Food: We honestly picked Mar7aba mostly because it was the closest place to meet up with a friend…read morewho lives nearby, but it ended up being one of the biggest surprises I've had in a while. The cakes here are incredible. My husband and I ordered the Iraqi Karak Tea, Hot Lime Tea, Biscoff Cake, and Pistachio Chocolate Cake. The hot lime tea was warm, comforting, and had a slight tartness that I really enjoyed. The only thing I would note is that it may not be the ideal pairing with their desserts because the tea itself is also fairly sweet. As for the cakes, both were fantastic. The Biscoff Cake was honestly one of the best cakes I've ever eaten. It was rich without being too greasy, perfectly balanced, and the Biscoff flavor came through beautifully. The Pistachio Chocolate Cake was also a huge winner, with a great combination of nutty pistachio and decadent soft chocolate flavors. We came for a casual meetup and left talking about the desserts the entire drive home. Price: Prices were very reasonable considering the quality. Tea drinks are generally around $4-6, while specialty cakes such as the Biscoff Cake and Pistachio Cake are about $12-14 per slice. Overall, expect to spend around $15-20 per person if you're getting drinks AND dessert, which feels like a great value given how impressive the cakes were. Ambiance: The café has a cozy neighborhood feel and serves as a nice place to sit down, catch up with friends, and enjoy Iraqi tea and desserts. It doesn't try to be overly trendy or flashy, which actually adds to its charm. The focus here is clearly on the drinks, sweets, and hospitality. Service: Servers were friendly and welcoming when getting our order. We felt comfortable hanging out and chatting for a while, and the staff were helpful when answering questions about the menu. Parking: Since it's located in like a strip mall/shopping plaza on Brookhurst, parking was relatively easy and convenient. There's a free outside shared lot in front.

Great coffee and ambiance. I found it odd there were no side station for napkins/straws.

The matcha flavor came through really well, and it had a good balance of sweetness without overpowering the matcha itself. I also tried the Dubai Chewy Cookie because I was curious about the flavor. It was good and definitely fun to try, but personally, I don't think I would pay $8 for it again. For the price, I was expecting a little more from it. Overall, I enjoyed the matcha and would definitely come back for the drinks! The cookie was nice to try once, but the Double Matcha was definitely the highlight for me.

As a barista, I can honestly say Coffee & is one of my favorite matcha spots of all time!…read more My personal favorite is their Banana Pudding Matcha. I know banana isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea because it has such a distinct flavor, but I really love how they construct this drink. You can genuinely taste the banana, and I love that it seems like they use real banana rather than that artificial banana flavor you get at some other cafés. It makes such a difference! I've also tried their coffee, and it's really good! Their coffee has a nice, strong flavor and doesn't taste watered down at all. I feel like they're probably more known for their matcha, but their coffee definitely deserves some love too. I've tried matcha from a lot of different places, including spots in LA, and while everyone has their own preferences, if you're in the Orange County area, I would definitely recommend giving Coffee & a try. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but personally, this is one of my favorite cafés. It has that cute little hole-in-the-wall feeling where you find a place that you just want to keep coming back to. The service is also amazing! Everyone I've interacted with has been super nice and welcoming, which honestly makes the experience even better. As for the pastries, they're really good too! They'll warm them up for you, and they have the cutest cookies that look like little cartoon characters. They sometimes have seasonal cookies as well, which I think is such a cute touch. Overall, I really love how much personality this café has. If you're a matcha lover in OC, I definitely recommend stopping by and trying it for yourself!

It has a lot of personality with cute murals, their message/purpose on a big board, and coffee beans ground for your education and to be able to smell the grounds before purchase. I only knocked it down from 5 because of the parking more than anything. Menu variation: 5 They have some classics and some fun options. They also have a variety of flavored creams for topping putting them in the 5 ranking for me. Customer Service: 5 I asked a lot of questions upon ordering and the staff was friendly, laughing, having a good time, and helpful. Love to see that in a workplace! Drink quality: 5 I got the iced Dalgona with Cream top with an add shot (it already came as an oat milk base) and my husband got the iced Spanish latte with oat milk and an add shot. Both drinks were DELICIOUS! The cream top was an absolute delight, the little pieces of honeycomb made for a fun little sip and crunchy surprise once and a while, and both coffees were smooth and balanced. Food quality: N/A Price worth it: 5 It's becoming more and more commonplace with our coffee orders that we're paying about $9 a drink with our modifications. This was no different, but since I didn't have to modify the oatmilk it was just a little cheaper than other spots. We will be back if/when in the area! Enjoy your own culinary adventure!

My…read morehusband and I walked in and stood there waiting to be helped, but no one greeted us or acknowledged us. We felt uncomfortable with the staring and the overall lack of warmth, and after standing there for a while, we decided to leave. What made it especially disappointing is that we are both minorities and genuinely wanted to support a new minority-owned business in the neighborhood. Instead, we walked away feeling completely unwelcome. Before leaving, I brought the experience up to someone who worked there, and the only response I received was, "I'm so sorry." There was no attempt to understand what happened or make us feel differently about the experience. It's really unfortunate that in 2026, people can still walk into a business and feel unwelcome because of the way they are treated. Customer service and simply acknowledging people who walk through your door should be the bare minimum. I really wanted to support this new neighborhood business, but unfortunately, I'll stick with places like Smoking Tiger where we have always felt welcomed and treated with kindness.
