First time I stepped in this cafe. They opened 5-6 months ago. I was hesitating to go in at first. I wish I was there long time ago. I ordered spicy chicken with avocado panini and latte coffee. The panini was huge and so tasty. It came with a delicious salad. My latte was in a nice big cup also delicious. I'm hooked! I will going back there soon. The coffee here is very tasty, but the food is inconsistent and often misses the mark. We ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant that was completely flavorless. How you combine those ingredients and get flavorless is beyond me. We also ordered a lox bagel that was just okay. read more

This is hands down the best cafe in Alexandria! I've tased the smoothies, the food, the coffee and the tea and the quality is second to none. There is definitely 'love' being put in the food and drinks! :-) In addition, the culture and ambiance of the place has a very warm, neighborhood feel. I had enjoyed eating at this establishment, in the past. The food has been good breakfast/brunch meals. However today when I came in, I was treated so harshly by the staff. The checkout girl, had no idea how to do anything and needed help with everything and on top of that they messed up my order and then the server YELLED AT ME telling me "NO YOU ORDERED IT THAT WAY." I was floored with the rudeness, and the inability to accept responsibility. It's hard to find a restaurant that can properly poach an egg and deliver (a firm white and creamy center). This new neighborhood coffee shop delivered a perfectly cooked poached egg atop turkey bacon and avocado toast. The restaurant is bright and airy and has a cool vibe, with a French soundtrack playing while we dined. Hubs ordered an omelet. His assessment? "I couldn't have asked for better". The coffee menu is extensive, and though the food menu is much smaller, it is an inventive selection. Our Thursday morning visit found a dozen people enjoying breakfast in. The café seems to be set up more for a take-out crowd, with one side dominated by club chairs and coffee tables (more conducive to a cuppa than a meal), and some may feel uncomfortable slumping over to take a bite. In fact, we saw 2 groups move from the club chairs to the window counter and tables at the first opportunity. This is a place that invites you to enjoy a leisure meal, so I'm hoping they will ditch some of the coffee tables or raise them somehow. Side note... no refills on regular drip coffee, and it's a tad on the pricey side, but overall a really nice addition to the West Side. read more

The pancakes were very dense, the fruit on top was ripe, which means the strawberries were more brown than pink/red and acidic. Breakfast potatoes were just not good from the texture to the taste. The sausage egg and cheese sandwich had different types of sausage in it, looks like they ran out of one type, flavor wise was fine but just thrown together in a sloppy way. This is my absolute favorite cafe. They opened right around the time my daughter was born and they've watched my daughter grow just as I've watched their cafe flourish! The cafe is run by just the kindest people ever. I used to go almost every day just because it was always such a lovely interaction in my day. I love this place - it has a hip vibe and comfy seating and the staff is so friendly. They remembered us on only our second visit. I was looking for a place to hang out near my daughter's physical therapy and I found it! She has a long recovery ahead so I expect I will be visiting this place a lot over the next year. Items are pricey, the space is cramped, and although the website implies that they welcome people who want to hang out and work, as soon as I sat down and opened my laptop, one of the employees walked over and (without saying a word) plopped a small sign on my table that said it was a "laptop free" zone. This was after I'd taken the time to ask for the wifi connection information of the same employee and she said nothing about restricted seating for use of laptops -- which seems like missing the mark on basic customer relations 101. read more

I would give it 6 stars if I could! I have nothing but good things to say about this café. I have been coming since their soft opening, and I have hardly missed a day since. The staff are the incredibly genuine, friendly, and have a stellar attitude for service. The coffee is stellar and they do not skip a beat over and over again, making the same great cup each time I come in! I have yet to try every item on the menu, but from what I see others ordering, the dishes they serve for breakfast and lunch are unlike those of any other coffee shop I have ever been to... They present themselves time and time again with a restaurant-quality appearance and portions. They do not skimp out and you get well over what you pay for. Rumor has it there will be a spectacular array for weekend brunch times coming soon! It is worth even a fair drive to come check this place out. It is truly unique!
