A restaurant devoted to gourmet breakfast toasts? Hell yeah! But who are we kidding. Toast isn't just for breakfast anymore. Which is why I was more than happy to pop in for lunch toast while on a recent biz trip to the area. This is a tiny little spot, and parking is all but impossible to find. But my efforts were richly rewarded with a hearty portion of their tasty tuna toast (served upon a custom wood board of course). We were walking around Oldtown looking for a quick bite and a coffee and saw Toastique, it was just what we were looking for. I love a restaurant that specializes and doesn't try to do too much. Toastique has a regular and seasonal selection of toasts, smoothies and bowls and coffees...perfect amount of options without overwhelming diners or venturing into too many categories. Counter service with self serve regular coffee or you can order a speciality coffee. We ordered the burrata toast with crab and a smoked salmon toast. Each toast is served on either sourdough, multigrain or rustic bread or you can choose. Beautifully presented on a board with their "gold" service set, although it was almost too pretty to eat. WORST BREAKFAST OF 2025! I have been to other Toastique restaurants and enjoyed them. This one was a disaster. If you were going to call yourself "Toastique" then the bread should be tasty and interesting. This bread was inedible (literally, I scraped the toppings off the horrible "toast"!). The smoked salmon was bland and tasted like ... nothing really. When the thinly sliced cucumbers are the best tasting part of your meal, you know there is a problem! The staff were nice enough, but the woman calling out the names when the orders were ready could barely be heard or understood at all. And, leaving my food sitting on the counter for all to see, touch, or breathe on while they are making the coffee seems like a bad idea all around. Go find a McDonald's nearby; at least it will be consistent and edible, if no more interesting than this mess was. read more

I discovered this and loved it as a quick little spot to grab something healthy after a workout class. I love that they gave me a samples of the fresh juices because I couldn't decide which one I wanted. The staff has always been really nice and patient at the store and all of the ingredients are incredibly fresh. It's hit or miss whether or not it is busy in there but it's great for grab and go. Took a little longer to get our order than expected but not a crazy long wait and honestly worth the wait. Wife and I got the same thing. 3 cheese Italian toast with an added egg. Very substantial slice of avocado toast loaded with flavor. Maybe the only thing I found issue with was the prosciutto was extremely salty.... Seemed more salty than I've had in the past but if eaten together with the rest of the toast (as intended) was a very good balance. Why the 4 stars? The young lady that took our order said I wasn't allowed to leave a tip with my credit card because they aren't allowed to keep tips and didn't have a tip jar either. Only tips handed to them were they allowed to keep. Not sure if that's a company policy but if so needs to change. Otherwise a great alternative to a big sit down breakfast. I got the avocado smash with GF bread, hardboiled egg and lump meat crab. It was my greatest disappointment. The avocado was unseasoned. Even with the chili oil, it wasn't enough flavor. I should've asked if the eggs were cold or warm. I assumed warm and I assumed wrong. I asked the staff if the crab meat was real or imitation before adding it on. They assured me it was real and I assure you (allegedly because I won't be sued ) that it was imitation. You can't fool a Marylander . On top of that, it was very fishy smelling. If it was real lump crab, it was not fresh. Also, not being upfront about imitation vs real may cost someone with celiacs their health. A lot of imitation crab isn't gluten free believe it or not! I assume best intentions that they simply didn't know whether it was real or imitation. So I did what anyone would do in this predicament after spending way too much on avocado toast, I deconstructed it- chucked the $6 crab bits off the top and seasoned the avocado with my trusty Trader Joe's onion salt seasoning (thats how I make my avocado toast pop at home). I have never been to your business before. I started working in old town (across the street from you) and decided to try this place. I arrived at 755am on 4/18/25 to order a simple smoked salmon sandwich. I was appalled to see it was 8:02am and the bread has not come out of the toaster. 8:05am, I'm already late for work and the toast is still in the toaster. It shouldn't take more than 1 min to toast bread. It also shouldn't take more than 4 min to make a sandwich. I had to cancel my order. So not only did I not have breakfast, I was also late for work. They also have hot tea which is perfect for the colder weather now. It's loose leaf tea in a satchel they make by hand (not premade satchels of tea).
