We worked with the same salesman, Bill, as my folks did and he was very good. He is very knowledgeable about his products and very willing to work with you to fit you with a good product at a good price. What I liked best was the price they gave you was the price you sign for. I got 4 other estimates from a mix of box stores and local stores and the price each provided kept fluctuating. My install was last Friday and besides one hitch, which was remedied quickly, I am very happy. The carpet looks great. The installers were clean, efficient and courteous. I already recommended Bill to a co-worker and he has since bought carpet from them.

We had this all done at a really busy time for us (in hindsight, this was the mistake on our part), as we all know that these days, if you want good-quality work with installs/contractors, you have to micromanage and helicopter it, it seems. We took his word for it on a couple of things and shouldn't have. When he came to measure, I pointed to a spot where there is a dip in our basement, he said they would repair it upon installation. I was at work when the carpet was installed, and when I realized a couple of weeks later that the dip was still there, he tried to gaslight me - saying they would never agree to repair something like that, as it is not something they do since it would be concrete work, to repair a basement foundation issue. He said someone would come check it out, but they never did. It's been 2-3 months now. I had also asked him, while he was at our house, how much would need to be moved/put away. He said, "you don't have to worry about anything but just the little things and anything breakable". My husband questioned this the night before installation, as he noticed the contract stated that most things needed to be cleared, but I told him not to worry about it because Jonathan said we didn't need to. The crew tried to charge us extra fees for having to move stuff or said they would come back another day after we took care of it, but they then wanted to charge us $200-300 for not getting to do the job that day. We fought back on this, so we ultimately did not pay this fee. Jonathan was very condescending throughout this whole experience, playing dumb and somehow forgetting what he said to me. Don't trust what he says and just read the fine print.

While problems can occur on any project, our disappointment stemmed less from the installation issues themselves and more from how our concerns were handled when we brought them forward. As customers making a significant investment in our home, we expected our concerns to be taken seriously and addressed professionally. Instead, we encountered a level of defensiveness that made an already frustrating situation more difficult than it needed to be. To the company's credit, Friends & Family Flooring ultimately corrected the flooring issues and addressed damage that occurred to our dining room table during the project. We appreciate that they stood behind their work and made things right in the end. However, the process of getting there was far more challenging than it should have been. Quality workmanship is important, but so is customer service when problems arise. While the final outcome was acceptable, the overall experience left us disappointed and unable to recommend the company based on how concerns were handled after the installation.

But the owner was very helpful to make everything right. Communications were also a problem because the flooring team seemd to not speak English and thus we could not effectively communicate with any of them. They were courteous, stuck to the project timeline, hard working, and wore masks. They paid special attention to moving our larger furniture pieces (fee involved) and putting it back when the floor was ready.Overall we are very pleased.

They were immediately accommodating, and came to my house to give me an estimate within a day or two. You know when you get a good feeling about someone/something? Well I had it when Tom came to give me the estimate, I could tell that he was being genuine, and wasn't trying to feed me a bunch of crap. You see, I had been through this estimate process before, and I definitely got the crap served to me, something about being a woman doing this is definitely something else... Anywho, he was straight up with his estimate and it was fair. I love the fact that they are a family owned business, you can tell with the way they interact with you and the level of respect that is given to their clients. My install was quick and painless! Two gents came over and were done in about four and half hours! I got my entire top floor re carpeted, my steps and closets. I was only responsible for moving the small things, they handled everything else. They were quick, courteous and professional! I am thoroughly pleased with everything from start to finish. If I ever need flooring done again, (they do hard wood too score!) I will be giving them a call.
