Daiso will forever have a special place in my heart, and this location is easily one of my favorites! Not only is it the closest location to me (which makes spontaneous shopping trips dangerously convenient lol), but they also consistently have such a great selection of items. I absolutely love browsing through their clean, organized aisles because there's always something cute, interesting, or surprisingly useful waiting to be discovered. From adorable pet accessories and Sanrio goodies (especially the Cinnamoroll items that instantly catch my attention) to gardening supplies, plushies, stationery, kitchenware, craft items, snacks, and all kinds of random but genuinely useful finds, this store really feels like a treasure hunt every single time. Another reason why I enjoy visiting this location so much is because it's honestly rarely ever too busy during my visits, which makes shopping here feel much more relaxing and enjoyable. I can actually take my time browsing around without feeling overwhelmed or cramped, and I really appreciate that peaceful atmosphere. The workers here are also always incredibly kind, polite, and welcoming. The staff does a wonderful job maintaining the store and providing consistently great service, which genuinely makes the shopping experience even better. I also appreciate how well stocked and organized everything usually is because I almost always discover something new every time I stop by. The affordability is another huge plus too because you can treat yourself to a bunch of cute little finds without feeling too guilty afterward lol. Whenever I have to go and grab stuff before or after going to Asayoru Maid Cafe in the same plaza, this Daiso has come in clutch, especially for cheki (polaroid) storage and oshikatsu goods. It also comes in handy when there's free events that get super hot and draining me, so their refrigerated drinks work really well for that. In the past, this shop was pretty bad with dimmed lights and not having the AC on, but things have gotten better in the past several months, which is great. There's 2 self check out kiosks and you can also check out with the staff there as well. Standard Daiso prices that have unfortunately also increased with the raised prices of just simply existing, but I did notice that a lot of the gummy candies that I used to get for the standard price is now almost $4. Why? Either way, not a bad Daiso. Sometimes it's a bit disorganized and messy, but that just goes to show how much stock that they have. read more

Daiso is your place to get random things at an affordable price. I like the quality of items at Daiso compared to Dollar Tree. I noticed a lot of Daiso's are self checkout only. I saw one staff member stocking up the snacks and asked if they had this random item I needed. She directed me towards the appropriate aisle and I was in and out of the store within a few minutes. Even though the item label was priced at ¥220, the barcode priced it at $4.50. The pricing of some items might not be up to date, but I guess you'll just have to find out at the check out counter. read more

Usually at other Daiso's they welcome you in but the girl just looked at me with a miserable look, and when I was ready to check out I smiled at her and started approaching her and she just gave me a stank face and said "I'm not ready." And I was just like "oh.." and made my way to self check out. She didn't even redirect me or anything. This is a great Daiso location that is near ELAC. I always tend to buy many things that I don't necessarily need so I try to have some self control. Most items are fairly cheap and then they will also have some bigger ticket items that will be more. So make sure to check the price so there's no surprises. There's a big range from anything from snacks to household items to accessories there's many things that you can find here. This is a great store just like the other ones. The team is very helpful and accommodating. Make sure that you follow where in the checkout line is and their team members working the different registers will call you over if there is a queue. The parking can be kind of tough especially with a lot of one-way traffic and sometimes not everyone is paying attention. I can get a little bit congested but normally it's shouldn't be too bad under normal circumstances. read more

2023/050 I have been to different Daiso locations but by far I love this. Store is well organized by numbered aisles and labeled like in a grocery store. It was easier to find what you are looking for. Daiso is a large franchise discount chain store with locations in 25 countries worldwide. It started in Japan as a street vending shop selling 100Yen equivalent to US $0.78 way back in 1972. Before the pandemic most items were priced $1.50. Today most items are priced at $1.75. They have clearance sales and items marked down at a dollar or less. I just love shopping at this store. read more

You WILL take maybe an hour or more just browsing through every aisle. The possibilities are really endless. Quite similar to the idea of like a dollar store. They have small knickknacks, and an assortment of different items in different categories. They have stationary, bathroom products, kitchenware, house decor, toys and even car accessories. All the items are cute and seem to cater to a one person/student unit in Japan. They also have singular drinks, chips, sweets and noodle packs. There's something for everyone. It's very clean and bright. It's also quiet and well kept. Pros: Good stock since opening again. Clean, well-organized, line was not long. Cons: Customer service is immensely lacking. Cashier 00017541, Register 2 was glued to her personal cell phone while waiting for customers to come to the counter. After scanning the items, she continually stared into her phone, never looking up or making eye contact. The only time she spoke was when she blurted out the total while staring at her cell phone and handed me the receipt with eyes still on the cell phone. She did not push the items away from her or ask if I wanted a bag (I was willing to pay for one). I had to reach over the counter and grab my items. Dear Daiso, a robot would have been better than this person you hired. Please retrain her or replace her with someone who has more etiquette and respect for your company and its customers. I hate going into these Daiso stores because I always plan on buying one specific thing and end up with a bag full of items ... compulsive buying just because LOL. They carry small plastic containers which I use often and then I end up with other nicknacks just browsing the aisles. The store was very busy and the line was very long but moved quickly. read more

