Wowsers! What's with the mediocre reviews? I've been going into this Costco for many years. Have always found employees to be friendly & helpful. Rarely have I caught attitude. That said, I wouldn't know what the manager looks like. The pharmacy is particularly awesome. I know them by name. They have gone to bat for me so many times I've lost count. When they miss a refill or make a mistake, they own up to it and make it right. The only suggestions I'd make would be to try and maintain stock so I can count on it being there next time. Can be frustrating when they don't have an item you rely on and have bought there before. Also, not having an option to reload my cash card (used for gas purchases) online is very inconvenient. Regardless, my favorite brick and mortar store. And to the naysayers, give them a break - if you ever work retail you'll know what a grind it is. Costco employees have a tough job interacting with the public and working varied shifts on a weekly basis - it's not as easy as you might think. Especially with the consistently high volume they do. Addendum - the one thing that Costco - and sadly, most other retailers - do is to rush the holiday seasons. It's August and they already have Halloween items out. Doing so preempts the excitement of the season, and it seems to me that Costco is one of the worst offenders. It is definitely one of my more serious pet peeves of current-day marketing. As most of you know, Costco is pretty great. I particularly love that they've vastly expanded their organic options over the last few years. Is it sad that discovering wonderful, new, organic products at Costco is both fun and stress-relieving? Come on...you know you like the samples just as much as the next guy. And what about those $1.50 hot dog/soda combos? Yeah yeah, it's full of nitrates and completely terrible for you...but the price and taste make it justifiable! And once you've gone that far and indulged in a huge meat stick, you might as well purchase a deep fried dough stick for dessert...hurray for $1 churros! We were craving fish for dinner. So, we picked up one pack of sole fish and 2 packs of cod fish along with other items on a Wednesday afternoon. We cooked the sole fish that evening and it was very good. We will be making delicious misoyaki butterfish with the cod soon. I also picked up a hardcover book to read on my trip back home. This Costco is great, the lines are not long and there are a lot of selections in the seafood section. I also enjoyed tasting the products that they were offering as samples. I enjoyed the chocolate shake as well as the butter chicken sauce that I tried. I will visit this location soon and see if they have razor clams next time In the seafood section. read more

I ordered a pizza over the phone. When we arrive the parking lot is a hot mess and While in the looong line the kids want a polish dog, cool no big deal. Get up to the counter and told this location doesn't have polish dogs? Whatever we'll take regular hotdogs. Cashier asked if we wanted a receipt, no thanks not needed....boy was I wrong. As we are leaving with a pizza and three hotdogs the people at the door are annoyed we don't have a receipt and give us a hard time . We get home and the pizza isn't even flipping cut, seriously?!?! When you leave Costco, you feel defeated for having spent so much on all the stuff there. Every item because they cost ~$10 for the quantity your buying adds up quick. I went to Costco Aloha location on Thursday November 11 around 2:00 PM to pick up one item which I ordered on line. I expected it will be very smoothly, just pick it up and go. Unfortunately I got a salty taste of customer service from one employee. I wasn't greet for help or anything. When I approached to a lady, her name starting with letter B, for instructions. She just told me to use a code from my email and she walked away. More over than that she ignored me even though another employee reminded her that I need help. This Costco is the closest to my home but is a little smaller than the one in Hillsboro that I usually patronize. I've been an executive member for quite a few years. Because of Costco's rebate plan, my annual renewal is usually free... sometimes with cash back. The place can be crowded and checkout lines can be long. But the checkers are usually good at moving people through quickly. The stuff they stock is usually very good quality and you can't beat the prices. Costco is handling the pandemic mostly well, in spite of a few Karens here and there like the one who went batso in Hillsboro. Restricted entry and a lot of floorwalking seem to help keep things as safe as possible. They have straightened out the supply chain and I saw no quantity limitations. Even most of the shoppers seem to have finally grasped the concept that we should not crowd each other, that they have to wear masks like big boys and big girls, and that this is a bad time to stop in the middle of the aisle to look at new grandbaby pictures on one's phone. Here's the only thing that went shockingly wrong: while I was waiting to check out, a young employee (masked mostly correctly) barged right up within a foot and a half of me to try to sell me on the executive membership upgrade. It's not the upsell that bothers me; it's that of all people, the employees (most at risk) shouldn't be crowding anyone. They seemed genuinely shocked when I told them just so. Someone really needs to have a word with these folks. Other than that, the store is doing fine. read more

We love this location! We're here all the time and the staff are pretty friendly, the membership services are helpful and honest, and he food court is good. They're unbelievably busy on weekends, especially Sunday! Beware. Other than that, we love this Costco. read more

