This is the busiest Costco in SGV. The employees are nice enough unfortunately it's the crowds of people that shop this Costco that are absolutely unbearable. They have no sense of spacial awareness and drive the same way they push their cart. If you must go to this location, this will help your sanity: 1. Be there when they open 2. Quickly shop your list 3. Exit ASAP! Otherwise you will be stuck in a war-zone of nasty shoppers! read more

First of all, parking is saturated. Secondly, people expect workers to do everything for them . Get your own boxes and your own carts.I was waiting for a sample and everyone behind me got it before. I mean come on it's just a sample buy your own. Staff were nice and friendly. I think what makes this store score low is the people who shop there. LOL while I agree about the people and the parking in general, we must clarify a few things. people fight for spots all the time. I would say the solution is to park a bit farther away and people will usually not try to yell at you for "taking" their spot. with regards to getting shoved around inside and there being people that leave their carts around randomly... I lived in NJ and NYC for a while so... I've just gotten to the point where I MOVE other people's carts and tell them, "gotta get through". I don't shove people around, but I make sure to let them know if they've been rude or shoved me... most of the time they hurry away scared hahaha (my lines are usually "excuse you", "what is your problem" or "you DO realize I have a baby in the cart with me?!?!") It's not really Costco's fault, its just that there is ALWAYS a crowd at most of their stores.. and this one is particularly full with absentminded, possibly rude people. Omg went to the cafe to order a pizza. I was told 15 minutes. I come back. 10 minutes more. I do some shopping and called them from inside the store. The lady on the phone she can't tell me cause she is not handling the stove. Wtf. You can't walk over and see if my pizza is done I'm inside the store spending over 200 dollars worth of food. I'm told I have to come to the window. Ok I go. And 5 more minutes. I order the pizza at 1030 and it was not done until after 12 WTH. THEY MUST HAVE GIVEN MY PIzza to some one else. Smh read more

Came in on 6/14/16. Was in a rush and need to renew my membership. Wanted to downgrade so had to go to customer service. After my renewal we back to the front of the line to pay for the items they were holding for me. The cashier was busy with a guest, and Art C. was already colosing out and notice that I was in a rush and helped me out right away. Art had great sense of awarness and went above and beyone. I love the Costco company itself but I'm disappointed they changed their bagels to this Einstein brAnd. I haven't had their bagels in a while. I know bagels are considered a type of bread but it shouldn't feel or taste like bread. Bagels have a smooth, softer feel to them. I hope they go back to their original bagels, those were bomb. Anyways, going back to this location, I love that it's close to home and Costco is a one stop shop and I make sure I make all my purchases here for the week so I don't have to come back for a few weeks. My gripe would be the crowd, the parking and the people that shop here. Its like no one pays attention to their surroundings, like they won't even notice you walking by and they'll cut you off. I also want to point out the fact that I came on Tuesday to do a return and I was not greeted or had any eye contact with the two people at the register. They were too busy talking amongst each other that my presence didn't matter. The only time they talked to me was when they asked me why I was returning the item. This was very annoying. I expect more from Costco given the fact that I pay for my membership and I also purchase items from here pretty frequently. This is my first year being a Costco member. I got my membership in Greensboro, NC when visiting my daughter. Her store is amazing. This one has been, up to today, a chore I put off until I can't anymore. Today was one of those days. I went in a gathered most of my needed items and headed to checkout. I put my items on the conveyer belt and right after they started to check me out, I realized that a much needed item had been forgotten. I lamented out loud and the guy putting items in the cart said he'd go get it for me. I finished the transaction, and then saw the guy bringing back two choices for me. I chose which one and then he pointed me towards a small desk at the front where I could check out with that one item. He went above and beyond for a less than five dollar sale (of that one item). Not sure if I'll renew in August, but I'm closer to doing it than I was earlier this morning. read more

CRAZY CROWDED EVERYDAY ALL DAY! I have been shopping at Costco Alhambra for over 20 years. Each year it has gotten more crowded and over populated with Asians. If you don't arrive just as the gate is open than you are in for a crazy shopping experience where you have to be in a "defense" mode otherwise you will get run over by a cart or stuck in a traffic jam of carts trying to make you way through the produce section. However, today my beef is with the Wireless Kiosk inside Costco Alhambra, Ca. On May 11, 2017 I decided to buy my new phone, Samsung Galaxy 8+, from the Wireless Kiosk. The purchase and transferring of data went smoothly. But after 3 weeks the phone has a defective and under the 90 warranty I can exchange it for a new phone. To make this brief the bottom line is that the customer service by the reps that work at the Wireless Kiosk is hit or miss and therefore after 3 trips to exchange my phone I still have not been able to make the exchange due to the inexperience and unprofessional quality of people that work at this Wireless Kiosk. Lesson learned: Never buy a phone at the Wireless Kiosk inside a Costco. Linda, a Costco member who will buy food and vitamins but never a cell phone at Costco. read more

