If you are looking for perfectly executed, authentic baklava, this is the spot. The phyllo dough was incredibly flaky and crisp. It's sweet, but well-balanced enough that you can actually taste the quality of the nuts and the hint of honey. The staff was super welcoming and guided me through all the different desserts.

I love their cakes here! Friends and I dropped in on a late Saturday night for a sweet treat and I was so pleasantly surprised by their cakes. It was soft and airy and not too sweet. I like that this place opens late and it has a great ambiance for sitting and enjoying tea and desserts. Can't wait to go back again!

Wow spontaneous date night wandering around town. After dinner my boyfriend and I looked up dessert spots in the area and decided to go to Mar7aba Iraqi Café in Anaheim as it was the most unique option. The cashier in the front lacked training. Poor knowledge of her products. I asked if any of their beverages were de-caf as it was already late when we came. I was specifically intrigued by something another customer ordered and I asked if there was any caffeine, she said no. Then the owner or manager comes out and was like NO, I told you there was. There's actually A LOT OF CAFFEINE in that. Awkward! I wanted to extra support the business to try things on my first visit so I did settle on the Lime Tea ($5) for a noncaffeinated beverage. For the dessert they had a whole case of different looking baklava but the cashier couldn't really tell me what was different about them. It can't just be the shape right?? Maybe add some labels for your staff if there are training barriers. I ended up just picking a random piece of Baklava ($8). We also got a Dubai Chocolate Cheesecake ($14.99). I'm looking at my receipt now and I see a 3% credit card charge. I'm mad because there was no warning of this CC charge. I had cash I could have used if I was warned. The serving was really clumsy too. The owner or manager put the items on the tray but instead of just handing it to me, she put it towards the cashier to hand to me. But the cashier was busy helping another customer. I'm not a fan of the delays... it really would have been easier if she just handed it to me. Her staff is clearly struggling already. The lime tea has a herbal medicinal taste that I like but I don't think it's for everyone. The baklava was a bit stale. Not sure if that's because we came later in the day. It tasted okay, but just stale and lacking the flakiness that I enjoy in a typical baklava. I was literally thinking they might benefit from making less variety and preserving it better. As for the Dubai chocolate cheesecake, it was our favorite from a taste point of view. From a pastry point of view, the top layer is too thick in consistency. It could be a bit smoother. The middle layer gets smushed from being too soft as you eat it. Oh well... still tasty. I want to like the business. I would like to come back in the future and try other items, enjoy some caffeine during the daytime, and hope their staff is better trained by the time I come back.

Cute cafe with cute desserts! Went here for an after dinner dessert. Ended up grabbing a pistachio and a raspberry cake. Was debating whether to get a drink - we asked for what was uncaffeinated and was actually offered drinks that definitely did have caffeine in it. We opted for water and our cakes. The pistachio cake was fantastic - chocolate and pistachios - can't go wrong with that, and there's the texture of bits of pistachios that work well. The raspberry cake ... a bit of a miss for me - the amount of raspberry icing was a bit much that it ended up being a bit medicinal for our taste. Would come back - perhaps will try some baklava or cheesecake next time around.

I rarely give 5 stars for a cafe but this place is so worth it! We ordered a biscoff cake and iced americano and they were AMAZING! Iced americano was not watered down which I loved. Biscoff cake is a must to try!!! Another great thing is that the person who was working was super nice and welcoming. It is located inside a small plaza so there are free parking spaces. Will definitely go back to try more of their delicious cakes

Cute spot you'd never expect to find on the corner of Brookhurst & Orangethorpe behind the gas station. I've seen this little place pop up on my feed a few times and finally decided to come sit and have a tea and pastry on a cold evening. They still had a decent selection of cakes and baklava at 6pm. Ordered the raspberry cake which was perfect for two. Also got the lime tea (first time trying a Turkish tea). I'm honestly not sure what it was...it was quite sweet and tangy while super earthy. Reminded me of Yerba mate with a ton of honey and lime. (I could be super off but that's my profile take on it). Honestly this is a cute spot to pull over and get a coffee or tea and get a little treat. It was very comfortable on a rainy day and the presentation of items was well done too.

First time visiting this Iraqi café as we were on the lookout for a new spot to kick off the new year and we're so glad we found it. The café has a cozy, warm ambiance with warm lighting. It's an intimate space with about 8 tables, first come first serve (no reservations), which adds to its charm and relaxed vibe. The drink menu is simple and thoughtfully curated, featuring Iraqi tea and coffee. We tried the Iraqi tea, a latte, and a few desserts, most notably the chocolate raspberry, which was absolutely outstanding. Hands down one of the best desserts we've had. The Belgian chocolate shell with a raspberry filling inside was rich, balanced, and not overly sweet. Truly impressive. All the cakes are made by the owner, and you can really taste the care and quality in each bite. The Iraqi tea was flavorful and a bit strong for our preference, but still enjoyable. Next time, we'll ask for a little hot water to dilute it slightly, personal preference more than anything. As we were leaving, we had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Hiba, who was incredibly warm and welcoming. That personal touch really elevated the entire experience. We're already looking forward to coming back and we're excited to check out their shawarma spot opening just a couple of doors down in about two weeks (same ownership!). Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a cozy café with amazing desserts and genuine hospitality.

It was our first time here. We ordered the pistachio and raspberry chocolate cakes and both were delicious along with a pot of Iraqi cardamom tea. The place is a little small but nicely decorated. The service was friendly.

The americano was a perfect lightly roasted coffee aroma with no acidic bite. And the toasted marshmallow coffee has the perfect mixture of the coffee still being there and the sweetness not overpowering the drink. No notes for the biscoff cake. It's a 10/10, and would definitely comeback to try their other desserts!