Wow! Is this place the best kept secret in town or what??? Husband and I braved the "crowds" on Saturday.. Um, I realize it's wedding/graduation/soccer season but where was everybody?? -- Samples galore and didn't get hustled out of the way by greedy customers! -- Nobody trying to absent-mindedly run us over with their carts laden with tp, 70-lb sack of dog food, and 2-packs of milk -- Literally one or two waiting customers per line/cashier. Check out was a breeze!! -- Plenty of seating in the food court! I can only imagine what sort of a ghost town this place is in the middle of a weekday... I don't go to Costco often. I know that is shocking to some, but I'm not a member. I live alone and it just doesn't seem worth carrying an extra card and the drive most times. Still, I come on occasion When a friend is going or something. This branch more often than not is where I seem to go, when I go. It is big with lots of parking, so expect a hike to the door. inside is big with lots of samples....oh and other stuff. The prices are good and the amounts deserve their fame but you know all that, this is an older branch not as nice or big as the one in Hillsboro. Ultimately it's a big clean warehouse of a space with all kinds of stuff and good service. I rarely make it out under 40 bucks....I hear that is cheap, but I don't have a lot of storage. Do not come to YELP if you're going to bitch and be petty. There will always be flukes in the system. A simple missed food order and you're ready to turn the world over. That's quite sad specially if what you're purchasing is a spare change. That said, the only thing that is quite irritating about this location is the parking design. It is everywhere like a zoo gone bonkers. Pedestrian is just everywhere. The stop signs are almost at every 20 feet. Oh well, I'm mostly in and out of the store so it doesn't bug me that much. I'm not a heavy shopper by any means. While I can enjoy a 30# bag of shrimp, I don't see the need for it as I don't host big parties or have a business that will require such amount. Do not despair, there are lots of useful things that you need and they surely have it. Their wine selection is getting better and better. The staff is pretty helpful and knowledgeable of what's in store. Their hours are reasonable. It's just sad when the last chicken was grabbed by the real housewife of Beaverton. Edgy staff today at checkout. I am a senior and was in the store early. Boxer for the cashier was a bit unpleasant and scolded me for not putting my small items on the conveyor belt. Obviously, I was busy with the cashier who was flustered trying to get my card, then realizing he shouldn't touch it, handing it back, etc. While in dialogue with the cashier the 'boxing asst' told me to get my small stuff out, he was just a 'helper', he stated. Wierd. Then he asked if I wanted boxes, I said sure. I got one small one for my bananas and honey only (Guessing his executive decision that I didn't need more.). I know it is a stressful time but this was 9:00 am, and I was their first customer at the station. Thanked him regardless and he didn't reply. read more

if you have a return or concern at the Beaverton location no matter what you do, do not talk to the Indian looking lady with the nose pierced she has the worst customer service. She will talk to you like she owns you. She has zero customer service. We have been Costco Members since the late 80s and are pleased with staff and services overall in the Beaverton area. In an Organization, I understand that there could be BAD apples once in a while. Tire Center is the worst part of Costco where you will find obnoxious people that find pleasure in derisively treating people. This morning, we picked up a battery from the Tire Center, a specific Daryl was manning the desk. We lined up where we were supposed to and he calls the couple behind us to go in front instead. The husband/ boyfriend commented to Daryl that we cut in front of them which made me furious! We were shoved behind them in the line. To straighten out the situation, I stated to the BF that" we were there before they got inline". To my surprise, Daryl showed support to the couple by saying that they had an appointment. Appointment or NO appointment, the rule is you still need to get in line! I love this country because of the rigid structures, rules, moral values, respect, etc. that are in place, but I see more and more of those values fading away. I find it sad and irritating since Costco is a service institution, they should abide by those rules, to begin with. Customer Service should be equally provided no matter what your ethnic background is. I hope they take that seriously.' read more

