I had a bad experience with a nurse on 4/17/2024. I am receiving wound care treatment for an ulcer…read moreon my stump (amputated leg) and my good leg. I was in my wheelchair and rolled to the door to greet the nurse when she arrived. Then, I wheeled to the back of the house where my treatment occurs. This effort raises my blood pressure. I have been advised by my doctors to have everyone wait 5 minutes before measuring my BP to get a good measurement. The nurse tried to measure my BP immediately after I stopped wheeling, so I asked her to wait. She refused and insisted on measuring my BP immediately, so I asked again for her to wait and she said that she didn't want to argue with me. I calmly stated that I am paying for this service and she should leave if she would not respect my request. She then left. Her aggressive tone and inappropriate behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable. On 4/19/2024 I have been informed that I have been discharged. To avoid liability for patient abandonment, Advanced Home Health Services is slandering my reputation saying that I (one legged senior citizen in a wheelchair) made them feel unsafe. My wife is always there for my visits and did not see my request to wait as inappropriate. I felt unsafe having someone trying to force their will on me. A nurse with Advanced said that my request was reasonable and should not have caused this situation. Now Advanced is trying to find an alternative health care provider to avoid the charge of patient abandonment. I have filed a complaint with the state attorney general.

When I asked what was happening (with 6 other folks in the waiting room) they "didn't have any rooms available". As an HCP I can confidently say, if my patients had to wait that long with no communication regarding the situation I don't think our doors would still be open. Not sure how this facility is making it. Walked out and regret not doing it sooner.

That company's aids were nearly useless and caused my mom (my dad's primary caretaker) more stress than not having any aid at all. The second time my dad was hospitalized, I researched and called around and decided to try Lonestar. I encouraged my mom to give it another try. Lonestar's aid (Marci) and nurse (Dorothy) are exceptional. I would give them more stars if I could. They do an amazing job caring for my dad and have reduced my mom's stress enormously. They are incredibly helpful, caring and hard working which is not easy to find.

Vulnerable and deserving seniors are dependent on this company when it is clear they are only in business to collect Medicare and insurance premiums. I think there needs to be an audit by state or federal authorities for possible senior abuse and business malpractice. Come on people, we deserve better. 1. Terrible business practices using a complicated telephone transfer system that requires long waits and unresponsive or incompetent personnel. 2. Equipment requests are not handled efficiently and with no accountability when unfulfilled, leaving medical needs of patients lacking. 3. Physicians prescriptions are lost and patients are told to "get another one". 4. The company is too big and unable to deliver quality service. It is almost impossible to speak to anyone with any authority to fix things.
