I've been here multiple times for different events (weddings, birthdays, retirement dinners), and my experience has been pretty consistent overall. The venue itself is decent, especially the back garden room, which is the nicest space in my opinion. It has large glass windows and a nice ambiance, especially in the evening. However, they often have multiple events going on at once, and if your party isn't clearly directed to the right room, it can get confusing. Parking is free but limited, and it can be a hassle depending on how busy the night is. Food is hit or miss since it's usually buffet-style. Some items are okay. Like the spare ribs they're known for but overall it doesn't always taste freshly prepared and can sometimes be overly salty. The bar is also inconsistent; I've had well-made drinks, but other times they've been watered down. On one visit, I even found a bug in my drink, but the bartender did replace it without issue. On the positive side, the staff is consistently friendly, accommodating, and service is usually quick. I came here on a friday for a holiday party. The space was nice. The wait staff was very kind and helpful. Everyone moved efficiently and quickly. The waiters were always cleaning up and moving things out of our way which was nice. The food was served buffet style. The food wasnt bad but it was a bit underwhelming. I thought it would have more flavor. The women's bathroom was also kind of a mess which surprised me because the venue looked pretty. In the space we were in, it only had 2 stalls and one of the stall doors was broken. If they fix that and make their food more flavorful it would be a perfect space to host gatherings. read more

I made an appointment to view Costa del Sol as a potential venue for my upcoming wedding, and the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. When we arrived, we were not greeted at all. I approached a young lady sitting in an office and told her I had an appointment. She asked what the appointment was for, and when I explained that I had just spoken to her a few minutes earlier, she replied, "Well, I speak to a lot of people." That set the tone for the entire visit. She then told us we could go ahead and look at the venue, but never got up from her chair or offered to walk us through. We were left to do a self-tour in a venue where the lights weren't even turned on. No guidance, no explanation, no effort whatsoever. When we returned to the office, within two minutes she asked what type of event it was. As soon as I said "wedding," she immediately stated that events start at $8,500 for 50 people. Almost $9,000 for this place, without any tour, hospitality, or basic courtesy. What a joke. The lack of professionalism and customer service was shocking. I truly felt like I was begging someone to allow me to have my wedding there. Worst personal treatment I've experienced, especially for such an important life event. Very unfortunate. read more

Don't have your event here unless you want to be left severely disappointed. I had my son's first birthday party here this past fall, it was my first and last time having an event at Costa del Sol. The day of the event from start to finish the service was subpar. I provided them with a layout picture on the template they gave of all the tables and such needed. When I arrived to the party I was surprised to see that the head table on the form was missing and that the layout of the tables on the side of the room with a soft play set up was SUPER cramped for most guests. The people setting up could have adjusted some of the tables to give especially those smack in the center more room to push their chairs out and allow others to easily pass by. We booked the party from 1-5pm, buffet was open at 2pm which was fine. What was not fine is that around 2:30pm, most of the food trays were empty and not quickly being replaced/filled. I understand there may be one popular item from a buffet to get taken up more and then needing replacing, but to have guests enter the side room to get food once it was their tables turn to find an array of empty or almost empty trays was quite embarrassing. When multiple guests came up to me advising and asking about the food I alerted one of the staff servers and the young gentlemen said that they filled it up twice already so that would be it. I mentioned that it was not acceptable, I paid a buffet price per person, not for it to only be available 30 min or be filled x amount of times. They should over account for food and not expect people to eat the bare minimum and not replenish accordingly. I've never had anything like this happen to me before with any event. On the contrary, at every single one of my past events at other Portuguese restaurant establishments I ALWAYS had an abundance of food leftover for myself and/or guests to bring home with them in to go containers. Not once in over 7 years did I ever have to ask for food to be refilled, it was always done in a timely manner without