The replacement screens they use for iPhone 6 have one big difference from the original screens. You cannot see the screen if you wear polarized sunglasses. It just looks completely black. Even at the brightest settings, you would have to take off your sunglasses to view the screen. This is annoying if you try to change music or use the gps feature of your phone in the car and need to take off your sunglasses before you can do it. It noticed this because I can see my personal phone which is an iPhone 7's original screen with my sunglasses on. Unfortunately, I can no longer view my work phone with the replacement screen anymore with sunglasses. I guess you get what you pay for. read more

After cracking my phone's screen, I looked up the repair service with the best reviews and found COSMO. Initially, I was really pleased with the first visit. The glass looked great and the service took much less time than other places. However, an hour or so later, my phone started to act like it was possessed. Random apps would open, texts would type out gibberish on their own, etc. (Although my screen was cracked, it had no ghost touch issues.) I called and was instructed to bring the phone back in, which I did the next day. The store rep was really friendly and told me that I had probably been given a screen from a previous order, but a new batch was arriving in the next 10-15 minutes. This batch wouldn't have the same problem. I wandered around Paseo Colorado for an hour and returned to COSMO. Again, super satisfied with the speed and everything looked fine until I returned home and the ghost reappeared in my phone. At this point, I was pretty exasperated. I called COSMO and explained that the problem was still happening. Long story short, I had a couple conversations with Jessica over the phone. I was told the same story: bad batch, bring it in again. Except, my life can't be spent driving the 30-40 minutes to Pasadena, waiting an hour, driving back home only to find the problem persists. I felt COSMO could give me no reassurance that I wasn't wasting my time nor did they offer me any kind of compensation for my wasted time. I found both reps I met to be really friendly, but I expected the them to exercise some more creativity in thinking of a solution given the negative experience I had. Just came back from getting my iPhone 6 fixed at the Pasadena store. John was great, fixed it in a snap, everything works now, even though Apple said it can't be fixed (Genius Bar?). He fixed the microphone next to the headphone jack, the charger port, and the issue I had with typing the letter 'Y'. Don't go to Apple ... come here instead! I came in earlier today to repair a damaged screen in my Nexus 5. I had looked up the price for the replacement parts on Amazon; it was $50 for a screen and digitizer. When I went in to get my phone fixed the person at the counter quoted a price of $199 but he said he'd give me a discount to $169. I thought the price was outrageous but consented because I needed the fix quick. They went to the back and realized that they didn't have the parts so they told me to pay up front and that they'd order the parts and fix it in three days when the parts came in. When they saw that I was hesitating they lowered the price to $159. I immediately called another store nearby and they did the fix for $110 in 30 minutes. Be educated on what you're paying for. Just because I looked like I didn't know how to work a phone does not mean that I don't know my electronics and that I'll overpay for service. It becomes very obvious that they're overcharging when the front desk employee offers a $40 discount within 5 minutes of my stepping through the door. read more

