Three words: Dollar Jello Shots. These are fun when with a group because you could feel baller and buy a round for everyone without going broke. Also, the bartenders are always very friendly and the other drinks aren't too pricey. My only complaint is the food isn't too impressive. Great dive in Westmoreland where the taps are as plentiful as the felt -- or was it crushed velvet? -- paintings are countless. Parking around side streets is plentiful. The beer was half the price of a bar around the corner whose identity I won't disclose. read more

First things first, Tierney is the dopest bartender in the universe. From being super friendly to knowing my name by heart, it all points to great customer service. Kurt rocks too, but definitely second place. Good bar food, amazing music, and cheap drinks. Also hip to the younger crowd contrary to the old nature of Sellwood. I came her with one of my best friend's one afternoon after lunch since we were looking for a dive to grab a quick drink. The place is pretty much a dump, but we weren't looking for anything fancy so it worked out. The two best things about this bar were the friendly bartender and the Jello Shots ($1!). This is totally my kind of place to chill out with no judgment. read more

The first time i went to this bar i had a horrid time, the bartender was rude and very pushy. She claimed to be the owner, but i'm pretty sure restaurant owners wouldn't be rude and off putting to customers trying to spend money. I knew i shouldn't have trusted someone with a side ponytail. Nevertheless, my buddy wanted to meet at Cosmos for a drink last night. I as glad to see a different face behind the bar. Well at first i was happy to see that, by the end of my time there i was singing a different tune. Our bartender was more concerned with smoking cigarettes with he friends than she was in giving my friend and i our drinks. Then when we asked for our tabs some how, my friend who had two rum and cokes had tab of $8.25. I guess one run and coke there costs $4.125 cents. Nothing redeemable about either if my two experiences there. Probably the worst bar in the area. Its my suggestion to go to one of the other bars in the area if you find yourself thirty in selwood. read more

The atmosphere was nice for the most part, except for the really loud blonde bartender talking smack about customers that come in. She was speaking so loudly that we couldn't have a decent conversation over her. The drinks were light and my whiskey sour tasted like straight pineapple juice. I would not recommend just because of the staff. read more

My Bestie and I came in for a couple drinks and to play a little on the Oregon Lottery machines. We both end up on a little winning streak. The bartender(who I think is the owner) was ok about it on the1st couple tickets we cashed out, which she got huge tip off one of them but anymore more tickets after that, she coped an attitude making comments while she is emptying the machines for money "going to have to rob Peter to pay Paul" and if we try and cash out anymore, she will have to write us a check. Basically trying to discourage is from playing "there" anymore. I have never been at an establishment where the customers were made to feel guilty or bad for winning, which doesn't happen very often. It is not like she pays out alot anyway as she has NO platinum games. If she cant afford to pay out, then she should reconsider having machines. We will not go back there again. This isn't the 1st we thought she was unfriendly. read more

Great dive bar!! They have a large selection and some great deals. $1 Jell-O shots are my favorite! Plus they are always open!

Why didn't I learn my lesson after the first two times I was here! On my third visit I got the same bad service, same watered down drinks, and the same bartender ( I think the owner ) from a previous visit just kept spewing her personal garbage to another customer loudly at the bar, who I could see was cringing while trying not to be rude having to listen. The customer was probably just trying not to get even worse everything by listening. If you work hard for your money, and don't like getting ripped off, this is not the place for you. It would be better to buy scratch off tickets or buy something on ebay with the money you would have spent here, at least then you have a chance to get something satisfying in return. Most of the customers look shady, thank the stars I never brought a date with me. I'm done, never again, at least not until it changes hands, again. Shouldn't be long now... read more

After the last couple of July reviews, as a "shady" regular customer, I felt the need to chime in. The Cosmo Lounge is a great bar owned by bartenders who've seen just about everything PDX has to offer when it comes to serving bar patrons over the last couple of decades, and that experience shows with good drinks and good service. And that's what keeps me coming back. If that makes me "shady", then I'm "shady". Moreover, I'm thinking those of a contrasting luminous character would do well to frequent any one of the many cookie cutter corporate bars in this town where it's policy to smile at arrogant stupidity and shrug off a miserly tip. Here, if you act like an annoying prima donna you will be treated like one. These ladies have paid their fair share of dues, having worked for various whiny prats over the years ---you know, like you, but with money--- which is why they bought a bar a few years back. And they didn't get to where they could buy a bar by scamming customers on their tips, 10 dollars at a time. I like it here. My friends like it here. If you don't, by all means, don't come back. One less self-important twerp makes for an even more welcoming atmosphere. read more

I didn't even have/use The Yelp App before today. I specifically downloaded it as I was unable to post otherwise. I met some friends for drinks here this afternoon. We ordered three pitchers, a coke, hot dog and a bag of chips. First, I ordered the all beef dog. I was thinking about adding chili. I asked if there was any pork in it. The bartender was unsure. So I ordered the veggie chili. They had none. When the bill came, the three pitchers of Sessions (rung up as Blue Moon - ' bcuz there was no button for Sessions) totaled $52.50. Yep $17.50 a pitcher for one of the least expensive craft beers. This on top of the $6.50 all beef dog, the $3.00 coke and the $1.50 bag of chips (that price I understood). I have lived in a lot of places and I have NEVER paid $17.50 for a pitcher. Even in Vegas. If this doesn't scare you off, then please visit the Norovirus tainted bathroom. I would rather have pissed in a Honey Bucket. Overpriced pathetic establishment. read more
