I purchased 4 tires for my truck online. The cost was comparable to other tire shops I got pricing from. I made a 1pm appointment and arrived on time as scheduled. The shop bays were full and the crew was working on other customer vehicles. My truck was not touched until 2pm. Very disappointed that they cannot keep a schedule as if my time doesn't matter. Cafeteria is being managed terribly. I called in and asked to place an order for just one pizza for a work lunch and the woman on the phone told me they are not taking phone orders. Instead to just come in because it's first come basis. I said okay and asked what the wait time was looking at, she said everyone is getting their pizzas right away. Sounded good to me. I showed up within ten minutes, placed my order at the kiosk and began my wait. It's been just over one hour that I've been standing in the sun waiting for my order. I'm writing this review as I stand around waiting in this massive crowd of people waiting for their orders. If there's a huge crowd, and your backed up with food taking an hour plus to receive just say so. I've since compromised my lunch break at work and have a new problem to worry about. On top of that, I've heard at least 5 people come up and pick up telephone orders. Why were they able to place phone orders for STACKS of pizzas, yet I was denied to place an order for just one? Unfortunately this location does suffer from higher influx of individuals than comparable Costco's at other SGV locations, and often seems even more hectic than typical, although it appears to be improving its staffing to customer ratio in response. We just filed out the paper with what we wanted and when we were going to pick it up. Make sure to order ahead so that they have time to complete the order. Rudest people I have ever encountered are the customers at this Costco. It's so bad I won't even go anymore, I make my husband do it bc I can't stand being shoved out of the way for free samples or run into without so much as an excuse me or sorry. I have a membership and probably not using it to its max potential. I do like the update at the food court where you can purchase food at the kiosk and wait in line to pick up. I do think it speeds up the process. The cashier I encountered today kept pestering me to donate money to charity when I paid for grocery. I said not today and she went on and on about how I broke her heart. I made another purchase right after and she asked me again if I want to donate to charity. I said not today. She said I broke her heart again. I told her that she can't guilt trip me into donating if I can't or don't want to. There's other places to donate to. Costco cashier isn't the only place to make a donation. Sometimes I avoid coming to Costco because of the crowd, can't find parking and odd employees I've encountered. I was in the area and needed a few items and stopped by here on a busy Sunday afternoon. At first it was annoying because the line for the gas station extends into the parking lot entrance. Next time I'll enter the lot at the further entrance. After that, had a pretty good experience - there were a lot of Asian food items - guess it was time for mooncakes and there were lots to choose from. We ended up with some French cookies that I can't seem to find in my store and hubby tried a new whiskey at a nice price from the nice liquor selection. We had a nice cashier, Higar. The customer before us didn't know to buy 2 bags of bagels, so he directed her to the plentiful stack by the registers so she didn't have to go back for them. read more

I have been a Costco member since 1995, back when it was still Price Club, but my recent experience with Costco Tires in Alhambra, CA was very disappointing. I called at 9:00 AM on a Sunday and spoke with a representative who assured me that my Tesla tire (with a nail in it) could be repaired, even though I didn't buy it from Costco. Based on that, I went in at 10:03 AM, spoke with an employee named Mario, paid for the service, and was told again that the tire could be repaired. However, almost three hours later (at 12:43 PM), I got a call from another rep, Jerry, who informed me that my tire couldn't be repaired because it wasn't purchased from Costco. This was a complete waste of my time and shows a lack of coordination and care for customers. As a long-time member, I expected better. I stayed in line 5 hours on a Monday to get a tire they didn't have my tires in stock after they already took my keys and made me purchase the tire. Now, I hate it even more. Just take a look at the pizza I had; it was definitely the thickest crust I've ever encountered. It's hard to beat Costco when comes to deals but I'm guessing the low reviews here are more related to the madhouse of all the customers that shop here rather than the store or store employees. Where else can you get great deals on food, electronics, tires, contact lens, clothing, HVAC units, car batteries, gift cards, toilet paper, gasoline and Kirkland brand 6 times distilled vodka??? Of the SGV Costco locations, the Alhambra location may be the craziest one because of its location. One thing that I hope Costco will add to this location that's at other locations like City of Industry is the self order/pay kiosks for the food court. That should help speed up the massive lines for pizza and hot dogs. read more

