They also convinced me in my grief to buy a $75 medication that may get her to eat again. This cat was done eating. Then, not the health dept, but a coworker reaches out to me, I tell him all of the above, and I add that I cannot understand how your nurse was surprised that a sick dying scared cat bit her, my cat doesn't have rabies, and stop contacting me. This place also about 3 years ago saw My cat, said she had asthma, and gave me the shadiest instructions to contact a Canadian 3rd party pharmacy for the medicine and the face harness. She didn't have asthma, our old house was just dusty and her symptoms went away immediately after we moved. Total scammers.

I recently called Adana's office to arrange for cremation of my cat (20 y/o) who had died at home the previous night. Following is a summary of my exchange with the staff member who picked up my call. They did not identify themselves. - I gave my name and explained my business - The staff member offered no condolences and asked quite abruptly, "Did you prepare the body?" - When I asked what they meant, they asked whether I had put the body in the freezer. - I had not thought to do that - In a belligerent tone, the staff member then asked whether I was telling them that I had left "the animal" out all this time with all the heat blowing around on "it" - I explained that I had wrapped him in a towel and placed him in a box in a spare bedroom - Again very abruptly I was instructed that I could not bring "the animal" (my sweet kitty who gave only purrs and cuddles his whole life) in through the front and that I must go in and pay first then drive around to the back of the clinic and they would pick "it" up there. My motivation for writing about this conversation was to prepare others for the kind of staff treatment they could expect at Adana. I cannot begin to imagine how toxic this person would have been to a pet owner newly devastated by the loss of a beloved companion. I hasten to add that the reception staff with whom I interacted in-person later that day were empathetic, gentle, and kind, and I felt that my furry family member of 20 years had been left in competent hands.

Here's why. We had our dog in there for a routine checkup and vaccinations after adopting him in 2019. All went well. One of the vaccines required a booster two weeks later. Much to our surprise, we were charged a full office visit ($45) fee for literally a 30 second visit to administer a booster shot. I have never experienced such a thing in my decades of tending to my pets' needs. If you want top notch care, sure ... visit Adana. If you have the money and can be raked over the coals and don't mind being nickel-and-dimed, then this is the vet for you. Needless to say, we will not be back.

She did a great job, the animals weren't stressed at all, and neither was I. Recently, I hired her to come to the house to give my senior dog euthanasia. It's never a great day when you have to make that decision, but she was kind and caring. She made sure that my dog did not have one single moment of anxiety - which is all that counts, really. The process was quiet and efficient. I can't recommend her highly enough. She also followed up with one of the kindest condolence notes ever. My own siblings didn't even bother with an email.

Some things that they offer are nail clippings, vaccines (shots), exams, X-rays, they can prescribe all sorts of medicines if needed, emergency visits, over night kenneling, dental exams, surgeries, neuter/spay, and humane euthanasia. If they don't offer something they can connect you to someone who does. They are very flexible and I have had to bring in several dogs and one cat in for an emergency before (on different occasions) and they were very timely and professional about each interaction. If it was an emergency, they would insist on bringing them in immediately. The majority of the staff is women which was very helpful because my rescue dog (pit bull) was working through a fear of men at the time. All of the vets here are very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Dr. Clifford especially stood out to me in a positive way because of how she interacted with my pit bull. My pit bull was anxious and did not want to get up on the table, Dr. Clifford got down on the floor with him for the rest of the exam and this instantly put him at ease. I know that sometimes the front desk people can come off as rude and everyone has bad moments but it's a stressful job!! Bottom line, the veterinarians here are superb and I recommend everyone to go here. (They even have an exotic vet now)

Before your appointment, they will request medical records from your current primary veterinarian. The initial waiting time in the lobby was very short, a couple minutes tops. For all of the examinations and samples, they took our cat to a separate room and had us wait in the lobby (this was a dermatology visit). They did this twice because after their findings they wanted to discuss extra tests. The staff were very friendly and informative. In total, the visit took 1.5 hours, likely because it's a teaching facility and we needed a few tests. But to me it didn't feel that long. So far I'm satisfied with the care our cat has received here!

I still stand by my four star review and they are an awesome place to adopt from. The foster even checks in from time to time to see how Arlo is doing and wanted to see pictures of him growing up! Also, I mentioned in my previous review that I would rate five stars if they offered more things like microchipping and the like. I stand by that as well but, would like to add that East Coast Adoption Agency is a 501(c)3 and my local shelter gives low cost adoption to dogs adopted from a 501(c)3. Saved a few hundred dollars that way.

We picked her up from the foster home within two hours of them being transported from Birmingham Humane Society so the adoption agency did not know much about her litter. What we thought was kennel cough was advanced pneumonia. All puppies in the litter were hospitalized after being adopted. Our puppy, Hazel, did not make it after being on oxygen for several days. She passed away within a week of us adopting her. All families involved spent thousands on medical bills as our pet insurance did not cover pre-existing conditions or any bills within two weeks of adoption. East Coast Adoptions should change their practice going forward to hold dogs for a longer period of time after transport. They administered antibiotics to our puppy that were inappropriate for her size and made her sick and they do not have dogs by a vet after making it to New York. We are unlikely to ever rescue a dog again but we would never recommend East Coast Adoptions. We know that this was an unfortunate event and everyone is trying their best to rescue dogs but ECA has put dogs and families in terrible situations.