It is so stressful and disturbing when I make smoothies and it tastes like nothing but mold!!! I live nearby but quit shopping here ever since Hillsboro Costco opened. This week I decided to come back and see what might have changed. Well, nothing has changed, small space, too many people, long lines at check outs and not so friendly staff. I think I will stick with getting gas only at this location. The employees are always rude and never seem to care for customer's satisfaction. I placed an order for a combo pizza and it took them over half an hour to make it. This Costco location seriously needs some training in treating customers well and putting their priority first. This review is for Costco Tires. At the start of last winter, we got new winter/snow tires for our Subaru at this Costco, we started to have some intermittent traction control issues with the car, where the traction control indicator would blink and the car's accelerator would stop functioning. It started to only happen rarely, but then started happening more frequently. Once we had to swerve out of highway traffic to the shoulder because it happened on the highway. We took the car in to get diagnosed, and after a few days, the mechanics noted that the tires were different sizes. Costco had installed two different sized snow tires on the car. They'd also done it in a way that they were mismatched both front-to-back and left-to-right. Basically the worst way that it could have been wrong. We took the car back to Costco to get it sorted, and their "solution" was to offer to replace the two incorrect tires with new ones. Problem is that the tire tread is now going to be mismatched. Really bad customer experience, I would not recommend this tire shop. Could have had a bad car accident, and the tire shop seemed to not really care or adequately admit that they'd screwed up and should make it right. read more

I know about supply and demand but I really feel this is price gouging. I own a pressure washing business and buy a lot of the concentrated bleach that has always been three full gallons for 9.99. Now that it is back in stock not only is it 14.00 but it's only 3.5 qts per bottle. So you get about 20% less and pay 30% more. My question is will it ever return to the old price and full gallon jugs? read more

There are many good things about Costco Membership Warehouse. It can be tough to justify the $55 a year as an individual but through buying major purchases (electronics/tires) and gasoline, I usually make it back. Costco has off warehouse benefits I've not used but a coworker loves. Prime beef for sale at great prices, $4.99 for a 3 lb. rotisserie chicken, etc. Clothing is a good value if they have what you need. $12 polos of fine cotton? Don't mind if I do. I'll be happy when Tigard gets gasoline. read more

It's Costco. Of course I'm a damn fan! My guy and I are in about every 3-6 months, spending about $200-$600 for a family of five and a dog. The organic selection is getting bigger and more diverse, which makes me happier to be a Costco supporter. I don't like to eat my foods with something a worker has to wear a hazmat suit to water, that's just not right, ya'll. Not right at all. I digress. Just look for the green highlighter on the item's price card and you're set. A great app for checking lots of different info on products is listed on my profile. ;) Ya'll, they took away their famous roasted garlic bread, with actual roasted cloves of garlic simply inserted into the dough and then baked. Say Whhhhhaaaat?! Yes. Garlic lovers unite! Well. We couldn't find these sourdough garlic lovin loaves for about a year, ya'll. A YEAR! Then about 4 months ago while grabbing bagels, I heard angels singing from the corner of the bakery area. Ya know, the corner by where the bakers work... and that rack that holds the bags of 30 dozen pretzel slider rolls for $5.97, (btw, those will make you wanna slap your mama for ever making your turkey and cheese with anything else), I saw it. I saw the sign. I saw the bags. I sideways slapped my bau on his arm, hearing him grunt, and pointed. We both giggled when we saw it, we saw the bread! It was back, but revamped and back on the floor! Well, the sales floor. The new recipe is a 2 baguette package with crusted parmesan cheese on the outside, the roasted garlic now in smaller bits and distributed throughout. It's amazing, because parm and garlic. Duh. Out of the freezer, microwave 90 seconds. Bake for 15 mins ... I couldn't have baked it from scratch for that price and I've been told they use a clean, unbleached flours for their products. It's great bread for under $6 and turnaround and BAM! You can get some Einstein Bagels, a 6 bagel 2 pack for about $5.50. Take that "I-don't-have-time-for-breakfast" self. The summer stuff is on sale and unfortunately I couldn't talk my partner into a 10ft inflatable pool with TWO 'seating areas' for $30 ... Damn it. I do not have a membership but have tagged along with others that do and I have entered in when I had a gift card. First the bad... when entering in with a gift card I was treated like a criminal for not having a membership. The woman was short with me, inattentive and just this shy of rude. I was a little taken back since most people here are just lovely to deal with. I came here once with a friend who was using her food stamp card.... the cashier was rude and condescending and had my friend in tears because of his treatment. She was paying for some of her stuff with a bank card and some of it with the food stamp card..... she I guess used the cards in the wrong order and the cashier was just mean to her. The good...... there are a lot of really good employees that take pride in their job and will go out of their way to help you out. I think this is a smaller Costco than some of the others but has a great selection. You have to go there often because a lot of the stuff in the middle of the store changes depending on what they have in stock. I have found a lot of really good quality stuff for a lot cheaper anywhere else. I am also happy that they are now packaging small containers that you can buy in bulk as in example. I saw spaghetti sauce, instead of being in a huge container that a family could not all use without some of it going bad..... was now in 4 jars that were packaged together. Cream cheese that instead of being in a huge unmanageable block (unless you own a restaurant or sell bagels with cream cheese) were in individual 1oz packages. I usually dont go for the individual packs of stuff but in cream cheese that is brilliant so that it does not go bad as quickly as a block. so I am very happy that they are scaling down on the bulk but you are still able to buy in bulk.....if that makes sense. I had to return a dvd player that I had gotten from there since it did not work properly. The woman did the exchange and was a total doll and no hassles what so ever when it came to returns. It is hard shopping for a family of .....one here but if you look and dont mind buying say like 3 sauces in manageable containers... or a 2 pk of milk stuff like that...... and save money... this is the place to go. read more

