Stopped into red bird market and bought quite a few things. They have a great selection of sauces, pasta, and snacks! My favorite things I found were salty bread, and their homemade peanut butter (they have so many flavors!) Most of the stuff is local or made by them. Fairport is such a cute little town, and Redbird fits nicely into their shopping format. Made a trip specifically to Redbird after a friend who lives in Fairport shared their facebook page. A nice weekend mini roadtrip from Buffalo. Redbird has a huge variety of local unique products. For a small store it is jam packed with variety. Filled my cart with lots of goodies. Something I'd never think of but was delicious, key lime peanut butter pie! Yum! A couple of home made flavored peanut butters. Some River Rat cheese - though disappointed they didn't carry my favorite Ghost Pepper flavor. I guess since it's SO hot, it may not have much of a fan base, and smarter to stock more commonly like flavors - Oh well! So many different products and was happy with all of my finds. I definitely was not disappointed. Can see myself making the trip once or twice every year in the future. Will take advantage of good weather in order to enjoy some of the other shops around the town. read more

Red Bird Market may be my favorite place to buy snacks, though it is a full grocery store. They carry many Rochester brands like Fiz Soda, Perfect Granola, and Guglielmo's sauce, in addition to homemade peanut butter and pies, and your everyday staples like produce, milk, bread, and frozen foods. Last time I was in there they also sold greeting cards. Follow their Instagram to see what's new, they post new products regularly. Cute little shop with tons of local and small batch products on the shelves and in the freezers! They are certainly a destination if you make gift baskets with all the small items and candies and cookies they sell! The prices are a little high but that's what is to be expected for less mainstream items in a convenient downtown Fairport location. We tried some of their house nut butters and they were both really good. They also do food demonstrations/samples some days which is neat. Very friendly people. I am a fan of the Red Bird Market because it is locally owned and the people who work here for friendly and accommodating to your needs. Stopped by here recently and just planned on doing a walk through to check the place out, but I left with some delicious peanut butter. They have every flavor you can dream of and the best part is they let you taste the peanut butter before you buy it. Everything is made in house too, even better. The only thing that I dislike about these peanut butters is that there are added ingredients and lots of sugar. I purchased a honey roasted peanut butter and a cinnamon peanut butter and both were delicious, but only in small quantities due to the sweetness. They even had a sriracha peanut butter, which I didn't get to taste but it sounded interesting. They also had a few almond butter options as well. The containers aren't the biggest, but for the peanut butter it's only $2.50 and I think that is very reasonable considering they are made in house. This store definitely does not have everything you could want when going grocery shopping but they had a decent amount. This would be the spot that I come to if I am at my house cooking and realize I forgot an ingredient and need to make a quick stop. Their items are definitely more expensive than what you would find in Wegmans but that can be expected in a store such as this one. They sell bagels, which are very cheap and from what I hear tasty. They have a freezer section and an area with some produce, seemed slightly minimal to me. One thing I loved about this place was their dry mix section! The wall on the left immediately after entering has tons of various dry soup mixes, dip mixes, etc. I thought this was great and they had a bunch of low sodium options. I support locally owned businesses and nice people so definitely check this place out! read more

I can't tell you how many times I find myself fixing dinner and I discover one ingredient that I need. On those nights when you just can't bear the thought of going to Wegmans and being hit in the ankles by the carts of cell phone chatty cathys, go to Red Bird! The specialty peanut butters are the bomb. You can put together the most incredible gifts and baskets at Red Bird. Great little market in the village of Fairport. I love that they support local vendors and offer a punch card system to let you earn $off your purchases or a reusable market bag. They are alsoa Dobson station for the localfood pantry. Keep up the great community spirit. read more

Tiny, but good. You can't do all of your shopping here but you can pick up things like local honey (if you have allergies) and it's still one of the few places where you can get pasta from The Ravioli Shop now that Bill Kenny has closed his retail locations on North Winton Road and Courtney Drive. It's great to visit here after attending the Fairport Farmers Market in the summer. read more

I am a regular here. I like the personalized atmosphere and helpfulness of the personnel, not to mention the owners! Today however, the help was very pushy and I left in a rush. Some items offered are not found in the huge grocery chains which is delightful and very convenient. A newsletter is found on the Internet and samples are offered occasionally. read more
