I feel like I had a "Pretty Woman" experience at Cos Bar. I walked in one afternoon last week and wanted to buy some make up. There was one other customer and 2 employees. I am not an avid make up shopper but wanted to freshen up what I already owned. The woman could not have been ruder, she was angry that I didn't know which brand I wanted, and when I asked her to do what she thought I'd like she rudely responded, "you didn't make an appt". I walked out ... BIG MISTAKE ... I would have bought foundation, eye shadow, blush, lip gloss, whatever she thought. She could not have been ruder and I will NEVER walk into that store again. The worst part is I was in the one in Aspen last fall and the man was also pretty rude but I just thought maybe he was having a bad day. 2 bad experiences - I'm out! read more

Terrible inventory and worse service. The sale girls followed us around and hounded us to buy something.... more expensive than we wanted. When I kept telling them what I wanted, the sales girl tried to up-sell me. I kept saying what I wanted and what I liked, but she wasn't listening - she was more concerned with her commission. When I had to return a mascara because it was dry (I bought several items), the sales girl insisted it wasn't. I had to prove it to her by taking it out and putting it on my hand. Terrible service. Period. Please don't fall for their sales pitches. If you have to go there, know what you want beforehand. read more

I have been going to the Cos Bar for over ten years. Ilona is simplest the best. She is incredibly knowledgeable. She has been helping me with makeup and skin care products for years. I have very sensitive skin. She always knows the perfect products from eye liner to face cleanser for me. Most recently, I went to a dermo three weeks before my bridal shower. I was prescribed two different creams to help my acne. Within a week of using the cream I started to get burns all over my face from the creams. I went to Ilona to see if she had anything to help my skin. It was so red and inflamed. She suggested La Mer which is cream made for burns. Within days I my face started to heal. As you can imagine I was really worried my skin would look horrible for my bridal shower. By the time my shower rolled around my skin was back to normal. I don't know what I would have done without her help. I was in a few weeks ago to thank her and I met Michelle. She was just as helpful. She gave me perfume samples to put in my bridesmaids' gift bags. Thank you Cos Bar Ladies! read more

I just had a wonderful experience at the CosBar in Edwards! A special big thanks to Ilona! I have been going to CosBar since I have been wearing makeup - 20 years+. I have been to, and lived near, numerous of their stores - Aspen, Santa Fe and Vail. Have always had a pleasant experience but the Edwards location is beyond. Low key, helpful and take their time to help you with what you need. Not only did Ilona help me with what I needed. She helped me find a couple of products that I didn't even know existed. I can't wait to try them. Plus, she helped me get my mother in law a gift this past Christmas that she still raves about. Even though we are close to Denver with "big box" options for makeup. This store is the only way to go to get personalized service and a lifetime of beauty support!! read more

I went into this business with my friend, as I have done on other visits to Vail valley(for late March skiing). This time the girls couldn't wait to get me out the door with as much product (I didn't need) as possible. I didn't feel as though my skincare issues were addressed, at all. I asked for a specific Chanel product, they did not carry any inventory whatsoever and didn't offer to help me find another source. I felt they were trite and fake in their demeanor and they lacked true 'customer service'. The blond lady could not have been more fake or condescending. Within the same week, the European lady was almost mean in getting me out the door by closing time. I went elsewhere for my friend's gift. I refuse to buy anything from her! I was sold products that I now regret buying, I'm sure she(the blond lady) earned a hefty commission off of. The shelves were dusty & dirty, the check-out counter was a mess with packages, wrapping, other products, it looked bad. They even gave me the wrong mascara as the counter was so cluttered with other products. I'm sure I would have felt better if I had been treated with dignity and respect. However, I didn't' feel that my patronage mattered as much as how many products I bought. This store should get cleaned up, hire, and re-train their staff to be customer service oriented and not commission hungry. They missed the mark, both times. I will be back next year, I hope they make the needed customer service improvements, or hire better suited staff. read more

I was just insulted by someone who was selling the moisturizer at the makeup counter by making me feel like I could not afford what I was wanting to look at. She made multiple comments about if I would be comfortable with the price of the moisturizer because she wouldn't give me a sample unless I would come back and actually purchase it. I CAN afford that and DO purchase that where I am from so someone should never judge a book by its cover. Just because I was wearing workout clothes does not mean I cannot afford a lotion. I will NEVER be back and if I couldn't afford that I would be horribly embarrassed as she did that in front of other customers. read more

Allie was awesome! Not only did she keep her cool when the store filled up with Patrons, but continued to multi task and assist each customer with patience and ease. Nice selection to choose from, but staff isn't very pleasant to deal with. Twice I've gone in to purchase something (and ready to spend some money) but twice I've decided not to based solely on the service. I'll probably not return after this last visit. read more

I feel like the staff can be slightly off putting. They're always talking amongst themselves and won't really give you the time of day unless you've made it clear you intend to purchase something. They're helpful once you do but they just aren't very approachable. There is a decent product selection though and they keep everything pretty well stocked. read more

I have had the complete opposite experience. I needed help with some make up for a promo for a charity event. I called Cos Bar and they were wonderful! Carrie spent over a hour professionally applying my make up. I was able to observe first hand how they interacted with clients, of which there was a steady stream, and they were profession, pleasant and very helpful. I offered to buy some product, or get my salesgirl a gift, which she adamantly refused. I figure that best way to thank them was to write a honest review on yelp. I have shopped Cos Bar for many years at several of their locations and have never had a bad experience. I can't thank them enough! read more

I tried multiple times to get in touch with Cos Bar about doing my wedding makeup - I called and went in person. It took them well over two weeks to call me back and no one even left a voicemail. Terrible customer service. If you are considering using them for an event, you should reconsider. Any business that can't even call a potential customer back in a timely fashion is not dependable at all and I wouldn't trust them with my wedding appointment. read more

Where do I begin? I love Cos Bar. My mom, sisters and I have been getting make up and perfume here for years. This is probably the last place that will still do your make up for free while you search for the perfect shadows. These gals know their make up so it was no question I wanted them to do my make up for my wedding. I called 7 months in advance but they were totally booked. Well 1 week before my wedding I had to fire the make up artist I had hired from Denver. I called Cos Bar and talked to Dawn about my situation. She said "we will get this worked out. We will ensure your make up is done on your wedding day". Sure enough Dawn and Michele came to my rescue and reworked their schedule so that they could do 7 girls make up with a week notice. Dawn and Michele did more than an incredible job. Honestly, I cannot express how beautiful we all looked. So natural, so pretty, so "I want them to do my face every day". Dawn even let me keep her lipstick so I could have it throughout the wedding day. The mother of the bride and all bridesmaids were just as happy too. Not only are these two very talented, the best of the best in regard to make up, they are so sweet and wonderful to work with. They truly went out of their way to come through for me.