Not going back to the Jenkins Location: I spent an hour happily shopping and gathering items from groceries to small gifts. I waited in the long line to pay for my goods. I got up there, and they told me I needed to re-register today. I had brought enough money to cover my order (carefully budgeting to avoid overspending too much during this season), but I didn't have another $110 on me at that moment. I asked if they could let me slide on this order, and I would come in soon and re-up. My membership card shows that I have been an executive member since *2007* by the way. One person in a red coat said yes, they just did this yesterday. She didn't remember how, so the second red coat came by and pointed at my groceries on the lane, and told me that my renewal was sent two months ago and I can't shop here if I don't re-up. I explained that I didn't have the cash for that at the moment, and that the renewal must have gone to my old address- but that was her final word. The place was busy. the line was getting longer, and people were looking at me and listening in to how I didn't have the money to reup. My renewal was sent to my old address, which I will happily update- but despite the fact that they said they could do it and had just done this for someone else yesterday, they acted like I was trying to get something for free and sent me on my way. My travel time to Costco and the hour I spent happily perusing the isles, wasted... the hour that I now have to spend at another store (still need groceries), wasted. How will Costco make this right? I have been an upstanding customer for so many years- why would they treat me like I have suddenly gone sketchy and underhanded? My hair is curled, I was dressed business casual... I can't come up with any reason why I should be treated this way. I have always associate Costco with cost-effective QUALITY. I am extremely disappointed to be sent out of the store empty handed, as if they caught me stealing something. read more

Costco - 7/3/13 - Wholesale Stores Near Me - Aloha, Oregon

For some reason, this Costco in the heart of suburban Beaverton is never busy. Which is just fine with me. It isn't the largest store (there's one in Hillsboro that's enormous) but I've never not found anything that I needed. All their stuff is good quality, especially their groceries--you don't feel like they just roll in pallets from East Asia filled with whatever came out of the ground. Ingredients, if you bother to read them, are generally on the up-and-up (meaning I can usually pronounce most of their names). However, the best value in the whole food service industry has to be the Almond Bar. Oh man, this thing is enormous. Order it, and you'll get a vanilla ice cream bar hand-dipped (while you wait) in melted chocolate, then slathered in almond bits. On a taste-per-ounce basis, this thing is OFF THE CHARTS. It's so heavy that my thumb gets tired holding it up while eat (it is truly a skill to be able to eat this with one hand while guiding a wide-ass Costco cart around with the other). And all for only $1.50...can anything else in the world beat this value? read more

The ear guard on my sunglasses had cracked and broken off. I took it into this Costco, asking how much for a repair. The guy took the glasses, installed new ear guards, handed them back, and said no charge. THAT'S customer service. I bought those sunglasses from that Costco 10 years ago. I've bought every pair of glasses since from Costco, and I will continue to do that. read more

The $100 store! So much variety, enjoy a light lunch while you shop, and get ready to drop a load at the register! They have nearly everything you would ever need and many things you WANT but definitely don't need. Clothing, toys, food, electronics, furniture, gift certificates, pharmacy, you name it, it is there. If only they served hard liquor... The only credit card they take is AMEX so come with cash or a debit card. read more

With the current economy (summer 08 in case you are reading this much later), it is nice to find a place to save a few nickels (inflation). Costco has a lot to offer the discerning shopper. I would highly recommend buying any large electronic purchases here since they extend the warranty for free and have a 90 day no questions asked return policy. This is especially great for new TVs. If you are into video games you can usually find new big name titles about $10 less than Best Buy/Target stores. Food wise I would knock them down to three stars since I have been focusing on eating a more healthy and organic diet. There are still many deals to be had, and products that fit into the above parameters are increasing however they are not that many at the moment. Some of my favorites are organic rice milk (works out to $1.20 a box which is more than a dollar better than you could get it anywhere else), a guacamole and Odwalla orange juice. read more
