctor). I've had all four of my kids go through Corrine Cline-Fortunato for their wisdom teeth. As far as their dental abilities, I'd give them 5 stars. Now the fun begins. In all four cases, I paid more than $500 in excess of the combined contractual co-pay and what my dental insurance would cover, which means they had to refund me over $500 in each case. They evidently want to 'borrow' money from you for a few months. In the first two kids, everything was fine, and they refunded the correct amount. When my 3rd son's insurance payment came along, they claimed they were not an "in-network" provider and charged us an extra $350 when in fact they owed me $50. It took 6 months bouncing back and forth between the insurance company and their office manager, who was adamant they had no contract with Aetna until I got an Aetna rep who faxed to them their active contract. During this time they attempted to use a collection agency and eventually apologized for the event and admitted they were under contract. Even so, they never refunded me the $50. Now the fourth kid goes in. I should of known better but once again I had to haggle with them about the correct refund. They attempted to refund me an amount that was $500 less than what was actually owed. Like going to the store and someone giving you less change, only this case were talking hundreds of dollars. I cannot imagine this is an 'accident' or isolated case, since 2 out of 4 times I had this happen. They are shady when it comes to their finances. I would suggest using them but beware they will attempt to under refund you when your insurance has paid their contractual amount. Be sure to check your EOB and do not believe their accountant. Assume you will have to challenge them in the end. Or better yet, go somewhere else. read more

I saw Dr. Cline-Fortunato in 2001 for a very challenging extraction of my two front teeth, which I broke off in a surfing accident, and placing of 2 implants. She used my own tissue instead of bovine material to place the implants and they are still doing great 17 years later. She has great people skills, was very kind and explained everything, and used as little anesthesia as possible so that I could still respond during the procedure but remembered nothing. It was a great experience all around and I recovered very quickly. I've recommended her many times! read more

Wow, I almost enjoyed getting my wisdom teeth pulled! They are very good at what they do. I believe they were very gentle while I was under, as evidenced by an absence of swelling on the third and fourth days, and no cracking or dried lips. If you are planning on having a wisdom teeth removal procedure done at this office, PLEASE look elsewhere. Trust me, I wish I never set foot in this office. Now let me explain to you why I feel this way & why I wish I never had my wisdom teeth removed. My first appointment at this office seemed normal, the office staff was very friendly and welcoming. After I had my wisdom teeth removed, they gave me a detailed list of what to eat and what to avoid while I was healing. I followed the instructions they gave me for how to clean and take care of yourself after the surgery. I was very thorough and careful with everything. About a week or two after the surgery, the left side of my face was still SIGNIFICANTLY SWOLLEN. I was in pain/discomfort from this and I was also attending school during this time because I had the surgery done over spring break. They scheduled me another appointment because they thought there might be an infection or a food particle causing the prolonged swelling. They cleaned out the area and said that it should probably go down now. Nothing changed. I was on my second round of prescription painkillers and my second round of antibiotics. At this point my husband had to cover up all the mirrors in our house because I was obsessing over how deformed my face looked. They scheduled a THIRD appointment so they could try something else, they numbed the gum area around the extraction site, yet I could feel the horrible PAIN as Dr. Cline reopened my extraction site to see what was going on. She wasn't sure what exactly was happening. I was then referred to another Dr. in San Francisco, he examined the area and gave some suggestion of what could be going on. At this point, it had been about 4 WEEKS since my wisdom teeth removal and the left side of my face was still extremely swollen. I came back for a fourth appointment with Dr.Cline, she took an x-ray and determined that I must have fractured my own jaw somehow...She didn't say that her office or that she could of made a mistake during the surgery but she immediately blamed the patient for the problem. How professional is that??? She couldn't perform the surgery that day, so I came back for my fifth visit and she performed the necessary surgery. About a week after that, the left side of my face FINALLY started to go down. I was no longer horrified to look in the mirror at my own face, I could see that it was starting to look normal again. I was feeling a lot of hope and then the progress suddenly came to a halt. My face had been asymmetrical for a month and when I finally saw the swelling go down, I was happy just to see that. When Dr.Cline looked at the progress, she could tell there was still a difference. I was hopeful that the progress would continue but it never did..... It has now been two years since my surgery and the left side of my face has permant damage from the wisdom teeth removal Dr.Cline performed. I've learned to be confident even though every time I look in the mirror, I see the damage to my face from Dr.Cline. I had my primary physician evaluate my situation (whom saw my face prior to the surgery) and she was able to notice the difference in my face right away. She referred me to a ENT Dr. who informed me that there was NO SIGN OF A FRACTURE to my jaw...meaning Dr.Cline not only messed up my face but LIED to me about what exactly happened. The ENT actually stated that I had an enlarged masseter muscle which was not enlarged prior to surgery. The ENT suggested I see Dr.Cline to see if there was anything she could possibly do to fix the problem. When I went back to the office to let them know what the ENT said, the office staff appeared nervous and the receptionist was INCREDIBLY RUDE to me. The office staff even noticed that the swelling never fully went away and stated they could see the difference. I scheduled an appointment while I was there but then later received a phone call front the receptionist notifying me it would be 250$ fee to have the x-rays done as the upcoming appointment...Very interesting that the receptionist failed to mention that earlier. I ended up not going to the appointment due to the message the receptionist left for me describing all of the extra expenses I would be responsible for. This seemed not only petty, but careless and rude considering that it was DR.CLINE who should be paying for these extra expenses. Dr.Cline never reached out or apologized to me. Despite that irrepocable damage caused by DR.CLINE, I am still seeking treatment for what she did to me. Just please do me a favor, avoid going to Corrine Cline-Fortunato. At the end of the day, they do not care about you but all they truly care about is MONEY. The sad thing is I feel bad having to write such horrible things about a Dr. who seems genuine and nice, but this is all truth. I wanted to get my story out there because I would hate for someone else to go through what I had to go through. PLEASE AVOID THIS OFFICE AT ALL COST read more