My heroes. I damaged my baby - iPad2. Don't put your iPad on the washing machine when it's on -_- I cracked my entire glass part of the iPad. It still worked but it was super cracked. Called and google every place and noticed this place near my work. YES! I called and dropped off my iPad and picked it up the next day! SAVIORS! It looks BEAUTIFUL! I got it for SO MUCH CHEAPER than what Apple quoted me. Apple quoted me $250 (+tax). This place... $110. WHAAAAAAA... YES. After COSMOS response I'm even more upset .... I did not "beg" for a service to be done that could possibly be done elsewhere. My model was the regular Samsung S6 which further proves the lack of attention to detail to the customer. I asked for a refund. You refused. This was prior to the repair being made. I was short on time, so I didn't escalate the issue since it was obvious COSMO would not even try to alleviate the issue. The business is just that, you're providing a service and expectations will be held with high standards from your customers. For you to respond and point fingers only reaffirms my previous review and even hinders my experience even further. I had options, I called and made what I thought was the proper due diligence. Your lack of follow up or empathy to a customers situation is not surprising after this experience. Had I been made aware that the screen could crack from the get go, I still would have made the repair request. The dissatisfaction comes from the lack of disclosure or customer service. I got tired of watching my son Candy-Crushing on his janky SG3, yeah the same one he claimed he never sat on. Strange but I consider the smartphone to be an extension of a person so a cracked screen just doesn't seem very presentable. Then through some fortuitous timing after a bunch of weeks had gone by without doing anything about it, I had come across a Groupon offer for a vendor in Pasadena called Cosmo with good reviews on Yelp... They fix all kinds of Apples and tablets but the Groupon was specifically for 4/4Ss ($59), S3/S4s ($79), and Note 2/3s ($90). To me, $79 is close to my threshold for what I would consider paying to repair a smartphone glass so it doesn't seem too cheap to me, but without insurance and with another year before the phone is up for nenewal, I thought that going with a brick and mortar service was the way to go. After calling to set up an appointment (with the Groupon) we showed up with phone in tow. They tell you the standard disclaimer that something may go wrong when they remove the cracked glass and that they can't fix it, but other than that they told us they wanted 3 hours to fix it and actually got it done in half that time. These guys are AMAZING! Friday I dropped my iPhone 6 and it shattered into pieces. I literally had one hour till I had to leave for a weekend of wedding festivities, (hello! I busted charging port on my cell by trying to fix phone by myself via "Internet instructions." The insertion plug/ end of the charger did not enter the charging port of the phone correctly: it kept getting stuck or askew. A website told me to crimp the plug-in end in the middle with tweezers a bit. This worked for a good while. It wouldn't fit after a while so I foolishly took matters into my own hands and played w the contact staple-like tines inside the port. BIG mistake. FATAL. I avoided fixing phone for a while due to confusion as to what to do, sickness, and awareness of cost. I saw great reviews on Yelp so thought I'd gove it a go: "How much to fix?" I asked. "Ninety, " manager said, "we have to cut corner part of phone off to get to port and then re-solder, that is why it is so expensive." "Whew... Too much for me," I said with dismay. "An alternative would be not to fix the port and just use batteries. You can buy a battery charger for twenty or so - since you can't use port on phone anymore to charge." (I already had one so didn't need to buy another one.) We then put good battery in cell to diagnose further phone but screen kept looping and I could never actually get into the android. They said screen needed master re-set. They had a machine in back that could do it. "Ok.How much?" "Thirty." "Okay," I said, although I felt somewhat suspicious inside. I waited ten minutes or so while they fixed it. After it was done, the assistant was super helpful, patient, kind, and efficient in getting my phone contacts and screen re-configured. I didn't know why but I found myself really reluctant to pay but, I did. I said an enthusiastic thank you and good bye, and left. After I left, I had a vague recollection that at one time T-mobile had told me they would do a master re-set in their store or via phone instructions on their phones for their customers free of charge, Sure enough, I called: "Basiically push three buttons to do it. Takes three minutes or so." Livid me went back to store. I asked different assistant if I could see machine that re-sets the phone. "No employees allowed in back," I was very hastily told. "Can you take a picture of it for me then?" I suggested. "No, we aren't allowed. Do you want to talk to manager?" "Yes." I explained to manager I felt I'd been had. He said that I had wanted information and that he had given it to me. I indignantly re-stated how it doesn't take ten minutes, there is no machine, and my ignorance was taken advantage of, and I'd put this on Yelp if I didn't get my money back. I would have left it at that and not written on Yelp after I finally got my money back but it was some words on his part about how they normally don't do this and "shouldn't" that changed my mind. I clearly had been taken for an unnecessary ride, so I decided to write this after all in the event it might help another "unawares/ ignorant" consumer. Caveat emptor. Buyer beware!!!!! I think I have the worst luck with cellphones. During a fun, booze-filled, fantasy football draft at my buddies place, my brand new Galaxy S4 somehow slipped out of my shorts and fell from my friends 2nd story balcony on to the sidewalk below. When I retrieved it, it was not a good sight. Phone screen had shattered so bad, all I can see was white particles of broken glass throughout the whole front of the phone. I had just bought an iPhone 6+ off someone, and the digitizer started acting up. I called around 7:30 pm and saw the times on google and it said they closed at 8. When calling Shawn apologized for the mistake on the times and even offered to a free tempered glass for the mistake. I went in and he diagnosed my phone with touch disease within the first minute of looking at the phone. He was so kind to explain what touch disease was and said he can call a colleague of his that may be able to fix it. He didn't want to open up the phone because he didn't want to damage the phone even more. After looking up touch disease on Apples website I got my money back from the person and bought another phone. A week later I cracked my screen and immediately called Cosmo and got a price estimate. Shawn quickly made an appointment for me and when arriving had all the tools ready for the screen replacement. He fixed my screen and I received a free temper glass screen protector, he also helped my younger brother with his screen and placed a screen protector on my younger sisters phone all with in less than 30 minutes. Even though I didn't get any work done the first time I visited this place, having a great customer experience is what led me to this place the second time I had an issue with my iPhone. Came here few weeks ago to get my iphone 4S fixed. Looking at the reviews, it seemed to be a trustworthy place. I was WRONG! I had an issue with the LCD and came to fix that problem. After their diagnostic they said that the back camera is not working as well. they asked if I would want them to fix it for additional charge. So i said yes, because i wanted a working phone with no problems. I went to pick up my phone, but the battery had died so it was charging. they told me that everything was fixed and I paid for their services. My phone was taking a long time to charge, and i needed to move my car so i told them that I will charge it in my car. I was charging my phone in the car thinking that everything is fixed, but then the phone got overheated, and it was in the area where the camera is. After that it just shut down. So i took it back, then they said that something is wrong with the battery. EVEN THOUGH EVERYTHING WAS FINE WITH MY PHONE'S BATTERY. i backed it up on my computer before bringing it in and had no problems with that. the only issue was the LCD. They changed the battery with no cost and assured me , one more time, that my phone is working now. It had 26% charge. I went back in my car and put it to charge. My phone wasn't charging even though it said charging. I took it back again and told them what was happening. How can a professional business tell its customer that the phone was working, when it clearly was not. They just wanted to get it over with and didn't take the time to check if it was actually working. They were closing so they told me to come in the next day to take another look. I went the next day. After 3 hours they told me that they have done everything they could but there is a problem with the motherboard! They gave my money back and said that there wasn't anything they could do to fix it. THEY PRETTY MUCH F**KED UP MY PHONE AND DIDN'T TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY! Later that day, I called to speak with the manager and he told me that he can offer some credit for the store. and of course i said no, after the way they handled my phone. Then he said he will get new batteries in few days and would give me a call back when he does. Also that they can do a water damage diagnostic. So WHEN I TOOK IT TO THEM THE SECOND TIME THEY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING DIFFERENT! WHAT A WASTE OF TIME. So they messed up my phone and didn't even call me back. They are just a small business who is interested in making money and don't care about the customer when they mess up. Cosmo saved me one stressful Sunday afternoon after having accidentally dropped my phone on the floor. I had dropped it many times before that, but maybe this was the floor that was destined to cause the crack- and my screen shattered. It was so bad all I could do was ask Siri to call or look things up for me. Stuck without the ability to browse options on my iPhone, I went home to find a reputable place that wouldn't be too expensive. By the time I got back, it was already 4 pm. I was worried that I wouldn't have time to get to any place worth going to - but luckily Cosmo isn't too far from me, and closes at 6 pm on Sundays. I went straight there and so glad I did! It was fast - only took about 45 minutes (during which I browsed through one of the many cute shops at Paseo Colorado), and they charged me 69.99 for the screen repair on an iPhone 5C. Considering that going through my insurance would have cost more than twice that price, and that my phone was basically unusable in it's current state, I found it a fair exchange! Jorge was very helpful and explained to me exactly what was done to my phone. He also suggested a sturdier case and even gave me a 30-day guarantee in case my phone started to act strangely or I noticed something odd about it's performance. But I haven't had to go back. So far so good and I'm so glad they were able to help me so quickly, and in such a time and cost-efficient manner! If I ever find myself in a similar situation, I'll definitely be heading back there, and might go for the sturdier phone case! read more