To reiterate a point many already know, Costco is a place for great, great prices. I use Costco primarily to buy drinks, since buying them here compared to Vons or Ralphs is cheaper by orders of magnitude. No kidding, I bought a 36 pack of bottled water for 3 bucks. Now, I usually hate buying water simply because many places offer it free from water fountains, but 36 pack for 3 dollars*?? Absolutely amazing. That's less than 10 cents a bottle. However, what I find truly amazing about Costco is simply the deliciousness of the items they private label. Their muffins are exquisite; huge and dense with buttery flavor. Their hot dogs and polish sausages are always served piping hot and in fresh baked buns. I'm not sure about the last part about fresh buns, since I made it up, but it sounds nice so I decided to include it. What truly wins me over, however, is their pizza. To give you an idea of how much I love it, I once waited over 30 minutes for just one slice (of cheese). And the price! Just a little over 2 dollars for a fat piece of cheese pizza and unlimited soda. And when they mean unlimited, it really is. I've been using the same cup I bought weeks ago to refill it, and no one has said a word!!! The only reason I didn't give Costco 5 stars is because it gets way too congested, which in effect severely limits the maximum speed on my shopping cart. * Although the savings aren't quite as mind boggling for the premium, brand name items like Snapple, it's still incredibly cheaper than any other supermarket retailer. read more

To add genius to this poorly run Costco, they have started adding pallets of product into the aisles. So navigating the store around crowds people looking clearly lost has become even worse. Of coarse, there are boxes everywhere and the place is in complete disarray. One-quarter of the checkout lanes are closed and I am writing this review while standing in line for 25+ minutes to checkout. Like all Costco locations, the prices are extremely low. However, this is probably the most crowded Costco I have ever encountered. It is extremely difficult to find parking. The checkout lines are also especially long, even by Costco standards. If you want to avoid the long lines and parking issue, I recommend the Los Feliz and Azusa location. read more

Costco Alhambra has really never disappointed me. Aside from the great prices and quality products in the store, this Costco location also has a Vision Center, complete with great optometrists, eyeglass frames and prescription contact-lenses. Most recently, I stopped by the Costco Tire Center (which is the main reason why I was motivated to do this review) and was very pleased with their service. I do recommend arriving there early in the morning, specially on Saturdays. But it's worth it! To make things even better, I was able to use a coupon which slashed $70 off the final price on a full set of brand-name tires. Funny, I no longer live near the Alhambra area, yet I always find myself going to that particular location (hours and services vary depending on store). One last thing, they only take Debit Credit Cards or American Express. I hope this review is helpful! read more

VERY CROWDED- Don't get me wrong, I've always loved going to Costco. I've been to several costcos before and this has to be the worst by far. Long lines, crowded, less food options, and just a horrible experience in general. One particular experience where My daughter was lining up in the food court. She eagerly wanted to order so I let her. She was waiting to buy some pizza and a smoothie. She was in line for a couple of minutes, usually lines are EXTREMELY LONG. However this wasn't bad at all. When she got to the register, the guy taking her order accused her of cutting in line. Excuse me? He did not ask her once but four times if she was in line. What kind of person does this?! I found that extremely rude and sickening. Why would an adult tell a little girl who just wanted to order food was she in line?! Why would she cut? The lines weren't particularly long and it was only a few minute wait. There's no need to cut and my daughter knows better than to cut in line. Just know, there are way better Costcos out here and this isn't your only option. I don't recommend coming here at all read more

I went to Costco Vision @ Alhambra with my child for her eye glasses. We chose two frames and was told by Joseph that one of the frames was the last one. Asked for a discount since it was a demo/off the shelf item. The polite response was "no". Joseph was nice and helpful, but no discount on a demo is not the best practice of any businesses. The lack of providing better customer services that ultimately, I think, would drive customers away from B/M and towards online shopping. read more

