We stopped at Cosmos for breakfast because it was conveniently close to the highway. The place only had 1 customer when we walked in at 8 AM on a Sunday. We were told we could sit anywhere we wanted. They have a lot of specials posted so some of their off menu options may vary. I went with the poached eggs florentine with hollandaise sauce on the side. That also included home fries. I found my eggs to be ok and with a harder yolk than I would have expected. I found that the spinach wasn't wilted enough for my taste. I found the home fries to be uneven seasoned. One of the people in my party had a fruit cup that looked interesting as it had kiwis and plums. I would probably get that as a side if I ever came back for breakfast. read more

A real hole in the wall gem. As mom and pop as it gets. Who wouldn't trust a fat Greek chef??? Well if you want good quality food in an environment that's sort of like going to visit good family, then go here. I drove by this place many times hemming and hawing whether I should try it out. The exterior is not confidence inspiring to be certain, but this clearly attests to what the proprietor values, and that's the food and friendliness. In the photo is a meat lovers omelet and their homemade corned beef hash. I'm 6' 200 lb and I left stuffed They say it's a three egg omelet but it's got to be four eggs just by the size of the thing. It's also PACKED with meat, no token amount to call it a meat lovers...you better love meat. There is no home fries or toast because I am as low carb as possible so can't comment on those. Very happy I finally went in, now I know, and I'll go back to check out the quite hearty looking lunch options. Remember, this is very much mom and pop, zero chain restaurant atmosphere. I just ate here, and I would have given a higher score but for 1 thing. Politics on the tv. I asked for the channel to be changed which they did. They put on Animal Planet. After we got our food, the channel was changed back to the political channel. The food was really good, not a bad price but I don't want to visit an establishment that has politics on the tv. Sports, animal planet, even infomercials would be ok. If you want to have politics with your meal, go here. If you want to be free of politics while you eat, then don't go here. We live in Charlton Massachusetts and travel through here to our farm in upstate Maine. We visited the restaurant in early June 2025. We got off the highway due to a Burger King sign but discovered Cosmos instead. This place is fantastic. Best coffee I ever had, so smooth and fresh. Breakfast omelette had fresh vegetables and actually had a great flavor, these Greek guys know how to cook. The best was the corn chowder, it was so full of flavor. The burger was also exceptionally prepared and presented. Prices are reasonable and fair. Waitress treated us as if we were friends. We highly recommend this place and will ourselves, stop in every time we are going up the highway to Maine. Easy parking right outside the door. Stop in, it is definitely worth the trip. read more

Melina our server was friendly and intuitive. She understood our needs and we had some laughs too. My husband is the "picky" one and loved his meat omelette and the coffee. I ate at this cafe because I wanted breakfast and it was late in the day, and they serve breakfast all day which is nice, however this cafe was below average for a few reasons: First it was pretty dirty inside there was a fly that liked to hang out at my table which I didn't appreciate. The waitress was nice and service was pretty fast when I was there, however, later the waitress was complaining to a customer about her long work hours and to the cook how she was hungry. She definitely was overworked it seemed, and that reflected poorly on the cafe. Lastly, while the food portion size for the price is pretty fair, the food itself wasn't much to write home about (I got the tomato & bacon omelet with home fries). I did get my breakfast desire quasi satisfied, but unless you really have an urge for breakfast late in the day, I recommend skipping this one. read more