While it initially it seemed like a straightforward fix, it ended up requiring about 1 week. Because they had originally promised a 24h turn-around, John refused to accept any payment for the screen and additional labor, despite me protesting and offering many times to compensate them. I had to break my review down into 2 parts. Enjoy! 1. Customer Service: Had an issue at first, but then the assistant manager reached out--all is well beyond expected. I like that this business cares about what a customer says. Plus the cashier was very helpful with directions, and how to get my parking ticket validated (they don't validate). That was very nice of him. They offer some check in discounts, a yelp deal and a like facebook page discount. I was told they don't stack though so be sure to ask--policies change. 5 star service at the end. 2. Repair: They did it quickly, and as promised. They were not the cheapest place (they were 20 bucks more than several other shops I called), but they did have the part I needed in stock. The original price quoted was dropped considerably when I told them what the other shops were charging though which was a nice touch. The repair looks great, and there is only 1 imperfection that I can see that the technician told me was a result of moisture from the fall. Not sure how that happened, but it isn't terribly annoying. They do carry a lot of different things in stock which most repair shops do not, their pricing is higher end (they do offer a warranty with their work of 90 days I think it was though), but the work looks good: 4 stars. Combine the two, strike up an average, and you get 4.5 stars. So I give it a small bump to 5 because I am very happy now. Good luck, and enjoy! read more

