What I absolutely LOVE is that they have different, creative flavors changing each week! One week it might be a mind-blowing sun-dried tomato and basil, the next a spicy mango habanero, or a classic hot Italian that's just perfect. It keeps me coming back to see what new concoction they've dreamed up. You can tell they use top-notch ingredients - the quality is just fantastic. But it doesn't stop at sausage! I was so thrilled to find out they also have pierogi! They are SO good - tender, flavorful, and a perfect complement to the sausages or just great on their own. This spot is popping! Parking lot was full which is an excellent sign. We took a ticket and browsed the various coolers and sauces while waiting. Saturday morning is a super busy time to visit. Last year, we went with the slim sticks, kielbasa, smoked reuben, Italian sausage, Bratwurst, and blueberry maple breakfast sausage. This meat, smoking, packaging business might be off the beaten path right off 104 on Basket Road, in Webster, right near the Monroe-Wayne County line, is very well known in the NE metro for their amazing smoked bacon and infinite sausage possibilities. They also do steaks, pork loin and have all sorts of sausages, but they close to the general public in October, but take meat orders to get us all through the areas cold and nasty Winter. If you want game processing done right, this is also the place. They only do game orders in November then close for the cold season. I imagine the family heads to warmer climates, until they re-open mid Spring. If you love Bacon, this is a must visit place. I'll jump on the bandwagon for Costanza's. This is an awesome place to pick up hand crafted unique meats and even cheeses for any occasion. We have been here a few times and every time we come we look forward to trying something new. Every foodie should stop by. My personal favorite (so far) is the garbage plate sausage. These sausages are loaded inside with spices, onions, and bits of home fries and macaroni salad noodles. It sounds strange...but they are showstoppers. We've really enjoyed the red pepper mozzerella sausages and are also big fans of the blueberry breakfast sausages. We've even tried their jerky. They have lots of chicken sausages to choose from as well and also have specials for marinated chicken breasts and even homemade roast beef and smoked cheeses and smoked bacon. We are looking forward to visiting them in the Spring when they open again for the season. My newest obsession! Had no idea that this location existed until I saw a Facebook ad which lured me in with the promise of garbage plate sausage. The hours/days open are a little different here so make sure you double check the hours/days prior to heading out. Coming earlier in the day will give you a better selection overall. I arrived on a Wednesday at opening and there was a line at the door - that's when you know you are in for something good. Located in a small warehouse off of Basket Rd, Walk in and take a number. You will be looking at a case of house made cold cuts (Bologna Varieties & Salami just to name a few). They have several varieties of smoked sausages, hot dogs and the BACON! Bacon is sliced to order and include wonderful options such as Apple Cinnamon, Mango Pineapple, Raspberry Chipotle, Maple and can be sliced as thin or thick as needed. Tons of Sausages (obviously) including chicken and pork options. I love that you can buy as few or as many as you would like (ie: 2 sausages of each flavor and they will pack them separately and with a smile.) I love the garbage plate sausage which has all the spices you love in ROC meat sauce, macaroni, home fries - cooks up perfect. I agree with other Yelpers that the Blueberry breakfast sausage links are wonderful - a little sweet with subtle blueberry and salty/spicy flavors making the perfect combination. Buffalo Bleu Chicken sausage is like a buffalo wing in a link and the even the sweet and hot Italian flavors are just special. Their beef patties are fresh, reasonably priced and include a Juicy Lucy Deluxe variation which is their fresh pieces of bacon pressed in with cheddar pieces. The garbage plate patties are just as great - just like eating your favorite plate but in a burger! Each patty is approx 1/4 lb prior to cooking. They offer numerous items for sale including local favorites to cook your meats in such as bbq/hot sauces, pasta, jarred ROC hot sauce varieties, pickles, cheeses and spreads. They have some wonderful cannolis in the cooler case - the chocolate dipped is truly spectacular, you need one. Prices are very reasonable and you will be shocked how much you leave with for the price. The only smoked sausage I tried was the peanut butter wiener. It was unusual but not offensive. What truly stood out was the extra garlic bologna made in-house. It was truly exceptional. The prices were very reasonable compared to other butcher/sausage vendors, grocery stores and butcher shops. I noticed the listed prices for fresh beef were reasonable as well although none was on display. So many unique varieties and always something new to try. If they have it get the Chicken Alfredo Sausage. Its a party in your mouth. And try the Cherry Bomb bacon. It was recommended to me today. I came home, fried some up for a BLT for lunch and am already craving another one. My two year old daughter even loves it and we can't get her to try any sort of meat lately. Without hyperbole this is the greatest place to get sausage in Rochester. Fantastically creative flavors that almost always hit their mark, despite how outlandish they might sound. And even if the flavor isn't what you want, they've still always been not only good but also well-made. And they almost always have something completely new week per week. Their bacon is also incredible, with a wide variety of flavors. I still prefer maple, personally, but I appreciate the numerous options (Custom sliced, better price and quality than Wegmans). Of course they also offer burgers, flavored hotdogs, smoked sausages and meat sticks, local goods of all sorts (Including salty bread and cheesy eddies). While they do close in the late fall for winter, and early spring, they still provide you a chance to order all the meat you want to hold out until they reopen in March. All vacuum-packed, for free, to order. I spent a paltry amount last year that didn't last me more than two months, and this year I plan on a much larger haul. Do be warned that pick-up day will have a long line, even with their new building. tldr: My only regret is not knowing about Costanza's sooner than I did. We definitely enjoy Costanza's sausage, and were happy to see they were open yesterday during the business recovery mode, so we stopped to get some tasty treats! Operating business in these trying times is definitely challenging. Costanza's are attempting to abide by CDC and mandated guidelines. They require masks, proper social distancing, and occupancy requirements (no more than 8 customers in the store at one time, when busy.- only enter when someone leaves, etc). Rules are posted on the door. The problem I experienced was that it is difficult to see how "busy" it was inside when you are outside the front door. I waited until a customer exited before entering and inside there were only about 5 customers. However, those arriving later apparently entered upon arrival because it got more crowded (more that 8 maximum). Again, it is difficult to see how many are inside the store from outside. Customers may be reluctant to return if they feel crowded & unsafe on first visit during COVID. My suggestion is that an assigned Costanza employee monitor occupancy inside, and when busy, control customers entry, limiting it to 8... be outside the door and have new customers wait (socially distanced) until satisfied customer leaves.
