Did a little self guided food tour of the stores of Artur Avenue this past Saturday morning with a bunch of friends and this was our seventh stop. Once one of my friends finished purchasing some fish to bring home for dinner, we all bellied up to their outdoor stand for some clam and oysters on the half shell. The owner even brought out some raw tuna for us to sample. Delicious.

Great place for seafood! Hubby heard about this place when he was watching The Kitchen with me :p You can have some fresh oysters, clams and shrimp cocktail outside of the storefront. Inside the store, there are lots of seafood selection - everything looks so fresh and the prices are pretty good too!

It's the little Italy in the city but it's in the bronx (thank God for Arthur ave), every now and again I get in my moods for some raw clams and is a must that I get them from this spot. There prepared outside, fresh opened and ready to eat. Its super tangy and sweet and it get me on a seafood high everytime. Come here for clams! #1

Came here for some raw clams and Oysters. Very fresh, yummy and shucked well. No grit. Will come back when I'm in the area.4stars cause I wish there was a stool or something to sit on.

Fresh street raw bars, one of the main reasons why my husband and I have been dying to go visit Arthur Ave. We found out about Randazzo's from chowhound and were not disappointed. The oysters and clams were huge and fresh; the sea urchin was delicious. There was something about the overall experience that was really enjoyable. The place was clean, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the seafood was top of the line. We were there on a rainy saturday afternoon and there was no line, but we've heard that there are times when there is a line down the street with patrons waiting for their fresh shucked seafood. We are now addicted and will be returning to visit Randazzo's again.

When I come to Arthur Avenue we usually meet here to share a few dozen Blue Point oysters and clams on the half shell. The shellfish outside is served on stand up tables or small sit down tables. The oysters are my favorite. Inside you will find king crab, mussels, clams, calamari, fresh fish, and octopus. I start outside with the oysters and then come inside to buy very fresh fish to cook later at home.

Real fish stores are rapidly disappearing. Long hours, heavy loads, good chance of an injury from spines, small profit margins; nowadays everyone wants a cushy job. Here's the reasons for 5 stars: it's clean, it has never smelled fishy when you walk in, the fishes eyes are clear (a sign of being really fresh), there's an exceptional selection of fish, shellfish, and crustaceans, they'll clean the fish to your request, if you ask, on a hot summer day, to double bag the fish with ice in the outer bag it's gladly done for you. They know their products. There's lemons, sauces, and vegetables. They can create a cooked meal for you; pick out what you want. They do the rest. You know it has to be great if it's always crowded. The fishmongers here really know their stuff and can even guide you into which oysters or clams you might enjoy the most. Now IF you can tear yourself away from the shellfish outside...you will find a huge market inside with incredibly fresh fish and seafood and knowledgable fishmongers. Everything was incredibly fresh, briny, and full of flavor. They offer different toppings like vinegar and hot sauce, and we enjoyed them at one of the high-top tables outside, just steps away from where the seafood is displayed. Prices were fair (around $3 per oyster), and they do take credit cards, which made the stop even easier. Between the quality, the setup, and the energy of Arthur Avenue, this was an excellent start to our crawl. Would absolutely return on my next visit.