I'm boosting the stars as overall, they are duly worthy. Most all employees are motivated to be of help and tend to have an optimistic and favorable disposition, despite the frenzy of this most busy Costco that I've ever been to, and trust me, I've seen some crazed Costcos! I removed a star because of William a front loader cashier who has the most rotten attitude I've ever had the unpleasant opportunity having to be subjected to at Costco; he's truly cantankerous (i.e., no greeting, eye contact, nor thank you's after ringing myself or woman in front of me up), and he's Costco's official 'Oscar the grouch'! William is incongruous with Costcos normal overall attitude, willingness to assist, and treatment towards their customer's. His pic is below so steer clear of his line at all cost. He doesn't serve Costco well and may be a strong contributor to this locations most horrifying ratings. On a happier note, I was impressed how well stocked this Costco is and being fully loaded with whatever item you need. I've been coming to this Costco my entire life , never had I ever experience such a rude employee. I came in with my service dog and this guy was super rude when questioning me if he was a service dog.The first thing that came out of his mouth was "HELLO NO DOGS ALLOWED YOU DONT SEE THE SIGN" SUPER RUDE TO APPROACH A CUSTOMER LIKE THAT! . Two other employees had to grab his attention to calm him down on the way he was approaching me and just let me in because of how rude he was being tours me despite the fact that my dog is a service animal. I generally do not go to this Costco because it takes some maneuvering to get around in the parking lot and at the gas pumps. It's more centrally located in Alhambra so it tends to a busier location. Combined with a relatively inadequate size parking lot, it can be a nightmare. I like that they've now blocked off the main entrance on Commonwealth to force people to get into the gas station through the entrance on Palm. If I am not going to get gas, I like to enter through the second entrance on Commonwealth, to park where the beloved Souplantation used to be. Parking is typically emptier on this Southeast corner of the plaza and it's MUCH easier to get in and out of the lot. It was pretty packed in the warehouse bus surprisingly the self service checkout line was shorter wait and moved relatively quickly. Staff inside were nice and helpful in helping me scan the heavier items on the cart. After shopping, we picked up a slice of cheese pizza and hot dog with soda. I also got a chocolate chip cookie to try. My friend and her daughter split the pizza. I had the hot dog. They seemed to be out of relish so ketchup and mustard it is. The chocolate chip cookie was nice and warm, a decent size for the price. I would not get this again unless I was going to share because the cookie was thick. I prefer my cookies to be crunchy and the edges were perfect. The cookie offered the best of both worlds as the center was melty and had just the right amount of gooey chocolate. We had leftover cheese pizza but when I went to ask for a sheet of foil to cover it, they told me they were not allowed to give that out so I was surprised. Unfortunately, my friend and her daughter may have gotten food poisoning from the cheese pizza because within an hour or so they threw up. We all sampled the same things so it could only be narrowed down to the pizza slice they shared which I did not partake in. read more

I usually come across great employees but sometimes there can be one that can ruin your day. Today we came to buy a whole pizza and hotdog combos. We went to stand in line for pick up and we were behind a gentleman with a cart and another lady waiting by the window, when we hear a lady yelling pretty loud "come on come on come over here" (her tone was rude). I decided to ignore her at first because it was not my turn it was the gentleman with the cart. He went and she yelled again when I approached the window she said this is also a line and said something like we are trying to help you guys get your orders faster and I just said it's fine and stayed quite ( in reality I wanted to call her out for being rude but I didn't)! I'm sure she knew I was bothered my facial expressions always speak louder than my words :( Listen "Alejandra" from food court be nice because one day you can come across someone that will match your energy and you aren't going to feel good about it. I felt like kinda a kid in a candy store coming to this Costco! Whereas Costco one will find grass jelly drink, swallow nest soup, swallow nest drink, Australian abalone, Chinese sausages, American ginseng root (seasonal), Indian madras lentils, steamed bun called bao, tamarind candies, Korean style noodles, soft and hard tofu, etc., all under one big roof in this Costco in Alhambra California! Parking was plenty but traffic coming into this facility was rough & tough. The best time to come will be an hour before closing time. Shhh.. don't let the cat outta bag. being an Angelino, I hate fighting the traffic. But, it is worth it for me to search things what I didn't seek. Surprise is what I seek going there every time to see what new thing I may find to feed my adrenaline rush. I usually don't have a problem finding what I need aside this visit I was on a search for a sou vie probe with no luck. But OMG!!!!!! The people that shop there are just the rudest people ever! It doesn't matter what walk of life they come from, the theme with all is "get out of my way" attitudes! Shoving through with those big carts acting as if they are the only people in the store and they have VIP status. Some of the staff also wears gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some outdoor seating available with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing my food from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is massive; however, they do share the lot with a plethora of businesses in the plaza. I hate coming here during the weekends because it is always jammed packed. If you come here during the weekday, parking is so much easier to find. Also, some parking spots are smaller than others. However, today my mother and I went to the costco food court and I have never experienced such a negative employee. This employee Sophie was so rude to me when I asked a simple question. She had an attitude when i approached the window and when I asked the question she made a face that made me seem stupid and didnt even give me an answer and walked away and handed me my items aggressively. As a teenager who works in customer service, I'm not even this rude to customers. So the fact that this grown women was so rude, it really ruined my day.