question. Another thing is that when they did replenish any of the food, I saw them bring it in a small platter to transfer over to the large metal tray, not replace the empty metal tray with another full food metal tray which is nonsense and was gone after 5 or so people would serve themselves. I find it ironic that they asked for the most lead time in advance of head count and menu, 2 weeks, you would think they would be better prepared as opposed to the standard 1 week. The service during the event was also terrible, not completely to the fault of the servers, but the fact that Costa del Sol thought it was sufficient to have only 2 wait staff for over 70 guests. It was so hard to get a hold of either of them because they were both being so over worked. So much so that one of them dropped my son's birthday cake when lifting it off the table. This was also due to them not using a sturdy table, it was placed on a basic Home Depot foldable table that collapsed, causing the cake to fall. I understand that accidents can happen, but the manager, owner, no one apologized to me for this or offered to cover the cost of the cake. On the topic of dessert, if for whatever reason you do still decide to book a party with them save yourself the embarrassment and money of their assorted pastries option. I was told each table would get an assortment of 10 or so pastries. What they failed to mention is that there was not 8,10 or enough for even 1 per person at some tables I came to find out, in addition to the fact that it was never mentioned that these pastries would be mini/one bite pastries, not even full size. Had I known they would be mini I would have never opted for them. I went to an 8th grade dance here 2 nights ago. It is a lovely banquet hall with 2 large parrots outside to greet you! They are a little loud but beautiful. Inside there is a medium dining area with a wood dance floor under a solarium. The food was delicious (rice and chicken) and the salad was fresh! Very Bad experience! Bad people they do not care about the customer! What a rip off! About 4 or 5 months ago we decided to sign the contract. We had 100 people in the list. They told us not to worry about it, if we had less than 100 they will be able to accommodate us. About a month before the event we call to let them know that we did not have 100 people. The girl said that she will get back to us. Attended a bridal shower today. One server for 40 plus ladies, food came out over an hour late and was left our for only an hour. Had to remind the server about cake service. The mother of the bride (who should have been served) ended up serving the guests. Flimsy white paper plates were given for cake service. No extra utensils at the tables to eat the cake so had to request that as well. Coffee was served about 10-15 minutes after cake and guests had to serve themselves. Out of the dozen or so showers I have attended, never before have I seen such blatant disregard for service. Hopefully the management made right by the hosts and provided some adequate compensation. Decent place to have a party. They offer three different rooms sizes with many packages and a outside option in the summer days. I've been to a few parties here and honestly with the food it's either a hit or miss. For example the last party I went to they had the waiters walk around with hors d'oeuvres and most of them had the bottom part of them a little burnt. Which I'm sure it wouldn't hurt them to make new ones. The food is always your basic restaurant catering food. Salad option, bread, peppers and sausage, chicken, ribs. I was at an event last evening and I was extremely dissatisfied with the service that we received. For starters the food was late being set up for us to eat. Then when we got to the serving line the food was cold, barely luke warm. Then when the dishes ran out, they were slow to replenish them. We had a cake for dessert and by the time they came out with the cake over half of the guest had already left. Truly disappointed with this venue. Will never patronize them again. read more

Owner is prejudice against black people. The owner is a heavy Hispanic older guy who constantly monitored us and not the white 18 yr. old party next door. The food isnt great and we paid for open bar and the owner told the bartender to give us water shots because he didn't want to give us alcholic beverages even though we paid for it. He yelled and threatened to shut our party down because we put confetti on the table. He was very rude to us from the door which is odd because we rented the venue last April and didn't have any problems or had the owner constantly supervising us. Pricing is a little high for what they are offering. The entire facility is extremely dated. Their grand room looks fantastic in pictures but not very impressive in real life. My fiancee and I had made an appointment to go over wedding packages. We arrived at the scheduled time but weren't able to meet a coordinator because another appointment