I am a new member to Costco. On my second trip to the store, I noticed that they offered services to include a water softening system by a Warren Buffet controlled company Ecowater. I am told that you can trust Costco and Warren certainly has a lot of fans. It seemed like a perfect fit. I called and left a message. The next day the call was returned and an appointment scheduled for a in house pitch. The original appointment was for yesterday at 4:00. I received a call from the sales person, Adarius, who asked if he could move the appointment back to 5:00 - no problem. Then I get a text at 5:00 asking to move the appointment back to 8:00. Won't work, so we scheduled it for today between 5 & 6:00. He calls during the day to confirm. At 5:51, I get a text asking to move the appointment back to 8:00 - no thank you. Both Costco and Ecowater should be embarrassed by this level of service. I will find another water provider and I will never use a service company from Costco. I will just buy the 48 roll package of toilet paper and 15 bottle case of Pellegrino! read more

Besides overcrowed parking, they are two kind of people who buy at this store, the ones with big families, and the small families of one or two, most of the small families, waste their money buying quantities and then throwing away half of the products due to spoiled or expiration, the only items i buy there ,are craraisins, hand soap, and in the future decaff coffee. read more

I've been to many Costco locations and this one is my least favorite so far. No matter what time you go there it's always packed to the point where you can't even walk without bumping into someone or something. I also dislike the layout, I have a really hard time finding stuff because of the way they have the isles organized, it's totally ridicuous that you find the soy milk behind the personal care isle and the diapers and babywipes next to the dogfood etc....it's just arranged like they are trying to make us all waste an extra hour trying to find stuff on purpose, then again it's probably one of their marketing strategies, because they figured this way we may run into some extra items and decide to buy the last minute. Like all other Costcos, the parking lot is pure hell blah blah blah....I just wish they would arrange their stuff accordingly. read more

I refuse to come here on weekends. Parking is a pain and it's just difficult to even push a cart around inside. My favorite time to come here is Friday after work around 6pm. Go in, get my things and come out. For some reason their coupon books does not get mailed to my home. So I always go to the front to pick up one before I go in. They always seem to have a few just lying around there. They always have lots of items in stock that are on sale. The cashier's are fast and friendly. I always seem to spend at least hundred dollars everytime but still convince myself I'm saving money by coming here. read more

I must say the Supervisor at this store is so rude!!!! I have unfortunately encounter myself with her twice. The first time was for a little problem I had but the second time around I did not like it so much only because I saw someone else get treated rudely as well. The gentleman behind me had asked the cashier ( which was the supervisor) if he could make a suggestion to the supervisor and she replied ok well I'm the supervisor. He kindly suggested that their should be a handicap line for people like him ( he was an elderly man) who can not stand for long periods at a time. She replied in a sarcastic way "well all the lines are handicap lines...would u like a wheelchair? Next time if u would like a wheelchair they are located in the front of the store" I was so disgusted by how ugly she was to this cute old man. The Costco store in San Juan Capistrano is UNDERCOOKING their bbq chickens. We have loved them in the past, however the last six months they are not edible. I talked with the managers and they state they have recieved other complaints regarding this issue, however state that they have not changed their cooking methods but blame it on the chickens themselves that they receive not cooking properly. Has anyone else expericenced this problem with Costco bbq chickens? read more

I love Costco, so this has nothing to do with the franchise. This Costco, is one in which I will never return. My husband and I discussed how often we thought people would cut us in line or mow us over with their carts. Not ten minutes of being there, I was full forced rammed in the elbow with a shopping cart! I was not even inside yet! I was doubled over in pain and just glad I was not holding my toddler at the moment! Some of the people who shop here are ruthless excuses for human beings. I shop at Alhambra Costco at least once a week. I'd avoid stopping during weekend as it is always packed. I know where items are organized and easily pick up the items. I also get gas from Costco as well. Price is lower compared to other gas stations in Monterey Park and Alhambra areas. Strongly recommend the executive membership with 2% rebate and get a 2nd membership card for family member. I've been getting more than $100 annually to offset the membership fee. Based on 10+ years of 2-3 times a month visits, generally have received very good to excellent service. Product selection not always the best products within the product lines. Can expect long lines with no consideration by their management to having lines for those with less than 5 items, say. Frozen food and cold food purchases can and do suffer.. .Long lines for food and gas, too; lesser lines for automotive work. Parking is getting tight. A couple of restaurants within walking distance, including a Chinese buffet on Commonwealth. A Target is adjacent the Costco property with good parking. Not to lament, but now long-gone Fedco discount store operations had better overall quality in the products sold. Unfortunately, Costco sells price before it sell quality. Fedco sold more quality and then price. Sometimes you can get quality service from their more experienced people. . read more