There are so many useful items and almost everything is $1.50 . I'm honestly rethinking re-doing my apartment and just redecorating it with lots of Daiso things (it's really possible...) Holy crap on a cracker (as Penny says from "Big Bang Theory", it's true almost all items are 1.50, few will be priced either a $1 (like snack items) to $3 to $5 for ex. That is still not bad. I have yet to visit the one in Gardena, my old stomping grounds & home of my other favorite Japanese Mart - Marukai Market. Parking can be a little challenging at times, mainly because in this plaza it's full of stores & small parking for all of them. Just a gut feeling, I'm sure it gets awfully crowded on the weekends. This is my favorite of the 4 Daiso's I've visited. It's close to my house. It's not busy. The walk ways aren't super crowded. It is one of the two larger Daiso's. It has a great selection. Prior to the pandemic, I used to go to this Daiso on Atlantic in Monterrey park once a week. It was well stocked. It was easy to find everything I could possibly want. From stationary, crafts, kitchen, cleaning, pet items and so, so much more. Yep, 2 Daiso in MPK. Who would've thought? And both of them are on Atlantic, which I think is pretty funny. I haven't been to the Daiso at the new Atlantic Times Square due to all the reviews commenting on how cramped it was coupled with a crappy parking situation. I mistakenly thought that this Daiso was in the old Atlantic Times square plaza (with Chipotle, Ralphs, Rite Aid, Jamba, Starbucks, etc...) but in reality, it is ACROSS the street in the same plaza as CVS. Parking is okay, though exiting/entering the plaza can be a pain. I suggest entering the back way (via Collegian Ave) for easier access and parking. This Daiso is definitely a decent size, and it doesn't feel cramped at all. Staff is friendly and the selection is good. I definitely see myself here when I need to pick up cheap necessities vs. going to a 99 cent store. I'm so glad that another Daiso opened up in Monterey Park! I was surprised that, especially on the grand opening day, the Daiso wasn't crowded like a sardine tin! I'm hoping that ELAC students don't cluster in the store esp. since its right across the college. (Blast you ELACers! This was one of the nicest and most organized store of this chain that I have been to. It's basically the Asian version of 99 Cents stores with some items being priced differently and labeled with a price sticker. They really do sell adorable stuff there for cheap and good quality as well. I ended up grabbing three face masks because they weren't available at the store by my work. Each store provides the same kind of products ranging from arts and crafts to home goods, but the items they provide might vary a bit from store to store and you never know if they will restock on certain items again. Just be fair warned that if you lack self control you may walk out of the store with stuff you don't really need hehe read more

Probably my 2nd favorite Daiso compared to the Atlantic Square and Rosemead location. If you didn't know, this is basically the Japanese Dollar Tree-- except most items are $1.50. Another tip is that ALL SALES ARE FINAL & MINIMUM $10 for credit transactions. This location is in a busy plaza, so parking can be cray to the cray sometimes. However, the store is pretty neat and organized compared to the other Daisos. Oh, and the lines aren't too awful. First of all I don't think I should be allowed to come here often lol. I come here to get ONE thing and get lost in the store for almost an hour. Doing what? I have no idea! But this location is not that great. Only because the store gets really cluttered and there is too much stuff going on inside. The register exit is super crammed. I prefer going to the one off Valley in the same shopping center as Ranch 99. But thats about it! There is nothing really to hate about this Daiso in general! 3.5 stars to be honest, due to untrained employees, but I'll be nice as their items are still well stocked and maintained well. Strange that they're right next to the dollar store, but they are far better maintained with many more trinkets and little things to choose from. I came here to buy random Xmas props and whatnot (gotta get ready for the holidays!) and they had a tooooon of awesome stuff. Of course, I came out with more than just holiday decor....you pretty much go into Daiso with one thing on your mind and you come out with 10. My only gripe is that the cashier girls (at least mine) was chatting up a storm with the others and talking about random personal things...didn't really pay much attention to my things and customer service was non-existent. My first Daiso experience was here! OMG talk about overwhelming! If you have never been to a store like this I suggest blocking out at least an hour to go through the entire store. We found some worthwile deals & cool stuff. Location is ideal because it is freeway close. Losts of cheap eats nearby too for recharging after shopping workout. lol Store has everyday home basics, school supplies, beauty supplies, few hardware items, & some snacks. Cool find is the actually sell real Meiji chocolate products from Japan. Watch out for Meiji products made elsewhere, they do not taste the same. When I go to a store its rare that when I ask for an item someone will take me directly to it but here they did!! Now that's what I call excellent customer service! I love the fact the the store has samples! So that no one is tempted to open items or have to wonder if whatever they are buying is what they need. For example, I can try their eye shadow & know if the colors are as bright/dark as they seem OR see if the trash bags are big enough etc. . . When I was ready to pay the cashier greeted me with a smile!. . .I came in to buy one thing but left with more lol. I just had to buy their seaweed chips & they were sooo good!!