was scheduled at the same time. I didn't like that. We had driven nearly 40 minutes to the venue and we couldn't even get a separate appointment? They're either doing very well or they're not organized...at least to the level that I'm comfortable with. So we decided to take a self-guided tour of the facility and this is when we decided not to stay any longer. The main room had an old carpet and the room itself was not very appealing. There is a huge wall of windows that look great online but a little dirty in person. There is also a courtyard that screams 80s teen movie (think Dirty Dancing but not as nostalgic). Last night we attended my husbands "50th" class reunion at Costa Del Sol. The Hors a d'oeuvres were passed by wait staff at the cocktail hour. Dinner buffet was excellent with so many items to choose from and a roast at a carving station. The desserts were amazing and there was also a fresh fruit table. We had a bridal showe here recently and were were very happy from start to finish. The catering manager was very friendly, and they accomodated everything that we asked for. Their prices are VERY reasonable. We used the larger upstairs room with the bar in it. All of the food was DELICIOUS. We received MANY compliments that day on the food, and afterwards, people were calling us for days talking about the food. The room is very updated and nice - brick wall, large chandeliers, really nice atmosphere with large windows and lots of light. We were very impressed with the overall service and had no issues. The courtyard and grounds are beautiful and immaculate. Very pictureque, beautiful flowers and clean. They have a large picnic paviliion available as well. I had my 50th birthday party here on Saturday. Reserving and making payments was easy enough and customer service was good but thats where good customer service ended. The party before mine ended an hour late (with a fight and police being called) therefore my setup was delayed. They initially offered to put the linen and table covers on but when my coordinator asked them to help the owner claimed he would see if they had time but she overheard him tell the staff she want you to help her but I told her you wasnt doing that. And 1 of the staff responded I'm not helping to do that sh**, and they didnt. My guest that arrived early helped her. The place was extremely hot and they wouldnt turn on the air. The bartender wasnt the friendliest. The staff that evening couldnt care less. I recently had a wedding here almost a month ago in the large room, I believe it's called the Barcelona room. Everything from start to finish was amazing. John, the guy who we booked with and arranged everything with was kind, courteous, and accommodating with everything we needed. First, we had 150 Portuguese people who we needed to satisfy and mix in some Polish food as well which was not a problem at all. We had amazing food which I'm so shocked at the quality and quantity of food in which was so beautifully presented as well. We had the whole deluxe menu option extravaganza. We had everything from paella, split lobsters, shrimp coral, suckling pig, fried calamari, garlic shrimp station and beef skewers, bacalau and shrimp cakes, potato pierogies, kielbasa, mariscada, an elaborate international cheese display and presunto, the list goes on and on.... And that's only cocktail hour. They even allowed us to use their bridal suite which I was able to put all of my stuff and the bridal parties belongings in during the wedding and be able to take pictures with our photographer prior to the wedding. We had our ceremony at Costa Del Sol outside in the garden and directly after the ceremony, it quickly turned into cocktail hour without a hiccup. All of our guests were amazed by the food and how great it was. I couldn't believe how much food there was. And it seemed like there was even more than what We were told we were getting. Dinner was out of this world. The seated dinner during our reception was the same for everyone and consisted of a steak, lobster tail, jumbo shrimp, string beans, potatoes, lemon wedge, and a small container of melted butter. This was honestly the first hall that actually cooked a steak perfectly. It wasn't rare and it wasn't well done, it was cooked to a perfect medium. The lobster tail was cooked perfectly as well I couldn't believe it. Everything was hot and fresh too. I was so surprised food from a big hall could actually be delicious! Usually when food is made for so many people it's usually dry and over cooked but this is by far the case at Costa Del Sol. Lastly, the Maitre'D we had, Daniel, was so attentive and made sure our night went as smoothly as we couldn't dreamed. Whatever we wanted, we got. We never even had to ask him for anything... It was like he knew what we needed and already got it for us. Even I saw him helping the guests throughout the night and running plated dinners to guests quickly and getting drinks. Once again, an employee that actually cares