Pop-up toast in the foreground and croissant breakfast sandwich in the back

Best spot for baked goods at the market Delicious breakfast offerings as well as breads and pastries Sit and eat next door at javas or take it to go

Just follow the smell of bread baking while shopping at the Rochester Public Market and it will lead you here. It is a very small store so not much room as it is always busy. Going early is a must as the bread sells out quickly. Many different artisan breads and pastries to chose from.

Spinach & feta

I am writing this review and just wishing I was at Flour City RIGHT NOW enjoying a spinach & feta pastry. If you're reading this, at any time, get on your bike and go to Flour City and order this calorically dense, perfectly formulated, served with love PASTRY. Oh my lanta. I had skipped Flour City during my market trips because I am line averse and usually always on the hunt for a BEC from Scotts II. But not this past weekend. My partner wanted a danish, so on the line we hopped. AND MY LIFE WAS CHANGED. I will be back for a breakfast sandwich soon, and vow to never skip Flour City Bread Co again, my waistline be damned. I am seeing some comments on here about price, but everything was right where I assumed locally sourced, delicious, homemade bread products would be. I want to eat through each carby option and live a happy carb life forever. Vegan options, sweet options, savory options. Just go, my friends.

This bakery by far the best one in the Rochester area. Everything they make is so delicious. Especially the croissants! They are the best!

This Panettone!!! WOW!!! What a lovely treat to start our holiday. Soft and moist, and pulls apart with ease. Perfect balance of sweet, salty, sour & bitter... beautifully aromatic with citrus candied fruit. I ate a huge slice and feel like I barely ate any... it is so light. YUM!! Best ever. And I've eaten it in Italy!

A few weeks ago, the hubs and I finally came out of our pandemic "hibernation" in our cave (house) and ventured to the Public Market for some groceries. While there, we wandered in to Flour City Bread Company and ordered breakfast sandwiches. YUM! Lemme say that agin -- YUM! Enjoyed them with a Java's cuppa. And it felt SO GOOD to be out again! And eating delicious foods!!! Yay for the tried-and-true, consistent Flour City Bread Company breakfast sandwiches. And fougasse! We also got a fougasse to nosh on, and make sandwiches from. So olive-y and salty/delicious!!!

Special thanks to James who does an awesome job greeting all the customers !

Love Flour City. Quaint, simple storefront with absolutely delicious pastries, breads, and desserts. The pretzels are tremendous!

I visited because I saw on IG that they had banh mi hand pies for AAPI month! I thought I'd mosey…read moreover at around 9:30AM, but by the time I got there they were already sold out of the hand pies T__T I guess that meant they must have been really good? But it doesn't mean I left empty handed! The display was so beautiful and there were a ton of Asian-inspired flavors, I bought a lot and STILL want to go back to try the other pastries! All the pastries were beautifully made, and not too sweet (the pinnacle of Asian parent compliments when it comes to sweets LOL) Jasmine and pear scone: fruity, a touch of florals at the end, and very moreish. I was supposed save half for another day...let's just say that didn't happen. Lemongrass panna cotta: very light panna cotta with a layer of coconut, ginger, and lime zest encased in lemongrass jelly. The flavors are very earthy and work well together Mango sticky rice pie: I loved the crust on their pies, it's just the right thickness and the crimping is super satisfying to look at. Again, not too sweet, with a rice-based whipped topping . I kind of wish the mango flavor was a little stronger, but it feels like the flavors are naturally achieved rather than with artificial flavoring so I can't complain. Love love love, can't wait to come back and see what else they have in store!

Crust pie has a rotating selection of unique full pies, mini pies, and hand pies. They also have frozen pies available to take home and bake. So far everything that I've tried has been delicious! I really wanted to try their seasonal maple pie, but they had sold out quickly. Apparently their pies are just too good! The owner was very nice and helpful. She was able to advise me on the best pie to get given my allergies and dietary restrictions. Highly recommend!

This is such a cute place! I had heard so much about their ice-creams so I had been wanting to…read morecheck it out. I got a double scoop with pistachio biscotti and cherry vanilla bean. Both flavors were incredible: super creamy and rich. My friend got chocolate almond fudge, and that was just as good. We also grabbed some baked treats to go (brownie, whoopie pie, and muffins), and everything tasted amazing. Other than sweet treats, they also have coffees and teas on their menu, and a bunch of different dairy products. It feels cozy, local, and authentic - like everything is fresh or straight from the farm. It's actually part of a long-standing local farm operation, which makes the experience feel even more genuine. I also loved that they support other local businesses and sell products from them, it adds to that community feel. Overall, this place is more than just an ice cream stop, it's a whole experience. Definitely coming back.