I dropped my iPad Mini while getting out of the car from about 6-inches off the ground. I didn't expect it to be broken but sadly the glass was shattered. I called all over the place trying to find someone who would fix them but everyone seems to only fix the regular ipad and iphone. I know its shocking but Cosmo seems like the only place in Los Angeles that actually fixes the iPad Mini. I arrived at their store in Pasadena and was pleasantly surprised by the store front, its really professional and really ads that extra level of comfort when you're dropping off expensive computer equipment. After a little investigation it was surprising to find out that nobody makes a replacement screen for the iPad Mini with cellular. However Cosmo went the extra mile and their awesome technician went the extra mile to make it work perfectly fine. I shopped around and even the Apple store charges hundreds of dollars to fix the iPad mini, luckily I found Cosmo and saved tons of money. read more

Yup! As good as it gets! I came here to get my front screen replaced and the team got it done in less than an hour. The team was respectful and professional. They did not try to up sell me or push me to purchase anything extra. To me, that's a plus. I had my screen replaced before from another shop and I was not 100% satisfied with the results as the screen was flickering. I lived with it anyway for 6 months. On Friday I dropped my Samsung Galaxy S4 from maybe ten feet off the ground and the screen shattered. The phone itself still worked, but the screen glass was broken. On Saturday, I called up COSMO and they told me to drop it off! Also gave me a very reasonable quote over the phone compared to a couple other stores that I called. On Sunday, I called and asked if they could do something special to the phone (replacing the screen with a black screen instead of my original white) and they were happy to do so. Sunday afternoon, an hour before they told me they would be ready, called and said I could come by to pick it up. Went to pick it up, screen was excellently fixed, as if I had a brand new phone! The volume bumper was warped due to the drop, but they fixed it free or charge. The sales people were very nice and helpful as well. After everything was all nice and tidy, they even put on a screen protector for me to prevent future accidents. Needless to say, I would recommend this to everyone, and will definitely be coming back if my phone breaks again (but let's hope not) read more

I stumbled upon a Groupon deal for exactly the repair my phone required, at a price lower than I'd been quoted for the repair at several other shops. I did a search on the business and found surprisingly positive Yelp reviews. Too often Groupon deals and positive reviews do not overlap. I decided to go ahead and purchase even though it is a little out of my way. The shop is easy to find and parking at the mall is plentiful. Despite other reviews saying the did not validate, they were able to validate for me, so it looks like things have changed in a positive way. It is clean and uncluttered and works to maintain a classy vibe in both atmosphere and customer service. The check-in process was smooth. I was quoted a longer time for the repair in person than I had been when I emailed to make sure they had my needed part in stock, and subsequently made an appointment for the repair. They appropriately check for other problems besides the one being reported so there won't be disagreements later. They called (my friend's phone) when the repair was done. I returned to the store and retrieved my phone. The Groupon deal included "nano-coating screen protectant" which they did not apply until I was back for my phone. I guess they want you to know that they've really applied it, but then I was told I needed to not touch the screen for 10 minutes while it dried, and then buff the haze off. This meant I couldn't use the phone when I first got it back. I'd have preferred it had been taken care of, dried, and wiped down prior to me getting the phone. I had factory reset the phone and removed my SIM for security reasons, and my phone was very unstable (locking up, inaccurate touch screen response, crashing) during the sync process once I added my SIM and signed back into my account. This left me nervous at first that something had gone wrong with the repair, but I didn't jump to any conclusions. Once the phone had re-installed the apps and everything was updated, it went back to normal operation. At their regular prices I probably would use a well rated shop closer to my home for convenience sake, but I'd certainly considering using Cosmo again. Of course, I'd much prefer to never need phone repairs in the future. Minus 100 stars for the creepy little dancing Android with its annoying clacking sound. (I'm kidding, no stars off for it, but if it followed me home and attacked me like something out of a Child's Play film, I would not be surprised). read more

