From Left to Right - Bluepoint, Beau Soliel, Kumoto and 1 more I can't remember!

I was walking around Arthur Avenue and saw a sign that made my soul start to shudder with anxious anticipation, "Oyster Bar." I was visiting, so couldn't take any of the delicious fish home from the inside market, but we stood outside and ate oysters from Massachusetts, Connecticut, West Coast and Canada...on the sidewalk, at their outdoor oyster/clam bar! The prices of oysters were competitive, but the real deal was on the clams on the half shell. The employee shucked them as we waited and there were all kinds of sauces to try, as well as lemon. Highly recommended, and delicious!

Delicious fresh seafood here, staff is EXTREMELY knowledgeable if you have questions on any fish in the market. The standing oyster bar is a must when you are visiting Arthur ave, with the shrimp cocktail being a favorite amongst my friends.

Incredibly fresh seafood. Just had half a dozen cherry stone clams and half a dozen oysters with my wife at the street stand, and we were blown away by the quality and taste. You absolutely must try this place if you stop by Arthur Avenue.

Finally, a place near home .that means I don't need to go to City Island to eat oyster and clams. affordable prices. the guys taking care of you outside they very nice .you can pay cash or credit card . it's outside in the street. Remember it's a fish market so you will eat it outside standing up .....eat and go.

    Blue point oysters!

Amazing fish market, some really beautiful seafood. One of my favorite New York experiences is having some blue point oysters at the sidewalk raw bar, right on Arthur Ave. One of my must stops whenever I come home for a visit...

    Half-Dozen clams , w/ 4 cocktail shrimp!

Was shopping on Arthur Ave . And we stop by this outdoor seafood stand in front of the store ! We ordered, half-Dozen blue point Clams , half dozen Oysters, and 4 shrimp w/ cocktail sauce on the side ! The clams were very good and yummy too! They shucked them right in front of you! There's no SEATING area , just stand and eat . The oysters, seem a but watery, so I had to drain mine for every bite or slurp I took ! . The shrimps are basically on Ice . But there are tasty w/ the cocktail sauce on them .. my bill was $28 total , maybe they add tax on . But overall the meal was good ... they have paper towels on the table as napkins for use. We didn't go inside the store to buy anything else but what was outside. And we paid in cash .

Besides being a great fish market with good prices and friendly service, you can eat fresh oysters right outside ... on the street! ... at their outdoor bar area where they have lemon, hot sauce, cocktail sauce and other things to dress your oysters as you slam them down! That is about as old school street fair as you can get. I highly recommend.

Love this place. I've come here multiple times already and i am always happy with the quality of the seafood. It's always fresh and tasty. I always buy oysters from here. The gentleman inside will open them up for you with no problem. I normally take them to go which i like better. Out of the dozen i get, there's always two or three with pieces of shell inside. So i take my time ensuring there's none before i eat it. But they are so tasty. Although it's wintertime, the outdoor bar is still there where you can add hot sauce, cocktail sauce and others to your oysyers if you wish to eat them on the spot. They serve them with big wedges of lemon as well. Love that. Overall i really love this place. It's really clean. Everyone inside is so friendly. They have a variety of fresh items. The prices are good. I will continue to visit.

Bough fresh scallops and specifically asked one of the gentlemen that I needed fresh Scallops, @ approx $20 per pound which is NYC standard even at Lobster Place. However, the scallops were not fresh, they were soapy, bitter, and did not sear properly I could not even add them to a cioppino. I hope I can change this review when I visit this fish market in the summer, being that I grew up in the area and love my local businesses.

Clams omg so good and fresh

This is a place you go for the experience -- when you're eating freshly shucked oysters on the sidewalk at Cosenza's, you don't feel like you're in the Bronx anymore. The quality is great, and the service is friendly and informative. Like everywhere on Arthur Ave, COVID protocols are a little lax, which is worth knowing before you go. That said, for an entirely outdoor experience (or to buy seafood to go), it shouldn't be written off.

Real fish stores are rapidly disappearing. Long hours, heavy loads, good chance of an injury from spines, small profit margins; nowadays everyone wants a cushy job. Here's the reasons for 5 stars: it's clean, it has never smelled fishy when you walk in, the fishes eyes are clear (a sign of being really fresh), there's an exceptional selection of fish, shellfish, and crustaceans, they'll clean the fish to your request, if you ask, on a hot summer day, to double bag the fish with ice in the outer bag it's gladly done for you. They know their products. There's lemons, sauces, and vegetables. They can create a cooked meal for you; pick out what you want. They do the rest. You know it has to be great if it's always crowded.
