We have used Midstate for our small and large animals for years. I am constantly impressed with their customer service, care and fair dealings. Recently, we had a procedure that did not go as planned and we needed to return on another date (completely the fault of my canine friend being a little grumpy and not acting appropriately). Even though it was my pups' fault and I know they had to use time and resources they did not charge me for the visit and scheduled us for a second attempt the following week. Success! Groot now has beautifully trimmed nails and no one was harmed in the process. read more

My cat was seen by Sarah Scocozza. I asked for blood work to be done to see why he would be having trouble breathing. To check for allergies. Sarah told me if she does blood work it would probably just come back normal. My cat was 15 years old. He was given a steriod shot and antibiotic shot and I was never told of any risks from the steroids. I googled it when my cat got worse. He suffered from congestive heart failure. I had his file sent to a different clinic and the x ray results were never sent. I called and asked for the results and was not given the results. Just from Sarah saying she didn't see anything. Where are the pictures if you did an x ray? My cat suffered from congestive heart failure and it was confirmed he had cancer as well. Blood work would of shown his white blood count was high. I don't recommend anyone to take their pets here. Not compassionate or caring at all. read more

This is coming from someone who has to make a lot of calls during the day. These ladies who answer the phones at this clinic are wonderful! In a time where rudeness, laziness along with the "I don't care attitude" prevails, these guys are a breath of fresh air. This place is absolutely exceptional from my renewed and continued experience. Dr. Sun is absolutely amazing with my best friend Myla. Myla is a female Boxer from the SPCA. Dr. Sun takes the time to explain everything in detail, listens to concerns and comments about Myla's health, and provides awesome guidance at every turn. My first experience with another doctor at the facility was less than satisfactory; as though I was at a fair viewing exhibits of dog related items for sale...costing me $150. But Dr. Sun changed all of that. Her care for Myla for over a year has been the catalyst for Myla's continued healthy and happy life. I also want to give a big shout out to the front end staff. Over the summer of 2017 I was concerned that Myla had two tick bites on her stomach. There were large, round, red rings that looked painful. When I called Midstate Veterinary Service the front end employee said that there were many cases of black fly bites that were coming through the door. The black fly bites would go away on their own within a week and would not affect the dogs health. Then, exceeding expectations, the front end employee asked me to take a picture of the red rings and send it to Midstate so she could see it and review it with the Vet. Within an hour of sending the picture I got a call from Midstate saying that the red rings were definitely black fly bites and not to worry about scheduling an appointment. If the red rings did not go away after 7 days I was told to call the office and bring Myla in. How incredible is that? A law office giving advice, a mechanic doing a general inspection, and any other Veterinary Clinic would have brought you right in and charged you for their time...to tell you it is nothing is wrong. Midstate spent time on the phone with me twice, reviewed the picture, and saved me $100 visit. No charge! I was so impressed that the care for Myla, over the opportunity to profit on an unnecessary appointment, that I told everyone I know they need to bring their pet to Midstate Veterinary Service. Although the vets here are great the customer service is drastically lacking. Numerous people warned me about the incompetence of the receptionists and as I had a few ok encounters with them I didn't believe it and continued to do business with them. The receptionists are rude, unhelpful and seem only concerned about the fees they can tack onto your bill. The last few times I've attempted to use their services have ended in frustration and my family finding a new vet office. They seem to have little to no training in customer service which is a shame as I have heard from more then one family they have moved away from using midstate. Hopefully they can get these awful receptionists sorted out as they are clearly losing business. read more

We are so appreciative of Doctor Sun as well as the top-notch Techs. and the office staff for all that they have done for our dogs. Dr. Sun is exceptional. She is very attentive to both the animal and the human. She is extremely knowledgeable in her field and leaves us all feeling confident in expertise. The front office staff is always friendly and do their best to schedule appointments that work for everybody-and always with a smile. The technicians have always been attentive, kind and always seem happy to see yet another friend in need. I can not speak highly enough about this practice. We have tried many vets over the years but when we found Midstate we hit the jackpot. When we had the horses they would make farm calls. They are so friendly and helpful whether they come to you or you go to them with your smaller animals. Prices are excellent. We take our cat to them. Yes, its a drive versus going to a local vet, but we would not change vets for anything. Highly recommend this Vet service. read more

I liked the actual vet when I was able to get in to see them. Ive been going to this vert for years and its time to move on to a better one. they are open til 5:30 but their last appointment is at 4 making it almost impossible to get in for working people. The do have Saturday appointments but you have to book those 3 months in advance. When I asked if they could possible squeeze me in some time closer to 5 (just for a new puppy check up) they said no. When I told them I would have to find a new vet if I can never get in they said that's ok. They don't care about their customers at all. read more

After a disastrous weekend visit to Cornell ER with our 12 year old cat, Duffy, we transferred him to his primary care vet Monday morning. He was treated by Dr. Sun who expertly evaluated his symptoms via her own physical exam, Cornell ER records and further blood testing. Though his dx is complicated by previous serious GI issues, she treated his symptoms with additional hydration, corticosteroids and a temp diet change. This turned him around completely and he's back to normal. We want to thank Dr. Sun for her compassion and common sense approach as well as the Midstate staff who were all wonderful. read more

There are no words to describe how much the people in this office have become like family to us! They have been there for every little and major thing for all 5 of our animals. We also foster kittens and have oftentimes brought our little charges in when we could not get to the shelter for a checkup.