I hardly ever make reviews but the service here was really good! I recently went in to replace the whole screen to my broken Samsung after being referred by a close friend of mine. Right as I entered I was greeted and taken care of right away. The price was hella cheap compared to other places near by and it was SAME DAY PICK UP. I'm unfortunately a five time loyal customer to this place. First time was when I needed a simple glass replacement and with the Groupon deal, I was able to get for $100+ dollars that included a discounted tempered glass and a phone case. That phone got stolen and one new iPhone and four cracked glasses later, I'm back here once again. Ben and Aaron have always been the ones to help me. This time around, I needed a whole LCD replacement and they gave me a $100 deal. Ben even threw in a free tempered glass. I had the unfortunate reason of coming by here--my phone fell flat on the cement and shattered at 8pm the night before. I called them immediately after seeing they had a deal for the iphone 6 (which I currently have) for $69.99. The girl I spoke to said she would hold a replacement screen for me so I could stop by the next day. I got there after work at 515pm. Parking was easy--underground free for 90 minutes with validation (which they provide). Sean was in the store and very helpful. He said it looked pretty bad, but everything else was working just fine. Gave me the run through and told me to come back in 15-20 minutes (which is really hard to gauge when you don't have a phone I've realized). There were some shops nearby so I stopped in there, bought a few things and came back to Cosmo. The phone was ready and it looked beautiful! He even added a screen protector on there complimentary. I came in here on a whim - not really expecting to agree to their prices. i'd gone to another spot in Pasadena and asked about them fixing my shattered back on my iphone 4 - their price was $70-$75..no thanks..I came here; totally expecting the same.. They were HALF the price! only about $30. and it only took them about 30 mins. I dropped it off, went for a nice walk; and boom - it was ready. and it looks great! like new. I also asked them to fix up my wi-fi..bc I have a super weak connection, but it ended up not really working (I think it was unfixable) but they were nice enough to give me a full refund on the wi-fi repair. Customer service was also great. They were super nice..and also very understanding (about the wi-fi issue) I definitely would recommend folks to come here to get your stuff repaired. the price is right; and it's high quality; and they're really nice! I am pretty blown away by this place. I was getting out of a U-Haul yesterday and my purse was not zipped up...my Samsung Galaxy S3 fell out of the purse, all the way down from the cab of the U-Haul, and landed face down on the driveway. NOOOOOOOO! I could almost see it happening in slow motion! It actually had a puncture in the front and lots of cracks. However, the phone itself seemed to be working fine and I began the googling process to see where to get it fixed. Lots of people reporting that it cost them upwards of $250-300 to get their phones repaired and I was starting to get nervous. As soon as I saw all the great reviews for Cosmo, and the fact that it was so close to my workplace, I knew this was where I would go. I emailed them before they were open and received an email right back - I called to set up an appointment. They could take me same day, at 2 pm. The service normally costs $110 and they offered to extend their Memorial Day special so I would be getting it for $99. Very nice offer! The office is clean, bright and staffed with very friendly people. The paperwork was already filled out and after introducing me to the technician, they got to work confident that although it was pretty badly damaged, they could get it fixed. I was instructed to come back at 4 pm. Here is the REAL customer service in my opinion - I came back at 4 and since it was such a tricky case, he still had about 20 minutes to go. But I couldn't wait since I was already taking time away from work and couldn't stop by after - THEY DROVE IT TO MY WORKPLACE and dropped it off for me. SERIOUSLY, so nice. Who does that? Who offers that level of customer service?? These guys! :) Very happy with the service and will recommend it to everyone I know who is foolish enough to drop their electronics, ha! read more

