I order plant from Costa Farms because they have a type of plant I want. I understand that the plant or soil can leak out or imperfectly arrive because shipping company and transit. They actually pack very well but the plant I got has an illness and disease. Many leaves have brown spots that I definitely know it wasn't from shipment. The price on their official website is more expensive than third party retailer that have their product on the shelves.

I've never been to Costa Farms in Florida. This review is for the company itself. I love the concept that this business wants to sell rare/exotic plants at an affordable price so we don't have to pay an arm and leg for them. Some are from different countries and hard to find. Costa farms will go out of their way to find them. I've bought most of their products through Lowe's. I'm saddened by the way the plants are unpackaged and handled by the employees at Lowe's. Some are not watered for weeks. For the most part I've been able to find some healthy plants and they are still thriving. I've also bought cacti and succulents. Couldn't believe how big they are and pricing is cheap. Overall I know for some it's hit or miss from this company. I'll continue to buy their plants and support them. Maybe one day I will be able to visit their nursery in Florida.

I just LOVE my plant! Thank you so much Costa Farms!

This company has thee UPMOST respect for living organisms on earth! Just look at the photo!

Two Costa Farms tropical hibiscus plants. The one on the right is healthy, just needed a drink.

I'm a mail order customer who ordered a tropical hibiscus. When I received the plant, it was in beautiful condition and already blooming - which showed me that they had sent the wrong variety (red instead of white/pink). I emailed Costa Farms, and they immediately sent out not one, but TWO replacement plants, and one of them is putting out multiple blooms and is obviously the correct variety. The other plant has buds. Both are big, beautiful, healthy, mature tropical hibiscus (rosa sinensis), unlike the many, many spindly or tiny hibiscus I've received from other online sellers. I highly recommend Costa Farms for tropical hibiscus and definitely will be buying more plants from them.

Ordered a snake plant sent as a gift. Costa efficiently sent a beautiful plant expertly packaged for a very reasonable price.

Hi! I'm really sorry, but I'm afraid not. Costa Farms is wholesale-only. But you can find our plants at a wide variety of retailers: http://www.costafarms.com/retailers ---Justin, Costa Farms Horticulturist

After reading great reviews, I decided to pay Richard Lyons Nursery a visit and was glad I did. The property is a little tricky to find and from the street doesn't look that big, but once you enter, you will see the outside looks are deceiving. This place is packed with all sorts of ornamentals, fruit trees and other types of plants. After choosing several plants and having the sales ticket written up, I was very pleasantly surprised to see that it was only $40. Had I gone to another place in Kendall or a major retailer, I would have paid much more. I will definitely be back for more.

We first discovered Lyons in our search for rare Atala butterflies to augment the population at our house... the folks at Montgomery botanical center had recently brought a population of Atala caterpillars to feed on Lyons sizable coontie selection. We were lucky to get a coontie with freshly laid eggs... that was in late September, and they emerged from their cocoons today (late October). They have a wonderful selection of butterfly larval and nectar plants. They have both local and exotic plants also including bamboo, heliconia, and more. When you arrive, park a short way in... a siren will announce your presence, and you'll soon be met by a guide in a golf cart. We've been four times so far, and each time we go we've discovered a new area, and new plants. As you wander around, make sure you look at the amazing mature specimens that dot the property.... such an amazing variety... it rivals a botanical garden!

Beautiful almost white pea sized gravel and gorgeous plants and plantings everywhere (in&out). There's a false front (western style of the 1800's with a drugstore front on the left and a mercantile on the right, done in galvanized metal. Then you walk in and find yourself in a tremendous space offering a corridor of potted gardens leading you along to three spaces, one on the right for dining suited with picnic tables sporting tablecloths, enough seating for 85+. There's also a smoothie bar featuring blender drinks and nonalcoholic beers. At the center of this space, straight ahead is a mechanical bull upon a platform, with inflated walls and floor. There's someone to run that. There's another 2 areas to the left with several round tables for 20-40 others. Then there's the stuff for kids and more kids. Every kind of game for 2-12 yo kids, from little Jenga blocks, small & big trucks & excavators, playgrounds lg and sm, just all kinds of stuff everywhere, along with little picnic tables and small tables & chairs. Finally, at the back of the property are the animals. By the way the food is fantastic and not expensive and there's a menu for dogs too! Almost forgot, pups are welcome. From the moment you walk through the threshold the staff was very very friendly and so helpful. They were very willing to explain the idea of the place. I loved that they had such a great Green Nursery vibe, they do sell the plants, delicious food for sale and they have animals to go View and hang out with in the back. I got the pleasure of having a passion fruit and mango smoothie reminded me of one I had in Thailand which is a big deal cuz I have yet to have found something similar. I got my breakfast and Cuban food craving fix taking care of there. The coffee both hot and ice were absolutely delicious and satisfying. The only thing I can say is when you drive in parking seems to be very bleak. But there's plenty of parking behind in a parking lot. Overall I would give this please a 5 out of 5 stars everything from Food Service ambiance and the plants were absolutely stunning. Next time I go visit Miami that will definitely have to be a trip on my agenda.

Because if you write The Heavenly Garden on your Google Maps app, you will end up on the other side of Homestead, looking at various mansions. Not even kidding. That being said, given that this is being written on Yelp, I trust you won't have the adventure my girlfriend and I did trying to find this sanctuary of orchids and succulents among many other treasures. Ahem. Let's see... what's there to know? Well, they have a free and immense parking lot and you can essentially spend your entire day there taking photos. I took dozens upon dozens, but I'm not bothering posting them all because I don't think that they serve this place justice. Not only is the staff following proper protocol during COVID-19, but they're kind and willing to give you a free tour. The gentleman who attended us was so friendly, but more so, he was instructive and we even learned that a particular flower had chocolate smells coming from it in the morning. Also, we learned how some orchids got their unnatural color. Specifically the blue orchid I fell in love with. I'd probably have bought one, but everything I touch dies. I don't have a green thumb whatsoever. I would, however, happily buy one for a loved one should the occasion arise.

The staff were helpful but you knew they really didn't want to deal with somebone buying one or two items.
