Pen was adopted 3 years ago from ECA and Tilly was just adopted in May of 2017.

I adopted another dog from Sarah at ECA and had another wonderful experience. She is great and I would encourage anyone to adopt a dog from this rescue.

Cannot day enough good things about our experience with Leah at East Coast Adoptions. We adopted our lab mix, Hondo (formerly Adam) in January 2020. Everyone was beyond informative. The high level of care provided to him and all the dogs there was extremely apparent. Would recommend to anyone!

One month update on Prince! The vet says he is a healthy puppy, he's done with his deworming process, he got his shots, and he is growing so fast! I can't thank Sarah enough for saving these babies from high kill shelters from down south and bringing them up here so they can find a forever home! Again, thank you Sarah and East Coast Adoption for giving me a sweet baby boy, I can't wait to adopt another one soon!

    Sweet baby Nyx.

Just adopted a wonderful little border collie/ lab mix from Sarah. Had a wonderful experience adopting from Sarah. Her facility was clean, the puppies were all clean and clear eyed. Sarah went over all the information and made sure we understood everything before we left with our sweet puppy, Nyx. I would highly recommend this agency. From the application, to the actual pick up, the process couldn't have been easier or fast. Sarah was wonderful and answered our questions very quickly. I can't say enough great things about East Coast and Sarah herself!

We adopted Riley in February of 2013, from east coast adoption agency and we were very pleased with how quickly we were able to get an appointment to see him and we're so happy to be able to take him home right away especially since we lived 40 minutes away. He did have fleas but he was treated the night before when he and his litter mates arrived. We gave him another dawn soap bath that night and had no further problems. Riley is a great dog with a sweet temperament and a wonderful addition to our family! We did the wisdom DNA test on him and found out he was a lab,Norwegian elkhound, old English sheepdog! I would recommend this agency to anyone looking to add a dog to their family, it's wonderful to be able to save a puppy that otherwise would not have made it.

I adopted a puppy from Sarah in Ny at the end of February 2016. It was a seamless adoption , I have a healthy happy Great Pyrenees mix puppy . I drove for hours to get there and would do it again to adopt here. It was a clean nice facility and lots of puppy goodies you can buy from them while your there . I highly recommend these guys , when adopting you take a chance as you don't know the parents etc but this was a truly wonderful experience, thank you for all you do !

She's a year old and had fleas but SPCA treated her with flea medicine, gave her a distemper vaccine and checked her for feline leukemia and HIV. They named her Nebula though my husband and I had named her Oreo, without their knowledge, beforehand. They have a cat area where cats can play that allows the cats to go outdoors. It looks nice and the cats look relaxed. The cats can't go into there until after they've received all of their vaccines. After I adopted the cat, I took her to the vet in Syracuse to get her checked up. They called SPCA and only had record of her rabies vaccine that was done across the street at Pet Street Station. I know for a fact that they told me multiple times that she got a distemper vaccine, and got checked and was negative for HIV and leukemia but somehow they lost record of that over the span of less than 1 week. I think what may have happened was that they kept the record under the name Nebula rather than her new name Oreo though I was told that her record would be updated to reflect both names. I would have easily kept the name Nebula if it wasn't for my husband being attached to the name Oreo already. Other than that mishap, my experience here was good. I felt bag for all of the dogs that weren't adopted yet. They bark a ton when a new visitor comes in and the sound is pretty deafening and heartbreaking. They have some free pet bowls here and also sell a lot of pet accessories.

Financially we were able to give a donation during the holiday season in addition to buying all the essentials to bring our girl home. But it is nice that they have events such as this where families who might not be able to part with all that money up front can take home a new family member, spoil them a little, and hopefully give back throughout the year rather than just paying the adoption fee. I was impressed by how clean the cat room was and how happy the cats seemed. The volunteers didn't seem to know much about the individuals and the lady working at the front desk was a bit brash. I also do love that it is a non kill shelter. The only thing that brought it down to a 4 was just the harsh attitude behind the desk.