about their guests is hard to find but at this place, it truly exists! I really appreciate the all of the staff at this place. Being a bride it is difficult to eat during cocktail hour when people want to greet you and say hello to you. This sort of happened when all I honestly wanted to do was try all of the food during cocktail hour. By the time I was able to get some food, it was too late and cocktail hour was being wrapped up and all I really wanted was one of the butler style horderves we were having, jalapeño poppers. Anyways, they were all gone. I kindly asked one of the waiters if there were any left and he left to go to the kitchen. I went to go sit down at a table and about ten minutes later he came to find me with a piping hot plate of freshly made jalapeño poppers. I recently hosted a surprise birthday party at Costa Del Sol and I can truly say, this venue was great! To start, the event coordinator John, was so helpful to work with. He did not give the feeling as if I were just another sale (as I got at Galloping Hills, NJ); he was very personable and actually listened to my request. Each time I spoke with him, he was courteous, friendly and attentive. Anytime I wanted to meet with him to see different rooms, ask questions, throw ideas around, he made himself available. For me, that personable touch, makes and breaks a sale. Since meeting with him, I have referred 2 other events to this venue because of him alone and will continue to do so. Next, there is ample parking! This is a priority when hosting a big event. By the looks of the outside of the venue, you would not imagine that inside one would find a treasure. All of the rooms offered an intimate feeling with reasonably priced full service bars. The bathrooms were modern and spotless! This is very important when looking at a venue, to me it shows the cleanliness of the place. Everything was handicapped accessible and the scenery at night was picture perfect. Third, the food!! Simply amazing! I had a buffet style menu with variety of foods ranging from beef, chicken, rice, fish, etc. You literally have to taste this food to appreciate how incredible good it was! Words could not describe it. Even the sheet cake they provided for the event was fresh and delicious. All of the guest raved about the taste of the food. Only bad thing is that you cannot take the leftover food with you, so don't forget to eat while you are there! But Kudos to their cooks! Lastly, the staff that night was so helpful. I had a manager assigned to my event and he was making sure everything was running as planned. He even made accommodations for guest that showed up an hour early! I was so thankful for that, as we had not even finished setting up when guest arrived. After reading some yelp reviews I was concerned that the food would not be good but I was pleasantly surprised ( and I'm a tough critic).I will say that prices here are a tad steep in comparison to some places. The venues minimum is 40 people so we ended up having to pay for 10 extra people, which was a bummer. All in all I would recommend this place for your events. read more

From the initial planning in August of 2018, to the date of my party and all in between, the management and staff have been nothing short of excellence. My guests could not stop raving about the venue and it's beautiful décor, the awesome cuisine and to the professionalism of the staff that attended my event. Jose- the maître d for the evening and his team, Michael, Steven and Ana, were exceptional and gave me an ease that I was in great hands. Possibly the worst food I have ever had at a wedding reception. The seafood was terrible having obviously been too long in a freezer before bring cooked. The bacon on the bacon wrapped scallops was good but the scallops (if they were real scallops which is questionable) had been cooked to an unpleasant paste. In general everything that could be overcooked was overcooked and the food that wasn't overcooked was, for the most part, very poorly prepared. The chef (and it is stretching a point to call this person a chef) is either completely inexperienced or totally incompetent. I attended a party at this venue this weekend and I must say that the food was terrible, my wife and I left the party and went to a restaurant to eat afterwards. The Paelha was overcooked, the rice stuck together like a paste and the clams you could chew on them for a week they were so overcooked, I did not try the pasta or the eggplant parmigiana, the beef with mushrooms was tough and not well seasoned, the chicken breast in garlic sauce (I think that's what it was) was also overcooked and tough, next came the "steamed" vegetables also overcooked like eating mush and absolutely no seasoning whatsoever, the roasted potatoes actually looked appetizing, they weren't bad just no taste again due to lack of seasoning, I understand they charge well for the venue and services and I would expect a lot better than what I had, very disappointing. read more
