We recently stopped in at David's house for breakfast. Formally Raff's Cafe, we noticed many nice renovations since we were last there. It was Sunday morning and the place was not too busy. We ordered egg dishes, fruit, home fries and toast. Food took a while to come out but it was very hot, fresh, well seasoned and plenty- a good value at decent prices too. Nice jazz music playing - great pleasant service too. We will definalty be back for more and to try the lunch menu. read more

First time here since they opened this year. Overall, very nice. Foremost, the service is great, props to Gina. Thank you! Portions and food are definitely within the price range. Better than some places out there. We had omelettes, Greek and Hash (homemade). Food was hot and well seasoned. Wife's omelet was a little heavy on the black olives, but there are definitely worse problems you could have. The cinnamon roll was very good also, however, you might tell them not to heat it. Ours was a little over-nuked. Background music was very nice Christmas assortment. Fit the season well. Overall, good experience and will definitely return. read more

Formerly Raff's Cafe, David's House Cafe & Grill opened in January 2025 serving breakfast and lunch in a casual cozy setting with 3 TVs, counter seating with high seats, and table seating for up to 49 diners. The breakfast menu offerings include egg platters, omelets, bennies, breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, pancakes, French toast, waffles, and breakfast sides. The lunch menu offerings include sandwiches/wraps/subs & burger plates, meatloaf, chicken tenders, grilled chicken, steak tips, fried haddock (Fridays), salads, and kids menu (breakfast & lunch). The pricing is pretty reasonable and they have a Mon-Thurs Early Bird Deal for $8.99 which includes 2 eggs, homefries, toast, small juice and coffee. I stopped by David's House for a very early weekday breakfast, just after the 6 am opening time. I was the only customer and took a seat at one of the tables in the dining area. The server Racheal brought out a menu and offered coffee & juice, which I declined and got an ice water instead. Since I already read the menu pics online, I quickly ordered the Steak Bomb Omelet with Homefries & Raisin Toast. Since they just opened, the grill was trying to heat up in the kitchen and it took approximately 15 minutes for my food to be ready. The cook Matt also informed me that the omelet was not perfect due to the grill temperature and longer cooking time. The portion of food was generous and the omelet tasted just fine and very hot, a folded egg sheet filled with shaved steak, peppers, onions, mushrooms, melted cheese (Swiss). The homefries (fresh cut potatoes) were grilled and browned. The raisin toast was buttered and there were Smuckers packets on the table, next to the Byrne Dairy creamers (CNY!) While I was enjoyed my tasty and filling breakfast, I was offered a sample of their soup of the day which was a Vegetable Soup with a mix of corn, carrots, celery, peppers, in a tomato broth, oyster crackers on the side. There was nothing better than a hot cup of soup on a 14 degree morning. I did request a box for half of my breakfast since I needed to head into work. The check was presented which was $12.82 (cash)/$13.30 (card) with tax and before tip. Overall, I enjoyed a filling tasty breakfast at a reasonable price and the service was friendly and attentive. I would definitely come back here again and I have will to try their haddock plate on a day off, which is offered on Fridays only. read more

David's house has to be the best Diner in the Merrimac valley. Not only are you getting quality, but there also portion sizes are what makes them stand out among all other diners. I grew up eating at methuen family restaurant in Methuen and sunny side in Lawrence, but over the years I've noticed a decrease in quality and portion sizes with them, let's not talk about pricing, that is a different story for a different day... But at David's house not only is the service great, but the food comes out quickly and before you know it. I love that the consistency is always there, and they are never out of items. Went for breakfast this morning. We waited over an half hour to order. One waitress walked out. There was one left and one thing I must say she was awesome she really tried and kept smiling the whole time. My son ordered a veggie omlette with no tomatoes it had tomatoes.