Stopped here on the way to.Kittery. Breakfast was very good and very good portion for price. When we walked in waitress looked at us but didn't say hello or anything. We just sat ourselves. This place is not not not kid friendly even though they boast m&m pancakes on their specials board. Service was slow and unfriendly....they would not give my toddler an extra plate, or bring me an extra fork or napkins, slammed our dishes in the washtub when clearing our table, and basically avoided us. But the rudest thing of all was that they cheered when my family left the restaurant. We could hear them in the hall. My kids were not bad just kids and maybe a bit loud....but the treatment was just uncalled for. The food was okay....not the freshest....no real maple syrup as an option and every single piece of toast was burnt especially the kids' toast. Very affordable prices here and excellent portions! I really like the corned beef hash and it goes great on the eggs Bennedict. They cook it up nice and crispy and it has a unique spice flavor to it. The soups are great here! They usually have corn chowder on Wednesdays and fish chowder on Fridays. The fish chowder is better here than I've had at most neighboring seafood places! The home fries here can tend to be a little mushy sometimes. I don't really care for their pancakes either. They taste like a cheap store bought brand. I went on Easter Sunday, I had ordered the corned beef hash eggs benny this is one of my favorite meals at other diners so I had high hopes. The menu had said it was homemade but when my plate came it was clear that it was out of a can. I was appalled and disgusted that someone would have the audacity to pass that off as homemade. When I informed the waitress she went back and asked the chef. Apparently they were on vacation and didn't have enough time to prepare the corned beef, which usually only takes 1-2 days to prepare anyways. My boyfriend got eggs with home fries, toast and bacon. I had a sausage breakfast. It was a very good value. I would be happy to pay more for a higher quality sausage. The home fries were warmed on the grill. They should have been browned on the grilled. Had a greek salad with chicken at Cosmos. The Greek Salad was made with Iceburg lettuce instead of Romaine. The chicken was extremely processed and salty!. I did not eat the salad and told the waitress it was not good. She took the plate away. I ordered eggs and ate them. When we got the bill they charged me for the Salad and the eggs - even though they took the salad back and did not tell us they were keeping it on our bill! So paid $10.50 for 2 scrambled eggs. I have not been to Cosmos for about 2 years or more because of a lousy experience we had there. The food was actually pretty good, but the way we were treated was unacceptable. My son (who is physically challenged with cerebral palsy) and I arrived and took a seat at a booth. I'm a very patient person, but after sitting there for 30 minutes and having the waitress pass us by several times to wait on new arrivals, I finally approached her and asked if we could get some coffee. Well, she started loudly yelling at me that it wasn't her fault that she didn't see us and that she was the only one on duty, etc., etc, She took our order and again we waited. Finally she brought out the foods, and unbelieveably, it was the wrong order. She started yelling again and took it back to the kitchen. I did hear her say to herself " I don't know why he did that" (referring to the cook). About 10 minutes later our breakfast arrived. We ate and left promptly, with the cook standing in the door of the kitchen, arms folded and glaring at us with a smug look on his face. So I don't know if it was the waitress causing the situation, or was it the cook? But I have never been able to shake the feeling that my son was being discriminated against because he is disabled. There just was no other reason for this to happen and I will never go back there, I don't care how good the food is. read more

I have eaten here many times just for breakfast since my move to the area early this year. The food is fine and the breakfast special from 6 am to 8 am is a bargain. But I won't be going back unless I see the older waitress on duty, who is attentive and nice. The younger woman with the black hair that I had last week, had no personality and no sense of humor and paid little attention to me. She brought me regular coffee instead of decaf, and the coffee was filled up so high there was no way to put even one creamer in it. I asked for butter and she forgot. I went to Cosmos for the first time the other day with my grandmother and we both LOVED it! It's just a regular little old diner, nothing fancy inside, but the food was magnificent! She got a pancake and a side of bacon, I got a western omelet with homefries and toast. The bacon was melt-in-your-mouth and the omelet was huge and delicious. The staff there is always friendly, service seems to be fast, and they seem to take good care of their customers. I always see the same customers and I have never seen anyone leave unhappy. Watch your wallet. Count your change before you leave because if you realize after you leave you were short changed and go back, the manager could care less. He's more interested in his profit than his customers. I'll never go there again and I was a faithful 3x week at least customer, as I work in the area and it's a quick place to grab a sandwich. I had a very unpleasant experience at this establishment. The waitress was very rude and took for ever, which I could not understand because there was only three people in the restaurant. When we finally got the food it was extremely salty and it was burnt in some places. I only had two bites when I called the waitress over and they refused to take it off the bill. At that point the waitress was giving us dirty looks and asked if I had a problem. Being a professional business man I was appalled at this type of behavior.