I took my phone in and asked if they could help me diagnose whether my phone's LCD screen was bad. They said that they could--I asked if there was any diagnostic fee and they said it would be free. They were able to confirm that I had a bad LCD, but in the process they cleaned up some water damage. The charge for fixing this was $45. I hadn't agreed to this and they didn't inform me that they were going to do the water damage repair ahead of time. I thought I was getting a free diagnostic. If they'd let me know ahead of time I would have gladly paid it, and given a 5 star review. That's a great price for cleaning a phone. However, I can't leave 5 stars because of the bait & switch. They advertise free diagnostics and I verbally confirmed that it was going to be a free service. They did give me a discounted rate of $30 and some free adhesive, which is why I am leaving a 2 star review. read more

When my Cel phone took a swim, I took it to two repair places and both told me there was little hope for my phone. Cosmo was my third stop and they put my phone in a special dryer and fixed it in about 30 minutes for a cost of $20 ! An employee loaned me a charger so that the battery could be charged outside the phone and told us to return it whenever it was convenient. Great service!!! So rare these days that it should always be applauded. Bravo Cosmo! read more

My Beats Tour earphones decided to break on me. I wanted to see if they were able to be repaired, rather than buying a new pair, since they were pretty expensive. However, I had no idea whatsoever of places that would fix them. Thanks to Yelp, I came across this place. The service was excellent. Both of the workers were very nice and friendly. Thankfully, they were able to fix them, quickly, and now I can block out people/noise with music once again! Also, the Yelp deal helped me save a few bucks. I found this place on Yelp, and am so happy I did. I am so happy and satisfied by my experience. I dropped my Samsung Galaxy S3 this morning and the screen wouldn't turn on--I didn't have insurance on my phone and I didn't want to pay for a new phone. I decided to look around Yelp for phone repair stores and found COSMO. The fact it was located in an actual store at Paseo (walking distance from my office) made it seem a lot more legit than a lot of the other repair shops, not to mention all the 5 star reviews. I walked over after work and was greeted by Amy (we had the same name) who took a look at my phone and told me it was fixable--a HUGE relief for me. I asked her about my warranty, and she told me that they put the manufacture sticker back on the replacement frame so my warranty wouldn't be void. This was an awesome thing to find out. They also have a 90 day warranty on their repairs. These alone were great perks to their exceptional service. Amy told me to come back in 45 minutes to pick up my phone. A little bit later, I come back to the store and lo-and-behold, my phone has been fixed! It cost $260 + taxes ($283 total), and when they gave me the receipt to sign, there was a "Tip amount" line--I was so happy with my experience that I was happy to write a tip. When I gave her back the receipt, she told me that they don't accept tips, and so the entire service and parts cost me $283 total. Long story short my Note II cracked with the glass and LCD needing to be replaced. It felt like the end was near. I arrived at 10am to speak with the tech regarding how to fix my device. He explained the situation thoroughly and gave me some options on how to proceed. Before 2pm, I received a phone call saying my phone was good to go and ready for pickup. :) When in doubt, choose Cosmo for your cellphone repairs! !! read more

I called various places to find out about replacing the glass on my Samsung S7. My boss recommended these guys. Over the phone I got various quotes that shocked me. When I showed them my phone I was waiting for the estimated cost. Turns out it was only the tempered glass screen protector that had cracked. These guys were so honest because they could have taken my phone in back to repair and charged me for full replacement when it was only the $30 screen protector. I dropped my Galaxy S 4 and cracked the screen. Such a bummer. Verizon referred me to a place called Dr. Cellular. They wanted to charge me $240 to fix my phone. After a quick Yelp search, I found COSMO in Pasadena. Great customer service, great price. They fixed my phone in about 3 hours, and charged me a little more than $80, after I checked in on Yelp. Recommend this place highly. Right next to DSW shoes on Colorado Blvd. *They also threw in a free screen protector. read more

After getting the power button fixed on my iPad mini, my 5-year-old dropped it In the driveway and shattered the glass. Cosmo fixed it and gave me $30 off plus they put on a screen protector and a case if my choosing for no extra cost.
