The sites are spaced apart nicely so you don't feel cramped and they had a variety of different sites, some near the lake, some in the open, and my personal favorite, some with lots of trees. All the sites have electric and water and all are close to restrooms. And get this....all sites are only $25 a night!!!! This campground is a must stay!!!! I promise you'll love it!!!! I forgot to mention, they also sell wood and have a convenient store on site with very reasonable prices.

So when we pulled up we were definitely not impressed by the construction we saw going on, but figured this was just a temporary thing. You know...adding some campsites and doing some minor updates. NOT. The whole first season was just addition upon addition of digging huge pits and tearing apart old buildings...not a single project ever finished before the next was started. The second year was even worse. In addition to that, our lovely neighbor's site happened to be that of the owners sister...who was allowing her dog to crap all over our site since it was immediately adjacent to hers. Apparently she lived there all year long and so we were welcomed back to camp the third year (after having already complained about the landmines the year prior) to 30+ piles of crap. When we mentioned it to the owners for the second time...Lloyd got extremely offended, arguing with us and telling us the piles weren't even dog crap but from wild animals. Sorry...but we have three dogs and know what dog doo looks like. The whole incident was uncalled for and made us so uncomfortable we pulled our camper out the following weekend. We have better things to do with $1000 then pay for a "shitty" campsite. If you have to stay at this campground...stay clear of the Cabin on the Hill.

They also told me there is more than 1 airline that has a direct flight from upstate NY into Raleigh/Durham airport when in fact there is only 1. Had this agency been willing to answer my questions so that I would know what my options were and if they were polite to me I would have considered using them to book my flight. I'm not sure how this agency is still in business when they are so rude and unhelpful when a potential client has questions.

Tammy, the Owner, did the purchase for me. She had all my information, including the fact that my son and I have two different last names. When I got to Newark Airport I was informed by the airline that they would not allow us to leave the country -- that it has been Ireland's travel policy for a long time to not allow an adult and child/children traveling under different last names to enter the country. I was horrified obviously and when I reached out to Tammy I was told very simply that it was not her fault and that she "cannot be expected to know the travel regulations for each country". She actually stated that because I travel a lot I should have known....clearly I disagree. Her email is as follows: "Lisa, yes I help clients purchase many aspects of travel for great prices. I help clients plan and coordinate their trips. I purchase airline tickets with the legal names that my clients give to me. It is not up to me though, to research every destination to tell clients the rules and laws of the country, much less the rules contained within divorce/custody court documents. This is up to the traveler to research and understand their own travel. I advise of passport and visa requirements. There are many things that can stop a traveler from boarding a plane from criminal records to incorrect names. There are many rules of travel that I could not possibly tell each and every client. You have traveled fairly extensively, I would believe that in your divorce/custody court documents, if that is the case, that you would have known what was required for your son to travel with you. I do not know everyone's individual situation.". While she refers to a divorce/custody situation in her email this situation had nothing to do with this -- the simple fact was that my son and I have different last names. I read an article that 500,000 women last year had this problem when traveling in 2017. Tammy should have been aware of this and advised me accordingly. Previously I purchased a cruise package from Tammy. Unfortunately I bought the Dublin tickets before the cruise trip. Had the cruise taken place I would never have used her for the Dublin tickets. Although we purchased the cruise about 6 months before it was to embark, about 1 week prior to the trip Tammy informed me that the "balcony" room I booked and paid for was no longer available. I was incredulous. We were forced to take a room with a window only. Tammy also did not make us aware of the hundreds (and I do mean hundreds) of dollars in extra and unavoidable charges made by the cruise line including gratuities that were nearly $100 per day. Use Ithaca Travel Sun's services with caution.

Lighthouse Landing is awesome. We have gone tubing just about every weekend this summer. Pros: The owner is super cool. When we arrived, he was mowing the lawn. He hopped off and showed us to our room. Check in wasn't till 3pm but he allowed us to go up early. The rooms were huge. Very intimate since we could leave our doors opened and unlocked the entire stay. Only the bridal party stayed at the inn so it was nice. The owner and staff were all super helpful, polite, and nice. McKenzie, one of the staff, especially sweet and didn't complain about anything even though she was there all day and night (give this girl a raise). They did skimp out on liquor, not watered down at all. Food was amazing . I believe the owner cooked everything. The venue was very beautiful. The view was perfect. We got very lucky since it literally rained all day. The rain stopped and the sunset was amazing. Cons: I stayed here mid October and the weather here is still very hot and cold, literally. Mostly cold. The ac/heater unit didn't work very well and it either got way too hot or way too cold. Couldn't find a middle ground. Also, it took a while for it to get to warm up. Our fireplace was not functional and all. The owner made a few attempts to fix that problem but never got fixed. There's a hot tub here. We didn't use it. There were dead flies all over the place. On the rug, in the tub, and on the sheets. The rooms didn't seem to be clean. There was hair in the sink, gunk in the shower, hair on the walls on the shower, and dust all over the place. My boyfriend walk around the room barefoot and tracked dirt into the bed. Could def use a nice vacuum and dusting. Happy to say the bed at least had a mattress cover. The rooms were ridiculously expensive given the cleanliness.
