This lovely establishment is a 5 minute walk from the Paper Mill Playhouse in Milburn, NJ. A convenient place to eat either before or after attending an event at the theatre. The dining room is modern and decorated with trees and lighten that create a cozy eating atmosphere. The service was phenomenal. We were a group of 20 and our orders were taken quickly and served accurately. The food was very well prepared and presented elegantly. I especially enjoyed the Brussels sprouts. I was with a party of six and at 11AM, we were all in a breakfast mood. We tried and all liked the Brioche French Toast, the Mushroom Thyme omelet and the Shakshuka. The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with lemon curd and blueberries just didn't hang together. (Only four dishes for six people because two of us ordered the omelet and two the French toast). Overall the food was very good and the portions generous. Beverages were fine. The service was a bit spotty, possibly because we had two waiters who seemed to be tripping over each other. Popped in for a quick visit this week. Tables are close together so would imagine weekend brunch being quite crowded. Only after ordering did we realize how little time we had to get to our next appointment, but everything came out quickly and efficiently without seeming too rushed as if corners were cut. Quality was not compromised at all in the quick turnaround. Lavender lemonade was delicious, and so many yummy sounding seasonal coffees. We tried tres leches, amazing, piled high with whipped cream and drizzled with caramel - dessert in a cup. The big chains have nothing on this coffee. Truffle fries were some of the best I've ever had, not greasy at all and just enough for the truffle to not be overwhelming. My guest took a box for the black onion burger since we ran out of time to finish. When we got to the parking lot she noticed our waiter walking around, I thought he might be on break, but nope! My husband and I shared a bowl of potato leek soup- perfect for a chilly day. He ordered the crispy shallot burger with sweet potato fries and I went with the BLT. Both were so tasty. I loved the combo of the perfectly cooked bacon with the aioli and rosemary focaccia. The salad itself was very good. However, I did not care for the green goddess dressing that comes with it. Well, this place sure is popular on a Sunday during brunch and I can see why! The hostess was very kind and said it would be an hour and fifteen minute wait, but if a seat became available at the bar or high tops, we could sit earlier. As for our starter, we had the pumpkin popovers which were different. They kind of reminded me of little muffins with a different consistency. The star of the show here was the pecans which were so delicious. For mains, my mom got the whisk omelette, which she said was rich and delicious. I got the lemon ricotta pancakes and the pancakes were so fluffy. I would get this again. The lemon sauce on top tasted like a lemon loaf from Starbucks which I did not mind at all. The blueberries paired with the lemon were a perfect combo. I also got the patatas brava which I would literally go back just for that. The potatoes were cooked perfectly and the aioli was absolutely mind blowing. I would come back here again. The atmosphere is perfect for brunch or lunch. Went here for lunch on a busy Sunday, around 1:15pm. Restaurant was packed but we had a short 5-10 minute wait for a table for two. We were seated and it took approximately 10 minutes before anyone came by, and when he did, we placed our order: two drinks (lemonade and a jasmine iced tea, both delicious), a So-Cal Crispy Chicken, and a Turkey Club. 2025.06.30 Updated edit to original review: changed Service from 4/5 to 2/5. While it was busy, it would have gone a long way had our waiter come by within the first 3 minutes of us being seated and said something along the lines of, "I'll be with you in a few moments". But the big reason for this score change is the fact that my GF saw something I did not: a woman had finished wiping down two tables behind me and while walking away, past other patrons, was swinging the cleaning rag she had just used around in circles. Another 10 minutes went by and we were brought ice water and our drinks. And another 5-ish minutes went by and my GF's So-Cal Crispy Chicken sandwich (which she said was good and would order again), and I was brought a panini, the prosciutto panini, I think (by someone who wasn't our original waiter). I obviously sent it back and about 5 minutes later, I was brought a Turkey Panini by the same not-original-waiter. I flagged down our original waiter and asked him if my sandwich was in fact, not a turkey club. He apologized, removed the turkey panini, and about 5 minutes later, brought me the correct sandwich. So, the wait was worth it: absolutely one of the best turkey clubs I've ever had. Just wish it had arrived correctly. The waiter comped my lemonade. I told him the third sandwich was worth it, and he seemed surprised that I got two incorrect sandwiches. Not a huge deal, won't stop me from returning to order it again. As far as the ambiance: it's loud. If the restaurant is full, expect to be straining to hear conversations with your table-mate.