Lotus Biscoff Tres Leches (5/5): sweet and very good, cake had a smooth texture, biscoff wasn't too overpowering, had the perfect balance of flavors Price: $10.99 Iced Banana Matcha (1/5): could taste a lot of the matcha powder, tasted completely like soybean milk, no banana flavor, not worth the price Price: $8 for matcha, $1 extra for oat milk, $0.75 to add banana, Total: $9.75 I got an ube cheesecake ($13.99) to-go for my mom and she thought it was really good. I recommend trying the cakes. My friend ordered the lime tea ($5) and liked it. She said it was very citrusy and had a herbal taste. However, I tried it and the lime was too strong and tasted a little like medicine. (1/5) My total was $43.99 for four items, which is very pricey. There is also a 3% credit card surcharge that they should have mentioned. Not sure if I would come back because it's too expensive for their cake and tea. The service didn't feel very welcoming either.

This place is just beyond. The desserts here are so insanely good. They're on the more expensive side but so worth it, you'll see once you take a bite. They pair well with the bitterness of the Turkish coffee. We ordered the pistachio cake and biscoff cake. The pistachio cake was our favorite. The chocolate interior is decadent and creamy and pistachio layer was thick and divine. I loved the pieces of actual pistachio layered into the cake. The biscoff cake was also rich and creamy. This was on the sweeter side. Would love to come back some day to try the cheesecakes!

I'm glad I finally got the chance to try Mar7aba cafe, I had seen a few videos on TikTok that enticed me and I'm glad to report it was well worth it! The raspberry cake was tart and not overly sweet, bought it thinking I'd take a few bites and have the rest for later but I inhaled that bad boy. The tea was yummy as well but the dessert was my favorite. The staff were nice and the ambiance is cozy and relaxing. There's a parking lot with plenty of spots.

    Nasiha A.

I came here in the afternoon with a friend to catch up and grab something sweet. There was plenty of parking, which was a nice surprise. As soon as we walked in, it felt like stepping into a beautiful Middle Eastern sanctuary. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The space was cozy and full of Arabic decor, with lots of seating. The cake selection was amazing!! SO many mini cakes that looked perfect and hard to choose from! We ended up trying the biscoff cake and a slice of the Dubai chocolate cheesecake. Both were delicious. We also got karak chai, both hot and iced. It had a strong, spiced flavor and was creamy and comforting. We stayed for a while chatting and relaxing. I really recommend this place and will definitely be coming back. I love Arabic-style coffee shops, and I'm happy to see more of them opening!

The self service, pre-made lunch bentos, sandos and sushi area is fine, but once you need assistance from a worker, it starts getting ridic. How so? You speak to whomever is attempting to assist you OVER and UNDER a twenty-four year old counter area that holds the pastries and/or through a tiny hole in the cabinets. You can hardly make eye contact with the person, because all the pastry is in between where you are standing and where they are standing. Some people are tall, some short, but regardless, there is NO WAY to have a conversation with them. They are trying to see what exactly you are possibly pointing to in the case, but as noted, you're talking thru a case of pastry. This is also true at the Fountain Valley location, where they only have a very small counter to check out with many people standing in line trying to have someone collect their order from the back. Maybe also ask WHY there is never any KINAKO donuts? I was there at 11 am and I got THE LAST ONE! If these are so popular, why don't you make enough to sell throughout the day? Every other time I've been here, you were already SOLD OUT! SMH HAS ANYONE HERE SEEN THE SELF SERVICE process at 85 degrees? All their pastry is individually wrapped and you calmly walk through the SELF SERVICE pastry area with a tray and tongs to help yourself. If you'd like to pass the person in front of you, it's easy and doable because there is plenty of room and it doesn't make anyone feel like you are taking "cuts". Once you get to the end, the cashier totals up your tray and puts it in a bag or box for you. Done & Done. Let me reiterate that your pastry and food are all above par and I know you've been in business since 2002 and let me commend you for 24 years of service, but it's time to CHANGE IT UP to a more user friendly process. It's not appealing to anyone in this busy day and age that there is a line out the door, ONLY BECAUSE THE PROCESS INSIDE NEEDS HELP! It's also more sanitary that the pastry and breads are wrapped ahead of time as I saw a fly inside the case today. Ugh.

BEST DUBAI SPOT IN OC whenever I'm craving dubai chocolate,…read moreI know chocolate spot got me bc they're open until 2am Dubai tres leches (9/10) Usually it's 10/10 but I think today the cake didn't have enough time to soak in the milk. They don't skimp out on chocolate and kataifi at all Cinnamon toast crepe (9/10) Sooo good! There's also banana inside which helped with the sweetness. The cinnamon cereal was nice and crunchy! Make sure you bring lots of water to drink bc the sweetness feels like 1000%

first time trying the chocolate spot and everything is so decadent, rich, and yummy !!…read more this place definitely satisfies the cravings for a sweet treat and is also open super late. inside is nice and modern with plenty of seating, and their menu is also displayed super big and right at the front !! though, customer service is almost nonexistent or at least when i went. soo ordering through the qr code is fastest. as for the items, we got the dubai chocolate mini pancakes and added strawberries as well as the ferrero shake. the mini pancakes were the best and they are super generous with their toppings. i definitely recommend adding the strawberries since it gave a refreshing taste. the ferrero milkshake on the other hand was super thicc. however, i wish the chocolate could be mixed in more. overall, this is a solid place and i can see why it gets packed easily. for me, i would come once in awhile because it can get pricy, but that is because their portions are pretty big !! i wish they would offer half portions.
